Well what a day I had yesterday. Met up with my BBF Dianne Brill and we went and saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo....not for the faint of heart. I can't wait to see The Artist the silent film and I've tried several times to start Money Ball but just can't get thru the first 15 min.

Thank God Ruby didn't have our shade of lipstick on....she would have glowed in the dark too....

Oh I can't wait for the Oscars....My money is on Meryl Steep for her role as The Iron Lady....

I did see the Ides of March....My God it is good. Especially with the election gearing up in the US for the bid for President.

Looks like it is Obama again all the way. Gingrich is good but way to right wing...no abortion rights for women....And, there is something about Mitt Romney that I just don't trust. Where are the Independents? No where on the Map. Unless something Earth shattering occurs -- I'm voting for Obama.

I had a lovely Christmas, school got off with a bang for the kids *not always a good thing

....and James is playing golf in Australia thank God for Face Time what would we do without Mac?

We spent a lovely weekend in the Alps with good friends and the snow was refreshing -- I'm glad it finally arrived here in Switzerland ! Our poor tourism industry.... speaking of -- has anyone seen those goofy ads for Zurich on CNN? Man they are so funny.

Our Christmas Card for this Year

Back home in Switzerland after a 4 day break for the American Holiday Thanksgiving -- I did not take my precious kids out of school -- as Thanksgiving is not a holiday here in Switzerland and they were really missed by all our family. We celebrate every year and family is the foundation of our lives. It was so nice to return home kiss my children and now we look forward to celebrating Christmas in grand fashion as we love to cook and decorate. I've got gingerbread making to do (I make a whole house), Christmas cookies and much much more.

My nieces gave me 25 Manners Every Kid Should Know by age 9 for Roman and Ruby because we made all our kids in our family go thru these basic rules. Now finally they are on a website 25 Manners Every Child Should Know by Age 9

My sister gave Roman and Ruby Butterfly Larvae to hatch over Easter and I adored the website Hatching Butterflies I think it makes the best Christmas gift or Birthday gift for kids to learn about our environment. Now it is important to note that when doing this as a gift idea, butterflies must reamin indigenous to the area in which you live to protect the environment.

Something very interesting and a controversial topic right now in Texas is the new familial-DNA that is being used to catch criminals. DNA can be used going as far back to the 1980's to catch criminals of violent crime and it is working. I back this type of investigation even though it compromises my privacy. In the world we live in now, there are no secretes and everyone eventually get's caught. This is amazing news. familial DNA to catch criminals

Seems like the gift everyone is craving this year is the iphone 4S and I have to say having Siri is about the coolest thing I've ever experienced. Steve Jobs was a great man -- full of great ideas check out Siri for the iphone 4S What I also love about the new operating software is Face Time that makes Skype seem like an old black telephone.

I love the information age.

5. I love doing arts and crafts, school projects and going to the hardware store.

Shawne Fielding hat ein sehr enges und liebevolles Verhältnis zu ihrer Familie. Ihr Vater Georg Fielding hat ein MBA und einen Master in Erziehungswissenschaften. Captain George Fielding diente über vierzig Jahre in der US Navy. Shawne Fieldings Mutter Nancy Storrs hat ebenfalls einen Master in Erziehungswissenschaften und arbeitete über vierzig Jahre als Lehrerin. Shawne Fieldings Eltern leben beide in Texas und besuchen ihre Tochter sehr oft in der Schweiz.

Der Vater von Shawne Fieldings Mutter war Dr. Charles L. Sonnichsen, aus Friesland, Deutschland. Er studierte an der Harvard Universität und dozierte an der Universität von Texas Literatur. Dr. Sonnichsen war der Erste, der über vierzig historische Bücher über die Süd-West Kultur von Nordamerika schrieb. Shawne Fielding hat immer noch viele Verwandte in Deutschland, die mit ihrem Grossvater mütterlicherseits verwandt sind.

Shawne Fieldings Grossvater väterlicherseits war Dr. Walter Schweditzky, polnischer Herkunft und Ingenieur, der an der Universität von Berlin studiert hat. Er arbeitete in Peenemuende an internen Lenkungssystemen. Im Jahr 1945 kam er zusammen mit Walter von Braun nach Huntsville Alabama, wo sie an der aufkommenden Weltraumtechnologie arbeiteten. Dr. Walter Schweditzky war Verantwortlicher Forscher für das Überwinden der Schallgrenze. Shawne Fielding hat ebenfalls viele Verwandte hier in Zürich, die mit Walter Schweditzky verwandt sind, sowie mit ihrem Onkel Walter Schweditzky Jr., ein Anwalt, der Shawne Fielding des öfteren in Zürich besucht.

