It's about time I get back to food blogging.

Today I would like to introduce Plan B to all of you out there who haven't already heard of this cafe.

Plan B is a joint by the BIG group, who also owns Ben's and Ben's General Food Store. Plan B is well known for their coffee and breakfast selection. They remind me a lot of Melbourne's brunch cafes that I often visit. Not only that, I love how the place is decorated. It feels very cosy and definitely a great place to chill with a couple of friends sipping on a cup of latte.

They have a few franchises around KL city but the one I will talk about today is the one in Publika, a new mall in KL.

Just read Plan B's about page and they describe their menu as "Aussie-meets-New-York-deli". That explains the similarity they have with Aussie cafes. Another thing I love about this place is that their coffee is actually really good! I wasn't disappointed at all.

Here are some snaps I took of Plan B:

I went there with a couple of my good friends. One had the Caesar Salad, another had the Scrambled eggs with Hash Browns and I had the Asian style soft shell crab pasta.
All in all, I thought the food was great! My dish was the best I reckon amongst all.

They have a variety of desserts there as well. We were so full up after our food we didn't have the capacity to fit any dessert in our tummies.

There's also an outdoor area for you to chill and dine at.
I thought the interior decoration outside looked awfully familiar with the hanging chairs on the ceiling!
It reminds me of Brother Baba Budan coffee shop in Melbourne!

All in all, I would definitely come back to this place for their coffee and pasta! Not to mention, customer service was brilliant as well!

Ombre Hair

I finally gathered up the courage to bleach my hair again! The last time I did it was back in 2007 and I had a hard time maintaining my hair then. This time around though, I only did it to the ends of my hair so it's not too bad and I can always chop them off if I don't like it.

If you follow me on twitter, you would have known that I was contemplating on whether to dye my hair or not. I've always liked the ombre effect on hair and thought I should give it a go. My cousin who works as a hair dresser was nice enough to do this for me for a very cheap price (approximately Aud 25). You can't even get a hair cut for Aud 25 at a salon. It's so nice to have talented people in your family. I showed Jess some of my inspiration pictures, she did her magic and voila! Ombre hair! :)

If you reside in Kuala Lumpur and would like to go to her for her services please do send me an email. I'd be happy to forward you her details. Her prices are very reasonable, I promise, as she's the sole person working in her small salon.

Here are some pictures I would like to share with you lot.

The bleaching process:

I had to bleach my hair twice because my hair (even after dying it recently) is hard to discolour.

The red/purple/pink dye:

I told her to also dye above the bleached hair area so I could get a more 'natural' effect rather than a big chunk of reddish purple on my hair.

The result of my hair after all that bleaching and dying.

What I wore: Chinese New Year 2012 #1

This year for Chinese New Year I manage to grab some pretty good buys from Kuala Lumpur. Instead of showing them to you like I did here, I thought of making an outfit post or two with the pieces that I bought.

Here are a couple of the outfits that comprise the recent items I bought.

Max-Tino seems to be my favourite choice for well made and affordable dresses. Their dresses' price ranges from RM150 - RM300, which is around AUD 50 - AUD 150. Too bad the brand is not very well known and is hidden inside department stores like Isetan.

Another brand I love recently is Uniqlo. Some said it was good and some said otherwise. In order to not be influenced by what others say, I decided to try it out for myself and boy, I didn't regret any of it.
I was in love with their jeans! Their skinny fit tappered jeans is my favourite. It sits just nicely below your belly button and is slightly high waisted. It looks flattering on almost all body type. Not only that, it is SO comfortable I can live in them everyday. It's really hard for me to find a pair of jeans that I can
re-wear again and again due to my body shape (Cheap Mondays come to a close second) so I was ecstatic when I found them. I loved them so much, I bought 3 pair of jeans at one go. *guilty*

Uniqlo womens' jeans price ranges from RM129 - RM 169 which is around AUD 40 - AUD 65. I think it's really affordable in terms of AUD but I know some Malaysians out there still think it's a tad too pricey.

