Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi are in love, and they're taking their relationship to the next level now. Mahesh is believed to be moving from Bangalore to Mumbai to be closer to the star. And Lara is doing all she can to make sure that Mahesh's move goes smoothly. It seems that Mahesh has rented a place very close to Lara's house in the Bandra suburb of Mumbai, and Lara is getting the place ready for Mahesh to move in. Earlier, she had visited the place with him when he decided to take it for sure. And now, she is apparently deciding on the interiors of the house, and also organising getting essential electronic equipment fixed there. Ash brings Salman to Dubai

Just a few days ago, it was Katrina Kaif whose travel plans were affected by the ash clouds from the volcanic erruptions in Iceland. She needed to get to London for her grandfather's birthday but had to cancel her plans because of the air travel chaos caused by the ash. And now it's Salman Khan whose plans have had to be changed because of the ash clouds. In Salman's case, a song shoot for his brother Arbaaz's movie 'Dabangg' has had to be moved from Switzerland to Dubai.Arbaaz posted on his Twitter account about the song to be shot with Salman and the movie's heroine Sonakshi Sinha, "The song we were doing in Switzerland is cancelled because of the volcano and no flights to europe. We will now shoot the same song in Dubai after changing the concept a bit. It is a honeymoon song so an outdoor location is important." So Salman and Katrina were both affected by the same problem. Talk about coincidences and connections!

Sushmita Sen became a proud mommy for the second time recently when she adopted Alisah. And we got our first look at the baby when the star brought her along for the crowning of the winners of the 'I Am Princess' initiative. Sush was at the Bal Bhavan charity for the event, and she showed off Alisah to everyone there. She even handed Alisah over to the kids at the charity so they could play with the baby. Alisah's already a cutie at three months, and she looks like she loves the camera. Just look at the way she's totally unfazed and at home before the camera, must get it from her mom! Sushmita already has another daughter, Renee, who was adopted in the year 2000. And now with Alisah, Sush's family portrait makes for an even more adorable picture.

Shoaib Malik-Sania Mirza get warm welcome in Pakistan

Newly married couple Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza are now in Pakistan for their reception in Lahore. And Shoaib in particular is thrilled by the welcome given to him and his Indian bride in his country. Shoaib and Sania were mobbed by supporters at the airport in Karachi who were very excited to see them together. Shoaib said that he was very happy at the response they received. He added that he hadn't expected they would be given such an overwhelming welcome.Shoaib and Sania flew from Karachi to Islamabad where they stayed at a five-star hotel, and were given a high security cover. There had been doubts that the famous Indo-Pak couple might not be able to travel to Pakistan for the reception there because a fresh case had been filed against them in India for hurting religious sentiments through their marriage. Of course now, with Shoaib and Sania in Pakistan, things are expected to go ahead as planned, with a large number of VIPs expected to attend their reception on Sunday (April 25).The couple will be settling in Dubai in the future. And their new home is going to be in the Palm Jumeirah.

The IPL controversy is getting murkier and murkier, with more and more big names coming under the scanner for allegedly being involved in money laundering, match-fixing, receiving kick-backs and being proxies. But at the Sahara IPL Awards held at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on April 23, the gathering of Bollywood stars and cricket stars were not focusing on the scandal. They were there to honour the best from this year's IPL tournament. And they also showed their support for the man in the middle of one of the biggest scandals ever seen in India - IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.Bollywood representatives at the event included Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, (all three IPL team owners), Arjun Rampal, Karan Johar, Amrita Rao, Sameera Reddy, and many others. Meanwhile, the IPL players were all there too. And there was a lot of bonding going on between everyone.Shilpa Shetty posted a picture of herself with Preity Zinta on her Twitter account and wrote, "Revelry off the field and Rivalry on the field;) ha ha. PZs such a sport!"And what did Preity have to say? She posted on her Twitter account, "It was so nice to see Lalit (Modi) smile despite all hell breaking loose in the media. Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan Saturday revealed he suffers from liver cirrhosis even though he doesn't drink alcohol. The actor said he contracted the disease after his near fatal Friends, relatives, well wishers and the workers and staff of our pharmaceutical factory, all lined up (to give blood). I lived. That was 1982, almost 28 years ago. But in and around the year 2000-2002, a routine investigation threw up a scenario which had hitherto gone undetected," the actor posted on his blog.

Amitabh met with the accident during one of the action scenes in the film 'Coolie'. His surgery required a lot of blood. The urgency of its administration propelled several volunteers to come forward. Two hundred people donated blood and 60 bottles of blood were collected and injected in the actor. But, this caused the problem.
"Some of the blood from an unknown donor was infected with the Australian antigen Hepatitis. This particular infection or mode in a particular blood donor has the unique quality of getting active inside the system after lying dormant for a couple of months.
It was also an unknown hepatitis in 1982 and there were, perhaps due to the urgency of the matter, no known immediate tests to ascertain its existence before it was administered. So it went into my system, festered and attacked my liver.
Eight years ago, during the course of an MRI, they discovered that 25 percent of my liver had been destroyed by it. I was, therefore, technically or shall we say in medical terminology, a patient by default. A patient that had developed cirrhosis of the liver - a condition that is normally associated with that of an alcoholic. So here I was, a non-alcoholic, a teetotaller, with an ailment that I imbibed through a blood transfusion from a donor," he added.
Because of this problem, the 67-year-old actor has to get himself monitored on a regular basis.
"Now since the liver and any ailment associated with it is extremely sensitive, I have to be under constant vigil and monitoring, to keep checking if there is any further damage taking place. A few days back my blood report showed a sudden rise in my liver counts and the doctor felt it necessary to investigate further through an MRI. For me, this is an every three month procedure," Amitabh said.accident while shooting 'Coolie' in 1982.