Shawne Fielding ist die älteste von vier Kindern. Sie studierte an einer der besten Nordamerikanischen Universitäten, der Southern Methodist University, und schloss mit einem Bachelor of Arts in Advertising und Psychologie ab. Shawne Fieldings achtzehn Monate jüngere Schwester Augusta Grace Cushman ist seit über zwanzig Jahren mit ihrem High School Freund verheiratet und hat drei Kinder. Ellery und Madeline nahmen an Shawne Fieldings Hochzeit teil und der Jüngste, Jack Cushman, ist gleich alt wie Shawnes Tochter Ruby. Augusta Cushman besitzt einen Universitätsabschluss in Kinderentwicklung und Sozialarbeit. Sie ist ebenfalls eine vom Staat zugelassene und geprüfte Pflegemutter, die sich um Kinder aus traumatischen Verhältnissen kümmert, wie um ihre eigenen. Shawne Fielding besucht ihre Schwester Augusta sehr oft, vor allem zu den Feiertagen wie Weihnachten und Ostern. In den langen Sommerferien trifft sich die ganze Familie, da es wichtig ist, den Kindern eine intakte Familienstruktur zu zeigen, sowie Liebe, Respekt, Kultur und Sozialverhalten.

Shawne Fieldings jüngerer Bruder Chase Cunningham ist Marketing Direktor von Net Jet North America und besitzt einen Master der Universität Denver. Seit 2008 ist er mit der Anwältin für Zivilrecht, Tracy Hurst Cunningham, verheiratet. An ihrer Hochzeit übergab Roman Borer-Fielding die Ringe und Ruby war eines der Blumenmädchen. Shawne Fielding hat ein sehr enges Verhältnis zu ihrem Bruder und nimmt auch jährlich an der Gedenkfeier zu Ehren der ermordeten Schwester von Tracy teil. Onkel Chase und Tante Tracy haben noch keine Kinder, doch Shawne Fielding freut sich schon jetzt auf weitere Cousins für ihre beiden Kinder, da ihr Bruder und seine Frau sehr solide familiäre Wertvorstellungen pflegen.

Shawne Fieldings sieben Jahre jüngerer Bruder heisst Charles Matthew Fielding. Er hat einen Sohn in Roman Borer-Fieldings Alter, Cameron. Charles ist ebenfalls ein Ex Navy Soldat und liebt es zu reisen. Er war schon einige Male in der Schweiz und liebt es mit Kindern zu basteln und ihnen die Welt zu erklären.

Shawne Fieldings leiblicher Vater Gary Cunningham ist auch der Vater von Chase Cunningham. Ihre Eltern, Nancy Sonnichsen und Gary Cunningham, liessen sich scheiden als Shawne noch nicht einmal ein Jahr alt war und heirateten gleich darauf wieder. Nancy Sonnichsen Storrs heiratete George Fielding und Gary Cunningham Lola Cunningham.

Shawne Fielding pflegte weiterhin einen sehr engen Kontakt mit ihrem leiblichen Vater, obwohl sie von George Fielding adoptiert wurde. Sie hat zu ihren beiden leiblichen Eltern eine sehr enge Bindung. Gary Cunninghams Bruder Kirk Cunningham hat ebenfalls Kinder im Alter von Shawne Fieldings Kinder. Mit ihren beiden Cousins Chad und Lance Cunningham hat sie ebenfalls ein sehr herzliches inniges Verhältnis. Chad Cunningham hat drei Kinder im Alter von Roman und Ruby Borer-Fielding.

Shawne Fieldings Stiefmutter Lola Cunningham wird herzlich als „Mom“ betrachtet und hat zwei Schwestern, Kay und Chris, zusammen haben sie sechs Kinder. Diese wiederum haben vierzehn Kinder, die ebenfalls in Romans und Rubys Alter sind. Lola (Mom) und die Eltern von Kay und Chris sind grossartige Grosseltern für Roman und Ruby. Sie wohnen alle im Bundesstaat New Mexico und haben regelmässigen Kontakt zu Roman und Ruby.

Das familiäre Verhältnis der Cunninghams ist sehr eng. Sie veranstalten zweimal im Jahr ein grosses Treffen, wo auch Shawne Fielding mit ihren Kindern immer teilnimmt. Dort treffen Roman und Ruby auf ca. zwanzig gleichaltrige verwandte Kinder. Für Shawne bedeutet eine grosse Familie sehr viel, da sie selber aus einer solchen stammt. Ihre beiden Eltern waren schon sehr oft in der Schweiz, um sie und ihre Kinder zu besuchen.

Was die stabilen Familienverhältnisse anbelangt gibt es nur eine sinnvolle Möglichkeit, Shawne Fielding muss die volle Obhut ihrer beiden Kinder Roman und Ruby zugesprochen werden. Sie war und wird immer erstens ihre Mutter, zweitens gute Hausfrau, drittens Gesellschafterin und viertens eine Charity Lady sein.

Having had about 2 years to plan the perfect house for our family's needs -- we all agreed on one and searched...then found it! This one is less than half the size of the one I built or re-built when I was pregnant with Ruby. But that Villa turned out to be to big and scary for the kids. Kids don't need an Embassy they need a home....

