New PC malware loads before Windows, is virtually impossible to detect

The issue is that since a bootkit can load in malware programs before Windows itself loads, Windows processes have a hard time identifying malicious activity, and an even harder time removing it. Completely reinstalling the OS won’t do it — this is rather like the NSA attacks that can resist even a total format of the drive, but so far as we know those mostly at least require hardware infiltration of the target. In this case, this purely software virus can install itself behind your computers eyes, and thus never be seen.A newly revealed malware that has been in use since at least the beginning of this year has been dubbed a “bootkit,” for its ability to infect a computer at the most fundamental level, running when the computer boots to actually load before the operating system itself. It’s part of the widespread “Nemesis” malware suite, and while it is currently aimed at financial institutions, the inclusion of bootkit functionality in a relatively “mass market” solution means the powerful form of cyber infiltration is coming to a much wider array of victims.

Dubbed BOOTRASH by security researchers, the malware works by infecting the Master Boot Record (MBR), which contains basic information about the partitions on an HDD, and some basic code about how to initialize the primary partition. Nemesis is installed on the empty space between partitions, and BOOTRASH injects it into the still-loading Windows processes when it runs on system startup. To a certain extent, Windows takes this starting collection of running code as the gospel — how could it already be bad, before the OS has even done anything, yet?

The only way to go about digging a bootkit out of your computer with a virus scanner would be to bulk scan of the raw disk content, rather than scanning activity as it occurs. That’s an incredibly taxing thing, especially for large networked servers that might have enormous amounts of storage in which to hide, and doing the search itself takes resources and computing time away from your core business. Most virus scanning software doesn’t generally check the Windows registry or the virtual file system created by BOOTRASH to store itself — these attacks require a whole new approach to digital countermeasures.

Intriguingly, the creators of Nemesis seem to have built in an uninstall option that will restore the original boot process. It won’t remove the Nemesis code or undo the odd little file system home it makes for itself on your allegedly unused disk space, but it will stop Nemesis from actually coming into action upon boot. Why attackers might want the option to ease off like this is anybody’s guess — but the ability to roll out so-called “ransomware” is one real possibility.

Remember that bootkits need not to limited to targeting banks and credit card transactions. Bootkits are basically just more technically advanced versions of rootkits, which have of course been used by everyone from Sony to (probably) the US government. Bootkits offer far more durability for the attacker, but they also destroy any ability to claim innocence — you could maybe claim that a rootkit was installed in good faith, but a bootkit is very specifically designed to fool the user. Any non-criminal enterprise installing a bootkit is running a big financial risk if found out.

Still, it’s worth pointing out that a computer can’t be harmed by a malware it never encounters. These might be super-advanced cyber super-bugs, but they still almost certainly got onto the target systems with the same techniques as all the malware that’s come before: basic research and personal trickery in the form of spear-phishing personal messages over email or social media. It’s essential that the security industry invent newer and better technologies to counteract those of the criminals — but investment in education and good online practices could be a better idea for corporations, dollar for dollar.

Porsche to build electric Mission E sports sedan, will hit 80 percent charge in 15 minutes

The Mission E is roughly similar to the Tesla Model S on paper; it’s a four-door sedan (though not a hatchback) with four bucket seats and a combined driveline output of over 600hp, with a promised 0-60 under 3.5 seconds and range over 310 miles — putting it easily within striking range of the Model S in Ludicrous Speed mode. Porsche is designing an 800-volt charger that the company promises will be twice as fast as today’s quick charge systems, and that can deliver 80 percent charge in just 15 minutes. It’s also planning a wireless charging system via induction coil beneath an owner’s garage floor, assuming the owner ponies up for the cost of purchasing it and having it installed.It’s just as everyone hoped: Porsche is going after Tesla. Porsche has announced that it will invest $1 billion to build the Mission E, the company’s first 100-percent electric car that debuted in concept form in September and is now scheduled for launch by 2020. The company says the project will create over 1,000 jobs, and involve a new paint shop and assembly plant, as well as the expansion of an existing body shop and engine factory for building the electric motors.

