SPOTTED & STYLED

Exactly a week ago I together with a good friend, Tracy , went around Trinoma spotting 10 mall-goers to style using Collezione C2 clothes. To be honest, it was quite a task. Just the act of approaching people took loads of guts, which apparently Tracy & I lack. haha But thankfully the ones we found were really game! So with some charm and convincing powers, we styled these people and made them pose for the camera!

These young ladies, Aria & Aubrey Sotto (they're cousins), were the most game amongst everyone. When we approached them, they didn't even take time to think twice! We dragged them to the booth and styled them with polo shirts that are solid-colored but with small details at the collar and sleeves.

Did you ever notice how white polo shirts always go well with Khakis? Well I personally think it's the best combination, especially for guys! Some think it's a bit dull, but I just have to disagree. Look how balanced the ensembles above are. The white with the colored stripes went well with the neutral bottoms. It made the entire outfit look clean and very fresh.

Okay these guys I have to say are the most entertaining. We ask them to pose and with no hesitations, they posed like models! Definitely not shy camera, as evidently seen in the photos. haha

Their built was smaller than normal guys, which was not a problem at all since Collezione C2 has custom fit polo shirts made especially for the 'young' who prefer skinny fit.

These two, Aurry & EJ, got us confused! We first thought they were a couple but they said they were siblings so we believed them and then after a few minutes they took it back and said they really were together. I swear Tracy and I didn't know what to believe in! But upon styling them, they confessed that they really were a couple. Thank goodness they didn't take it back anymore. haha

The dress we made Aurry wear was one of my favorites. The white stripe made her look even more sexy and the pink lines just accentuated her shape more. We wanted something to go with Aurry's dress so we made EJ wear the famous Collezione Philippine flag polo shirt that had little red & white stripes accent.

Couple Ross & KD was the last we spotted. KD was a bit preppy and vintagey so we made her wear a violet polo shirt, tucked it and wrapped a brown vintage belt around it. For Ross, we gave him the striped gray-red shirt (Tracy & I's favorite design for the guys) since it went well with his dark blue shorts.

To be honest, I was surprised with Collezione C2's summer collection. It was made suited for the hip and young! Styling these people was one of the fun (and a bit challenging) tasks I had. Nonetheless it was quite an experience! :)

I am currently altering my style leaning it more to a minimalist side and recently I prefer less loud colors, more neutrals and less prints, more solids. I don't know how long this mood will last but for the mean time I am deeply attracted to dark hues & golds and this look serves as a proof.

Dark-colored ensembles need not always be boring. You can enliven it with the right choice of accessories and one can never go wrong with bronze and gold. Don't you agree?

So next time you feel like going dark, why not give this trick a try?!

AS REAL AS IT GETS

Lately I have been relentlessly chasing deadlines--going from one drawing to the other just to keep up with all the school work.

I feel so restless all I coud think about is slowing down and recharging my batteries. So yesterday I took the golden chance to relax, and by relax I mean staying in watching dvds, reading a good book and pigging out.

One of the things I missed about home is how my mom would always make sure merienda's always served every afternoon. And knowing what my favorite Filipino snack is, she makes palabok at least 3x a week. Yes that's how I love it! But since I moved to Manila, I hardly even have it. I mean there are a lot in the market but I just can't seem to find the one that reminds me so much of how my mom makes it, until one time I was doing the groceries and found this tasty looking 'instant palabok'. Inspected it closer and realized it was Lucky Me! Special, the same brand that makes the famous instant pancit canton! So yeah, I got about a dozen packs. Takaw, I know! haha

I'm very picky with palabok and I tell you this tastes nothing like 'instant' all.

I even told my mom to try it and she said it tasted like the authentic one.

To make the long story short, I always had it as my merienda since then, ust like how it was at home.

