tested process

Rooting enable to the user to tweak and modify their phone by getting access to the root system of the android it also allows to use apps which can not be used of unrooted devices.

in this post i will tell you how to root your micromax canvas 2 plus with ease(this posts also includes details if you wish to unroot your phone later)

STEPS

1. Install drivers for micromax canvas 2 plus

2. Enable USB debugging (Go to Settings-->Development-->USB debugging check it.)

3. Connect your phone to pc in storage mode and install drivers

4. Disable all firewall,antivirus and real time protection during this process

5. Change phone connection to media device

6. Download The Tool ROOT WITH RESTORE

7. Unzip the Root Tool

8. Run RunMe.bat file (Do not Run as Administrator)

9. Follow the on screen instructions carefully.type "1" for root and press enter

10.If you ever want to Unroot your Micromax A110/A110q then follow the same process and type "x" and press enter

11. Your device will reboot during the process,after the reboot Bin4ry will copy some files to your device. Now you have fully rooted your device..

Stock ROM from Micromax and has only a single third party app installed namely, SuperUser with updated binaries. Yes, this app is actually essential for Funbook users and hence inclusion of this app is worth.

Micromax Original Stock ROM download (the files are uploaded in two parts)

After downloading both part (part1 and part2), extract it and paste the folder inside your Funbook memory in this path: clockworkmod/backup/
The Path will look like: clockworkmod/backup/2012-05-26.18.20.22/(Rom Files)

Now, you will need ClockWork Mod Recovery (CWM) for restoring this ROM to your Funbook tablet. Follow this Tutorial to install CWM if your Funbook Tablet doesnt have it already: Installing ClockWork Mod Recovery on Micromax Funbook

After installation of CWM Recovery, just reboot your device in CWM boot [hold options button (placed below the Home button) and simultaneously press the power button for 5 seconds until your tablet power ON]. Your tablet will then boot in CWM recovery and you will see options as shown in below screenshot:

Now navigate to “backup and restore” option using the Volume down key and then to select the option, single press power key. Then go to Restore option and select the stock ROM folder (2012-05-26.18.20.22) from there, the CWM recovery will start to install the Stock ROM back to Funbook Tablet and when its finished with its task, press back button and then select “reboot system now”. Viola, you are back to the Original Micromax Funbook Stock ROM!

Install/ Flash Clean Android 4.0 ICS on Micromax Funbook

Micromax Funbook is the best budget tablet in the Indian market right now. It got the potential to run everything we throw at it . But the stock ics which comes with the tablet is filled with useless bloatwares . These useless stuffs makes the tablet laggy and decreases its gaming performance. But this problem can be solved easily by flashing clean ics . The process is really simple , reading this post is going to help you in flashing clean ics without much pain.

You must download all the required files from the the link mentioned in the bottom on this post .

After you have completed downloading, extract the LiveSuite 1.07 x86 x64.zip to Desktop . Here is a screenshot of the extracted file .

Now you need to extract the main "img" file.To extract the "img" file you need to place all the 6 parts in one same folder and since the are in rar format use winrar to extract them. Select the very first rar file(4.0.3-97F1-D1-H2-H01-N413.20120314.part1.rar) and extract it. Winrar will automatically combine the different part into one single "img" file.

Now we have all the required files . Lets flash the clean ics.

How to Flash

First open the “LiveSuit.exe“. It will show up like this:

Now choose the “.img” file you extracted earlier.

Click on SelectImg > Browse to the “.img” file and choose it.

Keep LiveSuite running. Make sure it has enough battery to survive through the process. You must have atleast 80% of battery left in the device.Turn off Micromax Funbook.

Caution - the following steps might tricky - follow them with proper attention

While the tab is switched off, press the back button. Keep it pressed and connect your tab to your PC. Now, while keeping the back button pressed and tab connected to PC press the power button 10 times as fast as possible.

Your pc is now going to detect the tablet .But if you haven't installed the drivers - the pc won't recognize the device . You must install the drivers using this process .

Disconnect the tab and connect again using the same method as mentioned above. LiveSuite should remain open all this time.

After you have connected your tab to your PC again using the above mentioned method, you will see a LiveSuite pop up like below shown image.

Click Yes, you will see another dialogue pop up. Click Yes again. It will start flashing you Micromax Funbook.

After its done you will see a message box as imaged below. Click OK and you are done!

Time to boot up

For the first time your tab will take around three to five minutes to boot up. Don’t worry, its normal. You will see that the bootscreen has changed to the default Android bootscreen.

You will also notice that the tab works fast and is very responsive as well.

So, that’s it. Congratulations. You Flashed your Micromax Funbook with Clean Android 4.0 ICS.