The instrument panel is fully OLED in the concept version, and we don’t see any reason why Porsche wouldn’t build that into the final product to one-up the Tesla Model S’s 17-inch capacitive touch screen. The panel also mimics the 911’s classic five-gauge cluster in OLED form. The car even has an eye-tracking sensor that will reposition the gauges and open up menus based on where the car sees you looking on the panel. And here’s a new one: There’s an emotion-tracking sensor in the rear view mirror that can sense how happy or sad you are, and the car tells you so with an emoticon on the dashboard.

“We are resolutely taking on the challenge of electric mobility,” said Dr. Oliver Blume, chairman of the Porsche executive board, in a statement. “Even with solely battery-powered sports cars, Porsche is remaining true to its philosophy and offering our customers the sportiest and technologically most sophisticated model in this market segment.” Blume also said that the Mission E project “underlines the importance of Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen as a production site, of Baden-Württemberg as a center of technology and of the whole German automotive industry.”

Something tells us that Porsche will price the Mission E at least as high as the Model S, given that most of the Porsche lineup above the Boxster and Cayman is already into the range of Elon Musk’s sedan and even the new Model X. Porsche is also no stranger to electric drivetrain components; its $850,000 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid supercar made serious waves on its introduction, so a fully electric car is the logical next step for Stuttgart.

Google AdSense and Tips for Increasing Page Views

I drew the image below to summarize the way to increase traffic and raise page views of my blog.

I just finished this long and sometimes boring process. Below is an explanation of what i did.It all started a few months ago when Google sent me an email saying that i should include AdSense to my blog. I wasn't sure exactly what it was, but i agreed to try it out.AdSense works when Google automatically puts advertisements on my blog. Those adds only show up if the blog is found through Google's search engine. So if you just type in http://vthreenet.blogspot.in you likely won't see any advertisements. But if you search for something on Google, then click on a link to my page, you might see an targeted add on the side. If people click on the adds, the referred website pays Google, then Google then pays me, minus their fees. From my blog's stats page i see that i average around 1000 page views a month for all of my 250 pages.

As of the middle of February, i'm up to $1.55 from AdSense. I usually get something like 1¢ per day.Google doesn't actually pay me the money until i reach the "payment threshold" of $100. At the rate i'm going, i won't be receiving a $100 check from Google until the year 2045.

So here are the ways in which i tried to increase my stats:

1. Check my Google Page RankThe first thing i did was check out my Google Page Rank. Page Rank is the algorithm that Google uses to rate web sites. It's just one of many factors that Google uses when displaying search results. The top score a site can receive is 10.My current score is 0. Not so good.Google only updates it's Page Ranks four times per year so no matter what i do, i might not see a change for a few months.

2. Submit URL to search enginesI saw that there are websites like FreeWebSubmission, where you can submit your URL to several search directories with a single click. It seemed a little shady but i tried it anyways. Apparently it worked but the only two sites that i had heard of were Google and Bing. I don't think there are a lot of people using "Info Tiger" as their primary search directory.Also i read that if Google thinks you are sending a spam URL to their site, they may block your web page from its search results. I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

3. Add Blogger Labels and META tagsI read that adding keywords or labels to each page will help search directory's know what each page is about. So i went back through all my posts and added Labels to every page, which give a short description.Then i read that Blogger Labels don't actually help at all. They are simply a way to organize all of your blog posts. The thing i really needed to add was called META Tags. Meta Tags are the actual keywords and descriptions that will help search directory's quickly match my page to keywords someone has searched for.I read through lots of pages until i found a few basic lines of HTML code that had author, description and keywords meta tags. I then had to add that to the existing HTML code at the top of my title page. It wasn't too bad since i had already typed out the keywords in the Blogger Labels. I simply copied and pasted them into the lines of code. The tricky part was making different keywords and descriptions show up for each individual page.For example my META Description for THIS page is:meta content='The best tips i've found for increasing page views to your blog, blogger, backlinks' name='description'Keywords are:meta content='algorithm, blog, blogger labels, blogger, feed, Google AdSense, HTML, increase views, META Tag, page ranks, search directories, tips, traffic, tricks, backlinks, ' name='keywords'Author: meta content='David R. For example, now if someone is searching "how to build a bed" Google might show my post a week ago as Twin Beds followed by my META Description, which that person is more likely to click on rather than No title required . . . - Twin Beds, with no description.

