Messing Around

2013-11-14T15:57:00.001-05:00

Just messing around! Pretty sure we have more pics lurking on other cameras too. Had a fun time with Grandma here. Wish we lived closer but not colder! Ha ha.

The Drs Glockner visit

2013-11-14T13:30:00.001-05:00

Our exchange students, Lina and Mareike, came for a visit! We hungout around Fishhawk, shopped and took them out to Siesta Key. Currently they are in Key West then will pass by here again before departing for Germany. Both are now grown women and doctors! They are amazing young women and we are thrilled to have them here!

Beach Visit with Grandma

2013-11-14T13:22:00.001-05:00

While mom was here we took her out to Pass-A-Grille. That's our favorite beach and just an hour away. The kids had fun and swam even though the water temps are a bit cooler!

Homecoming Queen

2013-11-14T13:19:00.001-05:00

We call her the "Crown Collector". Crowned for the 2nd year Miss Kelsey was elected as Homecoming Queen. She says its because she's nice to everyone- even kids no one is nice to. That might be true!

Halloween 2013

2013-11-14T13:16:00.002-05:00

Happy Halloween! We tried painted pumpkins this year because in Florida we can't carve them until 24 hrs prior and seems like such a waste. These came out sooooo cute!

My mom was here for a visit and it was a treat to have her here for the Halloween festivities. We decided to have friends stop over pre-trick-or-treating for haunting treats and then POOF- all went in 4 directions.

So much soccer

2013-11-14T13:11:00.003-05:00

Now that football ended the boys are into soccer. Matthew jumped on a competitive team up at FishHawk. Matthew is practicing 3 x a week plus 1 x week for goalie training.

Kass is home field is 1 hr 30 min away from here so Mon and Wed is quite a long night for her. We are trying to find a trainer for her for Tues/Thurs but much closer by.

Mason is playing recreational soccer with only one practice a week and one home game on the weekend.

The competitive players clash in times and locations every weekend so we have to divide and conquer. It's very physical and we are seeing girls at Kasssidy's level tearing their ACLs and dealing with very serious injuries. At the high school level they are in surgery for injuries and sometimes have permanent long lasting injuries ending their game.

We like for a parent to be at the games for moral support and safety!

Boys of Fall

2013-11-14T13:03:00.001-05:00

Football season has come to an end for both of the boys. Matt enjoyed coaching very much, the boys both played well and remained injury free. I believe all 3 Razvillas boys will be returning to the football fields next August 1st! I have loads of pictures and am awaiting a disc from a professional photographer that I'll share when we get it.

Running in Circles

2013-11-14T12:57:00.004-05:00

It's mid-November and I haven't blogged in a month. I didn't even remember the password to get in to blog. That's how CRAZY it is here! I've had one or more children at home sick for 8 school days in a row. Kelsey, Mason and I spent all of Tues at the ER and all of Wed at the base clinic. Today I was going to finally be home to regroup!

Today is a common example of my day….Mason went in a few minutes late because we could not find his shoes. ANYWHERE. Talked him into long sleeves because the high was 50 yesterday and a sweatshirt. Located the sneakers in the backyard all wet from sprinklers. Put them in the dryer…..

Kelsey wasn't going to school today because she's suffering from migraines. Her class was going to the Tampa Courthouse all day and we feared her needing to come home. However, in the madness of the shoe search I forgot to tell her ride that :(

Came back from elementary drop off to pick up middle schoolers. Only Matthew was ready. Kass was upstairs in a crisis because she only has one pair of long pants and wore them yesterday. EVERYONE would know if she wore the same pants. (It's our 1st real cold front and quick discovery of wardrobe deficiencies.)

Took Matthew and our neighbor to school and came back to wait for Kassidy. Threw in some laundry and she was ready. We looked at the size/make/model/brand of her only jeans and left. As she got out of the car she noted that she left her lunch in the fridge at home.

