Hunted: The Demon's Forge seems like a game that will creep into Spring 2011 unnoticed. Most gamers I talk to have no idea what game I am mentioning when I bring this title up. However, I feel that it will exceed expectations. This preview is for the gamers that don't know a lot about Hunted.

What is Hunted about?
Bethesda Softwork's main page on the game describes it as this:

"The dark ages have become corrupted. Heinous creatures have emerged from underground. Townsfolk across the land are disappearing. Upon the promise of their fortune in gold, mercenaries E'lara and Caddoc take on the daunting task of discovering where the innocent villagers have been taken. Their journey will lead them on a dark and twisted path where they will encounter death, slavery, and sacrifice. Travel deep within the world of Kala Moor...and to the secrets of The Demon's Forge."
You have the power to control E'lara or Caddoc on your adventures. E'lara is a ranged weapons expert while Caddoc is a stron swordsman. Along your way, you will discover magic, treasurem, and plenty of vicious monsters ready to kill you. Sounds fun.

Caddoc and E'lara standing outside of what seems to be a giant monster's carcass

This game has been labeled as 'action/adventure'. Sorry for all the gamers that anticipated this as a RPG, but it probably won't have many RPG elements in it. The game will play in a third-person combat style, and I would assume most people would want that anyways.

Bethesda has not announced any online play, but it would be ideal. The entire (or most of) the story will be based on co-op play between E'lara and Caddoc. Giving the gamer some sort of multiplayer option would be helpful because these games tend to be more enjoyable that way.

The story of the game is the only thing we can really be sure about for now. Everything else about the game is sort of up in the air. Hopefully the great minds at Bethesda (the same ones who brought us Fallout: New Vegas, and Oblivion) will deliver an action packed game for Spring of 2011.

Want Fallout: New Vegas DLC? Too Bad...

Bethesda Softworks has announced DLC for Fallout: New Vegas, but it looks like us PlayStation users are not invited to the opening party. Xbox 360 will be getting their hands on the DLC December 21, 2010. A PlayStation Store release date has not been announced. So, for now at least, we can only hope that this DLC, known as "Dead Money", will come to PlayStation. When, or if, it does, we will be sure to have a first look as well as a review upon its release.

Let's hope it will not take 10 months to get here though.

First of all the release of the pack is on Nov. 2, 2010. The new content will be available for PS3, Xbox Live, and PC. We can expect new a new game mode as well as new maps. The new game mode is called Clean Sweep. Players will have to work together, stay alive, and eliminate the other team to be victorious. The new maps are Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves. We don't know if the new maps will be available for other game modes outside of Clean Sweep.

Also, on Nov. 2. Hot Zone game mode will be available with two new maps. The two new maps are Hindukush Pass and Korengal Outpost. Although new DLC is always exciting, this is not free. This DLC will cost you $9.99 in the PlayStation Store.

Having fun in the Wasteland...

Fallout: New Vegas was a game that I have been waiting for. I completed Fallout 3 and long time ago, and I was very pleased to hear about a new game. Anyone who doesn't know much about the Fallout series must be confused right about now, so I will explain some things. Fallout takes place after nuclear weapons go off in the USA. In Fallout 3 you find yourself in Washington D.C. after escaping an underground vault, much like a safe zone, helping others in need to make a name for yourself in the Wasteland of America. This new title is in California, and it takes place in the Mojave Desert. There has been a lot of talk about Fallout: New Vegas however. Let's see if it lives up to the expectations of loyal Fallout fans.

No Vaults.

Unlike Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas took a new approach to the beginning of the game. You are a courier at first. It seems like a simple job delivering small packages to New Vegas, but there is one package in particular that gets some attention from a lot of people. This package contains a platinum poker chip. You probably think nothing of a platinum chip, but this chip is definitely special. A few problems present themselves and set up the entire base for the story in Fallout New Vegas.

Bad beginnings.

After you face your problems you are, let's say, recovered at a doctors' house. He makes sure you are functioning properly to go out into the wastes along again. Being with the doc sets up your skill choices for the rest of the game. This was very depressing for me because it was not nearly as meaningful and fun as growing up and escaping a vault. However, no one is going to hang their head from the beginning because of the great gameplay that follows setting up your character.