We are looking for a lovely piece of land in the beautiful undulating hills of Schywz on the boarder of Richterswil next to my children's school in Wadenswil where all of my children's friends live. We love our community in Schwyz we never want to leave.

I'm bidding on architects to do the job. If anyone knows of a good one please let me know. My kids and I love the country, fresh air, plenty of neighbors just like we have here now in Baech. We love hearing cowbells while counting sheep :)

I love the holidays, anyone that knows me knows that I celebrate everything from Valentine's Day to August 1st. I decorate for every occasion mainly because I love seeing the kids faces when they come home from school and the house is turned into a Haunted House or a Christmas Grotto -- we won't even go into what I am capable of for birthdays -- that is is an entire other blog!

This is the history of Halloween from Wikipedia and it is pretty much spot on.

In my family we use it to celebrate the change of seasons -- Fall is ending and Winter is coming and it is lovely family holiday to spend with my little one's carving pumpkins, making decorations and picking out and or making costumes.

History

Historian Nicholas Rogers, exploring the origins of Halloween, notes that while "some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead calledParentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain, whose original spelling was Samuin (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)".^[1] The name of the festival historically kept by the Gaels and Celts in the British Isles is derived from Old Irish and means roughly "summer's end".^[1]^[2]^[3]

According to the Oxford Dictionary of English folk lore: "Certainly Samhain was a time for festive gatherings, and medieval Irish texts and later Irish, Welsh, and Scottish folklore use it as a setting for supernatural encounters, but there is no evidence that it was connected with the dead in pre-Christian times, or that pagan religious ceremonies were held."^[4]

The Irish myths which mention Samhain were written in the 10th and 11th centuries by Christian monks. This is around 200 years after the Catholic church inaugurated All Saints Day and at least 400 years after Ireland became Christian.^[4]

High Noon im Bundeshaus. Kurz nach Mittag fragte gestern Aussenminister Joseph Deiss mit fester Stimme vor einer riesigen Medienschar: «Kann Botschafter Borer unter den gegebenen Umständen heute noch wirkungsvoll und würdig, mit der nötigen Gelassenheit und Glaubwürdigkeit seine Mission erfüllen?»

Die Antwort kam deutsch und deutlich. «Nach reiflicher Überlegung bin ich zur Überzeugung gelangt, dass Botschafter Borer als Missionschef nicht mehr tragbar ist.»
Deshalb blieb ihm nur, dem Bundesrat den Antrag um die Versetzung in die Zentrale per Ende April zu unterbreiten.

Der Bundesrat folgte Deiss einstimmig. Kein Wunder, denn was der Aussenminister gestern über Borers Verhalten in den letzten Tagen auf den Tisch legte und die BLICK-Recherchen erleichterten allen Bundesräten den Entscheid.

Schon am vergangenen Mittwoch hatte Deiss den ausser Rand und Band geratenen Botschafter aufgefordert, die Mauritius-Ferien abzubrechen und nach Bern zu kommen. Borer verweigerte sich. Grund: Seine Frau sei krank und deshalb nicht reisefähig.

Bundesrat Deiss fiel am Sonntag nach der Rückkehr aus Zentralasien aus allen Wolken, als er sah, wie strahlend sich die «nicht reisefähige» Shawne Fielding auf Mauritius von der «SonntagsZeitung» ablichten liess.

Am Montag erfolgte eine neue Aufforderung, sofort abzureisen. Borer verweigerte sich erneut.
Nicht genug damit! Bundesrat Deiss hatte seinem Enfant terrible mehrmals die Hand für eine einvernehmliche Lösung ausgestreckt. Doch Borer schaltete auf stur.

Borer hätte einen valablen anderen Botschafter-Job erhalten, wenn er es gewollt hätte: nicht in Tirana oder Taschkent, sondern in attraktiveren Gefilden. Er schlug das Angebot aus.

Borer hätte sich freiwillig versetzen lassen können. Er war sich zu gut dafür.

Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch illoyales Verhalten: Borer missachtete abgemachte Sprachregelungen mit dem EDA, etwa, indem er zum wilden Rundumschlag gegen Journalisten und das Verleger-Ehepaar Ringier ausholte.
Kein Wunder konnte Joseph Deiss gestern seine Verärgerung nicht ganz verbergen.

Jetzt muss der abgehalfterte Botschafter die Koffer in Berlin packen und in Bern kleinere Brötchen backen. Er kann zwar weiterhin auf seinen Vertrag mit dem Bund pochen. Aber nach all dem, was vorgefallen ist, wird Borers Job in Bern eher subalterner Natur sein, kaum nach seinem Gusto.

Offen ist auch, ob er in Bern weiterhin über 200 000 Franken verdienen wird. Gut möglich, dass Borer von sich aus kündigt.