4. Add BacklinksI read that having other webpages on the internet that link to your page, will help increase your page rank. This is called adding backlinks.I actually did three things to create the backlinks.First was use a backlink generator website. Amazingly enough i went to Freebacklinksgenerator.com. This site reminded me a little of the shady URL submission page, but it too seemed to work. Although i think Google would consider these as "bad" backlinks. The algorithm that Google uses would probably give a low value to those links. There are lots of other sites that will also creat the backlinks, like backlinkgenerator.net.So now there are 50 random, phony web pages out there that have a link to my site. The pages it creates end up looking like this. The second trick i did was to create an account on Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon. They are sites where people upload and vote on popular stories and pictures on the internet. I figured that i could submit a few posts, which link to a few of my more interesting blog pages.Here's my homepage on Digg.And on Reddit.The third thing i did is by far the sneakiest. I watched a video where this woman said that she was able to really increase traffic to her site through Yahoo Answers.What she did was create 2 Yahoo user names. With the first user name she would post a question related to one of her pages. Then with the second user name she would answer the question and include a link to her own page. She would then go back to her first name and vote herself as Best Answer.Apparently Google's algorithm thinks highly of Yahoo Answers. So if a link to my blog is on there it should increase my page rank and also cause my pages to show up higher on Google's search results.

5. Create a Sitemap and FeedI signed up for Google Webmaster Tools. It is similar to the Stats tab in blogger but it provides additional information and also allows you to create a Sitemap. I actually created 4 sitemaps, which are direct feeds of my blog, nothing fancy.:http://feeds.feedburner.com/NoTitleRequiredI also updated my feed to allow for different formats and ways which it can be viewed. Hopefully this will give Google and other search directory's another way to link to the site. Plus it was real easy, just a few clicks and Webmaster Tools does it all for you.

6. Upload video and link to YoutubeI read that 50% of all traffic on the internet is from videos. And 12% of that traffic is from Youtube. Now i know that is mainly because videos requires lots of information but it still may help.So i created my own Youtube Channel and started to upload some of my video's with links to my blog. I compressed the sizes to Youtube quality and then uploaded 109 of my video's. I'm still in the process of updating their titles and adding descriptions with links to my blog.

7. Monitor the InformationFinally i need a way to see if this all works. To monitor everything i am using the Stats Tab on the Blogger website. This gives me lots of numbers and charts like the image at the top.Here is an example in the Stats tab of my Blogger page, these are my most popular blog posts of all time.And here is what the people typed into the search box that leads them to my blog.Also i'm using the Google Webmaster Tools that i created earlier. It goes into a little more in depth and has additional stats. It shows you things like words that were searched for that may link to your pages.This is an example of one of the tables that Google Webmaster Tools gives you. It's interesting to see things like out of the 2,000 times people type in "cool easy pictures to draw" they actually click on the link to my site less than 10 times. I have a better chance at increasing that number, the higher up on the search results my page is.It's actually been really interesting to read all ways to improve your blog. Lots of the stuff out there are gimmicks but i'm hoping that i weeded through that and found the usefully tips.After all this work i'm not sure it will do anything to increase the amount of people that view my blog pages. But we'll see. My short term goal is to average 2,000 page views per month by January 2013. Then maybe i'll start making 2¢ per day

Volkswagen Polo Review

After Volkswagen unveiled the Polo at the Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year, the Polo has already garnered much attention among car enthusiasts and a lot of people who have been looking at purchasing a hatchback have put their decisions on hold in anticipation of this 'little' VW.

Design:

The Polo is certainly a very handsome looking car and unmistakably a VW. Granted, it doesn't have the same design flair and pizzazz as some of the more recent entrants like the Grande Punto or the rather aggressively styled i20. However, in typical German fashion, it is rather mature looking and has just that right balance of sportiness without being overly yuppie in its demeanour.The Polo has a very aggressively chiselled front end, with smart headlamps which really sweep from around the front fenders to merge with the slim grille. The big shiny VW badge sits in the centre of the grille and the two chromed horizontal slats do add a bit of sparkle to the front of the car. Also adding to the sharp looking front is the crisply cut chin and front bumper which houses a pair of neatly styled fog lamps, which are standard on the loaded Highline variant. Interestingly VW decided that the slightly smoked effect headlamps which are available on the Polo worldwide may not go down well with the Indian consumer's psyche and went with a shiny one instead.

