Japanese Green Tea Recipe

As a host mother of GEOS Japanese students for over 10 years, I have a craving for the traditional green tea.

Tenren.com green tea or matcha.com provide energy. Drink cold or hot. Find a green tea in your super market or Asian store near by.

Add sliced ginger root to brew for cold tea

Stir rapidly is a tradition scraping the loose leaves a few times slowly from the sides if tea bags are not used.

Sweeteners are not used as I have seen in Japan but in cool gene tea my friends use Stevia Extract from Brazil and Paraguay.

Traveling to Spain and living in California, we have had the awesome privilege to experience cactus type succulent plants that require little water. I love the variety and unusual blossoms on many desert bearing plants. The photo I've taken today can be placed in any garden because it's not real. There was a shady window horse basket next to a fountain in my back patio that shouted for love and attention. Using what I had at home, a creation was made tossed with sea shells. We live a mile from Newport Beach so I wanted to draw our love and travels of the sea by this expression. Creative art does a wonder for my life. I often think why don't I live in creativity...

Each New Year's, for over 25 years, Sondra has coordinated an outreach to the 1 1/2 million people who come to the Tournament of Roses Parade. As many as 1500 people representing over 100 different churches and ministries have come out to go witnessing and pass out gospel tracts along the 5 1/2 mile route.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We've been praying for you!!! We know that with all the uncertainty of what lies ahead - loss of jobs and wage roll backs, insurance increases, violent crime, and killer viruses - you may feel insecure or fearful of just what the future holds for your life in these "last days" when perilous times of great stress and trouble will come. - 2 Timothy 3:1.

Despite all the news on TV and in today's newspaper, I've got some good news for you!!! We've been praying for you!! You see, there is one thing you can be sure about, and that is the person who holds your future. You see, you may not know what the future holds, but you can know the one who holds your future!!!

Once I heard a little saying that goes like this - God sends people into your life to help fulfill His plan and purpose for your future - YOUR DESTINY IN LIFE. God wants to bring out the best in you - His talents, His abilities. The evil one - the devil - sends people into your life to fulfill his plan and purpose for your life. His destiny is to bring out the worst in your life - divorce, drugs, drinking, and lifelong habits that in the end will destroy your life and the life of your family.

You can start the new year out right by knowing who holds your future... By asking JESUS into your heart, and asking him to forgive you of all known sin. He will come to live with you and become your best friend and walk with you through troubled times. You will never be alone again and he will be your constant companion. He can set you free to become all that you were ever meant to be.
Just pray this prayer and start the New Year Right by giving Jesus your heart.

"Dear God, I want to know Jesus as my best friend, as my Lord and savior. I want to fulfill your destiny for my life - your plan and purposes for me. Please forgive me of my sins - my wrong choices, and come into my heart. I do want to know you personally and have eternal life. Please take control of every detail of my future. Teach me your ways and your will for me. Amen."- Romans 10:9, 10; I John 5:3, 4.

Now read your Bible when you get home - especially the New Testament - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - it will help you and bless you. Read the book of Proverbs and you will have Godly wisdom for your day-to-day life. Find a good church to attend... and know that you are loved by God and He will watch out over you to keep you safe in all your ways as you put your trust in Him.

¹⁵ Elijah said, “As the LORD Almighty lives, whom I serve, I will surely present myself to Ahab today.”

