Recently I attended a luncheon in honor of new members to the organization. Several generations of women, many of whom I grew up admiring were in the room. One of the discussions was about technology. Fifteen years ago no one at the table would have had a cell phone, but today? The question is how many cell phones do you own?

Technology? As a baby boomer, I consider myself "in the game". I am a Blackberry advocate and user. I have taken a BIG bite from the Apple(R) and frequent the Internet regularly. Yes I 'm IN DEEP.

I am not apologizing, I am celebrating! In the game of life I have the ball and playing hard. My philosophy is when I die all my tanks will be on empty! Right now I just let the station with a full tank.

As an entrepreneur it is my duty to be "IN". I provide party planning services across the generations. I can talk with the Millennials (18-30)and have "game", and I can also talk with the previous generations because of my life experiences.

Technology helps TD Sanders & more get the party started. At a networking event there was no music, which equals no atmosphere. I have a black leather backpack that I take everywhere and in it lives MY iPad and all of the accessories. I connected to the amplifier, turned on my Pandora(R), which I subscribe to so there are no commercials,and the party was started! TECHNOLOGY!

Thirty Days of Thanks: Day 2

I am Thankful that I know what Chronos vs Chiros time is and how that affects my life. In MY world Chronos is time on the clock "man's time" and Chiros is not limited by the clock but is "God's time".
Granted we all live by the clock, we have to. We go to work on Chronos, we eat on Chronos, we sleep according to Chronos. I believe that we "LIVE" in Chiros. That is not limited by the tick of the clock but is our experiences which are priceless.
Thirty days of Thanks started in Chronos three days ago on, November 2nd. Becasue I am living in Chiros, this is MY day 2 of Thanks. There are somethings that cannot go by the clock or the calendar, but are in "God's time".
Today I am thankful that I survive by Chronos and LIVE in Chiros. Let's get this party started in Chiros...

In the month of November we celebrate Thanksgiving. This is the tradition that many embrace. Over the years personally I have had many reasons to be thankful but have never collectively thought about WHY?

For the next thirty days (maybe I will start a new habit) I will record the reasons, seasons and life time elements that I give thanks for.

A celebration in my mind where they know me there and LOVE me!

Family is a reason to give thanks. What about those who you have added to your family by way of association. These are the pople who YOU choose and not a chance of biology! But, I must say I and overjoyed at what biology has done in my life!

Just for today, I am thankful for those who have touched my life and made my heart sing, even if it was the blues, it is still a song. Some are very recent and have been added by association with my children, but none the less I love them like they have been in my life always. They know who they are and I love them.

My daily dose friends. There are people I talk with everyday. Then there are those who I have not talked to for a long time but when we connect, it was like we have not missed a beat. Some have moved from our city and some are around the way. My life is a rich blend of people and I like my life spicy so I mix it up. Some young, some old, some new and some... These are those who have contributed to who I am today. Thank you, I know who you are and I am thankful that we have shared together. And if you don't know who you are to me then you are really missing it cause the party has started and someone else is having your piece of the pie!

Today I will... How do you fill in the blank? I have had a birthday and that always makes me reflect. I have had many experiences, highs, valleys, turns, and mountains, but today I will ENJOY the journey!

We are always moving. As the song says: On to the next thing. I am GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY.

If we take time to enjoy the journey, we will have memories that are not blurs, but rich beyond measure. One day I plan to sit on the beach with my favorite beverage and just... Yes, I will take a break, but the party will never stop.

I have three children that are now adults. Each is their own person and I appreciate each one's uniqueness. I enjoyed the journey of getting each to this point in their lives--what a journey. Someone told me that I am now their coach and no longer a parent. Well I have found that you are always parenting no matter how old, maybe it is just me, but WHATEVER.

I am a daughter,sister, wife (yes I DO have a husband--he has braved 30 years and my contract has been renewed),mother, aunt, cousin,and friend. I wear a lot of hats and fill many roles, but the party never stops.

My motto is 'Let's get this party started..." but in reality the party has never stopped and I like it like that.

Yep I am 53 years old and GLAD about it. Not shame to tell it, and not trying to hide from my age. OHHH the journey. There are some bones buried in places that will never be found. There are stories that will never pass my lips, but ohhhh the journey and the party will never stop!