The neatly styled tailgate with the sporty spoiler looks good and houses the third-brake light. The diesel powered Polo carries a TDI badge on the rear and that's about the only distinguishing factor between the petrol and diesel engined Polo's. The Polo has a boot that's just a shade over two hundred and eighty litres, but the fenders do intrude into the boot somewhat and rob it of some precious stowage area. The Trendline features a full-fold down rear seat where as the Comfortline and Highline feature a 60:40 split rear seat which may be more practical.

Interiors:

The Polo will be available in three trim levels, namely the Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. Common across all the variants is power steering with a tilt and telescopic adjustment, manually adjustable side-view mirrors, HVAC, front power windows (with an Auto down), central locking, body coloured bumpers, tachometer, engine immobilizer, chrome finished door handles on the inside, prismatic rear-view mirror, tinted glasses, height adjustable headrests for the front and rear and a fully folding rear seat (only on the Trendline).

The interior of the Polo is a two-tone affair. You've got the top half of the dashboard in a durable (but hard) black plastic, and the bottom is beige and merges seamlessly with the doorpad design. The beige interior does make the car feel far more airy on the inside than a grey one might, but it is going to need constant attention to keep it looking spotless. The chrome finished door release handle adds a slightly upmarket touch to the doorpad area.

If you've been in Skoda's or other VW's before you'll feel right at home in the Polo. There are plenty of familiar looking bits. Some of the stalks, buttons, knobs come from the giant VW Group parts bin, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since they're all well made and have a certain quality feel about them. The knobs that control the airflow on the air-con vents feel really good to the touch and have a very precise feel to their operation. Little quality bits like this can really go a long way in giving a car a well-made, quality feel.

Engine, Transmission:

The Polo comes with two engine options for now, and both are 75bhp, 3 cylinder, 1.2 litre engines! The petrol is 1198cc with an output of 75bhp @ 5400 rpm and churns out 110Nm of torque @3750 rpm. The diesel is a 1199cc commonrail turbo-diesel which churns out 75bhp @ 4200 rpm and a useful torque figure of 180Nm@ just 2000 rpm. There's also interestingly a 1.6 petrol engine which is listed on the VW website which produces just a shade over 100bhp, but VW state that they won't be launching this anytime soon. That would really make this Polo, truly sporty.

Both the 1.2litre engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, which VW says is the same 'box, but because of the different final drive ratios and the way each of these engines produce their power, the car's really do feel quite different when you drive them. VW says that there's going to be no auto-box for a while at least, so it's just the 5-speed manual for now. Incidentally, this new 1.2 diesel engine that we've got here will debut in Europe later this year.

Driving Dynamics:

Most European cars are known for their ride and handling and we have always been quite a fan of the way the VW group cars ride and handle. Comfortable through bad patches, surefooted and safe at speed and very neutral and safe at the limit. The Polo is no different from its other siblings and distant cousins, in this respect. The Polo sports struts in the front and a torsion beam with gas dampers at the rear. The suspension setup was slightly tweaked for our road conditions and the ground clearance upped by 50mm and the car now has a ground clearance of 168mm. The car has a slightly stiff ride at low speeds, but the ride at higher speeds is excellent and the car feels thoroughly composed even when caught out by really bad patches or mid-corner bumps. The Polo's suspension really has been tweaked to strike a perfect compromise between firmness and agility. The brakes on the Polo felt progressive and quite meaty with enough grabbing power. The Polo uses discs upfront and drums at the rear and only the Highline trim gets ABS. We'll know just how good they are when we put it to our braking tests in a short while.

The engineers have designed the Polo for the Polo Cup, which really says it all. The kind of stress racing can put on a chassis, has ensured that the Polo's chassis is engineered for so much more than what it will be subjected to. The chassis is absolutely brilliant and even on really twisty patches the tyres on our Polo were giving up well before what this chassis is really capable of. The Polo has electro-mechanical assist for the steering, which weighs up well with increase in speed and has just the right amount of feedback coming through to your fingers on the steering wheel. The one noticeable area that really needs improvement is reducing the tyre noise that filters through at even moderate speeds and this somewhat breaks the calm of the cabin. There is a drone at speed on concrete patches and this is a shame, since no doubt VW, like all other manufacturers would have worked hard on keeping NVH to a minimum.

