How to make a Corrupt/Damaged USB/SD card Work

Now a days, all of us keep our data in external memory such as SD cards or USB’s. Some of the data is of high importance that we don’t want to lose. But what will happen if our SD card or USB get corrupted. A NIGHTMARE for us. But hold, here I have some tips by which we can make our corrupted USB or SD card to work. I have discussed methods below:

Formatting USB/SD card

Sometimes, this method works and it is much easier than by other methods. So I recommend you if you hadn’t try this method then format your USB/SD card before doing other methods. So here are the steps

Locate your USB/SD card in file explorer.
Right-Click on your USB/SD card
Select Format option.
Below window will appear
Select File System of your type or if you don’t know what to choose then click here.
Otherwise, recommended is NTFS format.
Select NTFS and then uncheck Quick Format and click on start.

It will take some time, when completed successfully you are ready to use your USB/SD card.

Changing Drive Letter

If above method not works, then by changing letter of your USB/SD card drive letter make them to work again. For this method follow these rules

Right-Click on “this PC”.
Click on “Manage”.
Then go to Disk management.
Find your USB/SD card and right click on it.
Select change letter or path.
Click on “change...”
From drop-down menu select a letter and click Ok.

Re-plug your USB/SD card and it will work.

Using Command and Prompt (My favorite)

This is the third method for recovery of corrupted USB/SD card. This method is powerful than previous but more cautious than others. Follow each step carefully because by mistake you can format your primary partition (huge loss).

Press Win+R on your keyboard.
Enter “cmd” (without quotes).
Command and Prompt will open. In it, type diskpart.
It will ask administration rights, give it rights a new window of cmd will appear.
Enter list disk(with space).
From list of disks remember Disk### of your USB/SD card.
Now Enter select disk (number of your USB/SD card.)
Your disk will be selected.
Now enter clean.
Success message will appear.
Now enter create partition primary.
Now type active.
Type select partition 1.
Now type format fs= (Enter your wanted partition method FAT32, NTFS or exFAT or if you don’t know click here.) recommended is NTFS (as shown in the figure below).
It will take some time, when completed successfully you will be ready to use your USB/SD card.

Methods to save your USB/SD card from corruption

Always insert your USB/SD card in a non-virus PC. After using your USB/SD card safely remove it from your PC or laptop. All of these are precautionary steps that will prevent USB/SD card from corruption but like all other things USB/SD card also has lifetime. (Lifetime for USB/SD card very much high so don’t worry.)

Keywords are the most important thing to focus to get traffic. Pick those keywords that are included in adverts. Because adverts are SEO optimized so if you add those keywords that adverts include there is a huge chance of an increase in traffic. For example, I searched for “how to make free website” and I got this result:

An ad. Showed for Free website maker. If you include these keywords i.e ”website maker” in your website then the search engine will show them on a higher rank.

EXTRA: Keywords like “How to”, “Effectively”, “Surely”, “Solved”, “increase” are most searched keywords.

BackLinks:

Backlinks are how many websites are redirecting to your website. Backlinks are directly linked to traffic on your website. So try to add backlinks as much as possible. Previously, google ranked sites on the basis of backlinks. If you have many backlinks for your website there is a huge possibility of gaining higher rank on search results. Ultimately, a stream of organic traffic will increase on your website.

An easy method to increase backlinks is to search similar topic as of your article. Open that article and in comment section post link to your article.

Sitemap:

Sitemap of website is a like a track of your website. Add a sitemap on google search console a.k.a google webmaster tools. This will help web crawler to navigate through your website and search the result of query.

Link to other websites:

Now, this is another important thing, add URL’s to other sites. More traffic redirecting from your website will rank your website higher on search engines. And try to shorten URL’s.

Introduction to Article:

This is the most important thing you have to do, try to write the introductory paragraph of your article more interesting. Because around 80% users left website if they didn’t found first paragraph interesting. Think, re-think then write your article. More time users spend on your website greater will be the

Loading Time:

Make sure your website loads in very less time because in present time people hate slow loading and if they face these problems on your website then they will leave your website in no time. So try to optimize your website.

Schema microdata:

Through google search console submit schemas microdata on your website. These schemas will tell web crawler what your site is about. If web crawler successfully understands your schemas then it will show your website on a higher position in search results.

schema.org will help you in submitting these schemas on your website.

Good Content:

Last but not the least, write good content that attracts readers. Pick a topic and stick to it. Do not mix different type of articles on your website. If you are writing about technology then write only about it. Do not add cooking recipes in it.

Another important thing is, write your article in headings. It will help reader to easily skim and scan your article.

What is difference between Delete, Erase and Wipe?

If you are a computer user then at least once in your life you had felt to remove some data from your device. To remove data, mostly you had used the in-built delete function of your operating system (windows, Linux….etc.). But delete is not the only method to remove data from your hard-drive. There are other methods which are more effective if you want to remove some confidential data. Erase and wipe are the other methods. I will explain the difference between delete, Erase and Wipe one by one below:

Delete:

This is the in-built function of almost every operating system. Delete does not remove data from your hard-drive permanently. Even if you empty recycle- bin, your data will be present somewhere in your hard-disk. Basically, operating system gives an illusion to you that your data is not present on your hard-drive. You can also recover your deleted data by using different recovery software.