¹⁶ So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab went to meet Elijah. ¹⁷ When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?”
¹⁸ “I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the LORD’s commands and have followed the Baals. ¹⁹ Now summon the people from all over Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel. And bring the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”
²⁰ So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel. ²¹ Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.”
But the people said nothing.
²² Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only one of the LORD’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets. ²³ Get two bulls for us. Let Baal’s prophets choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. ²⁴ Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD. The god who answers by fire—he is God.”
Then all the people said, “What you say is good.”
²⁵ Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.” ²⁶ So they took the bull given them and prepared it.
Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made.
²⁷ At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” ²⁸ So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. ²⁹ Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.
³⁰ Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the LORD, which had been torn down. ³¹ Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.” ³² With the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs^[a] of seed. ³³ He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.”
³⁴ “Do it again,” he said, and they did it again.
“Do it a third time,” he ordered, and they did it the third time. ³⁵ The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.
³⁶ At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. ³⁷ Answer me, LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
³⁸ Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.
³⁹ When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The LORD—he is God! The LORD—he is God!”
⁴⁰ Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.
⁴¹ And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” ⁴² So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

Georg Friedrich Händel 1685, Isaiah 40: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people

"On February 23, 1685, the man whose music would forever inspire the world was born.

Georg Friedrich Händel quickly grew to be a famous composer and beloved musician. By the time he reached his twenties, Händelwas the talk of all of England and Italy. Queen Anne had him commissioned as the official composer for state occasions. Seats at his performances were often fought over, and his fame quickly spread throughout the world.

However, the glory soon passed. Audiences dropped off and his popularity was eclipsed by newer talent. Weary from the strain of overwork and disappointment, Händel suffered an attack of a paralytic disorder that left his right arm crippled. At 52, the once famed musician seemingly became an invalid and obsolete.

'Händel's great days are over,' wrote Frederick the Great, 'his inspiration is exhausted.'

Not long after Händel withdrew to recuperate, he was given a manuscript that included the opening lines from Isaiah 40: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people. Händel was stirred to write and his fingers were moved to play again. The artist enclosed himself in a room and on August 22, 1741, during the lowest ebb of his career, Georg Friedrich Händel composed Messiah. The entire oratorio was sketched and scored within three weeks.

On April 13th, 1742 in Dublin, Ireland, the first audience resounded with applause to the stirring music of Messiah, conducted byHändel himself. Ironically, following the initial performance and during Händel’s lifetime, Messiah enjoyed only moderate success though he performed it annually each Easter for his favorite charity. In fact, he continued to conduct the oratorio performances and revise the music score throughout the rest of his life, even during his last 7 years as he went blind.

Of his lasting effect on humanity, a British historian once commented, '[Händel's] oratorios thrive abundantly -- for my part, they give me an idea of heaven, where everybody is to sing whether they have voices or not.'

CHRISTMAS CREATIVE DECORATING AT HOME, Christ, History and Glitter

Bring out the Best!
Delivering a superb table set with generational dishes, silver, linens that has survived wars, family lines, history, memories...and then handed on again. I outline what has survived and create new with the old. I found some fabulous Venetian water and wine glasses at a boutique to add to our collection. (Remember we have been married 25 years. Be patient!) I love thrift stores. Each area can be popular in selling table cloths, china to silver!

Plan the Design...
It doesn't have to be expensive...however, it does take some pencil, paper and hunting around your cabinets to see what you have. Look through magazines, the Internet, and books for inspiration.

Theme and Glitter...

The centerpiece sets the theme. I always purchase them at an after christmas sale. I build the table from there. This year I'm using a crochet cloth upon a red velvet tablecloth. I used burlap to give the table a 21st century look. It's relaxing, builds character, and holds the traditional and recent purchases together like glue in style. I love to use plate chargers under each plate for keeping the table clean quickly while replacing with a dessert plate. Keep your colors down to a few. My palette I'm shooting for are red, beige, white, and sparkle for the extra touch.

The Final Touches...

Don't forget candles, lighting and music to set the mood. The entrance for your guest is so important. It says, "I love you!" I've added a photo for that as well. We love to thank Jesus for His great provision all year and honoring Him for the season through prayer.

Just finished a "hand -me -down" book of Forgotten God by my friend, Dane Shambrook! Thanks Dane! I've taken it here and there and with a couple of other books and finally just finished this radical book...but...I never did see Francis Chan's video he suggest we watch throughout our reads. So...in conclusion of the book...I did. This is a book worth adding to your reading list and video you gotta watch right now... 11 minutes. The video is a parallel in my terms of Chan's love for his children...4 or 5...I lost count. However, Chan shares that this love is the like the way God loves his children. Chan shares a moving in home segment interviewing all his children. I loved this piece.