Overall Evaluation:

The Polo is really a brilliantly made quality-hatchback with a legendary badge. It has a lot of things going in its favour. At 4.34 - 5.72 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol and 5.32 - 6.70 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), one really wishes that VW would reconsider their pricing for the diesel, which will no doubt see fair numbers. There's also the issue of rear legroom for tall passengers, which is a significant concern, since this is one segment that really wants it all! Dubai: Apple’s newly launched iPad mini will be officially available in the UAE by the end of November, said a Dubai-based authorised distributor.

“The 7.9-inch iPad mini will really do well in the UAE as it is within the reach of people who couldn’t afford the larger iPad,” Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Emax, told Gulf News.

He said, the time to market has gradually been reducing between the UAE and the US “and while we don’t have an exact date from Apple yet, I’m fairly optimistic it will be here by November”.

Types of touch screens

Mainly there are two types of touchscreens in mobiles viz resistive and capacitive.There are some extra advanced types like amoled , gorilla etc.

Resistive

A resistive touchscreen panel is composed of several layers, the most important of which are two thin, electrically conductive layers separated by a narrow gap. When an object, such as a finger, presses down on a point on the panel's outer surface the two metallic layers become connected at that point: the panel then behaves as a pair of voltage dividers with connected outputs. This causes a change in the electrical current, which is registered as a touch event and sent to the controller for processing.

Surface acoustic wave

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology uses ultrasonic waves that pass over the touchscreen panel. When the panel is touched, a portion of the wave is absorbed. This change in the ultrasonic waves registers the position of the touch event and sends this information to the controller for processing. Surface wave touchscreen panels can be damaged by outside elements. Contaminants on the surface can also interfere with the functionality of the touchscreen.

Capacitive

Today, most smartphones have a high-resolution capacitive touchscreen

A capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide (ITO). As the human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. Different technologies may be used to determine the location of the touch. The location is then sent to the controller for processing. Unlike a resistive touchscreen, one cannot use a capacitive touchscreen through most types of electrically insulating material, such as gloves; one requires a special capacitive stylus, or a special-application glove with finger tips that generate static electricity. This disadvantage especially affects usability in consumer electronics, such as touch tablet PCs and capacitive smartphones in cold weather.

Keam 2011:Option rearrangement from Wednesday

The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations has announced the proceedings for the next phase of allotment. According to this the option registration for new colleges and new courses and deletion and re-arrangement of existing options by students will be allowed from August 24 to August 26 on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The third phase of allotment to medical courses and second allotment to engineering courses will be made on August 30.

The window for remitting fee/additional fee at SBT braches will be from August 31 to September 2. Students should join the colleges allotted from August 31 to September 3. The principals of the respective colleges have to give the non-joining report to the CEE by the evening of September 6. The last date for cancelling allotment by students is September 13.

There are a total of seven new engineering colleges and nine new engineering courses included in the new allotment. Allotment to MBBS in Pariyaram and Kochi Co-operative Medical Colleges too will be made in this phase of allotment. However the 11 Self-Financing Medical Colleges are not included in the latest allotment.

b) 13 candidates who belong to the SEBC category allotted to CMC can study for Rs 37000 and 13 candidates who belong to the SEBC category allotted to KNM can study for Rs 44000. These candidates will be selected on the basis of rank. The fee benefits will be granted only after the closure of allotments to MBBS Course. Hence candidates allotted to CMC will have to remit the State Merit fee, Rs 87000 and those allotted to KNM, Rs 1,00,000 at the time of allotment. The CEE will refund the balance amount to the candidates who are eligible for fee benefits after the completion of allotment process.

The annual tuition fee fixed for the Government seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering colleges is Rs 60,000. The office notification issued on 05.08.2011 by the CEE's office in connection with the fee concession benefits will be applicable to new Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges included in the third phase of allotment. Candidates who received allotment in the third phase, but wish to cancel their allotment after remitting the required fee can do so by submitting the filled in proforma at the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before 5 pm on 13.09.2011. The proforma for Cancellation of allotment is provided on the website www.cee-kerala.org. No cancellation is permissible to students allotted to Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges after 13.09.2011.