Und wie gehts in Berlin weiter? Vorerst übernimmt die Nummer 2 der Botschaft, Minister Emanuel Jenny, die Geschäfte als Chargé d’Affaires. Und Bundesrat Joseph Deiss muss sich einen neuen Botschafter in der lebenslustigen deutschen Metropole suchen.

Ein Drehbuchautor hätte Mühe gehabt, den Stoff als fiktives Manuskript zu verkaufen. „Bisschen viel von allem“, hätte der Produzent vermutlich gesagt.

Vor fast genau einem Jahr ging in der Traumkulisse eines Luxushotels auf Mauritius ein Live-Drama in die Endphase, gegen das die meisten Soap-Operas wie Schlaftabletten wirken. Mitwirkende: die schöne Shawne Fielding, ihr Mann, der konfliktfreudige Schweizer Botschafter Thomas Borer, skandallüsterne Boulevardjournalisten, ein Außenminister, der dem Druck eben dieses Boulevards nicht standhalten kann und ein schwarzhaariges Luder, das in diversen eidesstattlichen Erklärungen eine erstaunliche Bandbreite zwischen „heißem Sex mit dem Botschafter“ und „gar keinem Sex mit dem Botschafter“ präsentiert.

Heute stellt Ex-Botschafter Thomas Borer das Buch zum Skandal mit dem sinnigen Titel „Public Affairs“ vor.

Ostersonntag vergangenes Jahr titelte der zum Schweizer Ringier-Konzern gehörende „Sonntagsblick“ mit der Zeile „Borer und die nackte Frau“ die Story über eine angebliche außereheliche Beziehung des Botschafters.

Auf Mauritius bricht die Hölle los. Borer und seine Frau weigern sich, eingeflogenen Reportern der „Bunten“ ein Interview zu geben. Auch der Aufforderung seines Außenministers, umgehend zum Rapport in die Schweiz zurückzufliegen, kommt der Botschafter nicht nach. Er wolle seine Frau nicht allein lassen, die in all der Aufregung ihr ungeborenes Kind verloren habe.

Außenminister Josef Deiss, der einem der konservativsten diplomatischen Corps in ganz Europa vorsteht, ist mit seiner Geduld am Ende. Er hat mit ansehen müssen, wie die Borers mit großen Auftritten und unerhörten Festen zum glamourösen Mittelpunkt der Berliner Gesellschaft aufstiegen, hatte sie in Illustrierten in ausgefallenen Kostümen gesehen und Shawne im Minirock vor der Nationalflagge. Nun zieht Deiss seinen Botschafter aus Berlin ab. Der plädiert auf „unschuldig“, vermisst Loyalität und quittiert seinerseits den diplomatischen Dienst.

Borer lässt sich in Potsdam als Unternehmensberater nieder, in der Villa Kampffmeyer, einst Schauplatz für den Austausch von Spionen. Wenige Wochen später erklärt das angebliche Botschaftsluder, das inzwischen teure Designerklamotten trägt und sich seine Nase hat richten lassen, nie eine sexuelle Beziehung mit Borer gehabt zu haben. Am 11. Juli trennt sich Ringier vom Sonntagsblick- Chefredakteur. Drei Tage später entschuldigt er sich im Sonntagsblick und zahlt eine Abfindung in Millionenhöhe.

Später taucht noch ein dubioser Geschäftsmann auf, der von Borer „Auslagen“ für das angebliche Luder zurückverlangt. Nach einem nächtlichen Polizeieinsatz, in der Villa Kampffmeyer, bei dem eine Pistole eine Rolle spielt, wird es still um das einstige Glamourpaar. Shawne wird wieder schwanger und verbringt einige Zeit in ihrer texanischen Heimat. Auf Festen werden die beiden nur noch sehr selten gesehen. Echte Nachfolger haben Borer-Fieldings nicht gefunden. Diese prickelnde Mischung aus Politik und Glamour, aus Sex und Crime, aus gleichzeitig berechnendem und völlig laienhaftem Umgang mit den Medien muss man erstmal hinbekommen. Nicht ausgeschlossen, dass dem Fall auch wieder ein Aufstieg folgt. Über kein Paar wurde landesweit so viel geredet wie über den Schweizer Botschafter und seine Frau. Der Film zum Buch wird ganz bestimmt nicht lange auf sich warten lassen.

A day in the life in Switzerland

A lot of people ask me why in the world we stay here when we've been treated so strangely by the --system so far. Well, we are Swiss is my only answer and we are going to stay Swiss and stick this out. We are under very strange circumstances being harassed by a media pro, top lawyer and international dragon slayer. But, none the less...I've been here for over 15 years and this is our home for me and my children. Yes, I do not have access to my family fortune, nor do I have something called obhut over my children and I was evicted from my home but life goes on.

The truth is that everything eventually comes to light and it all comes out in the wash.

I love my life with my children here in Switzerland. Just to give you a small taste of what we love about it -- have a look at last weekend.