Came in and called a school that Kelsey might want to transfer to mid-year explaining that she was home today. Could we do 10:30? Yikes, yes. Gave us 40 min to get ready. Woke her up, ordered some pants online for Kass to try on and I'll return if she doesn't like. Got myself ready and went to grab her lunch to deliver after school tour……..there's TWO lunches in there. Matthew forgot his as well. Ugh.

Toured the school and liked it. Mess of paperwork, fees and transfer credits. Final decision not made. Made my 3rd trip this morning to the middle school to deliver lunches but one child already had lunch so Kelsey now has a bag lunch!

Pulled into the driveway and got a text from Mason's teacher that he is too hot. Drove back to the elementary school for my 2nd visit with a shirtsleeve shirt. Found him in the cafeteria but he wouldn't change! I put it in his lunchbox.

Now I have one hour left until I pick him up again at 215 (3rd elementary visit). Then I pick Kass up at 315 (4th Randall visit). Then Matthew arrives at 430. Then dinner and sports madness begins.

Notice I went no where errand wise? Cleaned nothing? No groceries?

Silent Chore System

2013-10-14T16:57:00.002-04:00

We have a new chore system in the house. It's a silent system to eliminate nagging and haggling. At dinner last night we discussed their expected contribution and when it is expected to be done on a daily basis. If it is not completed I will silently confiscate cell phone, iPad or turn off TV/electronic devise until complete.

Simple.
Silent.

AC/DC soccer tournament

2013-10-14T16:52:00.003-04:00

Kass had a tournament this weekend north of the boy's football. We missed the 1st game but caught the 2nd on Saturday. They played one more game Sun am but didn't advance to the finals. They tied 2 games and won 1. Kass played midfield a bit for the first time and I caught a photo just after she did a header. Pretty cool play by her and I was happy I snapped just at that moment- should be the last picture on this post.

Football in the hood

2013-10-14T16:46:00.000-04:00

We were a bit nervous to head to the Manatee fields on Saturday. A man was shot and killed during their first practice there and they've seen violence since. They promised extra police security during the games but we didn't note any.

Mason's team lost but no one was hurt so we were pleased about that. He asked to run the ball and made it about 3 yards before being tackled. He was beaming though! We stayed on for Matthew's game who also lost but again no one was injured and we counted that as a blessing! Mason is #15 and Matthew is #57

Navy Seal in the house

2013-10-09T12:13:00.001-04:00

The Halloween costume has been chosen...

Football ready?

2013-10-09T12:07:00.001-04:00

Last Saturday Mason was revved up and ready to play but Matthew was still recovering from an asthma wave. Mason played then acted as a water boy for Matthew's team. Tubbs sat on the sidelines for the 1st half and napped the second! Kass was a water girl for 3 games logging 6 volunteer hours and a lobster sunburn :(

Meet "Bobby"

2013-10-03T22:43:00.001-04:00

Wow we were shopping at target we spied a full-sized skeleton and decided to put him in the cart. Mason named him "Bobby bones" and we are having fun posing him all over the house!!! It's going to be a fun October....

The right decision.

2013-10-03T22:31:00.001-04:00

Our decision to pull the plug on the VPK job was a dynamite decision. It allows me to aid in late night homework (like now) and drive kids to school in 3 shifts. I can now get middle schoolers to before school clubs and tutoring. I can pick up a child with a fever on Monday morning and take said child to the doctor both Tuesday and Thursday for asthma. I'm grateful everyday to be able to take care of the family without stressing about VPK. And on the bright side I get to sew and paint for us or others and seem to be making about the same amount!

Down Range

2013-09-29T20:42:00.001-04:00

Today after church we hit the range at Shooter's World in Tampa. All but Mason shot but we got him a cork pop gun to occupy him. He slipped in down the side of his pants to "conceal" it as we left!

Dabbling

2013-09-25T21:07:00.001-04:00

Now that I am home again I feel like I have a much better handle on our lives! Between the errands, cleaning and appointments I have been dabbling with some projects at home and as Desperate Craft Wife on Facebook. Makes me happy to paint, sew or project a bit on the side :)

Imagine Dragons

2013-09-25T21:06:00.001-04:00

What the heck is that? It's a band Kelsey has loved for some time and they came to Tampa tonight for a concert. She was sooooo excited to go with her friend Allison! They tie dyed shirts last night in the album colors and sprayed their hair with the colors before the concert. I'm sure she's having the time of her life right now :)

Quit----Hanging up the apron!

