Before starting this you must get familiar with all the previous tasks and run some code in the tasks and get familiar with error handling and using crates.

If you have difficulty completing the previous tasks here is a walkthrough video of them.

So as given the string is already encrypted and all you have to do is to decrypt in the order of rot13 -> base64 -> ROT13 -> plaintext and find the flag.

To do that you can head to https://crates.io/ to find external packages which will decrypt the text for you out of the box, so search for packages such as base64 and rot13 to make use of them to use them in our code.

So here are some packages which I used

cipher-crypt = “0.17.0”
base64 = “0.12.3”

will use cipher-crypt for rot13 and base64 for base 64 decryption.

So now you can add them to your dependencies in Cargo.toml file(as below)

Now you are all set to use the packages it in your code. Then you can import these packages in your code as below

Rust always recommends using snakecase so all the variables must be initialized in such format.

As Rot13::decrypt(“xxx”) returns a string we can directly pass it to base64 decode but the return type fo base64~decode is bytes we have to convert that to a string so we are using str::from_utf8. This could be done in several different ways I suppose I would be glad if could share with me your way of approaching the same in the comments.

Finally, you could use cargo run to run the code.

There you get the flag 🤩.

Changing python version in gitpod

I have always had this problem modifying using a particular version of python on gitpod. Until I knew this simple trick to switch between the python versions.

If you have not heard of gitpod its time for you to use it as running code online instead of local machine helps you when you have a CPU intensive processes and there are a lot of free to use online web apps that enable you to start with using powerful CPU and extends to GPU and TPU as well. I will be sharing a blog post soon on all the free tools you could use to boost up your productivity.

So if you are already using gitpod and want to switch between python versions its simpler than you think

Run this to check all the python versions available: pyenv versions

So to install a new version of python you simply have to run this: pyenv install 3.7.6 (Or whatever version you want)

That will basically download and install. Now you need to make sure to configure it for the existing workspace, to do that you simply have to run this: pyenv local 3.7.6 Same version as you downloaded.

Now you are all set yo use that specific version of python. You are free to download any number of versions and you can simply switch between them using the local command.

Reasons not to buy Akaso action camera if you are from india

Recently I made a full review of the action camera I brought after doing a ton of research and time. Having used it for a couple of months I feel extremely glad that it meets up to my expectations.

But recently, I accidentally tipped off the camera without an external case and it cracked my lens. This, in turn, added a shady spot on my phone or video and I cannot use that anymore (Some phones of the cracked lens below)

I immediately mailed the akaso team to ask if there is anything they could do but unfortunately, this was their response.

Oops, that was not what I was expecting and then I asked them I could get any details of the replacement parts or anything like that so that I can order it online. But that didn't happen it took a lot of time for them to respond me back(I have been bugging them on Facebook and email).

But after some time they left me with this response which I had no other choice but to accept.

After getting the 50%refund I thought to myself that I could get a replacement lens But it turns out it's not that easy. I had to find some people on youtube that tore apart their akaso for a lens replacement as i was not sure of the lens specifications that fit mine to get a replacement. I was glad that I found some people and finally got to tear apart my akaso to check for the damage on the lens.

And then it was almost a couple of weeks and I didn't find a lens that fits my camera and unfortunately found one and ordered the170 Degree Wide-angle lens from banggood and it shows me a 3 month delivery time and i ordered it a month ago and I am still waiting it to be shipped i got it to use for about a month which disappoints me. The camera is fully functional and sitting on my table waiting for the lens 😏

I was soo mad and I did ask them why they had to then sell them in India if they do not have proper service for which they didn't even respond. I wish brands should at least sell replacement parts along with product to not make their customers feel bad about the product and might loose customer like me forever.

Early recently I had my internal memory of my mac stocked up and I had to rely on storing my excess data onto my external hard disk which most have to do as we do not have an option otherwise to increase the internal storage of the machine itself. I pulled up my external hard disk and boom to my wonder it doesn't have the write permissions as it's of `NTFS` format.

So after a quick search, it was evident that there are a lot of software that can mount my NTFS drive namely

Why password security is the weakest among other security measures?

We have all been using passwords to access out personal accounts for various websites, but it's common that most of the people use the same password for every online account as it seems hard for people to remember 10-15 passwords for various different websites which they use every single day.

So here comes the other login methods such as Fingerprint, IRIS scanner and RF cards to validate your accounts and many companies these days are even having 2-factor authentications such as sending messages to phones to authenticate which again is not a very secure practice as many spoofing techniques can be implemented to by get access to the messages and google recently released 2-factor authentication that sends a notification as well as a unique number to select for authentication which could be a much better alternative when majority of the people are using android phones, but out of all these fingerprints, IRIS, and RF cards(MFA) are the most secure ways to protect any security attacks only when the data or process of storing and authenticating is done on the user's machine/system as they are unique and one exposed out it will be near to impossible for modifying them as they are the only ways in which the user can be uniquely identified whereas we can change the passwords to whatever we want to at any point of time.