The Holy Spirit lives with in us...let us not forget it.

RE: Be Resilient...Bendable...Don't Break...Lay Down

I wanted to forward a message that God is sharing with me from 2 Corinthians 4:7-11. Though we are hard pressed on every side...be resilient! We will not break because the mightly God lives within us! Shout this to me and I will shout this to you. I will pray for you to receive this message and promise that you will pray this message over me and the other Christians, family, friends and those who are in need! I was 27 when I as given this quote of brilliance from Pastor Crain a Bible Professor from Northern California. I had gone beyond breaking point.

Yet, he phrases to me: "Be resilent! Be bendable with God! You will never break!"

I am now 47...20 years later! This message permeates to my bones. The effectiveness of his message and the scripture below are truths. I have hurt. I have wept. I have laid prostrate before the Lord for days with worship music. Pain has surged my heart. I have been depressed for 8 months and then recovered. But I have never, never, never been forsaken. That is why I am with you today. Let us hold hands in Christian prayer and love. Survive this crazy earthly life and seek heaven...to be with our King. Do what you can with your gifts and talents. When you can't, tell God and someone, pray together...then as Psalms 23 says...lay down.

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surprising power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on ever side, but not crushed; perplexed; but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. celebrating in Huntington Beach with

all our family including Leigh (his daughter) from Long Island, New York.

Austin and Morgan (our x2 sons) both work at the Irvine Company and are continuing

their education: Austin (20 years November 26th) at Irvine Valley College and Morgan pre-courses to pursue

a chiropractic career. Morgan (22 years) graduated from Vanguard University in May with a B.A.

in Cultural Anthropology and is engaged to Jordan Ballard due to marry in 2012.

Bradley and I celebrated our 25th anniversary! We both studied Art History in Florence,Venice, and

Rome for Jennifer's continued teaching credential due to renew in 2012 every 5 years. Jen's step father

re-married a lovely bride, Judy, this summer. We celebrated a lovely family celebration

at the Hoffman home in Trabuco Canyon, CA. in June. Brad continues to work as a Sales Rep for www.COLUMBUSit.com ...He enjoys his free time with Chris, Casey and Kenny

socializing in Huntington Beach. We attend the Newport Mesa Church in Costa Mesa! Outside the family commitment, Jennifer Volunteers over 11+ years of service with a huge team at www.chatwithgod.org Ministries

We are having an incredible salvation revival in the public schools of Orange County & L.A, CA. Yes, you are reading correctly-we are preaching the gospel on the public school campuses and legally. Try and visit us if you are in the area, this Fri Dec 2 @ Newport Harbor High School @ 11-23am to 11-55am in the school Gym. This is a breakdown of our 5 public school outreaches in NOVEMBER and approx. student salvations, so far:
40 student salvations at Ensign Middle School (Newport Beach),
25 student decisions for Jesus at Corona del Mar High
300 student decisions for Jesus at Compton High(few months ago)
50 student decisions for Jesus at Corona del Mar Junior High
60 student salvations for Jesus at Mission Viejo High
=475 student salvations for Jesus

We have connected with FCA and are working together with their bible clubs on about 120 public school campuses.

Their Clubs invite us onto the school campus for a mid-day 30 min lunch time outreach. It is the clubs constitutional right to invite us onto campus as their guests. We use their Gym, large halls and classrooms. We print fliers to attract the non Christian students and the Christian students distribute them to their friends. We bring musicians, set up our sound system and then preach the gospel of salvation through Jesus.

Almost every student present has decided for Jesus in these services.

We have 31 Orange County public school outreaches already booked until June 2012, with about 21 more still in the process of booking. So far, our South African supporters have generously financed these US school outreaches as we have only been here for one year, however the South Africa school outreaches need their support.