I believe in technology and got my FaceBook game on par, my twitter is tweeting,I am vamping up my blog skills, I can do a mean BBM and have a full conversation and never move my lips--who would have thought? I am a JayZ fan and love 50Cent--yes, I like and understand hip hop, Rick Ross ain't bad either. Maybach Music anyone? The party will never stop.

I have entered some new doors and cracked the window for entry into some new dimensions, but the party never stopped. I am learning from some young Lions with my Seasoned Cougar self, but the party will never stop.

Today I will...enjoy the journey, dream and have vision, be ME ('cause everyone else is taken), share my truths ('cause I have done some living), be of service( 'cause I like to be creative), GO where I am celebrated ('cause I am LOTS of fun), love those who love me and pray for those who don't ('cause they are missing out) continue to be blessed( 'cause God is good all the time and all the time God is good--AMEN church), be "delicious" and most important of all make sure the party never stops for ME or YOU. I suggest hootsuite. This is a free service. You can register ALL your social networking sites in one place. Once registered, hootsuite will make a dashboard of all your sites and then when you log in you can choose what you see. For example, I can see all my fan pages that I manage, my personal profile page, my twitter account on my dashboard--I choose. No more clicking around. It is all side by side and contained in tabs. Efficiencey and it saves time. Life is a hoot with hootsuite--saving you time so you can do what you want to do, not need to do. Need someone to set this u for you? Saturday I had my hair up in a dancers’ bun, Sunday it was curly and free ,Monday I sported an updo. Never once did I shampoo, use a curling iron or flat iron. What kind of hair offers this kind of versatility, Sisterlocks? What is that? First let me tell you what it is not. Sisterlocks are not dreads, extensions or braids. Sisterlocks is a lifestyle of natural hair. Natural hair means not chemically processed.

My friend Danielle kept telling me about Sisterlocks for almost two years. I was considering dreads—because I wanted the freedom of no more chemicals and I saw some men whose hair was just plain “pretty”! I admired this look on them but wondered what would it take for me. Men’s hair grows fast and of course what I was seeing had been 4 or 5 years in the making/growing.I wanted the freedom of dreads, but not the look that associated with negative feedback from the majority culture. A trade in for a Bentley party

Recently I had the golden opportunity to be part of a coaching session with a premier life strategist in our country, Catrice Jackson. From that conversation I developed a life strategy that I will share.

I enjoy a good event, thus my tag line, "Let's get this party started". More important to me than getting the party started is the excellence in services that I provide.

I thought the ultimate vehicle was a Bentley and thus began to think -I am going to operate my business and have a look that matches a Bentley. Now that's a party. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, artistic surroundings--that's a party. The Love's Jazz and Arts Center is an excellent venue for a celebration. Not only will you get to have a celebration to remember at this venue, but you will experience history at its finiest through the artist exhibits. I have done several events at the Love's jazz and Arts Center and it amazes me the number of people who comment that they have never been inside the museum and how "breathtaking" it is. A jewel in our city.
The staff is exceptional. Neville Murray, director, has a rich knowledge of art and history. He extends himself to everyone that enters in. He has stimulating conversation and thought provoking comments and is a joy to interact with every time. Michelle is equally talented and helpful. Kaleb is the "quiet" one, but always on point with his directions for use in the museum.
If you have not had an opportunity to visit the Love's Jazz and Arts Center, then do so. It is located on the block of 24th and Lake Streets in Omaha, Nebraska.
I highly recommend this as a venue for celebrations, as it takes your party, reception, or event to the next level. Culture, fun, food, music and expertise all in one at the Love's Jazz and Arts Center. Tell them that TD recommended YOU!

Saturdays with my Sisters--Let's get this party started...

I met with a group call Saturday with my Sisters, which a part of Wise Women Connect Network.
A chance for Sisters in the Omaha area to get together on a monthly basis to be empowered, eat good food (Spencer's for chops and steaks is the BOMB!)and be with Sisters with a no holds barred good time. No hidden agendas, positive reinforcement and good strokes. A range of ages, a range of backgrounds a range of worklife, but one commonality--we are all SISTERS. Meeting on the fourth Saturday of the month, we connect. Saturday was our first meeting and it had snowed the night before, but we make it to our prospective j-o-b-s when the weather is "bad".