Whereas passwords are the easiest to crack as they can be brute-forced and when you use the same or maybe similar password for many accounts you are potentially giving access to every damn thing about you on the internet.

All the major companies have collaborated and came up with a standard way to approach and solve this problem using Fido alliance(Read more about this at the link)

It's said that on an average an employee of a company calls the service desk team 6 times in a year and it takes around 50$ to employ an average help desk to service those issues which are a huge deal when multinational companies burn millions of dollars just to serve passwords new passwords. So even companies are looking at alternative ways to solve their issues in a much more effective way to implement other security features that don't compromise the systems and are much better than traditional passwords.

It's estimated that an average security breach costs a company around 8 Million dollars to cover up the setup and reframe to its normal state back again.

So it's always advisable to use a long password(for sure more than 8 characters) which is simple to remember rather than using a short password with all the special characters which itself is hard to remember.

Installing packages with apt-get on gitpod

Until recently I did not know that I could install packages with apt-get on gitpod as it always wanted me to have root permissions, here is how it should be done.

If you are using a public git repository make sure you have push permissions to the repository or fork the repository unless you are the real owner of the repository. Now you probably should be already aware that there is an actual `Browser Extension` for chrome and Mozilla, if not you should install that to make things easy instead of editing the URL(appending gitpod.io/#) all the time to open the repository in gitpod.

After you open the repository in gitpod run the below command

>> gp init

This will generate .gitpod.yml and .gitpod.Dockerfile files. Now modify the docker file something like below( for install redis-server in my case)

USER gitpod
RUN sudo apt-get update -q && \
    sudo apt-get install -yq redis-server

Then make sure you commit both the files and push them back to the repository.

Close the existing gitpod workspace and relaunch the workspace by going to the actual repository in GitHub with the latest commit. This should start installing the packages and open the workspace.

Alternatively, you can also install packaged with brew install <PackageName>.

Extjs - basics on file-system

Hope you created your first project with command prompt and knew some basics of where the application starts loading files and makes up the complete interface and functionalities. if not I recommend you to start from the initial step and come back here.

So when you start your project on a desktop it will check for the main file in the classic folder and shows it to the user. classic > src > view > main > Main.js

Now let's start with this Main.js file and understand better about the project.

This main file basically has some extended components Ext.tab.Panel which extends the main page view to have a tab panel view in it.

requires has all the other components that are being used in this page as components.

Header of the side tab has all the properties such as layout that defines what should be the layout for the header which is aligned to stretchmax, and the title which is being binded which a data feild named name where the name is from universal viewmodel here ,

app > view > main > Mainmodel.js and then the iconCls is the icon to be added along with the header and the icon name associated with it.

Next the responsiveConfig is where you specify the configurations for the responsive page where the headerposition changes when the width of the page is larger or smaller than the lenght of the page and then the position of the header is changes accordingly.

Tall : defines the properties to change when the width is smaller than the height of the page and then you shift the header to the top of the page
wide : defines all the properties to change when the width is larget than the height of the page and then you shift the header to the left of the page to occupy the page width.

Now, defaults are the page defaults for each of the component in the page and the page layout, the tabconfig here has some specific properties such as plugins to attach some other default properties to the component and modify all the components according to the plugin where here the icons and taxt alignment is changed when you make the page responsive.

items are all the components that are placed in the page, you can even have nested items if thats necessay for the items lets say if the page needs to be divided into some sections and then each of the sections has a different item then you can use a nested items, each and every item has a title associated with a value and some other properties that are used according to the page layout.

NOTE : All the page binding of the values could be a placed in the shared stores of the app as the same values are to be used with both the modern and classic templates of the application.

All the interface css components are placed in the sass > src > main > main.scss

if you want to add or update any component styles you can change it in the scss file, furthur if you want to change any theme for any of the classic or modern app you can change them in the app.json file.

ExtJs starting new project - INTRODUCTION

Once you are done installing sencha cmd(DOWNLOAD LINK) and unzipping the framework-SDK (DOWNLOAD LINK) then you are all set to start working with Ext JS and creating projects.

Now let's start creating a new project before creating make a directory you need to manage all files into and then fire up command prompt and give this command

sencha -sdk frameworkpath generate app AppName directorypath

change the framework path to the path you extracted all the files and directory path to where you want all your project files to be and then run this command it takes up some to start copying some files into your project directory to get started with all the files that you need is auto generated.

when you are done you can see a couple of files residing in your project directory. now to run your project you need to run this command from your project directory

sencha app watch

You are all set to build up your ideas and start your project now!

So in Ext JS you will have 3 different areas for the universal applications

Shared app area - application root
Classic app area - for classic applications templates /classic/src/view/main/
Modern app area - for modern application templates /modern/src/view/main/

All the applications that you develop on ExtJS are based on MVVC

Model: is where you write all your business login as classes and this will always be written independently on the application's interface.