I've always loved discovering new and upcoming designer brands in the fashion scene. Recently, I have discovered Dea Rosa's amazing Italian made leather fashion accessories. I was asked to do a review on their latest Spring/Summer collection and I couldn't be more excited! I love the colours and designs of their latest accessories. They are so vibrant and colourful. Best of all, they have my favourite all time fashion accessory; large clutches.

New Gadget

Some of you may have noticed the influx of updates on my blog recently.
This is because I got myself a spanking new gadget to play with.

Meet my new Mac book pro:

I've been wanting to get a new laptop for a while now. The only laptop I have is my old Dell inspiron which I bought back in 2004 (8 years!!) and has been made redundant ever since I got an iMac for my 21st birthday.

Even though I have an iPad 2, it's still not enough for me when I travel around. It's also hard for me to edit my pictures on my iPad, hence the lack of updates on this blog whenever I travel.

I had a choice between the Mac Book Air or Pro. Many said that Pro was the way to go because it's much more powerful. I couldn't have agreed more even though I love the sleekness and lightness of the Air.

What I wore: A Shang Wedding

Continuation from this post.

Compared to the bride's reception, the groom's reception was a more relaxed occasion. I had the luxury to properly enjoy the wedding reception and had a great time with those who were there to share their joy. The wedding reception was held at the Shangri-La's ballroom in KL city centre.

The theme of the wedding decoration was sort of Spanish inspired. The wedding dais was set up to look like a garden with pretty pots of plants and huge window panels.
Even though this was a traditional Malay wedding, the setting and dress code was modern/formal.

I had so much trouble looking for a nice long dress. I didn't want to spend too much as well therefore I decided to get my dress in KL. I thought of wearing something ethnic but not too over the top so I opted for a kaftan instead. I was eyeing on a few kaftans that I saw on online fashion stores. In the end, I got this hot pink kaftan by an Indonesian designer from fashionvalet.net.

I love how it flows and drapes around my body.

As a bridesmaid

Remember this post I wrote about a Malay solemnisation ceremony I was part of?

This is a continuation of the post.

It was my first time being a bridesmaid and I was so excited to finally get a chance to be one!

Wearing pretty dresses, getting dolled up and all that.

Little did I know, behind all the glamour, is chaos!

There were so many last minute things to be done.

Collecting materials for the bridesmaid's dress,
finding a good tailor,
getting my measurements done,
booking hair and make up appointments,
shopping for accessories to go with the dress and the list goes on.

Being in Melbourne most of the time didn't help the situation as well. (Both the bride and groom's reception were in Kuala Lumpur). Thank God a friend of mine, Aimi, was there to help me find a good and trustable tailor in back home in KL. Phew, one less thing to worry about.

The bride's wedding reception was held at the Mandarin Oriental's ballroom in the KL city centre. It was only a short walking distance to KLCC so we decided to have our make up done there. Due to the time constraint, we decided to help do each others hair to save time. In between our make up appointment, we had to go for rehearsals as well.

Our make up were done by Burberry's make up artist. I think I look quite different with the make up she put on me. It was really heavy and this is the first time I had so much bronzer on my face!

Even after she was done with my make up, she kept on touching up my make up with MORE bronzer.

But I gotta say, I quite like the bronzer effect on me. It gives a healthy glow to my otherwise, pale face.

The "Pelamin" or better known as the wedding dais, is a usual at a traditional Malay wedding.

I love the colour choice and also the pretty lace for the crop top. I can see myself wearing it again with a pair of high waisted shorts or skirt.

J bought himself a traditional Malay attire in matching colours as my dress just for the wedding:

Ajjie, me, Alia and Vivy, who so kindly brought along a dress I bought at the last minute for the groom's reception.