According to McAfee, fans searching for celebrity downloads, wallpapers, photos or screen savers have a one in five chance of landing at a website that’s tested positive for online threats such as spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware. So searching for the latest celebrity news and downloads can sometimes seriously damage one's computer.The other celebrities on McAfee’s top ten list include M.S. Dhoni, Namitha, Shriya Saran, Harbhajan Singh, Sania Mirza, Asin, Bipasha Basu and Shahid Kapur in that order. "Cricket and Bollywood are two subjects which every Indian is passionate about. Aishwarya Rai has refuted rumours that she was to play the female lead opposite her husband Abhishek Bachchan in Ashutosh Gowariker's next "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se". The actress says that the director knew about her packed schedule and the discussion never took place.Recent media reports suggested that Aishwarya was to play the lead role before Asin was finalised for the film opposite actor Abhishek. But both - the actress and filmmaker - deny it. "I don't have the dates right now as my schedule diary is super packed. This film ('Khelein Hum...') starts next month. Other films competing for their place in the viewers mindspace are "Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna" and "All The Best"."Diwali is mostly for big-budget movies with huge star casts and that is what actually brings in footfalls. Considering the buzz around 'Blue', we are trying to keep the maximum number of shows for it - 16 per day. We have opened advance bookings on Thursday (Oct 8) for the film," Amit Awasthi, manager (programming and operations) of Spice Cinemas at Noida, told IANS. Tusshar Dhingra, COO of Big Cinemas said: "Diwali is a big movie season. Even the audiences expect big releases during this time and are very liberal when it comes to spending during Diwali. We have opened the advance bookings for 'Blue' as of now and will open it for the other two also in a day or two." Anthony D'Souza's directorial debut "Blue" is not only the country's first underwater film but the most expensive too. According to an industry source, producer Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd has splurged Rs.80 crore on its making. It also stars Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan and Katrina Kaif along with Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue in a cameo. "We are expecting the movie ('Blue') to stay at number one on the festive weekend with a terrific initial. While 'Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna' and 'All The Best' will be at the second and the third spot respectively as per our calculations. We are keeping around 13 shows per day for the other two," said Amit Awasthi. Added a source from PVR Cinemas: "It is being distributed by PVR Pictures in North India and we opened the advance bookings for the film from Oct 4 onwards on the Internet and the response so far has been very encouraging." "Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna" is a co-production of Sohail Khan Production and Ronnie Screwvala and is being distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. Made at a budget of around Rs.40 Crore (Rs.400 million), it is releasing with around 1,200 prints worldwide. Dostana’ director gets royal treatment in Thailand

Tarun Mansukhani, director of “Dostana”, was recently invited by the Government of Thailand to be a part of an entertainment expo that was organised by them. They event was held to improve the working relationship between the two countries. The officials wanted Tarun to be a part of the expo as they wanted him to check out a few locations in the country and probably shoot the sequel of “Dostana” there. It was a three-day visit and Tarun had a good time enjoying the hospitality bestowed on him by the Royal family of Thailand. He was invited for dinner by the Royal family. Tarun also indulged in adventure sports like swimming with the sharks. Says Tarun, "It was a pleasant surprise that I was invited by the government of Thailand. They were very hospitable towards me. I also had fun with the sharks. I’m toying with the idea of shooting a few scenes of my next there. Overall it was a good trip."

Amitabh Bachchan spins a magical tune in ‘Aladin’

Amitabh Bachchan may have sung numerous songs for his films but the legendry actor surprised musical duo Vishal & Shekhar while recording a song for Eros International’s “Aladin”’ (pictured above). The song in question is “O Re Saawariya” that is already famous for Big B’s signature pink pagadi and white kurta from his “Namak Halaal” days. The song is sung by Sudesh Bhonsle. While working on the song, at the spur of the moment Amitabh Bachchan came up with an ‘alaap’ and hearing that the music directors Vishal and Shekhar decided to incorporate the ‘alaap’ in the song.Says Vishal, “The alaap at the end of the song was never planned. Mr. Bachchan came up with this impromptu addition which turned out so well that we decided to make it a part of the song.” What impressed everyone all the more, was the fact that Big B, who is not really professionally trained, was able to sing it so well. “Doing an alaap is not easy and requires thorough practice. But Amitji did it wonderfully and that’s really amazing,” adds Vishal.

Another clash of the biggies

It will be a clash of biggies with two major films releasing on the same day - both Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Teen Patti" and Farhan Akhtar's "Karthik Calling Karthik" are scheduled to hit the screens Feb 12 next year.