CAUTION - After flashing clean ics , you will lose the CWM recovery installed on your tablet. You must again install it using this process

Install ADB Drivers For Micromax Funbook

Caution-These steps should be done with proper care.

While the tab is switched off, press the back button. Keep it pressed and connect your tab to your PC. Now, while keeping the back button pressed and tab connected to PC press the power button 10 times as fast as possible.

Your PC will now detect the tab. You will see that it is searching for drivers if you did this for the first time. It will fail. But don’t worry. We will fix this now.

To fix this, press the windows key on the keyboard + R. You’ll see that a Run dialogue pops up.

Type devmgmt.msc. Device manager will pop up. You will see Unknown Device.

Right click on it and choose Update Driver Software. Now choose Browse my computer for driver software. Now browse to the folder where you extracted the LiveSuite archive.

You will see two folders named usbDriver and usbDrive_x64 choose usbDriver folder if you are running a x86 PC and usbDriver_x64 if you are running x64 PC.

Click next and wait for some time to get the driver installed.

Swapping Internal And External Memory

Micromax funbook is a pretty good tablet in the market right now. If we exclude few drawbacks which can be solved easily by doing simple tweaks, it worth the money. The very first issue any one who uses this tablet notices is the storage issue. But this also can be fixed by doing a very simple tweak. After doing this process you can install heavy games like MC4 directly into your external sd card with out much pain.

so in this post i am going to explain you how to switch internal memory to external and external memory to internal (swapping memory)

Things you need to have and install.

You must install clockworkmod on the funbook
You must charge Funbook to atleast 80%
How to install
- You must place the swapping zip file on your external sd card (it must be placed where it can be accessed easily during the process)
- Boot into recovery mode (this can be done by turning your device off and pressing the home and the power button simultaneously).
- Navigate to Mound and Storage and press power button
- Mount Every thing you can see in the option
- Back to the main CWM screen and select install zip from sd card
- Now choose zip from sd card
- And than select the zip file which we have copied to the sd card earlier
- Press the power button > Click on "yes"
- Reboot your system ..

Things you should keep in your mind

Once you swap the storage. Its going to be like that for even. There is no undo for this process unless you replace the Clean ICS. Make sure you use a memory card with above average speed. All the games and apps will be read from the sd card itself. So if you use a slow sd card, it might result in lag.

How to install

Step 1: Download CWM Recovery 5 for ICS.

Step 2: Extract it. And you will get a Folder named ‘CWM Recovery 5 ICS’.

Step 3: On the Tab, Go to Settings>Display>Sleep and set the Timeout to 10 Minutes. Connect the tablet to PC via USB cable. (Make Sure USB Debugging is enabled).

Step 4: Go to The Folder ‘CWM Recovery 5 ICS’ and Click on ‘recovery-install.bat’. The installation Process will start. Follow the on-screen instructions you see after clicking on ‘recovery-install.bat’. After the process completes, Tab will reboot to recovery. If it doesn’t, Switch of the Tab. Press and Hold the Options hard Button and Press the Power Button. (Press Two Buttons Simultaneously). Then it’ll boot into Recovery.

Controls for CWM

CWM Recovery is not touch Enabled. So you have to use Hard Buttons to navigate.

Requirements for Rooting Micromax Funbook

Charge up your battery up to at least 70% so that it does not get turned off during the rooting process.
Make sure you have USB Debugging enabled on your device. If you don’t know how to enable it, then just go to – Settings > Applications > Development and turn on the USB Debugging option from there.
Backup your device’s data including the contacts, messages, settings & files present in your SD card or in your phone memory.
Turn off your security programs & firewall (if installed any) so that it won’t disturb the rooting process.

Once you are done with the above mentioned pre-requisites, you can proceed ahead to the process of rooting Micromax Funbook and use it the way you want to. Here are the steps you need to follow in order to root Micromax Funbook Android tablet

Root Micromax Funbook ?

First of all, Download Micromax Funbook Rooting Package (SparkyRoot.APK) from here – [Download Now] and transfer to your device with the help of a USB cable or via Bluetooth.
Now disconnect your device from the computer and open the the transferred APK file on your Funbook from where you have kept it & let it be installed on your device.
Once it gets installed, open it up and push on the “Exploit” button which will get your device rooted within minutes.
After it gets rooted, you will see other options such App Backup & Settings Backup options, which can be used later for restoration.

Okay, that’s all ! You are done, you have successfully rooted your Micromax Funbook P300 and are now ready to use it in a rooted environment. You can check whether it has been rooted properly or not by testing any application (s) which works on only rooted Android devices