The bride's heavily embellished dress which was designed by a Malaysian designer. She looked absolutely stunning in it. I especially love the back of the dress:

Even though it was hectic, I had lots of fun with the other bridesmaids. Most of us stayed a night at the Mandarin and had mini sleepover session in our room late at night snacking on McDonald's.

Food:{Wondermilk, Kuala Lumpur}

I've heard of Wondermilk a lot times and whenever I'm back home in Kuala Lumpur. My younger brother have always wanted to bring me there to try their cupcakes since he knows I'm a big fan of sweet things.

It wasn't until recently that I had the chance to visit one of Wondermilk's outlet in Publika, a newly opened shopping mall in KL.

The interior of Wondermilk's cafe is so cute and pretty! :)

It makes you want to eat cupcakes and have a cuppa.

They are well known for their scrumptious cupcakes and novelty cupcake designs.
But I heard their savoury food is good too. My brother raves about their "Sloppy Fries".

With happy people eating happy food. I wasn't hungry when we were there, so I didn't have any cupcake but was admiring their interior decoration instead.

Travel {Photos}: Las Vegas by Night

Finally had the time time to do a travel post.
This is a continuation of Las Vegas by Day post I did a while back.

Las Vegas is very lively at night. Everywhere you go, there is something going on, especially on the strip. We watched two shows during our two nights stay in Vegas. First was David Copperfield's and the other was The Peep Show by Holly Madison (Hugh Hefner's former girlfriend). I have to say I really enjoyed the The Peep Show, and this is coming from a girl. It was quite classy until a half naked men in thongs started grinding his penis right in front of a lady's face who was seated at one of the front VIP tables.

What a sight.

We purchased our dinner before hand at Half Tix. Yup even for food, you can purchase them at a discounted price. The variety of food they had was massive and it was worth the money. The taste wasn't excellent but it was definitely satisfactory.

Boxing Day Gems

Remember this sneak peak picture of my Boxing Day buys I posted on my facebook page not too long ago?

It seems that everything I grabbed during Boxing Day sales was either pink or glittery.

I woke up at 4.45 a.m. on a rainy 26th December morning just so I could reach Myer (a departmental store in Australia) on Bourke Street at 5.30 a.m. Things I would do for shopping is beyond me!

I expected more people in Myer that morning but it was surprisingly quiet. After lunch time, however, it got busier and busier. At first you didn't need to queue up for anything, but after lunch time, the queue to try on clothes was ridiculous. I think some people just grabbed the clothes they wanted and bought them straight away. Apparently Myer offer full refund on any item you purchase if you decide it isn't right for you when you reach home. Pretty neat huh?

I spent 7 hours shopping at Myer and David Jones. Even so, I didn't manage to browse the whole of David Jones. There were too many people by the time I got there. I've heard people say that you get the best deal at both Myer and David Jones so I didn't bother going else where as I was tired and hungry from all the shopping.

Some other items I bought which prices can't be mentioned here because I got them as gifts for friends:

The facial pack for men from Kiehl's was 50% off!
David Jones had the exact same pack without discount.

That is all the items I bought during Boxing Day. I thought I would be buying more stuff than this but I'm proud to say that I was in control and only bought items that I really wanted. :)

In total I saved approximately $300 -$ 350 off the normal retail price of those items above. *woot woot*

It's so warm and hot in Melbourne now on New Year's Eve.
Perfect day for parties and just lazing on the beach.
I will be celebrating with friends on the 1st instead of today.
Today will be a relaxing day for me and I'll be having a quiet countdown at home.

2011 was the year I started blogging actively again and I gotta say, I love every second of it. I've met so many different people on the blogsophere and it's always nice to find someone who shares the same passion or interest as you. Not only that, I've gained quite a number of readers this year and it really did made my year to know that others enjoy reading what I have to say or share.