Factions.

I am only going to mention this, but it's slightly important. In Fallout 3 there was the Brotherhood of Steel, and the Enclave. You could side with either. Fallout: New Vegas offers the same choice with two similar factions. The New California Republic (NCR), good faction, and the Legion, bad faction, are the two factions to side with. The NCR is trying to rebuild society to get it going. The Legion is trying to take over and form a new type of government all over the wasteland.

What to do?

There is a lot to choose from in Fallout: New Vegas when it comes to gameplay. First of all there is quests. Main quests are the important ones to complete before the game ends. Side quests are for gaining types of karma, getting money, or other weapons and armor. There is tons to do other than quests. You can adventure the Mojave finding items or meeting new people. Sometimes this is a good thing because you can meet useful people and find expensive items. You can also gamble in New Vegas, but we will save those details for later.

The Mojave...Have I been here before?

The Mojave setting was a great choice, especially with the adding of Vegas activity. However, anyone who has played Fallout 3 has played parts of New Vegas already. Once you get away from New Vegas, you can see that the Mojave Wasteland is similar to Fallout 3's Wasteland. I understand that the developers couldn't do much to make two nuclear wastelands look different, but it was disappointing anyway as you felt like you have been there before. Besides the setting, there are plenty of weapons and gameplay aspects that are also similar to Fallout 3. There are still S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes, perks, same weapons (hunting rifle, plasma rifle, etc), V.A.T.S., and Vaults that are similar to Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas is its own game, but playing through felt somewhat like a repeat.

Let's Get Ready To Rumble!
There are a few different combat techniques in Fallout: New Vegas. Some aspects are in Fallout 3 as well, but some aspects are entirely new. First of all (as I mentioned earlier), V.A.T.S. has returned. V.A.T.S. is an advanced targeting system where you will zoom in on enemies and aim your weapon at a specific body part of your enemy. V.A.T.S. also gives you what chances you have of hitting your target. It's quite a useful tool. As in Fallout 3, you can choose to play in third-person, but most players stay away from third-person as it doesn't work well with aiming. In the first-person view, you can now aim down your weapons' sights, but in Fallout 3 you could not. If you like Fallout 3's style better you can change your settings in the menu. Overall the combat is the same as Fallout 3 with a few good touches.

The Wrap
Fallout fans will feel at home with Fallout: New Vegas. I would turn the other way if you were disappointed with Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas introduces some fun aspects, like gambling, and makes the experience more memorable. I would recommend this to any Fallout fan, or anyone who has not picked up a Fallout game. I will guarantee that you will get a great Wasteland experience from Fallout: New Vegas.

FalloutL: New Vegas Ratings

Plot

8

A fun experience through the Mojave seeking answers proves to be intriquing. The game can be slow at times.

Gameplay

10

There is tons to do. You can do quests, help or betray citizens, and maybe spend some money on the Vegas Strip.

Graphics

7.5
<><><> </></></></></> </></></>
The graphics were not bad, but they didn't improve from the previous game in the series. Some aspects are touched up.
</></></></></>

<><><> </></></></></> </></></>
Controls
<><><> </></></></></> </></></>
10

The layout didn’t have much frustration, and hot key settings help switing weapons fast and easy. They are similar to most first-person shooters.
</></></></></>

Replay Value

9.5
</></></></></>
There are a lot of endings to this game, so playing through more than once would make sense to anyone interested. Each time you play through you get to experience new things.
</></></></></>

<><><> </></></></></></></></>

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Beta Preview

Demo Info

Some of the playable characters in the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Beta

Become an assassin in this PS3 exclusive Beta.

The Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Beta has finally launched for PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you have a subscription I recommend you go and download the beta now. I mainly want this to be a little preview to those who have not, or can't, play the beta.

What can you do?
Everyone knows that betas are limited, and this is no exception. The beta allows you to play in one game mode and a couple of maps. The most popular map, and the one I will be referring to, is Castel Gandolfo. The game mode that you play is called "Wanted". In this mode you are placed in a map with other players. You have one "target" at a time, and it's another player. You must find the player and kill him. There are also many bots walking around in similar skins, so you can accidentally kill a civilian and lose your target. The higher the score is, the more pursuers you can have at once. You can have up to four pursuers. The Beta's max for ranking up is 20, but there are other levels that are faded which hints that the full game will have more.