The allotment to the 75 Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges included in the Second phase will come to an end with the next phase of allotment (4th Phase). Candidates allotted to Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges as per the 4th allotment should compulsorily take admissions to these colleges. If they do not take admission, they are liable to be penalised as per clause 12.2.4(c) of Prospectus 2011. The higher options of candidates who are allotted to the 75 Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the 4th phase of allotment will be cancelled. Nevertheless, this is not applicable to the new colleges included in the 3rd phase of allotment. The notification regarding the fourth phase of allotment will be issued in due course.

Recovering from a failed software update for cell phone

Occasionally things go wrong when using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU). The exact cause is often unknown but it can be caused by the NSU, the phone or even the computer itself.

The aim of this guide is to offer users a few tips and tricks that may aid recovery. The guide applies to most nokia phones, except the hard reset which only applies to S60 smartphones.

So how do you know if an update has failed?

A failure can show itself in a number of ways, the most common one is where the NSU freezes. If it does this during the first part of the process where it downloads the firmware from nokia your phone will be ok. You will see that your phone is still switched on so it's safe to cancel the process or just remove the cable from the phone.

If it freezes during the second phase when the computer is transferring the firmware to the phone this can be much more serious. When this happens leave your phone for at least 15 minutes before taking any further action. If after that time nothing has happened all you can do is pull the cable.

Another failure is where your computer crashes during the second phase. This is usually the worst type of failure and often leaves the phone unrecoverable, but still it's worth trying.

What can I do to recover from this failure?

The first thing to try is to remove the phones battery and leave it out for at least five minutes. Whilst doing this take the opportunity to reboot your computer in case you need it to help with recovery.

Now re-insert the battery and try to switch your phone back on. If it works then all is good but before trying to update again there is a few things you need to check. Make sure that your computer is fully up to date including the latest service pack and disable all non-essential programs that are running. Also disable any anti virus and anti spyware software that you may have, now try again.

If removing the battery failed to make it work then prepare your computer as mentioned above and run the NSU again. Follow all instructions and prompts that it gives you carefully as it may offer to recover your phone. If it doesn't try various combinations of connecting your phone whilst it's switched on, off and also try removing and reinserting the battery whilst it's connected. Make sure you wait in between each attempt to give the NSU time to detect the phone. This classic thread is a good example of someone who succeeded in recovering their phone. It's a good idea to keep trying and trying.

What if that method doesn't work?

The next thing to try is a hard reset. This method only applies to S60 smartphones with keypads (not touchscreens):

1. Switch off the phone.

2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.

3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.

4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.

It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers.

So none of that worked, what happens next?

Unfortunately you have now tried everything possible to recover from the failure yourself. The last thing for you to do now is to contact a nokia care point in your country for help. If your phone is under warranty they will repair it for free, possibly while you wait.

Kochi, Aug 16, 2011: The activities relating to the third phase of allotment under KEAM-2011 will commence on August 21, according to the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations.
He has also informed that the candidates who have received allotment to MBBS/BDS Courses in the second allotment shall join the respective Medical/Dental Colleges on 18th or 19th August 2011. Those candidates who have received allotment to other courses need not join the colleges at this stage.
Medical/Dental Colleges shall furnish the non-joining report to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before 5 pm on 23.08.2011. The CEE has also said that the allotment to Engineering Courses will be subject to the result of the cases pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Kerala.
Those candidates who have received allotment in the second phase shall remit the fees/deposit as specified in their home page at designated branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) on 17th or 18th or 19th August 2011 in order to accept the allotment. The list of SBT branches is available on www.cee-kerala.org.
Those candidates who do not remit the fee/deposit within the stipulated time will lose their allotment and also higher order options.

dual boot vista xp boot loader or boot manager not coming

If you've installed Windows xp on the different partition on your system with windows vista already installed on another partition than you might not get the boot manager or boot loader at startup

Problem is because both vista and xp uses different boot loaders and xp doesn't recognise vista's boot loader. to fix this problem, there are two solutions

1. it's the easiest one

Download and install EasyBCD on your windows xp

This aplication requires .NET framework 2.0 to run, download and install .NET framework 2.0

Now run EasyBCD >Click on add/remove entries and add Windwos xp information and the text you would like to see in boot loader , change the drive from dropdown menu at bottom and select windows xp

Click on add Entry
Click on Save

Now go to manage boot loaders tab
Select the "Reinstall the Vista Bootloader" radio button
click "Write MBR" and restart the system.

