There are all kinds of life insurance companies that offer such policies. Uncertain events result into financial losses, and in order to ensure that the expenditures do not affect the victims significantly, the coverage of insurance policies is used. Among all the policies, the life insurance policies and medical insurance policies are the most important ones. Before we proceed to the core concept of life insurance with no medical exam, it is essential to know more about the mechanism of life insurance coverages and policies, and some life insurance basics.

About Life Insurance Policies

Life insurance policies are often considered to be the most important of all insurance policies, since they cover the financial risk associated with life. In simple words, life insurance policy matures after a particular number of decades, and a structured settlement or a lump sum settlement is returned to the insured person. In case of demise of the insured person, the entire proceeds are paid to the nominated persons as per the insurance agreement. The proceeds and returns multiply according to a specified rate that is mentioned in the insurance agreement. The only difference between the life insurance policy and other policies is that the returns start after the premium ends or upon demise. In the other types of insurance coverages there are no returns, but there is just a coverage. Thus, the principal objective of the different kinds of life insurance policies is to reduce the financial burdens of the deceased's family. For more inputs you can also refer to how does life insurance work.

It is customary for all insurance companies to have a regular medical check up during the life insurance underwriting process. The insurance policy being dependent on life, usually has a premium that is based upon medical and health conditions of the insured person. The rule of thumb is greater the age, more is the premium. If the premium is not that high, then the returns are not very high. The younger the age, the lesser is the amount of the premium, longer is the maturity period and higher are returns. A new variant has however come up in the life insurance sector, that is the no medical exam life insurance.

Life Insurance with No Medical Exam

Life insurance with no medical exam is a concept that has been introduced quite recently and often many don't believe their ears when they hear about the policy. However, instead of getting your hopes too high let me first assure you that these policies are not valid for certain medical conditions.

The life insurance with no medical conditions are not granted to people suffering from chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension or cancer. Apart from that, many insurance companies grant such policies to people who are younger then 40 or 50 years of age. The idea behind such a policy is simple, people who have just embarked upon their careers do need a life insurance for their near and dear ones. However, they are not able to afford the extremely high premium rates that are usually imposed on life insurance policy. Hence, an easier and cheaper option for the time being. The covers reportedly vary from $5,000 to $50,000.

Though these insurance policies are tagged to be life insurance no physical exam, such policies do need a certification from the doctor or some simple reports such as blood tests and X-rays to prove that no birth problem, deformity or natural problem exists. The policy being small, has a rather small maturity period and the agreed returns are also small, but sufficient. The premium being affordable, the life insurance with no medical exam is a popular one among youngsters.

There is a second variant of this policy, for people who have good self confidence, who do not suffer diseases or disorders. This kind of life insurance with no medical exam has different kind of conditions in the agreement. According to these conditions the insurance compensation is provided in cases where the demise of the insured person is as a result of non medical reasons such as an accident. You can also get a similar policy that goes by the name 'term life insurance no medical exam'.

The life insurance with no medical exam is basically a low premium insurance policy and is basically taken as a stepping stone towards a bigger and costlier whole life insurance policy. I hope that the elaboration on life insurance with no medical exam proves to be of effect. Good luck.
By Scholasticus K
Published: 9/23/2010

How Much Life Insurance is Enough?

How Much Life Insurance is Enough?
Life insurance is a part of good family financial planning. But most individuals are confused and often end up asking the question, "how much life insurance do i need." This article will put an end to this confusion and will brief you about how much life insurance is enough for you. Keep reading…

Life insurance is a contract between the insurance company and the insurer, where the insurer agrees to pay a certain sum of money every month or year or quarter (as per the contract terms), and the company in turn pays the insurer's family a lump sum amount of money on the event of the insured individual's death or in case of critical illness.

