I have already been feeling unwell for the past few days--please excuse me for the lack of blog posts--but today was just the worst! I woke up late (2 PM) with a clogged nose, high body temp and a bad sore throat that made talking impossible! Everytime I try to speak, no voice comes out of my mouth. Really bad, eh? You tell me :(

It's Sunday, my blogging day, but as much as I want to spend time infront of my laptop and go into details about my week and this outfit, my body just screams the opposite.

Plane rides can get pretty boring especially when you're travelling alone.

Last night's trip sadly was the most excruciating. I was sad (din't want to leave), flight was delayed, it was late yet I couldn't sleep, iPod was batt empty, girls beside me were loud and the person infront of me were inconsiderate enough to stretch her chair like there was nobody at the back.

I wanted to keep myself occupied so I held my camera and took snapshots of anything I found interesting.

THE RIGHT CUT

I dont know if you have already noticed, but I seldom wear pants. Well its not because I don't feel fashionable in it, it's just that I couldn't seem to find the right cut that complements my unproportioned body--normal waist, noticeably huge muffin top/lovehandles, small hips and slightly big inner thighs.

The jeans I find in most retail shops were either too tight in the waist (made my muffin top seem more obvious) but fitted in the hips or perfect in the waist but lose in the thighs.

Do some of you face the same fashion dilemma?

I went to Levi's anticipating I would see the usual cut pants like those I always come face to face with in other stores but I was puzzled when the salesperson measured my body. Soon after, I learned how it was essential for them to do that so they could give their customers the perfect cut of jeans that would suit their body types.

I happened to be a "Slight Curve" so I picked pants belonging to such category. I was amazed how it suited me well--low waist (it didn't show my muffin top) and fitted yet very comfortable.

I left with a big shopping bag weighing roughly about 2-3 kgs? You figure how many was inside. haha!

Thanks to the staff of Levi's Greenbelt and to Gen Go for being very accommodating.

As someone who adores colors, I couldn't take letting a dull outfit pass without adding something to spice it up, and in this ensemble that "something" was a pair of royal blue booties! :)

Just my first day in Davao and good things keep on greeting me! One of which is a huge box from Le Bunny with 2 pairs of uber comfy ballet flats inside! :)

I couldn't wait to show it to you guys so despite the lack of preparation, I still posed and have myself photographed. The sunglasses did the trick. It hid the dark circles under my eyes and made me look fresh. haha!

I love the blue more. You? :)

There's not a day that goes by without us (me and Teena) talking bout food.

Yesterday we met up in Shang and had lunch in an Italian resto which we both have not tried yet.

Food was great, servings were big and the prices were so-so. :)

I ordered chicken burger with veggie chips while Teena got Bratwurst and Frankfurter :)

My ash-gold dip-dyed hair seemed boring so I thought of experimenting again by unevenly adding red to it. I wanted to make it look spunky so yeah, copper was the perfect color! Still dont have the guts to do violet and blue!

Anyway, I shall call it the Phoenix Ombre!

What you think? HAHA :D

Oh, still am not contented with the result. Tonight, I will add golden highlights! hehe

WISHLIST: ROMWE

I've never went nuts on an online shop as much as I have on Romwe.

Their latest collection centered more on vintage, retro and boho prints which definitely is my type! I was in panic the moment I laid eyes on them. I thought for a while of getting everything and then reality kicked in, thankfully. I was sane enough to control myself.

It's just crazy how an online shop could tempt and make someone overspend. It's intense. I swear.

My favorite? The DM's floral boots. I first saw it a year ago on Tumblr and I've been eyeing on it since then. I even remember saving a photo on my ipod for inspirational purposes, sounds professional eh? lol and when I saw it on Romwe, I was psyched! The only downside was, I had to give up 5 tops for it cause getting all would mean sacrificing my month's worth allowance! haha

Cool for School Part 2

Photos taken January 2012 when I visited Ateneo de Davao University on a wash day--Wednesday.

I observed as many students as I could and noticed how fashion evolved since I left my alma mater a year ago. I was delighted to see girls in tights, beanies, heels, blazers and guys in vintage loafers, denim button-downs, cardigans and boots. I wanted to take photos of everyone but most of them walked real fast, like they were in New York and Tokyo! I was too shy to make them wait since taking photos of one person usually takes 5-10 minutes so I just approached those who weren't in a hurry. Just try to imagine if I asked them to stay put. The line would have been long and no doubt they would have missed their classes! haha

The changes were noticeable and its happy-making to see students confidently strutting themselves in the hallways, not minding what others might say about what they were wearing--may it be casual or over the top. Good job guys!

