Jennifer Ellison skating accident on Dancing On Ice Live

In tonight's live Dancing On Ice show Jennifer Ellison had a horrific accident while performing her Valentine Day dance with her professional skating partner. The Dancing on Ice celebrity was putting on a fine performance and reached the stage where she attempted a "scorpion" move that entailed kicking her leg backwards while arching backwards. As she did so, her skate hit her head and the sharp blade penetrated her head. Courageously, she continued to the end of the routine and as they finished her skating partner saw her hair was covered in blood. She was quickly taken off the ice to receive medical treatment as the Dancing on Ice hosts and producers were baffled as to what to do next.

Dancing on Ice's Jorgie Porter was top of the score board last week with an impressive score of 24 points. However, her professional skating partner has revealed that his Dancing on Ice partner has a lot more moves up her sleave to come.

Professional skating partner Matt Evers commented on his partner Jorgie Porter saying: “She says ‘I want to do this lift and I want to do this’ and she’s doing things now we’ve never seen female celebs do before, which we are saving for the longevity of the programme, but it is amazing.”
He said: “She’s an incredible actress first and foremost, she’s an incredible person, not jaded by the industry by any means. What I love is she’s infectious but also she’s just this sponge - she wants to soak this in so much and enjoy the ride. “Like going into wardrobe and costuming at the studio, she lights up the studio”

This week's theme is a Valentines special Dancing on Ice spectacular so expect a lot of romantic dances. Expect an explosion of sequins and coloured tops with a mixture of slushy songs and a bit of cupid.

Dancing On Ice opening skate with One Direction Singing

In todays Dancing on Ice program the opening skate performed by the artists and Torvill and Dean accompanied the music of One Direction as they sang What Makes You Beautiful. The boy band have just returned from their American tour to perform on Dancing On Ice 2012. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson opened the show as Torvill and Dean gave a great opening dance routine with the rest of the skaters.
Phillip Schofield, the host of DOI praised the boys, saying: "What a way to start the show..from the hottest pop group around."

Snow ruins rehearsals for Dancing on Ice 2012 stars

Dancing on Ice 2012 celebrities Jorgie Porter, Jennifer Ellison and Andy Whyment all missed their Dancing On Ice rehearsals at the end of this week, due to the cold spell that has descended over the UK.

Dancing on Ice hit by poor weather

As snow and ice descended upon the country many services such as the trains etc were cancelled, and warnings were given not to use some of the roads as the snow became too much for the roads. This meant that the stars that lived up North were unable to travel to London to rehearse this week’s ice skating dances.

As well as missing out on their own practice and rehearsal sessions the Dancing on Ice celebrities were unable to go through the group routine that had been planned for everyone to do this week. The intention was for all the skaters to perform during a performance by boy band One Direction as they were to sing, "What makes you beautiful." Show producers have said that the celebrities may have to wing it on the night or they may have to rearrange the program with Torvill and Dean skating to the boy bands music.

The Dancing on Ice celebrities will be skating to Pop tracks from Madonna, Lady Gaga and Kylie amongst many other musical tracks.

The next Dancing On Ice Celebrity thought to be most likely to leave this week is Charlene Tilton. The bookies odds for elimination this week are: 1/1 Charlene Tilton, 9/4 Rosemary Conley, 6/1 Sam Nixon, 10/1 Heidi Range, 12/1 Andy Whyment, 16/1 Chemmy Alcot, 20/1 Jennifer Ellison, 25/1 Sebastien Foucan, 50/1 Chico, 100/1 Mathew Wolfenden, 100/1 Jorgie Porter. Dancing On Ice "The Duel" twist this week

This Sundays Dancing On Ice twist revealed

Last Sunday's Dancing on Ice 2012 show was terrific with some great performances by a few of the stars.
This Sunday will see the first twist of the new series as the celebrities have been informed they will not be dancing alone. A new theme nicknamed "The Duel" will take precedent as each pair of skaters will be paired against another on the ice.