So with everything I needed just around the corner, I spent the afternoon locked up in my room. Yesterday was one of those days when I just wanted to be alone with my thoughts and be surrounded with things that make me happy--interior design book, journal, movies and of course, my favorite food. :)

Do you ever have those times when you wish you could go back to your old university and relive college once again? I do. A lot actually. Thinking about it makes me miss quite a number of things; The busy hallways every dismissal, the loud chitchats of different cliques in the cafeteria, the long line in the elevators and most of all, the students strutting themselves in their laid-back "I-don't-give-a-damn-I'm-just-doing-my-thing" kind of style. Dressing carefree--honestly that's the thing I missed the most. And during those days when I feel like sporting something 'student-esque' , I always turn to statement tops, canvas bags and Keds. I mean there's nothing more 'collegey' than that! We may have different Universities/Schools but I believe we all could agree that a tee, canvas bag & sneakers are every student's fashion staple piece! And to those who disagree, just leave a note below. Don't forget your phone number. Haha kidding!

And speaking of school, I have two long tests tomorrow. Might have to pull another all-nighter again! So
I better get started before it's too late.

After a long long while I finally got the chance to go through different fashion inspirations on Tumblr a few days ago. Most of you know this but for those who don't, I adore Miley Cyrus' rock-boho style so much to the point where I have my very own 'Miley' album (in my laptop) with nothing but her looks. But after being led to one Tumblr blog to another, I happened to land on one that's all about Vanessa Hudgens' gypsy ensembles. Inspired and very much carried away, I rummaged through the pile of old stuff in my closet and looked for something gypsy which I can walk around in without people thinking I'm some kind of curtain lost in the street. I wouldn't wanna be stared at. That's the last thing I want.

I thought instead of wearing paisleys and feather prints, I'd go for plains and just let the accessories make the whole look. The necklace and bangles I believe did the job, but I must say it is the shawl that capped off the entire outfit. It just made ever single item blend in to one whole piece, don't you think?

You can never go wrong with denim shorts paired heels and blazer on days when you want to be in something between overdressed and underdressed. Lately I have been posting a lot of laid-back ensembles, and I mean a whole lot. It's just that being in something fancy isn't really my thing and casual looks always seem more appealing , but there are times when I push myself outside the box to experiment.
And today's one of those days.
But to be honest, I first thought of going with the usual--boots and leather jacket--but these baroque-inspired heels got my attention so I tried it on and it saw how it actually went well with the top and earrings, so just stuck to it. This is honestly just like any other denim ensemble I always come up with but the only difference is this time I added spunk with the help of bright colors and a few blings.

No need for a fancy outdoor shoot to show today's look when you're left with nobody but yourself to take your outfit shots; a few 'selfies' will (should) suffice.

I just got home from class and before changing to my pajamas (we can never be to old for them) I wanted to show you what I wore to school. My #OOTD to put it in simpler terms. Emphasis on the hashtag haha And in order to do so, I had to use whatever resources I have at home and with a mirror and digital camera just sitting around the corner, it wasn't at all difficult.

Phoenix's Armistice (one of my favorite songs) is playing on iTunes and coincidentally I'm sporting a camouflage jacket which then gave me the idea to entitle the look'Army-stice'. I know its lame but if you think about it, it's actually not that bad. I mean, I'm usually poor at these things but coming up with that word is already something for me. haha Alright enough.

Going to spend Sunday with my cousins and I'm currently waiting for them to arrive. We planned on walking around the neighborhood and check out shops in High Street so I thought of giving my boots another try since they've been siting in my closet for 5mos already and i never really got to wear them more than once.

It's been forever since my last blog post and I know I owe you guys more than an apology and explanation for my sudden hiatus so now please let me take this opportunity to say sorry. There's just so much things to attend to--school, chores, errands, trips etc--and I barely had enough time to tend my blog. **Insert sad face here** But I am glad to tell you I think I will be back on track real soon! Finally found an assistant to take my photos and do some stuff for me. In fact we're meeting tomorrow! I smell more outfit posts for the week.. Oh yeah! haha

I wish you could just see how ecstatic I am right now. I really missed blogging and to be rising from the grave I was in for a couple of weeks is more than reason enough to be really blissful now. Plus I spent the day with my cousins and brother so yeah, you guess how merry I am now.