How is the beta?
Personally, I like it. It gets a little repetitive, but that will probably go away in the full game as there will be other maps and modes. Playing around and trying to find complex ways to take down your targets is fun, but challenging. Everyone has the same advantages and disadvantages which makes the game balanced. It's definitely worth checking out if you have PlayStation Plus. If you don't know if PlayStation Plus is right for you, read this article on PlayStation Plus.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood shows that it will have a fun and challenging online portion. The beta may be limited, but it shows of the game well. If anyone was interested in the game, this is a good extra to remember when making a buying decision.

DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue Review

Quick Info:

Overall Rating: 8.5

Hero to the downtrodden...

Anyone who has read my review of the first DeathSpank game knows that I really enjoy these games. DeathSpank never fails to deliver hilarious quests and off the wall speeches. If you have not played the first DeathSpank game then I recommend that you do so before playing DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue as it's the second of the series. Just a reminder: DeathSpank is the main character of the game. This is a role-playing game (RPG)...

Did somebody say "Thongs"?
DeathSpank is all about the thongs. The Thongs of Virtue to be exact. A master craftsman made 6 powerful thongs. Each of them corrupt their wearers over time. The only one not corrupted by the powerful thongs was DeathSpank, and he wears the Thong of Justice. In the first game you get a thong from Lord Von Prong, and now you are out to get the rest. The story starts in a POW camp, but of course, DeathSpank breaks out. From there it's a long tale of gathering thongs.

What do you do?
If you have played the first DeathSpank then you can expect to do similar types of activities in this game. However, not everyone has played the first DeathSpank. You have side quests and main quests; quests take up 90% of the game. All your quests are logged in your menu and can be looked at any time you wish. The only other thing you will find yourself doing in the game is killing monsters for money, XP, or just for fun.

DeathSpank fights off giant ants

What's the difference?
DeathSpank and DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue are very similar, but the developers did add some aspects to the game that made them different. Some of the differences are guns, more ranged weapons, sailing, and 25 levels compared to 20. The major difference is the addition to ranged weapons though. You will notice right away that ranged weapons actually serve a purpose in this game compared to the first. There are flamethrowers, bazookas, machine guns, shotguns, and even ray guns. Sailing is a small part of the story, but there are several islands to sail to which gives the game a change of pace. Other than that, there really is no difference between the games gameplay wise.

No hero is perfect
The flaws of the game are obvious one, but there are few. First of all, the combat system is repetitive, but less than the first. You can only really hack and slash your way through enemies with the exception of ranged weapons. Some weapons have a specials like stunning or hitting multiple enemies at once. The other flaw is the money system. I see all these food stands, potion stands, and other merchants. I never need to buy anything though. By the end of the game I had over $2,000,000. Not only do you not spend money, but you get it very easily by quests and killing monsters.

A third game?
Yes, there will be another game in the DeathSpank series according to the end of Thongs of Virtue. All I am going to reveal is that it hinted that it will be the story of the beginning of the whole mess of events happening in both games.

The Wrap
Fans of the first DeathSpank game will feel at home with this second installment. This action RPG is just as funny and action packed as the first. I do apologize for the short review, but if you played the first game and liked it then you will like this too. If you have not played the first game then you should not buy this one yet. I highly recommend this tale of the hero known as DeathSpank going through blood, steel, and bacon.

</></></></>
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue Scores
</></><><><> </></> </></></>

</></>

</></></></>

<><><> </></></></> </></></>

</></>
Plot
</></>
9
</></>
The game has a funny and interesting story
</></>

</></>

</></>
Graphics
</></>
10
</></>
Any game with a mixture of 2D and 3D is unique
</></></></>

</></>

</></>
Controls
</></>
10
</></></></>
The layout was done well with no frustration
</></>

</></>

</></>
Replay Value
</></><><><> </></> </></></>
3
</></><><><> </></> </></></>
Once you are done with the game you probably won't play it again
</></>

2. Kratos From God of War Trilogy

How can you not like demi-god who runs around killing everything he sees until it's a puddle of blood. We have seen Kratos take down waves of enemies, great Greek gods, and the most powerful god of them all, Zeus. Kratos is easily the most gruesome hero the Playstation world has ever seen. If you have not played the God of War games, they are highly recommended. The first two, originally only on PS2, have been remade on the PS3, and the third is of course on the PS3 as well.