Switzerland has a great high standard of living, great place to raise children, safe -- stable government etc. Zurich is always number 1 or number 2 after Geneva on top cities to live in the world.

The public schools are great, the people are great and it is centrally located in Europe. The weather is all seasonal and Switzerland has so much to offer....have a peek.

Als der Jura ein Stück Berner Seele annektierte

Der Unspunnenstein wurde vom Kultur- zum Diebesgut

Es tut der Berner Seele immer wieder ein bisschen weh: Der Unspunnenstein ist mittlerweile wohl auch ein Kulturgut der Jurassier. Haben ihn die Béliers doch bereits zwei Mal gestohlen. 1984 war die Empörung über diese und weitere Schandtaten der jurassischen Sturmböcke gross. 2005, nach dem zweiten Diebstahl, glätteten sich die Wogen schneller.

Wo mag er nur sein? Der Stein mit der wohl bewegtesten Geschichte, das Kulturgut, der «Fielding-Stein», unser Unspunnenstein. «Nach letzten Erkenntnissen soll er sich gar in New York befinden», erzählt Peter Michel, selbst Unspunnensteinstösser und Präsident des Turnvereins Interlaken, des rechtmässigen Eigentümers des Unspunnensteins. «Die Bestrebungen, den Stein ausfindig zu machen, haben wir vergangenes Jahr eingestellt.» Die Suche nach dem verlorenen Unspunnenstein ist eine finanzielle Frage und der TV Interlaken ist zudem nicht politisch aktiv. «Für den Turnverein Interlaken hat der gestohlene Stein sicher noch eine hohe Bedeutung als Kulturgut», so Michel weiter. «Seine Bedeutung als Sportgerät hat er allerdings verloren, da er mittlerweile zu leicht ist.» Um rund zwei Kilogramm haben ihn die Béliers erleichtert, nachdem sie ihn 1984 ein erstes Mal entwendeten.

Eine Tat von Lausbuben

«Ein Symbolklotz deutschschweizerischer Kraftmeierei.» Das stelle der Unspunnenstein für die Béliers dar. So lauteten die Erklärungsversuche im Oberländischen Volksblatt vom Mittwoch, 6. Juni 1984, drei Tage nachdem die militante jurassische Jugendorganisation den geschichtsträchtigen Stein aus dem Touristikmuseum in Unterseen entwendet hatte. «Man möchte den Raub des Unspunnensteins gerne als Lausbubenstreich abtun und halb belustigt, halb verdrossen zur Tagesordnung übergehen, wenn in den Wochen zuvor mit Rauchpetarden und gefällten Hochspannungsmasten eben nicht auch eine kriminelle Komponente der jungseparatistischen Spektakelaktion zutage getreten wäre», ist weiter zu lesen.

Ein erzürntes Volk

Im Frühsommer 1984 zeigten sich die Béliers von einer äusserst aktiven Seite, die Anschlagsserie fand ihren Höhepunkt im Diebstahl des Unspunnensteins. «Mit diesem neusten Akt haben die Béliers in den letzten paar Wochen bereits viermal von sich reden gemacht: Zuerst sprengten sie Elektrizitätsmasten bei Büren im Berner Seeland, dann attackierten sie die Zürcher Börse mit Rauchpetarden, und am Freitag zerstörten sie das Soldatendenkmal von Les Rangier, den 'Fritz'.» Der Unspunnenstein war der letzte Streich – vorerst. Die Aktionen waren allesamt dazu gedacht, die «Wiederherstellung der Grundfreiheiten im Südjura» zu erpressen. Die Empörung ob der Untaten der «Sturmböcke», so die deutsche Übersetzung von Bélier, war gross. «Sympathien schaffen sich diese Hitzköpfe unter den Jurassiern mit solchen sinnlosen Taten nicht. Zu hoffen ist, dass sich die Regierung des Kantons Jura unmissverständlich von ihnen distanziert und hart durchgreift», schrieb das OV kurz nach dem Diebstahl. Die arglistige Entwendung des Unspunnensteines am helllichten Tag veranlasste die Grossräte und die damalige Grossrätin aus dem Berner Oberland Ost zu einem Brief an den jurassischen Regierungsrat.

Die Freude war bei allen Beteiligten gross, als der Unspunnenstein 2001 wieder in der Heimat ankam. Auch wenn ihn nun zwölf Europasterne zierten und er nicht mehr als Sportgerät zu gebrauchen war.