View: is where you write all your interface code which is where the end user of the application gets interacted with for using the system.

View Controller: is where you write all the connections between the view and the models.

so the entire application is written dividing into the above three categories.

Firstly you need to download and unzip the ExtJs framework downloaded from sencha website. once you are done then you need to download the sencha cmd - DOWNLOAD LINK

Install sencha cmd and then allow the installation to create a path variable during the installation.

now add "C:\Users\::change to your directory name::\bin\Sencha\Cmd" to PATH variable in user variables.

Check whether sencha command is accessible from your command prompt globally

You are all set to starting a new project with ExtJs ! :)

As a part of CES (Consumer electronic show) 2016, There are many new technologies that emerge out in the latest markets.Here comes something that is very astonishing design made my LG where it could possibility bend the screen and use it as a paper .

LG, Samsung, Sony, and other display manufacturers have unveiled flexible screens before, but this concept is more advanced, and frankly, stunning. What’s interesting about this is the sheer size of the panel, if you can call it such; most manufacturers have shown off bendable displays at various smaller sizes in the past, and of course curved (but fixed) HDTVs have been in stores for several years now.

Instead of this fitting a smartphone that you could put in your pocket, a display like this is much tougher to pull off, and removes the hard barrier you’d find on a large tablet or convertible laptop that sets its form factor a certain way. The imagination can run wild with the possibilities; a few off the top of our heads would be a second screen for a smartphone, or (eventually) a full-blown tablet with an on-screen keyboard that you could just unroll onto a table and start working on.

The latest Drones are almost of the same features just flying in the air to capture beautiful images and know whats happening around in case of emergency ! There are even drones that could climb walls in the latest trend but the VertiGo is something ,which both drives on the ground and climbs up walls even with an uneven surfaces that's pretty interesting.

Created in a partnership between Disney Research Zurich and the ETH Zurich research institute, the VertiGo features a lightweight carbon fiber frame, two independently-tilting propellers, and four 3D-printed wheels (the front two of which are steerable).

In "ground mode" the rear prop is angled perpendicular to the ground, providing enough horizontal thrust to carry the machine across a variety of terrains. Upon reaching a wall, however, the front propeller kicks in and tilts upwards, pulling the front end of the robot up that wall. The rear prop continues to push the back end forward until it's also up against the wall.

From there, the VertiGo can roll vertically across the wall on its wheels, with a partial towards-the-wall tilt of the propellers pushing it in, so it doesn't simply fall off. Because it doesn't rely on suction like some other climbing robots, it doesn't require smooth, even wall surfaces with which to create a seal. This means it doesn't have a problem with walls made from brick and mortar, for example.

An onboard IMU (inertial measurement unit) and two infra-red distance sensors allow the robot to know whether it's oriented horizontally, vertically, or is about to transition between the two (i.e: when it's meeting up with the bottom of a wall), so its remotely-located human operator doesn't need to manually tilt the propellers.

ArcaSpace is primarily a private space company, and one of the original 26 teams that competed in the Ansari X Prize competition in 2004. (It also entered the Lunar X Prize competition, too, before pulling out in 2013.) But early this morning the company released a video that shows off the "ArcaBoard," a fan-powered rectangle that can lift a person off the ground by almost a foot.

ARCA Space Corporation announced today that it has created "ArcaBoard". For the first time in history, every person will be able to fly whenever they want, wherever they want. ArcaBoard represents the first revolutionary breakthrough in motion since the the bicycle, automobile and airplane.

ArcaBoard, an electric powered flying machine with 272 horsepower and 203,000 watts of installed power is the most powerful and lightest personal vehicle ever created. ArcaBoard represents total freedom of movement, total freedom of travel. ArcaBoard is a personal vehicle that can move in every possible direction including upwards. The retail price is $19,900 and is available for order now. Shipments will start April 15, 2016.

“ArcaBoard represents a revolution in motion. For the last 17 years we have developed aerospace technologies that looked to the sky. We took our knowledge and applied it to everyone’s dreams. Dreams of flying,” said Dumitru Popescu, CEO of ARCA Space Corporation.

ArcaBoard is built from composite materials, it has a length of 145x76x15 cm (57x30x6 inches) and a weight of 82 kg (180 lbs). This technology allows a person with a weight up to 110 kg (243 lbs) to be able to fly.

The vehicle is able to fly up to 30 cm (1 ft) and with speeds up to 20 km/h (12.5 mph) and the overall performance is limited by the onboard sensors. The maximum endurance is 6 minutes, but with the ArcaDock accessory the user can be back in action in 35 minutes.

Regarding the price quoted in the website as $19,900 but thats huge and people who are seriously into it could efford and the Orders will ship starting April 15, 2016 .

So this looks like we are seriously getting more efforts without having any specific tracks to run like lexux.it looks like the immediate future of the hoverboard is still grounded.