Philip Schofield and Christine Bleakely host Dancing On Ice 2012

Torvill and Dean explained to the Dancing On Ice 2012 celebrities that: "You'll be sharing the ice, and sharing the music, skating against a fellow couple."
There are 12 contestants left and that means this Sunday will see 6 remaining skaters dance off against the other 6 contestants. The highest scoring pair will automatically go through to the next round of the 2012 Dancing On Ice competition.
The public will then vote for one of each of the remaining 6 couples to give them immunity. Those remaining will have their place configured according to the amount of votes they receive from the public.
The two Dancing On Ice 2012 celebrities with the lowest votes will go into the skate off and Judges Katarina Witt, Louie Spence and Robin Cousins will vote one of the skaters off this years Dancing On Ice 2012 series.

We can reveal the pairs that will be competing against each other directly are:
Andy Whyment and Rosemary Conley, Matthew Wolfenden and Jorgie Porter, Heidi Range and Charlene Tilton, Jennifer Ellison and Sébastian Foucan, Chico and Sam Nixon and Corey Feldman and Chemmey Alcott.

The fact that the back flip came at the end, as much as you were doing the right steps all the way through, all you were really thinking about was what you had to do to be ready for the back flip. Dancing on Ice Celebrity and Emmerdale actor Mathew Wolfenden revealed on Twitter that he accidentally dropped his DOI colleague while rehearsing a lift.

Mathew tweeted to his fans: "Had a shocker of a training session today. Dropped @NinkaUlanova out of a big lift that's in our new routine, she's just a bit winded... but it shook me up a lot, just shows how dangerous this ice skating can be! She is a little hard nut though! X x"

Meanwhile, Dancing on Ice 2012 celebrity Heidi Range has also been revealing news about how the skating has helped her recover from a broken heart after splitting with her partner Dave. She commented: 'My life has been turned upside down'

'The end of last year was awful,' she continued

'We’re still great friends and I saw him last week... but it’s hard. Dancing On Ice has got me through it. It’s given me a new lease of life.'

She added: 'My life’s been turned upside down and I don’t know what is going to happen.

'I’m thinking about a solo album, I’m thinking about TV presenting, I’m thinking the world is my oyster right now. For 10 years every part of my life has been planned. It’s been in the diary. It’s exciting to be making a fresh start.

'This show has been brilliant. It’s given me confidence and I’ve got my groove back.'

Dancing on Ice 2012 celebrity Andy Whyment has also been having a hard time recently as it has been reported his wife is angry over his sexy dance moves with skating partner Vicky Ogden. The DOI star revealed the saucy routines were causing no end of trouble at home with his wife Nicola.

He confided: “She doesn’t think it’s great but it is part of the show. If I were in her shoes I don’t think I would like it one bit either. It is hard, too, because I’m training every day so you are out for hours and then I am in London all weekend……”

He added: “I’m really just not used to it. Honestly, in 11 years of Corrie I have only had to do three screen kisses. Kirk is not one of those characters that has had a lot of girlfriends.

“This is the most time I have spent on screen close to a girl. I just try to enjoy the entertainment side of it.I hope my wife will be OK with it”

Tonight will be a mega show as the remaining contestants will all be appearing in the show. The Dancing on Ice 2012 contestants remaining include:

Dancing On Ice 2012 performances

Dancing on Ice 2012 celebrity Mathew Wolfenden put on a fine performance on Sunday night and scored a total of 20.5 points out of 30 to make him one of the favourites for this series.

Emmerdale actor Mathew was partnered with Nina Ulanova and together they put on a great routine. Dancing On Ice 2012 Judge Louie Spence said that he loved the leather outfit Matt was wearing and went on to say the performance was almost perfect.
Dancing On Ice 2012 Judge Robin Cousins said: "It was a fantastic end to the night, this is going to be a fantastic series and I can't wait!"

The surprise of the night was Singer Chico Slimani. He has had little practice and came in at the last moment as a substitute for Chesney Hawkes after he broke his leg during training. Chico scored an impressive 18.5 points for his routine to the track Wild Thing, with partner Jodeyne Higgins.

Louie said: "Not only are you easy on the eye physically but you knocked out a great routine there." Katarina Witt added, "Chico you have the potential to be a thoroughbred."
At the end of the show the two skaters voted by the public to be in the skate off were Laila Morse and Corey Feldman. Laila was still sporting an injury to her shoulder that happened while practicing her skating skills in previous weeks but had been determined to skate tonight.