I won't make any promises but I will try my best to be posting more often from now on. I know somehow I disappointed you guys but I hope you do understand why. My days sadly have been very taxing, all the more now that my yaya's gone. Yeah she's getting married :'( So I am stuck with doing everything by my own. But living independently isn't that bad. I just have to find a way with balancing my priorities and so far, I am close to getting there :)

Anyway this is what I wore today. I just thought of making my 'come back' look simple. Like getting back to basics. I mean you can never go wrong with black & white, can you? I hope you love it though!

I have always thought pants were sexy all the more if it's the right cut and fit. But often times looking for the perfect pair can be quite a task, especially the one that does not show our muffin tops a.k.a. love handles.
If you noticed I hardly post photos of me in jeans. Well it's not like I don't like it, but I just seem to find a hard time looking for the one that fits my shape. Luckily I was able to spot these skinnies from Girbaud that perfectly hugs my body and does not show my muffin top which is always my problem by the way. What's even better is that this pair costs lesser than their normal denims. Now talk about practicality and function!

Yesterday I had dinner with Aidx and this is what I was wearing. I'm no Victoria's Secret model but I did had the guts to walk around high street in a hanging top (even I couldn't believe this) and I have the skinnies to thank to for making me look worthy of showing some skin. haha

Summer has got to be my most favorite season of the year. Different splashes of colors (from soft tones of pastel & neutral to luminous hues of neons) and bursts of prints (from tropic to moroccan) are easily spotted everywhere! Never has it been boring to dress up at this time all because excuses to be too bright or heavily printed is openly accepted, well to most cases. haha

Paid a visit to Call It Spring Greenbelt yesterday and fell in love with the soft and bright hues that enlivened the shop. They just released their summer 2013 set and unlike other shoe stores who concentrate on a certain 'trend', Call It Spring does the opposite. With 3 different collections to choose from, one need not worry about spotting the perfect 'summer pair'.

Normally for my everyday outfit I stick to neutrals and basic, but with the explosion
of radiant hues this summer, I just can't help but make some changes with my wardrobe!

So for the mean time, I am bidding goodbye to my pair of old blue jeans and saying hello to the collection of candy-colored denims from GAP. Something that I am quite happy of doing!

Why? Well first, worrying about looking dull will hardly be a problem. Second, I need not add a lot to the outfit to make it stand out. I can just throw on a plain top with the denim and some accessories but still look fresh and vibrant! Just what I did with this ensemble, which I hope you like by the way. :)

I've to say, this season's trend is a lot easier to work with than last summer's!

Don't be ashamed. I too am guilty for always siding to casual and comfortable. In fact, I often go through mornings when I feel like just throwing on something I first lay eyes on in the closet, and last Thursday was nothing different. Went to school in a ponytail--which I only do on lazy days--and in my favorite go-to outfit: denim jacket, shorts/skirt and boots.

You might be thinking now what on earth is special about this look, well that's the thing. It does not always have to be special. As long as it looks good and you feel comfortable in it, then I believe it's all good! Don't you agree?

As a preparation to summer, I am finally adding neon to my wardrobe. And though I'm only taking one baby step at a time,

I can say I am making quite a progress already--having to start with accessories, to wallet and now down to shorts! haha

But despite my efforts of really going outside the box, the 'safe' side in me still comes out as seen evidently in this outfit.

I just thought pairing neutrals and soft tones with neon would lessen the "OH WOW" factor. I mean it's okay to be catching attention, but you wouldn't wanna be looking like a clown from some random circus walking in a costume that's color uncoordinated, would you? Know what I mean? haha

So yeah, I came up with this--an ensemble I call...balanced.

Something very soft yet cool in the eyes.