This will bring the boot loader back

Option 2.

IF you want to configure it manually than insert the vista dvd in the drive and run the setup
on the setup screen click on Repair your computer option

Follow the steps it ask and in choose recovery tool dialog box select Command prompt
At command prompt give these two commands

Bootrec.exe /fixMBR
Bootrec.exe /fixBoot

Close the command prompt and restart system (boot with vista )

Open command prompt(with admin login) again once system is reboot (right-click and choose "run as administrator")

Give these commands (assuming Vista installed on C: , change C: if vista is installed on any other partition)

bcdedit –set {ntldr} device partition=C:
bcdedit –set {ntldr} path \ntldr
bcdedit –displayorder {ntldr} –addlast
bcdedit -set {ntldr} description "Microsoft Windows XP"

Close the command prompt and restart the syaytem , ur done

hello all...here I would like make a slight explanation that any common student at least good at multiplication and division may digest.First of all if u divide 6 by 2 the result is 3 , how?
Actually its not division working there,but addition...mmmm...right?
come on...when u divide 6 by 3 , u r counting number of 3's to be added to get 2,right?
and its the result u got,that is 2.Therefor to get the resultant of any division just count the number of times u have to add the denominator,ready?
Now let us think about 1/0.If (1/0) = p , then u have to add "0" 'p' times to get 1,right? Now think, how many times u have to add 0 to get 1 ? The answer of this is known as 'infinity'.Similarly (2/0) is infinity as well.Infinity is noway comparable to any other numbers as like a drop of water of or a bucket of water will not rise the sea level...!!!
Therefor (anything/0) = infinity

Now whats about (0/0) ? if (0/0) = m , then u have to add "0" 'm' times to get o, right ? Now think , how many times u have to add 0 to get 0 ? the answer can be 1 , can be 2 , can be 3 , and so on and so forth.Therefor (0/0) can have many answers.That is (0/0) is not infinity but indeterminate....!!!

Android 2.2 Froyo released in Google I/O Conference in San Francisco last week. Android Phone users can download the latest version on their phone but if you are not having Android phone then you can try this platform on your computer. Android development site is having the downloadable version of Android 2.2 Froyo SDK. You can download that file and follow the below mentioned steps to run this latest mobile OS from Google on your computer.
How to Run Android 2.2 Froyo on Windows/Mac/Linux
Minimum Requirement to Run Android 2.2
Java Platform(JDK)
Powerful RAM at least 1GB
Min. 2GB Free Space of HD
Android Running on Computer

Follow below steps to get Android 2.2 platform on Computer
1. Download Android SDK
2. Extract the zipped folder and navigate to “Tools” folder inside the extracted folder
3. Open the script named “Android” from the “Tools” folder
4. If you are already having JDK installed on your computer, then you will see a new admin windows. If now having JDK on your computer, then go ahead and install that from here. After installation of JDK, go ahead and click “Android” script
5. Android script will start he SDK manager. Go ahead and navigate to “Available Packages” menu in the left sidebar options
6. There you will see only one link listed. Check that link and then it will start getting package information from repository. If you are getting a message that “Fetch failed because of https” then go to the Settings” option in left panel and check the box which says “Force to use http for https” and then Come back to “Available Packages” and click on that single item available in the list. That will fetch lot many packages from the repository
7. Now go ahead and check four items shown in the picture below. These items are nothing but the Android 2.2 Froyo OS files. After checking the files, go ahead and click on “Install Checked” at bottom of the window

8. Installation of files will take some time. After successful installation, go to “Virtual Devices” option in left panel and click on “New” in that window. Now you are going to add one device in SDK manager. Go ahead and fill up the new form with the same data as mentioned in the picture below, after that click on “Create AVD”.

9. Remember, Adding device may take some time and even may left your system hanged for few minutes. But you will have to have patience in that interval and don’t restart your computer. Once the device will be added in hat list as “A valid Android Virtual device”, you can click on the “Start” button after selecting the newly added device to start the Android Platform on your computer
10. Done! Now you can use the Android platform on your computer to feel the OS from Google. To use Android applications, you will have to get “Eclipse” on your system as well.
You can install Android 2.1 or older versions as well by selecting the packages for that in the step 7 of the steps mentioned above.