1. Solid Snake From the Metal Gear Solid Franchise
Coming in as the most incredible hero of the Playstation world is Solid Snake. Solid Snake has appeared in more than 6 Metal Gear games, and there are still more to come. Solid Snake originally appeared on a computer game in 1987 called Metal Gear. The Metal Gear franchise has featured some of our favorite characters and moments since Metal Gear Solid in 1998. Metal Gear Solid was the first game in the franchise to feature actual voice-overs for characters in the game. Solid Snake will always live on to be the most incredible hero of the Playstation world, and in the most incredible game series the industry has ever seen.

Sports Champions Is No Loser...

For quite a while now, Sports Champions has grown with anticipation along with the Playstation Move. Now that it's out, and I got some game-play on it I feel that it deserves a proper review. Keep in mind that this game is only compatible with the Playstation Move remote.

What To Choose

Sports Champions comes packed with six sports to choose from. They are: Disc Golf, Beach Volleyball, Archery, Table Tennis, Gladiator Dueling, and Bocce. This sports game features some unique choices that I haven't seen in a game like this. For example, Disc Golf and Bocce were odd choices. Everyone likes something different, and if one sport doesn't catch your fancy then move on to the next one.

Disc Golf
First, let's talk about Disc Golf in Sports Champions. At first I was skeptical, but now I am really liking this sport. Think golf with a Frisbee, and instead of a hole in the ground you have a basket. The score system is like golf, and there are also pars, birdies, and bogies. You can have up to 4 players also, so this is great for party fun. Disc Golf doesn't sound all that exciting, but give it a try and you might get hooked. Only one remote allowed.

Gladiator Duels
This was my most anticipated sport of the game. You are in an arena with one opponent at a time, and fight to the death. You can win by defeating your opponent in two rounds (best 2 out of 3), or you can ring the opponent out by knocking them off the edge. This game allowes you to use two Move remotes if you like, but it's not required. One is used for the shield while the other is for the sword. If you only have one Move remote then the trigger (T button) will let you toggle between the shield and sword.

Archery
This was another highly anticipated sport for me. With two players at a time you duel by hitting a variety of targets including: pots, fruit, and regular targets. There are also different game modes like archery tic-tac-toe and other fun challenges. If you have two Move remotes then you will feel like you are actually holding the bow and arrow. One remote is used to aim, and the other is used to for grabbing and letting go of arrows. If you only have one Move remote then you grab your arrow, then aim with the same remote.

Bocce
First I want to explain the game for those who don't know what it is. The game starts with someone throwing a small ball, called a pallino. The object of the game is to get your bocce balls (you have 4) as close to the pallino as possible. You are allowed to hit the pallino or your opponents bocce balls if you wish. This is another game that sounds boring, but is a lot more fun when you actually play it. You only use one Move remote for this game.

Beach Volleyball
Very simple if you have ever played volleyball. It's always two on two. You use the Move remotes to set, bump, and set the volleyball with you partner until you win. You can use one or two Move remotes. Two allows you to feel like you are setting the ball and bumping the ball properly. With one remote you do the same exact actions, but you only do it with one hand.

Table Tennis
Table tennis is also ping-pong if you didn't know. Each player wields a small paddle and you smack the small ball back and forth keeping it on the table and get points when your opponent misses or messes up. This is by far my favorite sport of the game. You only need one remote to play and there can be two players at a time.

Modes
In each sport there are three modes. Champion Cup, Challenge, and Multiplayer. Champion Cup offers a bronze, silver, and gold cup mode. You play against all the other players in the game in each cup and they get harder as you go on. Challenge mode is unique to all the sports. In the middle of one of the cups you will experience a challenge stage. This challenge stage is the same as challenge mode except you have 3 stages of it. Multiplayer is playing with more than yourself in a sport. Sadly there is no online play.