Eine heisse Spur

Der Einfluss der politischen Behörden auf die Béliers hielt sich allerdings in Grenzen. Immer wieder machten die jurassischen Separatisten durch gezielte Anschläge, meist im Kanton Bern, von sich Reden. So rissen sie 1986 die Justitia vom Sockel des Gerechtigkeitsbrunnens in Bern, ramponierten 1989 das Soldatendenkmal von Les Rangiers erneut und brannten im selben Jahr eine alte Holzbrücke bei Büren an der Aare nieder. Wo sich der Unspunnenstein während all dieser Jahre befand, war nicht auszumachen. Willy Zimmermann stand mehrmals in Kontakt mit Vertretern der Béliers, die Antwort blieb jedoch immer negativ. Bis 1999 der Fotograf Michael von Graffenried bei Fotoarbeiten mit den Béliers auf den vermissten Unspunnenstein stösst. Im belgischen Charleroi, in einem Weinkeller. Von Graffenried verkauft die Aufnahmen an das Schweizer Fernsehen und an die Schweizer Illustrierte. Willy Zimmermann ist sich ziemlich sicher, dass es sich um den echten Unspunnenstein handelt. Doch erneute Kontakte mit den Béliers bringen ihn nicht weiter. Wegen der heissen, neuen Spur beschliesst der Turnverein Interlaken im Jahr 2000, ein Komitee zur Wiederbeschaffung des Unspunnensteins einzusetzen.

Eine plötzliche Rückkehr

Das vermisste Kulturgut taucht denn auch kurze Zeit später auf: Am 11. August 2001 wird der Unspunnenstein der damaligen Expo.02-Botschafterin und Frau von Botschafter Thomas Borer, Shawne Fielding, übergeben. Als Bonbon verpackt, am Marché Concours in Saignelégier. Er wird vom Turnverein Interlaken als der echte Stein identifiziert, und nur drei Tage später, am 14. August, findet auf der Höhematte ein grosses Übergabefest statt. Doch für Wettkämpfe ist der Stein nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Die Béliers haben ihre Spuren auf dem schweren Koloss hinterlassen: Zwölf Europasterne, das Datum der Europaabstimmung, den 6. Dezember 1992, sowie ihr eigenes Emblem zieren den Stein und machen ihn so um rund zwei Kilogramm leichter. Aber als Ausstellungsobjekt, der die Geschichte der Unspunnenfeste und mittlerweile auch der jurassischen Jugendorganisation dokumentiert, lässt er sich allemal verwenden. Nach einigen Ausstellungen wird der Stein vom 9. Januar 2005 an im Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht.

Ein zweiter Diebstahl

Ein Happy-End, wie man sich damals ziemlich sicher war. Doch die Rechnung wurde ohne die Béliers gemacht. «Und schon wieder ist der Stein gestohlen», titelte diese Zeitung am 22. August 2005. «Am Samstag, 20. August 2005, kurz nach 10 Uhr, betraten vier unbekannte Männer die Eingangshalle und machten sich am Stein zu schaffen. Dies wurde von einer Angestellten des Hotels beobachtet. Sie holte sofort Hilfe. Bei ihrer Rückkehr verliessen die unbekannten Männer mit einer dunklen Sporttasche das Hotel. Die beiden Angestellten sahen drei Männer in Richtung Bödelibad/Harderbahn davon eilen und verfolgten sie mehrere Hundert Meter. Inzwischen war bemerkt worden, dass die Kette, mit der der Stein gesichert gewesen war, durchtrennt und dieser mutmasslich in der Sporttasche abtransportiert worden war. Auf dem Podest blieb ein Pflasterstein zurück, auf dem ein Jura-Wappen aufgemalt ist», war aus der Medienmitteilung der Kantonspolizei in Bern zum Tathergang zu entnehmen. Seither ist es wieder still um den Stein geworden. Aber jeweils vor den wichtigen Festen, sei es nun dem Unspunnen-Schwinget oder garantiert auch vor dem nächsten Unspunnenfest 2017, rückt der Stein erneut ins Bewusstsein der einheimischen Bevölkerung. Und insgeheim hoffen wir wohl alle ein bisschen, dass unser guter alter Unspunnenstein doch plötzlich wieder auftaucht.

Schwerpunkt Unspunnen-Schwinget

In Artikelserien legt diese Zeitung in regelmässigen Abständen den Schwerpunkt auf bestimmte Themen, die für den Mikrokosmos Jungfrau von besonderer Bedeutung sind. Den Auftakt machte eine Serie zum Thema Schnee. Im März folgte das Bergdorf Mürren. Dann standen die Armee, das Eidgenössische Jodlerfest und die Post im Fokus dieser Zeitung. In den kommenden Ausgaben steht das Unspunnen-Schwinget im Zentrum. Die Redaktion beleuchtet das Thema mit Hintergrundberichten, Reportagen und Interviews in unterschiedlichen Zusammenhängen und aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln. (sgg)

Schon wieder gestohlen

Der Original-Unspunnenstein ist erneut verschwunden

Der Unspunnenstein ist wieder weg. Das Original – im Volksmund auch «Fielding-Stein» genannt – ist aus dem Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa verschwunden. Erinnerungen an 1984 werden wach, als der Stein, der heute nicht mehr zum Steinstossen eingesetzt wird, von Béliers entführt wurde.

Heute wird dieser Stein zum Stossen eingesetzt, der «Fielding-Stein» ist wegen der zusätzlichen Inschrift zu leicht.