I'm so proud of my sister, Adrina, who is now a Melbourne University graduate.
Melbourne Uni is one of Australia's top university and is currently ranked as #1.
I didn't manage to make it to Melbourne Uni but I'm glad that one of us did. :)

Accidental Shoeaholic

I was cleaning out my store room on Tuesday and found out that I am a shoe-a-holic!

*insert horror emoticon*

I've always known that I have a lot of shoes, but not THIS many! (o_O)

It wasn't until I lay them all out in my living room that I realised I am, in fact, a shoe-a-holic.
There were some shoes I bought, worn them for a bit, but totally forgotten about them until I found them again on Tuesday.
Wait, these are just my Melbourne shoe collection (which excludes my boots). I also have shoes in Malaysia waiting for me to give them attention.

There were also some recently bought shoes in which I have also forgotten about.
Oh, dear.

Talking about recently bought shoes, I scored this pair of leopard print boots by Lipstick when I was shopping at DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) in Essendon 2 months back.
It was AUD 99.95 but I got them for only AUD 30! Score! :)

Another pair of boots which I scored a while ago in Hong Kong but did not have a chance to share it here. These were bought from Ted Baker at 50% discount.

Almost 70% of the shoes you see in this picture hurts my feet (by the end of the day, I will not be able to walk properly). My feet are kinda crooked in a way, so I tend to get blisters or bruises easily. :(

Such a waste right?
That's why I have decided to give up some shoes that I love but are not in my size or can't fit me properly anymore.

First up are these lovely Melissa flats by Vivinne Westwood which I bought from the L'Oreal Fashion Weekend shopping event that I blogged about here.

These are brand new and I've never worn them before.

Second, is this pair of booties which I adore so so much but are too tight for me. I'm really sad to be letting this go but I thought it should go to someone who showcase them more often.

Hi everyone, I am finally back from Kuala Lumpur and I have so many things that I want to share in this space. Before I do all that, I would like to blog about a recent event that I attended, which is the OPSM Sunshine Tour in Melbourne.

I was contacted on the morning that I arrived to attend this event which was held at Southbank Spillway in Melbourne. Even though I was pretty knackered from flying the night before, I insisted on going to the event cause it sounded pretty awesome.

Free ice cream and sunnies, I'd be silly to pass that on.

The weather was great out and OPSM couldn't have picked a better day for their Sunshine Tour event.
Upon arrival at their ice cream van, I was greeted by Michael, the PR assistant from Luxotticca and Kerrie, who were both so friendly and helpful.

Thanks to Luxottica, I had the opportunity to bring home a pair of sunnies of my choice. There were so many designer brands sunglasses on the table it was really hard for me to pick which one I like.

Michael and Kerrie narrowed it down to Ray Ban Wayfarers and Burberry sunglasses for me.

I loved the Ray Ban's but thought the Burberry ones suit my face shape better so I took the Burberry sunnies home with me. *Yeay!*

After grabbing my new sunnies, I headed over to the photographer's section to get my pictures taken for OPSM's facebook page. They are having a 'face of OPSM' competition where the picture with the most likes win a pair of designer sunglasses.

It was such a fun event, I can't believe I almost decline the invitation. I met some bloggers during the event and they were really nice to talk to. It was my first time meeting other bloggers and I must say, it's really refreshing to get out of my own little bubble and socialise with people who owns a blog.

I met Calvin from Vanity Press (who gave me a business card for his blog! I want one for accidentalencounters now!). This guy has a wicked sense of style, he was dressed almost from head to toe in Topshop!