Death is the inevitable truth of every individual's life. If your are the breadwinner of your family, and (god forbid) you embrace the bitter truth of life, i.e. death, anytime sooner than later. Phew… The thought itself horrifies you, doesn't it? Your family is no doubt going to miss you. But along with the physical loss, will accompany the financial loss. To keep going and live life as per the same standards as before, will not be easy for your family. To pay off your present debts if any, children's education costs, maintaining the present standard of living, inflation costs, and so on, will have to be taken care of, after you are gone. Life insurance helps restore all this. All your family has to deal with is your physical loss which no one in this world can replace. Everything else will be taken care of, if you have a proper life insurance. Now, if you are an individual with no dependents, you might be able to do away with life insurance, but if others depend on your income, life insurance is a good idea to replace your earning potential, when you are gone.

How Much Life Insurance Does a Person Need?

How much life insurance do you need is very subjective and not easy to answer. It's not some magic number that is derived. A lot of calculations and factors are to be considered while determining how much life insurance do you really need. Listed below are a few factors to be considered while actually calculating how much life insurance is enough for you.

Factors to be Considered

Your present financial standing.

Whether or not your spouse is working.

Any major expenditure in the near future like buying a new car, an apartment, children's education fees, and so on.

Debt to be paid off (if any).

Present size of savings of the family.

Social benefits, pension benefits, etc., available after death.

How Much Life Insurance is Enough?

Your main goal is to replace your present income, so as to maintain the same lifestyle.

Consider your financial situation and ponder upon the factors above.

List down the factors to be considered, and also about some big expenditure, if any to be made in the near future.

Once you're done with the above working and sure of your short term and long term needs, you will come to a certain figure, you would want to replace it, say yearly. Let's call it A.

To A now add all family maintenance expenses like entertainment, utility bills, travel and transportation, etc., on a yearly basis.

This figure is going to be something close to your annual salary or slightly more than that, since you consider a lot of other costs as well. Let's call it B.

To this figure you ought to add the inflation cost which rises at a pace of around 2% every year. We get C.

Now, count all your liquid assets like stocks, bonds, savings, and if you have other assets elsewhere, which can be liquidated. We will call it D.

Then reduce all the liquid assets from the figure you have calculated. i.e. (C - D).

The figure you arrive at is exactly what you are worth, and has to be replaced.

This figure represents the amount of life insurance you must buy.

To make things simpler, I have a simple formula you could use:

Long-term needs + short-term needs + inflation cost – resources (that can be liquidated) = how much life insurance you should have.

It is easy to get a large cover of life insurance, but in reality, you end paying a lot of extra money, and hence, blocking your capital. So, it's important you get just enough insurance cover so as to assure the replacement of your present income. You can also consider a financial planner, who should be able to help you out with exact the amount of life insurance required.

Life insurance comes in different sizes and boasts of different features, prices and terms. If you need a life insurance, make sure you educate yourself to make the right choice, because you don't want to end up paying more or stuck with inadequate coverage. Choose a policy that is more likely to fulfill all your financial hopes. Last but not the least, please read the offer document carefully before investing!

By Divya Bichu
Published: 3/22/2011

AXA Insurance Revamps its Term Lineup

Becoming dependent on long term care is one of them. We cannot secure our health, but we have insurance to help us with the financial needs associated with ageing. While life insurance mainly serves your family, critical illness and long term care insurance is supposed to cover your own expenses. Critical illness usually pays you a lump sum once you are diagnosed with a serious illness, while long term care insurance pays you a monthly sum that can help you to acquire day care or to pay for an assisted living facility.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lifeinsurane2011.blogspot.com/2011/04/are-insurers-ripping-off-long-term-care.html' title='Are Insurers Ripping Off Long Term Care Clients? But because one year term insurance isn’t a well liked product (due to the constant premium increases) the insurance companies smooth out these costs over periods of time or ‘terms’. Lets say they take the premiums in the above graph for a period of 5 years. Now rather than charging you the increasing premiums every year, instead they charge you the average premium over that 5 year term. You pay the same total costs, but now your premiums are level for 5 years. At the end of 5 years, your premiums increase and the company charges you the average premium over the next 5 year time period. The costs are the same, but now you’re premiums are level for 5 year increments. This type of insurance is called 5 year term.