2013-09-08T09:52:00.001-04:00

Effective on Thursday afternoon I hung up my VPK apron. Before school even started and after meet the 18th teacher Matt and I talked about it and decided it was not a necessary job for me.

Last year I was gone 7:30- 12:30 last year with little time to do more than vacuum or unload dishes before the kids came home, homework, dinner and sports start up. I don't have time to run errands during the week and the weekends we run around with sports.

Without time to plan meals my little $200 income all went out the window for convenience food sprees. Our house becomes a messy wreck and we all end up frazzled.

Sooooo- I asked them to replace me ASAP to be home to run things more smoothly and assist Matthew with his middle school adjustment more.

I'm looking forward to giving this house a deep clean this week and wrapping up some home repairs here. I may craft, repaint furniture, quilt etc to make a small amount of money through my Facebook page Desperate Craft Wife or word of mouth ---would be awesome if I could match my old income but we will see!

Pack VS Longhorns

2013-09-08T09:39:00.002-04:00

Yesterday we logged another 8 hours on the football field in Ruskin this time. The tiny might team fought hard and the junior pee wee's fought even harder and gained a victory! Kassidy came out to support the boys as a water girl (and landed 3 service hours).

Labor Day Soccer Showcase

2013-09-08T09:31:00.000-04:00

Kassidy had a Labor Day Tournament about an hour away for all 3 days with her new team. They played hard with game scores of 4-0, 4-0, 3-1 and then in the finals it was 0-0 until a penalty kick. They ended up taking second place in their age group. A promising start to their season!

Season opener

2013-09-08T09:25:00.001-04:00

Football is in full swing. The first game was against the Manatee Wildcats and it was a sweltering day. Mason's team is the first and Matthew's is the third so we end up being on the fields for 8 HOURS. Mason is #15 and Matthew is #57. Go Wolfpack!

And so it begins

2013-08-23T14:55:00.002-04:00

Back to school week here for everyone!

Kels is in 10th grade and her school is in Riverview (15-20 min drive). Same school as last year and we are eternally grateful for her daily ride due to no bus!

Kass is in 8th and Matthew began 6th- both at the same school with a bus. However, Kass gets out an hour earlier by carpool to balance her new soccer team that is located 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 min away! Another carpool.

Mason began 1st grade in walking distance so....no bus. For now I drive him on the way to work.
We had a crisis 4 out of the 4 school days this week from money miscommunications to missed buses.

I asked them to find a replacement for me! I get very little money for the chaos the job adds to my life. It will never get me a teaching job. I have to sub and show up at target schools for that and can't if teaching VPK. So, for now I said I'll teach until they find a new teacher. Then I plan to whip the house into shape and work on the sub application process.

Back to school is here already

2013-08-15T22:13:00.001-04:00

Tonight was meet the teacher night at the elementary and high school. Mason got Mrs Keedy for 1st grade which is a teacher Matthew had so I know Mas will have a great year!

Kelsey has the same teacher as last year and a lot of the same kids in her class. She's ready to head back for her 10th grade year and even drove us to open house tonight!

Tomorrow 1:30-4:30 we will meet Matthew's 6th grade team and then 5:30-8:30 we will meet Kassidy's 8th grade team.

Finally on Saturday morning I will meet my little VPK class.

Kelsey starts Monday and the rest of us begin Tuesday.

Football fun

2013-08-15T22:07:00.001-04:00

Starting Aug 1st football practice has been every night Monday-Friday and Saturday morning.

Matt is coaching Matthew's junior pee wee team and Mason is playing on the youngest tackle team- the tiny mights.

The boys just got their jerseys and are pretty proud. Mason is #15 and Matthew is # 57 this season.

First game is next weekend! Go Wolfpack!