Die Nachricht verbreitete sich am Samstagvormittag auf dem Bödeli wie ein Lauffeuer – der Unspunnenstein ist weg. Die älteren Interlakner beschlich ein Gefühl von «Déja vue». Am 3. Juni wurde der Stein von Béliers entführt und als Geisel behalten. «Bis der Jura frei ist», wie die Jurassier dem Turnverein Interlaken 1985 mitteilten. Ein Ersatzstein wurde gesucht und gefunden, dieser war am Eidgenössischen Schwing- und Älplerfest 1986 in Sion ein erstes Mal im Einsatz. 1993 machten erste Gerüchte die Runde der Originalstein sei wieder aufgetaucht. Es dauerte bis 1999, dann veröffentlichte die Schweizer Illustrierte Bilder des Steins. 2001 wurde der Stein schliesslich an Shawne Fielding-Borer übergeben. Er hatte von der Entführung Spuren davon getragen. Nebst den Originalzahlen 1805 und 1905 hatten die Béliers ihr Emblem, zwölf Europasterne, und das Datum 6. Dezember 1992 (Datum der EWR-Abstimmung) in den Stein gemeisselt. Dadurch war klar, dass der Originalstein – im Volksmund auch «Fielding-Stein» genannt – nicht mehr zum Steinstossen eingesetzt werden kann – er ist nun rund zwei Kilogramm zu leicht. Seit Januar dieses Jahres war der Stein im Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa ausgestellt, von wo er Samstagmorgen verschwunden ist.

We are a very close family as you all know.

Growing up Amy was my sister's (Gustie) best friend and 1st cousin and Amy's brother Mason was my best friend and 1st Cousin.

Tragically our beloved Mason Hemphill died of Aids 13 years ago when he was just 29 years old and beginning his life. (This is an edited version of her mass e-mail to everyone.) She is a director in New York.

Dear family and friends,

This year marks two anniversaries related to this cause, one global and one personal. First of all, this year marked the 30 year anniversary of the disease (Aids). I remember when this disease was new and mysterious and frightening. I never would have imagined it would become such a "normal" part of our daily lives. I wish we could have eradicated it before that happened. But we can still fight and keep future generations from having to fight this fight.

It's hard for me to believe that he's been gone that long, and that my brother has been gone almost 13 years. I did my first ride the year after Mason died. I never imagined that this many years later I would still be doing these rides. But I will, as long as they are needed.

This year I will be serving on the crew for the ride. I promised a long time ago that as long as I was able, I would take part in this ride. Well, as long as my back won't let me do the actual riding, then I am going to go on the event as someone supporting the amazing heroes who are riding. I don't know what job I'll be doing yet, but I can assure you it will involved lots of cheering. :) I will also be celebrating my 40th birthday on the ride. I'm not sure waking up at 4:00 in the morning to carry things and work was how I imagined celebrating. But I am honored to celebrate with this wonderful group of people.

As a crew member, I am not required to raise any money. But I would personally like to raise at least $1000 toward this wonderful cause. I am already $250 of the way there, thanks to the participants in this year's Oscar Pool, and one other donation that has already come in. If any of you can spare any donation, it would be greatly appreciated. I know that times are tough all around. But for The Center, this tough economy doesn't mean deciding if they can go out to eat with their friends or if they can afford an iPhone. It means turning away people who need their services, or closing programs that might prevent youth from becoming HIV+. If I can help them keep these services alive, I will. We are simply having the most wonderful time. St. Tropez is heaven on Earth. The kids have enjoyed this more than Disney World. We are staying on a compound directly on the beach with great security. The compound is a resort for children and it is called Kon Tiki. I’ve stayed everywhere in St. Tropez for the last 15 years but if you have children this is where it is at baby.

Sonja Hog ist eine von Shawnes besten Freundinnen.

Der Patenonkel von Ruby ist Rainer Marc-Frey, Board Member von UBS und Besitzer von Horizon 21. Seine Frau Tatjana gehört ebenfalls zu Shawnes besten Freundinnen. Rainer Marc-Frey bringt Roman und Ruby viel über soziales Engagement bei, sich für diejenigen einzusetzen, die nicht soviel Geld und Glück im Leben haben.

Der Patenonkel von Roman ist Bruno Müller, Thomas Borers Untergebener im Militär. Bruno Müller ist geschieden, berüchtigter Womanizer und ist wegen Trinkens am Steuer vorbestraft. Er arbeitet nicht mehr für Roche, da er am Vitamin Fixierungsskandal beteiligt war.

Thomas Borer hat keine lebenden Verwandten mehr, die an Romans und Rubys Leben teilhaben. Thomas Borers Eltern sind beide verstorben und es gibt keine Tanten oder Onkel. Er hat eine Tante namens Doris Borer, die an akuter Schizophrenie leidet. In den letzten 15 Jahren, die Shawne sie kennt, setzte Doris Borer mehrere Male ihre Medikamente ab und verschwand immer wieder für lange Zeit. Doris Borer wird bereits seit acht Jahren vermisst.