Starring two acting legends Amitabh and Oscar winning Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley, "Teen Patti" is an emotionally riveting and razor sharp thriller. Set in India and England, the film revolves around greed, deception and imagination.

The film is directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Ambika Hinduja under her banner Serendipity Films.

Directed by Vijay Lalwani, "Karthik Calling Karthik" is about a man who gets phone calls from himself. It is co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment and Amit Chandrra and Vijay Lalwani of Magic Beans.

Way back in 1998, Karan Johar's directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai clashed with David Dhawan's much-hyped Bade Miyan Chote Miyan - both released on the same day. Now a little more than a decade later, history is repeating itself with Wake Up Sid coming face to face with Do Knot Disturb on Oct 2.And Vashu Bhagnani, who has produced both Do Knot Disturb and Bade Miyan Chhote Miya, is surprisingly happy that his film is hitting theatres on the same day as Karan Johar's production."I am really very pleased that both our films are releasing on the same day," Bhagnani told IANS.Doesn't he feel that two much-hyped films should not clash with each other?"I am someone who believes a lot in coincidences. When Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai were released on the same day, there were murmurs even then around which film would eventually succeed. We all know that both the films not just survived each other at the box office but also registered huge numbers. They both met with blockbuster success," he said."Isn't that a coincidence that earlier our film was supposed to release on Sep 25, but then it got postponed by a week to come along with Wake Up Sid? Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor make an "adorable" couple on screen in his forthcoming Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna, says debutant director Prem Soni."The age difference between Salman and Kareena was never a consideration. They make an absolutely adorable couple and complement each other on screen," Soni told IANS over phone from Mumbai."They look good together in the film as there are no loud moments between them. The film has romantic instances here and there, but it has a very subtle treatment. There are cute scenes in the film and both of them have carried them really well," he added.Newcomer Soni considers Salman his "godfather" and says the superstar was on board the project as soon as he heard the script and even asked his brother to produce the film."I had written the script and then fixed an appointment with Salman. His reaction after the narration was overwhelming. All he said was, 'I'm doing it'. That's how the project began," the director said."Salman is indeed my godfather in the industry as he is the one who has given me a break," he added.For Soni, it was a cakewalk to get Kareena to play the heroine. "I went for the script narration to Kareena in Goa where she was shooting Golmaal Returns. She loved the role and when I told her that Salman is doing the film, she said - 'Why would I say no to Salman?.' She instantly agreed," he said."Kareena is such a delight to work with. She is among the finest actors these days. She is so effervescent and dedicated as an actor," he said. A co-production of Sohail Khan Productions and UTV SpotBoy Pictures, the film also features Sohail in a pivotal role. But unlike popular belief, the film's plot is not based on an extramarital affair, Soni clarified.Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna is not based on an extramarital affair. It is just a story of three people. The whole extramarital thing is only a perception. For the real thing, you need to go and check out the movie," he said.Asked about the USP of the movie, Soni said: "Its simplicity. The movie is very ordinary, very simple. It will touch a billion hearts with its real touch and that is what will make the story effective to the audience. We have given it a very contemporary look, but it isn't flashy at all."Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna releases Oct 16, the same day as much-awaited action flick Blue and comedy All the Best, but Soni says he is unperturbed."I have no apprehensions. It takes a lot of energy for every filmmaker to make a movie. So there are no hard feelings for anyone. Aamir and Hrithik to work together

Ghajini producers Allu Arvind and Madhu Mantena are going to make a Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Magadheera and they are reportedly considering Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan to play the main leads."Yes Allu Arvind and I are remaking Magadheera in Hindi. As for the cast, it's too early to talk about it. But Magadheera is definitely being planned to be bigger than Ghajini," Mantena told IANS.Released in July this year, Magadheera has already grossed over Rs 65 crore in India alone and is said to be the second-biggest Telugu hit after Ghajini.With this Telugu remake into Hindi that is expected to take off early next year, Arvind and Mantena hope to raise the bar for action-drama cinema in Hindi once again. The remake, to be budgeted at Rs 70 crore, is highly ambitious. While in the original, which is set in 17th century and present, the hero Ram Charan Teja plays a double role, the remake will split the hero's personality into two parts. Apparently Hrithik will play the samurai from the Middle Ages while Aamir will play his present day avatar.

Olympic medallist takes his first steps in B’wood

Vijendra Singh, world champion boxer, is venturing into showbiz. The Olympic bronze- medalist will debut in Bollywood in the Anand-directed film, entitled One. The screenplay of the movie, which is inspired by true events, is written by Yagnesh Shetty.The boxer will be required to train in martial arts for the action-packed thriller. Yagnesh has taken up the responsibility of preparing Vijendra for the role, “It’s an interesting script and Vijendra is very excited about it. The film also has a lot of action sequences because of its terrorism backdrop. I am currently training vijendra in martial arts and stunts”.Vijendra seemed thrilled about his new project, “I am doing the film. The role suits my image of a boxer. However, I don’t want to reveal too much about the film or my role right now. I will speak when the time is right.”