I also met Sabine from couturing.com who by the way has a sexy French accent and takes really good pictures. She was kind enough to send me a portrait picture she took of me. Thank you Sabine! :)

My magazine obsession started at a very young age. I was 12, to be exact. Can you imagine the amount of boxes filled with magazines that I have now? There's something about magazines that attracts me. I used to buy all sorts of magazines but lifestyle magazine is still my favourite. Madison magazine is one of my favourite Australian magazines that I frequently buy from my local book store. I know I'm not the only one who thinks that the cover of a magazine determines whether you want to buy a magazine or not. For their December 2011 issue, Jessica Gomes is on the cover! *squeals* I love love love Jessica Gomes. I first noticed her when she appeared in a Korean music video 2 years back and now she's the new face of Australia according to Madison magazine. Naturally, when an actress or a model graces the cover of a magazine, there will be a cover story on them. I've always liked reading their cover story so I was very excited to read more about Jessica Gomes in the 'Cover' section of Madison magazine. I find it really inspiring to read on how they became so successful and the struggles they went through to be where they are today. It shows that they are just as human as us ordinary people are.

Besides the 'Cover' story article, I also like the 'Trend' section of Madison magazine. Here is where I get my fashion inspiration from. I love how they mix high fashion with high street items on a particular 'Trend' page so their readers, like me, can see the difference in pricing of similar items. This makes it easier for me when I shop in stores because I can compare my choices beforehand.

Also, I like how they published the price of designer items for their readers. Some magazines don't publish them and I usually won't bother going in store and ask how much it is because for one, if they don't publish the price, it means it is too expensive for me to purchase and two, I will most likely save up for a designer item if I know the price without the hassle of going in store to ask the price and only to leave the store empty handed and intimidated because I can't afford it.

Talking about designer items, I love this purple Gucci 1973 flap bag Madison magazine featured on the 'Trend' section. If I can be discipline and save up, I can probably get this next year. That is IF, I can ever be that disciplined.

Now, if you would excuse me, I am going to continue reading my magazine and get my Christmas presents list sorted.

Rusty's First Birthday!

It felt like just yesterday when we first met Rusty and I wrote about him in this post.
Can't believe he turned 1 today! :) (He was only 3 months old when we got him)

Mom and I decided we should do a mini celebration for him so we got him a cake.

Since he loves carrots and apples, we got him a carrot and apple party cake from pawzbakery.
Rusty finished his portion of the cake in less than 5 minutes! That shows how much he loved the cake!
Thanks to a dear friend who recommended pawzbakery to me.

Food: {Miss Chu}

That picture of the little girl above in black and white is none other than the rice paper queen in Melbourne, Miss Chu.

Miss Chu is a hip and cool tuck shop style restaurant which serves awesome Vietnamese finger food.

Rice paper rolls and Vietnamese vermicelli salad are amongst the popular selection from their menu.

My friend Cheryl have always wanted to try this place but it wasn't until recently that we've decided to give it a go. Boy, we weren't disappointed at all!

Miss Chu is located at:

We were at Miss Chu during lunch time and it was so crowded! The line to order for dine in and take away was pretty long. But it was definitely worth the wait. I recommend going to Miss Chu after lunch hours or before, so that you can enjoy your food better as well as their interior decoration.

Again, thumbs up for this dish! It was so flavoursome, sweet, tangy and spicy at the same time.

Even though all our dishes were great, THIS was the highlight of Miss Chu for me.

On the 11.11.11, one of my best and longest friends finally got married!
I'm very happy for Shura & Zamir to have finally tie the knot. Love these love birds to bits :)
This also explains the lack of updates on my blog. :( I was busy running errands and getting ready for her wedding.

It was also my first time at a Muslim Solemnisation ceremony and guess what? I got to be one of the 'Dulang' girls, 'dulang' basically means 'tray' in Malay. The whole ceremony was beautiful and I'm so glad I get to be part of it!

The 'Dulang' girls were given cloth for us to make a Malay traditional dress with. I absolutely love the colour. However, I was a bit skeptical on how it might look on me, since pastel isn't the best colour for my body shape. I was really happy with the final product. It turned out better than I expected! Thanks to Aimika, who went through all the trouble to help me get my dress done on time while I was in Melbourne

Now, let's talk about Shura's wedding dress.
It was traditional but with a modern twist to it.
I love the Camelia cut out lace and also the light touches of ostrich feathers to her dress.