Erase:

Another method to remove data is Erase method. It is more effective than delete method. This method performs one pass 0’s overwriting your data. In simple words, it will change your data to a string of 0’s and then delete the data. There is an encapsulation in this method first 0’s are placed and then it is deleted.

Wipe:

The last method is wipe. Like a paper shredder, wipe method shred data. But how data can be shredded. Wipe method overwrites the existing data with 0’s just like erase method but the difference is that wipe replaces in random order. So it is almost impossible to recover wiped data unless NSA tries to recover data. If you are selling your device or want to delete some confidential data always use wipe method. Many software’s are available in the market that performs data wiping.

When surfing internet many times you had read about Ransomware attack. And you might thought what exactly this Ransomware attack is? In this article, I will explain what ransomware is and how to protect yourself from being infected by it.

What is Ransomware?

From its name “Ransom” it is clear that this malware is about money. It is a special kind of malware which installs itself on victim’s computer and locks or hides files of victim and demand ransom to unlock them. Specialty of this malware is that it can’t be deleted.

Crypto Ransomware:

This ransomware is mostly used by attackers. It is based on strong encrypting algorithms that encrypts files of user and provide key to files after ransom payment from victim.

Why Ransom-ware is too dangerous?

As mentioned earlier this malware can’t be deleted.
They accept money in form of bitcoins, because bitcoins can’t be tracked by cyber-security.
They tracks location of their victim and display message on his screen in his language about ransom.
Another thing that make it too dangerous that it can spread itself from one computer to another computer. If many computers are connected through LAN then there is huge chance of ransom-ware attack on all computers.

Major Target of Ransom-ware:

In past, mostly single user get affected by Ransom-ware. But now due to increase in strength of its attack and better algorithms it attacks police departments, schools hospitals where a lot of important data is present and also they can pay high ransom.

Another reason to attack on business community is that, this malware can spread on cloud-based sharing system so more victims more ransom.

How Ransom-ware fired by cyber-criminals?

Spam emails are best medium for transportation of ransom-ware. But this mostly effect single user.
By embedding its code with other mostly used softwares.
By redirecting victim to malicious website.
Advertisement of fake product.

How to remain safe from Ransom-ware?

Always keep backup of your data.
Always keep your operating system up-to-date.
Do not submit your personal data on unknown websites.
Never download software from non-trusted websites
Never use pirated software.
Try to redirect to only https protected websites.
Do not open unknown emails or sharing data links.
Must use antivirus for your system.

Using designs from artists and machine learning Google built this tool. AutoDraw is similar to text predictor. But of course, it is much more than that. It predicts what user wants to draw and shows predicted results to user from which he can choose desired sketch. It has hundreds of images in its database and able to predict almost every image. Google Docs Phishing Scam

Reported on May 4, Google shutdowns many phishing attack this week. This Scam is named as Google Docs worm affected many Gmail users. People received email containing link to open a google Doc. On clicking link accounts get hacked and users lost their personal information.

According to Google, link is received by another Gmail id and looks very similar to original google docs sharing window. On clicking button it redirects user to google docs but in back end link sends all data of user to third-party. Although Google didn’t disclose the amount of users get affected by this Scam but by the seriousness of this news shows that a huge amount of users gets affected. The main reason why many users gets affected because email containing fake link seems to come from google. So unknowingly many users clicked the button and lost their personal information.

Google said that they have closed many offending accounts and will take care that these kinds of events will never happen again.

Microsoft Surface Laptop

On May 2, Microsoft revealed its new Surface product that is Surface Laptop. Let’s have a look what are new things added to this gadget.

Surface Laptop is loaded with many eye-catching features. On top of them is its graceful design. Keyboard is covered with Alcantara fabric with a little space for backlit. Surface Laptop have a touchscreen LED.

In its new gadget, Microsoft installed corei5/corei7 processors with RAM up to 16GB Standard product comes with 128 GB of SSD. To keep away laptop from overheating, Microsoft used vapor chambers with aluminum finishing on the back of laptop. Another feature they added to their new product, is that speakers are beneath keyboard giving laptop a smarty look. For surface laptop, company adopted its new OS Windows 10S.

As battery life of Surface Laptop is about 14.5 hours Microsoft claims that “it is faster than MacBook pro and it has more battery life than any MacBook Air on the market today”.

According to officials of Microsoft, they will start shipping of Surface laptop on June 15 and its initial price will be $999.

FAT32 vs NTFS vs exFAT

Now a days computers have become essential part of our life. We store our work and many other files on it. But have you ever think that how operating system (Windows or Linux etc.) stores these files inside your hard disk. Well if you don’t, in this article I will tell you how.

File System

In real life, when you want to store some files you think of a place where you can find them easily and place them there. Similarly, operating systems have FILE SYSTEM to store your files on hard disk where it can easily find these files when user wants them.

In modern operating systems, FAT32, NTFS and exFAT are used. Now let have a look on the differences between these file systems.