Please prayerfully consider sponsoring some of these salvation packs. We are running short because of the 475 already sown into these young lives.

The Lord has opened the doors of the Orange County and Los Angeles public schools to us. We are going and have gone, but please help us sow these salvation packs.

1. Prayer of thanksgiving
"This month was so exciting for us as a team when we were able to purchase an almost brand new 4x4 Nissan, with only 12 661km on the clock for our second outreach team. This has been an answer to prayer for us and we are so very grateful to the Lord for His provision.
We also give thanks for the launch of our second school team this month and for the doubling of school outreaches and souls coming to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

2 Chronicles 29:31 “Then Hezekiah answered and said, "Now that you have consecrated yourselves to the Lord, come near, and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the Lord." So the assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings, and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings”

Jer 31: 3 “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

We have so much to be thankful for. Let us lift our hearts to the Lord for His love and His goodness and the gifts He gives us in our lives each day.

2. Prayer for students and teachers-
We need to pray for the thousands of students and teachers that are deciding for Jesus daily that they will grow in their Christian faith
-Pray for strength and endurance for churches to continue with the follow-up process

2 Peter 1:3 "... that they may grow in the knowledge of God, through His divine power He will give them everything they need for life and godliness."

3. Pray for the Manifest Presence of God
Pray for the glory of the Lord, His manifest presence to fall in our school outreaches, our daily team prayer meetings and monthly STWF Prayer meetings. Pray that our staff, our partners and our friends will have an encounter with Jesus and be changed. That the presence of the Lord will fall in our training centre and that students will be called and set apart by the Holy Spirit.

Exodus 33: 18 “And he said, "Please, show me Your glory”

Numbers 20:6 “So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the Lord appeared to them”

4.Prayer for Boldness
Pray for boldness to preach the gospel one on one. That every staff member, prayer partner, friend and future student will boldly share the gospel of Jesus wherever they go and with whoever they encounter. Pray that we will know who we are in Christ and start walking in that power and authority.

2 Tim 1: 7 "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind"

Acts 28: 31 “....preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.”

1 Cor 4:20 “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”

5. Pray for the STWF Training School
- Pray for the Jarrod and Lucinda and those that are helping them set up the framework and structure for the school
- Pray that only God the Fathers' heart will shine through in the modules and activities planned for the students
- Pray that God will send the right people to be involved in the Training Centre
-Pray for funds to complete the ministry renovations for the training school

Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

6. Pray for our friends and Partners
-Pray that they may enjoy abundance from the Lord.
-Pray for financial success in their work and businesses, for great staff members to join their work and for business growth
-Pray for record sales, increased productivity
-Pray for ideas, inventions and innovations
-Pray for their marriages to prosper and for their spouses and children to serve the Lord

Job 22:28 “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.”

2 Cor 9: 10-12 “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God”

Isaiah 45: 3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel"

-Pray for their protection and good health.

Psalms 92: 12-15 “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."

7. Pray for USA Team
The Lord has opened doors into the schools into 50 Orange County schools with an organisation called Fellowship of Christian Athletes. They have Christian bible clubs that meet weekly. We have 7 school outreaches planned so far for Nov, Dec and Jan. Its averaging one a week. Jarrod and Lucinda have adopted 6 schools and are in a different one daily, building up the Christian leadership in each Bible Club, in preparation for the outreach and helping to become soul winners.

Psalms 2:8 “Ask of me, and I shall give you the nations for your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.”

-Pray for continued favor to have evangelism outreaches in schools and to raise up student leaders as evangelists in the schools.
-Pray for churches committing to working with FCA and STWF to adopt these schools and new converts
-Pray for financial breakthrough with US Christians to support STWF in the US to continue our work there.
-Pray for favour with Christian TV stations and Radio stations to broadcast our weekly TV Show and for finances to broadcast the show"