Become A Champion
I highly recommend Sports Champions. All you need is a disc, PS Eye, and one Move remote. You can read the Playstation Move Buyers Guide for more options. With six sports to choose from, this game is worth it even if you like two or three. For example, I like Table Tennis, Disc Golf, and Gladiator dueling. I am not the biggest fan of Beach Volleyball, or Bocce. Either way the game is a lot of fun. Go pick up your copy today for $39.99 USD.

</></>
Sports Champions Scores
</></>

</></>

</></>

</></>

</></>
Plot
<><><> </></> </></></>
N/A
<><><> </></> </></></>
The game features no plot. However, this will not effect the scoring for obvious reasons.
</></>

<><><> </></> </></></>

</></>
Graphics
</></>
7.5
</></>
Just like any family game, but not too bad.
<><><> </></></></></>

</></>

</></>
Controls
</></>
9.5
</></>
The Move proves it’s worthy for this game.
</></>

</></>

</></>
Replay Value
</></>
10
</></>
You can play this solo, or with friends. It won’t get old!
</></>

</></>

The PS3 Playstation Move Bundle

The Playstation Move just launched, September 17, 2010. From having some time to look over products and bundles I have decided to post this little buyers guide for anyone interested in the Playstation Move.

The Minimum
To use the Playstation Move you will need:

One (1) Move Remote

The PS Eye Camera

A TV

And a Playstation 3 system

A game wouldn't hurt

The PS Eye has been out for quite some time. If you alrea
dy have it, and you don't want Sports Champions, then you might want to get the Move remote separate for only $49.99 USD.

I Got My PS3...Now What?
If you already have a PS3, but none of the Move accessories, then you might want to consider the Sports Champions Bundle. It's only $99.99 USD. It gives you everything you need to get started (everything in the Minimum section). You also save about $30 with this deal (compared to buying everything separate).

I Got Notta...

If you have no Move remotes, PS Eye, or PS3 system, there is still a great bundle out there made just for you. You can get a 320GB PS3, and all the Minimum requirements for the PS Move. This deal also saves you money. It's the best deal if you do not have a PS3 system yet.

Options
There are tons of options within what to buy, and how much. Some games can use two (2) Move remotes, but all games (so far) can be used with only one. For example, Sports Champions offers gladiator fights along with archery. They both can use two (2) move remotes, but one (1) still works and is still enjoyable.
Then there is the navigation remote. The navigation remote is 100% optional as long as you have a PS3 controller. You can hold the PS3 controller in your left hand and use it as a navigation remote. All the buttons, the trigger, and the analog stick are available to you. The navigation remote costs $29.99 USD, but why buy one while you have your normal remote.

With all this in mind, choose wisely. The Playstation Move is one great thing, and should not be passed up.

3D Is Confirmed As Optional

From talking to friends I know personally, people online, and reading other websites, I see that people are scared that 3D Televisions are going to be made mandatory for PS3 use. People are also worried that they are going to miss out on some of their favorite up coming titles because 3D is mandatory.
Good News: Those rumors are FALSE. I figured because everyone was too lazy to ask Sony's very reliable support through email. Honestly, they answer every question I throw at them, which is a lot. This was no exception as I got a detailed response. Let's look at the Playstation Consumer Services reply. For privacy reasons I am not going to post the email word for word, and I will not include the name of the replier.

"Thank you for writing to ask about your concerns for 3D being required to play some games. At this time the option for 3D is only a possibility for the games that have it available, not required. There are also many Users who still use standard HD televisions and non HD displays as well. It would not be fair if everyone is not able to enjoy the same game regardless of their TV's definition."
The good thing is that they thought of the people that don't have 3D or even HD televisions. It shows that they care about their customers. However, this could change in the future, especially if a new console arrives. So don't worry you butts about not playing your PS3 because you don't have a 3D display. It will take a while before they make any major decision like that.

Playstation Move Demo Disc Demos Revealed

A couple days ago, Playstation said that they were including a demo disc with 11 demos with the Playstation Move Bundles. Finally, the list of demos has been revealed along with a video showing them off. All this was discovered at this Playstation Blog post.
To be perfectly honest, this new game is looking better and better the more and more they reveal. I can't wait to play the crap out of it. Medal of Honor hits stores October 12th, 2010. PS3 users will get the limited edition which features a PS3 version of the hit PS2 game Medal of Honor Frontline.