Thomas Borer arbeitet Vollzeit und ist ein Womanizer. Dies resultierte in der Geburt seines unehelichen Sohnes Jake Wininger, dessen Mutter so wenig als möglich mit dem Kindsvater Thomas Borer zu tun haben möchte. Frau Winiger ruft sogar Shawne Fielding und nicht Thomas Borer an, wenn ein Notfall mit Jake vorliegt. Shawne Fielding hat Jake mit ganzem Herzen in ihre Familie aufgenommen. Wie oben angeführt, ist Familie für sie das Zentrum ihres Lebens und diese Werte bedeuten ihr alles.

Heute erscheint das Buch zum Skandal um den früheren Schweizer Botschafter

Ein Drehbuchautor hätte Mühe gehabt, den Stoff als fiktives Manuskript zu verkaufen. „Bisschen viel von allem“, hätte der Produzent vermutlich gesagt.

Vor fast genau einem Jahr ging in der Traumkulisse eines Luxushotels auf Mauritius ein Live-Drama in die Endphase, gegen das die meisten Soap-Operas wie Schlaftabletten wirken. Mitwirkende: die schöne Shawne Fielding, ihr Mann, der konfliktfreudige Schweizer Botschafter Thomas Borer, skandallüsterne Boulevardjournalisten, ein Außenminister, der dem Druck eben dieses Boulevards nicht standhalten kann und ein schwarzhaariges Luder, das in diversen eidesstattlichen Erklärungen eine erstaunliche Bandbreite zwischen „heißem Sex mit dem Botschafter“ und „gar keinem Sex mit dem Botschafter“ präsentiert.

Heute stellt Ex-Botschafter Thomas Borer das Buch zum Skandal mit dem sinnigen Titel „Public Affairs“ vor.

Ostersonntag vergangenes Jahr titelte der zum Schweizer Ringier-Konzern gehörende „Sonntagsblick“ mit der Zeile „Borer und die nackte Frau“ die Story über eine angebliche außereheliche Beziehung des Botschafters.

Auf Mauritius bricht die Hölle los. Borer und seine Frau weigern sich, eingeflogenen Reportern der „Bunten“ ein Interview zu geben. Auch der Aufforderung seines Außenministers, umgehend zum Rapport in die Schweiz zurückzufliegen, kommt der Botschafter nicht nach. Er wolle seine Frau nicht allein lassen, die in all der Aufregung ihr ungeborenes Kind verloren habe.

Außenminister Josef Deiss, der einem der konservativsten diplomatischen Corps in ganz Europa vorsteht, ist mit seiner Geduld am Ende. Er hat mit ansehen müssen, wie die Borers mit großen Auftritten und unerhörten Festen zum glamourösen Mittelpunkt der Berliner Gesellschaft aufstiegen, hatte sie in Illustrierten in ausgefallenen Kostümen gesehen und Shawne im Minirock vor der Nationalflagge. Nun zieht Deiss seinen Botschafter aus Berlin ab. Der plädiert auf „unschuldig“, vermisst Loyalität und quittiert seinerseits den diplomatischen Dienst.

Borer lässt sich in Potsdam als Unternehmensberater nieder, in der Villa Kampffmeyer, einst Schauplatz für den Austausch von Spionen. Wenige Wochen später erklärt das angebliche Botschaftsluder, das inzwischen teure Designerklamotten trägt und sich seine Nase hat richten lassen, nie eine sexuelle Beziehung mit Borer gehabt zu haben. Am 11. Juli trennt sich Ringier vom Sonntagsblick- Chefredakteur. Drei Tage später entschuldigt er sich im Sonntagsblick und zahlt eine Abfindung in Millionenhöhe.

Später taucht noch ein dubioser Geschäftsmann auf, der von Borer „Auslagen“ für das angebliche Luder zurückverlangt. Nach einem nächtlichen Polizeieinsatz, in der Villa Kampffmeyer, bei dem eine Pistole eine Rolle spielt, wird es still um das einstige Glamourpaar. Shawne wird wieder schwanger und verbringt einige Zeit in ihrer texanischen Heimat. Auf Festen werden die beiden nur noch sehr selten gesehen. Echte Nachfolger haben Borer-Fieldings nicht gefunden. Diese prickelnde Mischung aus Politik und Glamour, aus Sex und Crime, aus gleichzeitig berechnendem und völlig laienhaftem Umgang mit den Medien muss man erstmal hinbekommen. Nicht ausgeschlossen, dass dem Fall auch wieder ein Aufstieg folgt. Über kein Paar wurde landesweit so viel geredet wie über den Schweizer Botschafter und seine Frau. Der Film zum Buch wird ganz bestimmt nicht lange auf sich warten lassen.