Despite soldiering on , she was unanimously voted off by the three Judges and Laila Morse became the second contestant to leave Dancing On Ice.

Corey Feldman was very fortunate to go through to the next round. The actor hadn't been taking the show as seriously as what they would have liked and he only realised the importance of the show when he watched the other contestants compete last weekend.

Next week will see the remaining 13 celebrities take to the Dancing On Ice 2012 rink where the theme of the show will be movie night.

'We will be expecting some Oscar-winning performances,' commented Dancing On Ice 2012 Judge Katarina Witt.

Jennifer Ellison favourite on Dancing On Ice 2012

Laila Morse - actress from Eastenders. Laila is the oldest Dancing On Ice 2012 contestant but is favourite with the bookies to go out this weekend

Mathew Wolfenden - Actor from Emmerdale. He is a trained dancer and gymnast and so is one of the favourites of this series

Sam Nixen - Children's TV presenter and the other half of partnership with Mark Rhodes also a Dancing On Ice 2012 contestant who performed last week.

Rosemary Conley - Fitness guru and diet professional. A very enthusiastic rosemary has been quoted as saying ""Dancing On Ice 2012 has made me feel like I’m 25 again! My husband has said he's never seen me so happy in the 28 years that we've been together!"

Sébastien Foucan - founder of "freerunning." An excellent freerunner (which involves urban acrobatics from roof to roof etc.) Given Sebastien's skills in gymnast and balance he should be a strong contender although he has been having problems initially mastering skating.

Chico Slimani - singer from the X Factor (It's Chico time.) A firm favourite with the ladies, Chico is definitely fit and should provide great entertainment. Chico is a last minute stand in for the injured Chesney Hawkes, who injured his ankle during practice sessions on Dancing On Ice 2012.

Corey Feldman - Child star American actor. Corey has been making headlines recently with his arguments with his professional skating partner and also his extreme personality. He said: “Ice is a very tricky thing and I have had a skiing accident once where I broke my scapular and slipped two discs so I know that it’s a very fragile thing.” Corey is not one of the favourites!

Jennifer Ellison - Brookside actress and firm favourite for the Dancing On Ice 2012 title this year.

Last week saw the first 8 performances with Andy Akinwolere eliminated from the contest first, following the public vote. Andy was up against Heidi Range the Sugarbabes singer during a skate off. Afterwards, Andy said: "I'm gutted."

Dancing on Ice 2012 contestant Andy Akinwolere voted out the show

The first Dancing on Ice 2012 contestant was eliminated last night. Andy Akinwolere and his professional skating partner Maria Flippov scored 14 out of 30 after their skating performance and were not in the bottom group of scores. However, the public had to vote who they wanted in the skate off and they chose Andy Akinwolere and Sugarbabes Heidi Range.

After being put into the elimination spot, the two Dancing on Ice contestants performed very different dances. Heidi Range and her partner had a slow and poised dance routine while Andy Ankinwolere's routine was more high energy with a boogie dance. After completing, it was then in the judges hands.
Dancing on Ice 2012 Judges Louie Spence and Robin Cousins voted for Heidi Range to stay while Judge Kattarina Witt voted for Andy. Having received the judgment that he was to leave the show, Andy Akinwolere said he felt gutted and the disapointment showed in his face. "I'm gutted, really gutted. We put so much effort into that," he said to Host Phillip Schofield. Philipp replied, "We are gutted with you Andy."

Dancing On Ice 2012 Contestants Perform in opening show.

Dancing on Ice 2012 kicked off this evening and we got a feel for those that could have a chance of winning and those that need a bit more practice.

Among those showing a great deal of promise was Jorgie Porter the Hollyoaks actress. Her first routine with professional skater Matt Evers was a terrific performance and left her top of the scoreboard getting 18 out of 20. A remarkable score for the first program of the series of Dancing On Ice 2012.
The Judges including new panel members, dance expert Louie Spence and Olympic skating champion Katarina Witt were highly impressed with their routine.
"It was a beautiful performance, absolutely stunning," Louie commented to the actress.Katarina said, "You're like a feather...for me you added the first spark of magic to the night."