Zen Pinball
This game, Zen Pinball, will be a free download for Playstation Plus users. Dive into tons of levels to relive the pinball craze from long ago, but now in digital form. The game is also packed with several multiplayer options to let everyone get in on the fun.

Swords and Soldiers
Early access demos are one of my favorite things about Playstation Plus. We get yet another one come September 21, 2010. Swords and Soldiers is a strategy based side-scrolling game. Play several game modes as you command armies like Vikings and Aztecs. Oh, I forgot to mention, you get early access to the game if you like the demo.

Half Off
Two games will be 50% off on September 21, 2010. These three games are Cuboid, and Savage Moon. Both games have made a name for themselves and are highly recommended. Especially for the steal of a price.

That is all only some of the content that will be available. There is still free avatars, minis, and PS1 Classics that I didn't mention. This may be one of the most packed updates for Playstation Plus. So, now we wait, and eventually we will enjoy.

Update v3.42 Leaves Users Dissapointed

Yesterday (September 6th, 2010) the v3.42 update became available for users. Most users have noticed that each update recently has offered new features or layout options, which is nice to have. However, this update, v3.42, hasn't brought a lot to the table compared to past updates.

Seen from Playstation's official blog, John Koller (Director, Hardware Marketing) says,

"A minor update to your PS3 system is now available via system software update v3.42 that includes additional security features."
Straight, and to the point. Obviously the purpose is to possibly throw off some of the hacked PS3s out there.

So go update your PS3 and sulk because it won't benefit you in any way.

Playstation Protection For Plus

In May Playstation introduced a way to give some PS3 users their peace of mind by extending users warranty from 1-2 years extra. With Playstation Plus advancing with popularity in the Playstation Store, there is now an offer exclusively for Playstation Plus subscribers.
Rather than paying $59.99 USD for a 2 year extension, it is only $44.99 USD for a 2 year extension.
Many are intrigued by the E3's shown Heroes On The Move. It's a crossover game featuring some of Sony's best heroes from past games. It includes Sly Cooper (and his companions), Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter. No word has been said of any other characters showing up, but Kratos would be nice. This game is only for the Playstation Move.

The game will feature challenges in which you pick any hero to play as. Two challenges have been seen in the Gamescom demo:
"City of Fights" is a challenge that involves collecting energy orbs throughout Paris while fighting off some nasty bad guys.
"Fistful of Crystals" is the other. It takes place in Haven City (from Jak 2). There isn't a real goal in this challenge other than taking down enemies with the weapon known as the Combuster.

Not only will the game feature characters from past games, but locations and enemies are included. In the below trailer you will see places like Paris from Sly Cooper, and Haven City from Jak 2. I recognize other locations, but can't put it with a name at the moment.

So let's take a look at the already announced games that will be coming out this upcoming year.

1. Killzone 3

Killzone three had a great showing at E3 2010 and another great showing at Gamescon. You can view the multiplayer trailer here from Gamescon. The game looks better and better with coming months. I am sad to see no open beta, or at least a demo like they have for Killzone 2. This easily makes the game the most anticipated for Playstation users as it is PS3 only.

A picture of the new Helghast troops

2. Metal Gear Rising

I am sad to say (not that anyone didn't hear) that the new MGS game will not be PS3 exclusive anymore. Rising has been in the dark until the E3 show, and it showed its full potential. Instead of the usual sneaking around, you play with ninja tactics and they will probably be introducing some cool melee combat skills. This is in second place for the most anticipated games for 2011.

Raiden suited up for Rising

3. inFamous 2
In third place we have another PS3 exclusive, a sequel to the first inFamous game. We saw in the first inFamous game a open world with tons of karma choices that affected your character to the end. Sony has said that they are going to have more karma choices than before, and you won't really know the effect of it until afterwords. InFamous 2 comes 07/01/11, however that date might change.

4. Dead Space 2
This is not PS3 exclusive, but there is some PS3 exclusive content that comes with the limited edition for Gamestop pre-order. If you get the limited edition you get a free version of Dead Space Extraction that was originally only on Nintendo Wii. The game had an awesome showing and demo a the E3 this year, and should at least be rented so you can experience the action horror thrill. Dead Space 2 hits stores early at 01/25/11.