FAT32 File System

File Allocation Table or simply FAT is the oldest file system, introduced in 1977. FAT32 latest variant of this file system. It has 32-bit file allocation table. In past few decades, FAT32 was the best file system because it can store information of files up to 4GB. But with advancement of technology this advantage became limitation of FAT32. But still FAT32 is used in gaming consoles, USB ports where individual file does not exceed 4GB. Due to its limitations, computer scientists developed a new and better file system called NTFS.

NTFS File System

NT file system was firstly introduced by Microsoft in Windows NT in 1993. NTFS can support up to file size of 16EB. Which is HUGEE. Surely now you were thinking that your files are not much bigger. But NTFS was developed with idea that it will serves new generation computers. Now a days, many operating systems by default format partition with NTFS format.

exFAT File System

Extended FAT or simply exFAT is a property of Microsoft. Microsoft developed this file-system for removable storage devices. Like NTFS, it can offer up to 16EB file size. Also it is lighter than NTFS. Since, Microsoft doesn’t make exFAT open source so vendors have to get license to format their devices to exFAT. This file system is used where NTFS is not feasible to use like high capacity memory cards.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review

As the news was floating the sky that Samsung will launch a phone that will fill the void created due to NOTE 7. By not destroying hopes of its users Samsung released its magnificent SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 a month ago.

By personally using it, I can say this gadget is the best product produced by SAMSUNG. Here is a brief review of S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Design

For last few years, every smartphone manufactures were focusing on whole screen display. Before release of IPhone 7 the rumors were circulating that it will have no define borders and it will be a whole glass product.

The most outstanding feature of S8 is its design, the infinity display, over sized Screen. To make it look bigger Samsung has removed the home button from screen and added 3D touch option just for home button. Fingerprint scanner moved near camera.

Another thing that adds to its beauty is covering of gorilla glass on its face as well on its back. Along with it, there is a metal plate covering the sides of phone which makes it resistant to damage and also polishes its beauty. By looking at phone one can say that it is real example of beauty and the beast.

Samsung S8 display and performance

Now coming towards display of phone. S8 with its 1440x2960(px) display and Super AMOLED screen provides a clear and real touch to its users. A news was circulating that S8 screen has some reddish colors that make display cheap, when was investigated by company it was revealed that it was rumored by their competitors. As I wrote earlier the infinity display of S8 gives the phone five star rank.

Performance

Here comes the most important part of S8. S8 is powered with octa-core processor, MALI GPU and 4GB of RAM. Along with these features, it has cooling system like s7 but this one is more advance obviously. Even by running intensive applications phone never hangs and never gets hot. Huge internal storage also adds to its performance.

S8 has 3000 mAh non-removable battery. To avoid tragedies like NOTE 7 Samsung avoided Li-Po batteries and relies on Li-ion battery. Battery timing of S8 is awesome, even on Wi-Fi or on mobile data battery drains very slowly.

BAD SIDE

Despite of all above awesome features S8 has still many drawbacks.

First is location fingerprint scanner. Since phone is about 6 inch longer one cannot simply hold phone in hand and unlocks his phone. There is a risk of slipping of phone from user’s hand also S8 has very slippery body.

Second thing is BIXBY. To compete with Siri of Apple, Samsung introduced its AI agent Bixby on S8 and S8+.BIXBY is good but sometimes it makes terrible mistakes. Also for some regions of world BIXBY voice command support was not available. According to many users there was no need for Bixby now.

Third thing is FACIAL RECOGNIZATION and IRIS SCANNER. S8 comes with Facial recognition system and iris scanner which both are indeed great security guards. But the problem is in low-light both fails to recognize you. So making phone harder to unlock.

Since everything has both positive and negative features so as S8 has. But if we judge both then we can easily say that despite of bad features still S8 is awesome product and worthy to buy.

What are DLL files

If you are windows user then many times DLL files came in front of your eyes. Have you ever thought what are these files? What is purpose of these files? In this article, i will tell you what are DLL files and explain their purpose.

DLL files stands for DYNAMIC-LINK LIBRARY. Microsoft designed these files for their OS(operating system) i.e Windows to improve performance. Performance in terms of memory management and many other low level definitions.

So exactly What it is?

DLL files contains code, references, and data. When a windows app developer writes an application he does not add all code rather he instructs his program to fetch data from a location whose address is placed in these dll files. Mostly every application in windows needs dll files for its execution. These are just like executeble files rather they cannot be directly executed. With dll files program is modulaized which improves performence. Apparantly it seems a good technique but everyting has both positive and negative aspects.

BAD SIDE

Sometimes when a user run an application a error will pop-up with message ".dll file not found".

Reason is that your application needs some code which is located in required dll file and due to its absence application shows error. This is the most annoying part of dll files. To fix it, either you have to manually download the required file or to re-install your application. Not only this, dll files are not update compatible.

In last decade, this problem became a serious issue for Microsoft. Issue was raised so high that many developers started to say "DLL HELL!".

With its pros and cons, DLL files are still in use by Microsoft. And their design has improved to much extent.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 was released in November 2017. By shape it is identical to previous surface book. And obviously the Surface Pen and Surface Dial made this machine perfect for developers and designers.