Resident judge Robin Cousins,said the routine was "absolutely exquisite" and added, "Probably one of, if not the, strongest opening routines we have ever had on any series."

Also doing well in the opening week of Dancing On Ice 2012 was skier Chemmy Allcott, who despite still suffering psychological issues following her horrific fall in a downhill skiing competition, put on a pacy routine with partner Sean Rice. They finished in second place with 16 points.

"It was so exciting to watch, it did make my heart stop for a moment," Louie said.
Katarina described her as "an explosion of excitement".
Earlier in the week Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter revealed her bottom was a little bit tricky during rehearsals on Dancing On Ice 2012. She was surprised at the movement in her bum cheeks!

She commented: "I'll be sat there and they'll just go woof! – and I'm like, 'Who did that?' and they just do it on their own."

Her naughty bottom also got her into trouble while making a video tape for Dancing On Ice 2012.

She added: "What was I doing? Pulling my knickers out of my bum. How cringey is that?"

Dancing on Ice 2012 returns to our screens in a matter of hours. The latest series glides back onto our screens at 6.30pm tonight and the excitement is buiding.

This years program features a brand new judging panel including flamboyant dancer Louie Spence and former Olympian Katarina Witt.

The celebrity ice skating apprentices have been hard at work practicing with their professional skater partners and some are finding it a little tough.

The 'Lost Boys' star Corey Feldman is paired with the US champion skater Brooke Castile for the ITV show, but has claimed he is having trouble picking her up because of her "hard bubble butt".

Dancing On Ice 2012 Contestant Corey said: "I'm scared of lifting my partner. She's got these giant, muscly legs and a real hard bubble butt. Not in a bad butt way. I think each cheek weighs about 20 lbs. That's a lot of work!"

Corey Feldman, 40, also said he and Brooke, 25, didn't hit it off with each other at first, but their relationship is getting better the more time they spend together on the ice during Dancing On Ice 2012.

He commented: "She came in with this very rigid attitude. I think her words were 'I'm going to be a ball-buster'.

"Once we started having a bit of fun on the ice it all started coming together. But she has no interest in hanging out with me. I think she's nervous about crossing boundaries."

There are a lot of last minute changes in the lineup of the Dancing On Ice 2012 contestants.

The smash hit ITV skating programme started to look a bit wobbly on its feet after a series of shock withdrawals.

2012 Dancing On Ice Contestants have been crashing out with injuries and the latest victim is former chart star Chesney Hawkes, 40.

He had to withdraw after hurting a leg in a fall and will be replaced by X Factors flamboyant Chico, (It's Chico time!) also 40.

Another casualty along the way has been pro skater Sylvain Longchambon, 31, who has torn a bicep. The French heart throb, who was lined up to partner Sugababe Heidi Range, 28, has been replaced by another professional skater Russian Andrei Lipanov, 35.

The injury toll has been increasingly added to since Keith Chegwin, 54 also had to pull out following an injury. The bubbly former TV favourite took to the ice enthusiastically in his first training session on Dancing on ice 2012 and came crashing to the ground.

With a smashed shoulder and three broken ribs, ensuring he was unable to take part in the show.

The remaining contestants will be judged by the line up of panellist judges including Robin Cousins, 54, choreographer Louie Spence, 42, and twice Olympic figure skating champ Katarina Witt, 46.

Here are the Dancing On Ice contestants for 2012

ITV Dancing on Ice 2012 returns to our screens on 8th January and we can reveal the lineup for the show which includes some great celebrities. Take a look at the names and photos below and click on the names to see the facebook sites for each celebrity.
ITV will be airing the show for the next few months and have shook up the formula a bit this year with major changes to the Judges line up. Out goes Emma Bunton and controversial Judge Jason Gardiner who is unhappy with the way he has been treated by the program. He became notorious last year when he was accused of bullying Karen Barber on the show which received a great deal of headlines for the show. However, it is thought producers felt this was taking things a little too far and bringing the show into disrepute.
New Judges for the Dancing On Ice 2012 show are Louis Spence and Katarina Witt. (See tabs at the top of this page for information about the new judges)
Also Holly Willoughby will not be co hosting this years show with Phillip Schofield which is a disappointment for the show producers. See the story here