5. Twisted Metal
It has been near five years without a new Twisted Metal game, and it is great to see the franchise coming back. I really enjoyed the old Playstation 1 Twisted Metal games so if this is similar, then I should like this one too. The PS3 really needs some combat racing games that are not kart like games, and the PS3 needs some Sweet Tooth. Oh, and it's PS3 exclusive! It hits stores 03/1/11, but that date may change.

Sweet Tooth looking better than ever

6. Dragon Age II
If you have a PS3, and are reading this (that's most of you) than you probably don't want to think about Dragon Age, as Origins was one of the worst RPG experiences on console games. However, the console games are getting a make-over and they promise to fix a lot of aspects that held them back compared the the PC versions. You can read the Playstation Buzz Preview here. Dragon Age has no official release date, and could be pushed back to 2012.

7. Mortal Kombat
Motal Kombat has been a fighter fan's favorite since the early consoles and arcade versions. You will be able to test your might once again 03/01/11, but that date may change. Slowly the roster is being revealed, but you can read the full preview here.

Famous MK Dragon Logo

8. Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
After a decade a new installment of the Marvel and Capcom universes are coming together again. It will be great to see Wolverine fighting Chris Redfield, SSF characters up against Hulk and Iron Man. When games collaborate like this it's hard to not to be impressed by the variety of characters. This will hit stores some time in March of 2011.

9. BulletStorm
BulletStorm is about Grayson Hunt, and his companions, stuck on an abandoned utopia. This leads to flesh eating mutants, and other strange creatures. This game is going to ring the Borderlands/Fallout bell, just without the RPG factors. This will hit stores early in the year in February. I highly suggest trying it when it comes out.

10. Batman Arkham City
If you played the first Batman game, great for you, because I didn't. The new game will come out late next year around October. You can bet on there being more Jokers, Catwomen, and Harley Quinns. There will be a full preview on Playstation Buzz soon.

I really can't wait for the new year. Games I am definitely pre-ordering are KZ3, and Infamous 2. Deadspace 2 I will probably rent for the short story modes. So if you guys have thoughts on my list, or any other game coming out in 2011 (I could not get them all in one top-10) then please comment below.

Killzone 3 - Multiplayer Trailer

We all got a pretty good look at KZ3 from the E3 Expo. You can click here for some of the Killzone 3 single player gameplay.

Every time a game event comes around there are always new videos for us gamers to watch in awe. Gamescom presented this Killzone 3 Multiplayer video this year.

I gurantee there will be more brutal melee attacks, ranks, and rewards in the online play. You will also see the map Corinth Highway, which will be playable online after the release.

Killzone 3 launches March 29, 2011. If you don't buy it, then you obviously don't have a Playstation 3.

New LittleBigPlanet 2 Trailer

If you didn't see the previously posted Adventure Trailer for LittleBigPlanet 2, I highly suggest that you watch it.

Now there is another trailer out for LBP2, and it makes the game harder to wait for.

The trailer really dives deep into how much users will be able to customize their Sackboy (or girl) and levels.

Quick Info
Overall Rating: 8.5

ESRB: Rated T for Teen

Genre: RPG, Action/Adventure

Deathspank. The only hero I know in which I can't describe in one word. He is adventurous, strong, a hero to all, and wears a purple thong. When Deathspank popped up on the Playstation Store, I was a bit skeptical. Especially when I found out that the game was supposed to be 'humorous', because that usually turns me off. However, I played the limited demo for Deathspank and was impressed. Soon en
ough I was going through the Playstation Store to purchase the full game. Deathspank is one funny RPG that will keep you playing for hours.

The Artifact
The plot of Deathspank involves an artifact known as, The Artifact. It has unknown powers, and is hidden in an unknown location. Through the entire game,
you are trying to get your hands on The Artifact. In the first 1-2 hours of play you will retrieve the artifact, but soon have it snatched from some Orque bullies. This le
ads to the rest of the game which you will have to rescue
orphans and gain access to Lord Von Prong's castle. Overall, it's a storyline that will keep you pretty intrigued.