To those who agreed to be photographed, thank you! I plan on doing this type of post like it was a ritual or something. I shall call it the Cool for School Series haha! Hope to expect more participants the next time I visit! :D

Remember, always wear your style cause you know what they say...

It's black and gray or should I just say dull and boring? But with the maroon shoes, gems and golds, it looked well put up, like a boring vanilla cupcake spiced up with bright frosting and colorful sprinkles. Lol :)

Took photos, walked around Greenbelt then ate and chatted in Chillis, one of my favorite restaurants.

Tried their mini burgers for the first time (thanks Teena for suggesting it) and got full after munching on just 2...surprisingly. haha :)

This year, decided to spend Valentine's Day a little different than how people usually do. Instead of celebrating it thru overindulging on things that are luxuriously pampering--lavish dinners and impractical gifts to name a few--Ashlee and I settled on a simple but a bit depressing celebration. Haha!

Following our usual routine, we went to the gym and worked out 'til night time, but it was a special day so we thought eating out would make us feel a little less miserable even if we knew how we have nobody but ourselves. We spotted this low-key Italian restaurant where the line was not as bad as others. Tried their food and it was wonderfully good! Plus they gave each of us roses, the only flower we received that day. (Tears now run down my cheek. Joke. Lol!)

We talked about life, food (as usual) and people around us (just like what we always do). Nothing special really, but nonetheless it was a nice dinner :)

Ugh. Honestly, it sucks to be far from home. Specially on the 14th, which not only is heart's day but also my mom's birthday. :(

After dinner I went to Draft and met up with my bestfriend Gimi and Daby. Spent the rest of Valentine's with Davao people and waited til the clock reached 12am. Finally, the 14th ended! haha :D

LUCY HALE FOR BENCH OJ AMERICANA

Cameras were everywhere!

Dropped by the Bench OJ Americana launch last Saturday and got the chance to see Lucy Hale!

It was packed with teenagers screaming their lungs out as she walked and shook hands of random people. She was sweet, just like her character in Pretty Little Liars and cocky, always making jokes that made us laugh! :)

I wish I stayed longer to have a photo taken with her but I had to leave early, unfortunately.

Still, I am grateful to have attended this event!
She was the girl-next-door type, perfect ambassadress for Bench OJ Americana. :)

Why the title? Its the bag. :)

Went to the night market with Blu & King weeks ago and saw this sidewalk vendor selling everything I always wanted to have--boho bags, colorful table cloths, hand-made turquoise silver rings and antique brass figurines.
Looking at the everything, I had the impression it was sourced from Thailand or India but I was extremely surprised after knowing it was neither from these countries. Amazingly all of it was made in Nepal, the mountainous country that housed none other than, THE Mt. Everest.

Who would have known?? It was a surprise to me, but for some, maybe not. hehe

Since that night, dreaming about going to Nepal never left my mind.

Someday I will....when I have saved enough.

BIG ASS HEADSET!

Bad weather. Tsk

The Hangar

Today, we paid a visit to Blu's school and saw planes.
Flying actually was not an option--weather was damn bad--but we were fortunate (for a while only though) to catch a plane scheduled to fly off that exact moment. I was unprepared (mentally) and scared (more of paranoid) after hearing crash stories Blu shared the night before. But then, I thought this opportunity comes once in a blue moon so I toughened up, forced myself to be ready for the said 1 hour trip and got my ass on that small plane.

Everything was going accordingly: headset plugged, flight plans set out and pilots ready. Then the unfortunate happened. Clouds turned darker than usual, droplets started pouring one by one and a voice coming from the radio prohibited us from taking off. Damnittt! Weather, why do you always have to ruin plans? So with broken hearts and shattered excitement, we went down and took photos instead. haha! But there is--and will always be--a next time. Planning on coming back soon to finish that incomplete trip! Thanks to Blu for taking us there!

Anyway, back to reality now. I apologize for the lack of posts. I just have to have a break, so I did! :)
