COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION (I) 2012

Union Public Service Commission will be conducting Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2012 on 12th February, 2012 (Sunday) at 41 Centers all over India as per notification dated 29th October, 2011. The Commission has introduced the facility of generating e-Admit Card (Admission Certificate) for this Examination for convenience of candidates. The candidates can download their Admission Certificate from the Union Public Service Commission website http ://www.upsc.gov.in . Candidates are advised to take the printout of the Admission Certificate and produce the same for appearing at the allotted venue for this examination. No paper Admission Certificate will be sent by post.

In case the photograph is not printed/available on the e-Admit Card (Admission Certificate), candidates are advised to carry three (3) photographs (one identical photograph for each session) alongwith proof of identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and printout of e-Admit Card (Admission Certificate) at the venue of the Examination.

GPAT 2012 exam rest will be organized by the M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara-390002 throughout the country on behalf of the AICTE, New Delhi.

Online applications are invited for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination 2012 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/ Dental Courses in all Medical/ Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRA PRADESH and JAMMU & KASHMIR

Eligibility

(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN
NATIONAL.

(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

(iii) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates.

Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing plus two examination in 2012 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.
A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2012 whose result is awaited, may also apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of allotment by personal appearance.

Examination Pattern

The entrance examination consists of:
Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

Final Examination: (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination). The Final Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 results for admissions in Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other institutions have been declared on January 11.

One can access the results on IIM portal www.catiim.in. One can access results by logging on to the website with their CAT registration number and email address.

IIMs and other institutions have also started free helplines as last year, the website where results were declared had crashed within three hours of the announcement. These helpline numbers would also be beneficial for those students who don’t have internet access or have connectivity problems.

CAT was conducted between October 20 and November 18 last year in 68 test centres across 36 cities.

CAT Results Will Declare 11 January, 2012

CAT 2011 results will be declared on Wednesday, 11 January, 2012. This will decide the fate of more than 2 lakh CAT applicants who wrote CAT 2011.

The shortlisting process for GD-PI WAT by IIMs and other top B-schools will start after the results will be declared. Students can access detailed information about the next step of shortlisting procedures from the official website of CAT 2011 which will be updated few days before declaring the results.

The applicants scoring high percentiles will be able to make entry to top 25 b-schools whereas those failing to do so will have to start applying to other management institutes. If the students have appeared for XAT 2012 by then, they can keep their fingers crossed as XAT 2012 results are expected to be declared on January 31, 2012. Other exams coming up include MAH CET 2012, which provides admission to Maharashtra based b-schools.

DHSE Kerala Exam Schedule 2012

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Kerala has published the Date Sheet for HSE (Plus 2), VHSE (Vocational) and SSLC Examinations 2012. Kerala HSE and SSLC as well as theory examination under vocational category will start from 12th March, 2012 and conclude on 24th March, 2012. Practical for VHSE are scheduled to begin from 10th February, 2012 and conclude on 9th March, 2012. The date sheet is made available on the official website of DHSE: http://dhsekerala.gov.in/.

Time table for Secondary (SSCE) and Higher Secondary (HSCE) Examination, March 2012

The Date sheet for Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) class Xth and class XIIth Examinations has been announced. The Gujarat Board Exam Schedule 2012 are available from the links given below.

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has declared the Date sheets for the year 2012. The SSCE Exam 2012 will commence on the 6th of March, 2012 (Tuesday) and it will conclude on the 19th of March, 2012 (Monday). The Duration of the examination is from 10:00 am to 1:35 pm (3 hours 35 minutes).

The HSCE Exam 2012 will commence on the 13th of March, 2012 (Tuesday) and it will conclude on the 21st of March, 2012 (Wednesday). The Duration of the examination is from 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm (3 hours 15 minutes).