If the company takes those underlying costs that increase every year and averages them out over 10 years (so your premiums are now level for 10 years), that is called 10 year term insurance.
And that’s term life insurance in a nutshell.
Types of life insurance

Life insurance has two primary attributes – the premium and the death benefit. If we strip away the marketing aspects from life insurance those are the two base attributes we should be concerned about. If we die, how much do our beneficiaries receive? And how much does it cost to receive those benefits?
Death Benefit
Let’s look at the death benefit first. If person A has $100,000 of one type of life insurance and person B has $100,000 of another type of life insurance and the both die, how much do the beneficiaries receive? In both cases, the beneficiaries receive $100,000. The beneficiaries can’t tell what type of insurance they had! The point here is that the death benefit is the same for all the various types of life insurance. It’s the premium that differentiates the different types of life insurance.
Premium
It’s the premium that differentiates the various types of life insurance available to us. How are the premiums different? Let’s first look at the basic underlying ‘cost’ of insurance.
Life insurance premiums, like all insurance, are based on the concept of risk. Higher risk means higher claims and that dictates higher premiums. For car insurance, drivers that get into accidents tend to be poorer risks and that leads to higher insurance premiums. But what makes us a poorer risk with life insurance?
For most of us, it’s our age. Younger people generally don’t die as often. Claims are less, so costs – and therefore premiums are lower. Larger numbers of people tend to die as we age, so therefore costs are higher. This is intuitive for most of us – life insurance is cheaper when we’re younger and gets more expensive as we get older.
If the insurance company was to directly charge us the direct cost of insurance based on our age then, our premiums would go up every year and would look something like the graph below.

This type of life insurance, where the costs are directly charged by age, is called one year term life insurance. It’s term life insurance because there’s no cash values and the premiums correlate directly with your age. It’s specifically “one year” term life insurance because the premiums increase every year (every ‘one’ year).
One year term insurance isn’t palatable to most consumers. Consumers would rather not pay premiums that they know are going to increase every year.

Life Insurance Quotes

Before you run your life insurance quotes, you may consider reading our articles on how much life insurance do I need You can get lower quotes, but you are less likely to receive those lower rates (and your overall fitness level is not a good indicator that you will receive lower rates). Assuming regular health class does not mean you won’t get lower or preferred premiums should you qualify – it is however the most realistic quote for most of us. In other words, you can get lower quotes – but you are unlikely to receive these rates (and your agent does not have any impact on what rates you do receive).

Take your medical exam first thing in the morning. If you’re able to, don’t have anything to eat or drink prior to the medical exam. This gives the insurance company clean bloodwork (no breakfast muddying up your blood test) as well as the lowest blood pressure reading for most of us.

Answer all medical questions completely and exhaustively. Be verbose, detailed, and complete. Doing so is counter-intuitive to most of us, we want to hold things back that may bias our case. In practice however, the more you disclose the better your chance is of receiving the best rate you can get. For example, underwriters are naturally conservative in their jobs. If they are on the fence about giving you better rates, they will feel more confident about giving someone the better rates if they have a detailed application. If they are on the fence and have what they perceive as an application that’s light on details, they will naturally take the more conservative (and higher for you) rate class.

Get quotes from more companies. Individual brokers don’t impact any specific company’s rates. You should see the same premiums from a company no matter what broker you work with. If you see lower quotes, it’s probably because brokers have assumed a preferred health class, see above. So the way a broker can get lower premiums is by shopping more companies. This ensures that you see the companies that have the lowest premiums for you. Our website uses the Compulife database for our online life insurance quotes. This is the same database that many insurance companies and brokers use inhouse. And we do not remove any companies or products from the quote – even if they are companies we don’t or cannot represent; we show you everything we can in our life insurance quotes.

Life Insurance

Being there means helping you protect your family’s future.
Life exists between the hours of the workweek.