A 3D Hero In A 2D World
You will read this in other reviews, but it's something I have to mention. The graphics in Deathspank are very unique. Deathspank (the character) and others are presented in 3D artwork. However, the scenery and background of everything else is in 2D. This gives Deathspank an original feel that separates in from other games. Not to mention the world of Deathspank is pretty large for a downloadable PSN game.

Got RPG?
If not anything else, Deathspank is a Role-playing Game. The weapon/armor system was done well. You can equip potions and weapons to various buttons (X, Circle, Triangle, Square, and direction buttons). This allows you to have at least 4 weapons available for variety in fighting. It also allows you to have a variety of potions for battle, and there are tons to choose from including speed potions, stealth, critical attack, and element resist potions. The leveling system was also done well, but simple. You level up starting at 1 and can max at 20. Every level you get to pick a 'hero card'. These hero cards allow you to increase block time, melee damage, range damage, and increase movement speed to help you out in quests and adventures. Each level your attributes, like health, will increase automatically rather than choosing them.

Unimportant Things I Need To Do
Side quests are one of my favorite things about the game. By the end I had over 120 quests (side and main) done and still had more to go. The game is just packed with extra content. Side quests help you level up, and give you a large variety of rewards (weapons, potions, and money). If the story doesn't interest you then the side quests will keep you busy as more than 80% of your game time will go towards side quests. Every quest you do will go into a section in your quest log labeled 'Things I Have Done'. You can also use fortune cookies you find on the ground to give you help on quests, side and main.

Nothing Is Perfect
I understand that no game is perfect. However, I need to mention this so RPG fan boys don't get disappointed. This game is not a full blown RPG. It has RPG features, like leveling and getting skills. The game does not focus on character customization. You will not find yourself making hard decisions on Deathspank's character, and any decisions you make doesn't affect the play that much. Also, some quests will drag on while some will require level grinding, but nothing too bad.

DLC/Sequel
I can tell you now that there will either be DLC or a sequel for this adventure RPG. At the very end of the game there is an insane cliffhanger. However, it does not involve the main story, so don't be worried, you are still getting a full game that has a beginning and an end.

The Wrap
Deathspank is one enjoyable experience that should not be passed up. With a $15 price tag you shouldn't expect much, but the game will satisfy. It does have some flaws, but runs smoothly for the most part. Missing out on Deathspank is like missing out on free cake, it's free so it's not so bad if you miss out, but come on...it's cake.

</></></></>
Deathspank Scores
</></></></>

</></></></>
Plot
</></></></>
9
</></></></>
The game has a funny and interesting story
<><><><><> </></></></></></></></></>

<><><><><> </></></></> </></></></></>

<><><><><> </></></></> </></></></></>
Graphics
</></></></>
10
</></></></>
Any game with a mixture of 2D and 3D is unique
</></></></>

</></></></>

</></></></>
Controls
</></></></>
10
</></></></>
The layout was done well with no frustration
<><><><><> </></></></></></></></></>

God of War III

Heavy Rain

LittleBigPlanet 2

Final Fantasy XIII

Call of Duty Black Ops

I know people are probably thinking of Bioshock 2 and Red Dead Redemption, but I am sticking to Playstation platformers for the Game of the Year award. Other awards like PSN Game of the Year will not be Playstation only. Final Fantasy XIII is the only exception as it has always been better for the Playstation.

So just comment below on 1-2 games and please, I want to hear your thoughts as well.

Is Playstation Plus Worth It?

The Subscription of a lifetime...

Playstation Plus launched about a month ago and there has been a lot of talk of its price tag. For a year (and a limited bonus three months) it's $49.99 USD. For 3 months it's $17.99 USD.

So, What's Playstation Plus?

Playstation Plus is a Playstation Store subscription. It gives you limited content available for just the subscribers. We have already seen discounts on popular games, add-ons, themes, and avatars. Not only is some of the content 50% off, but some of it is FREE. Free content includes

various themes, avatars, demos, games, and Sony's interactive news videos: Qore. All of this for one fee at the beginning of the subscription. Just go to the Playstation Store and click the Playstation Plus icon to buy.

Is Playstation Plus Worth It?
The worth of Playstation Plus depends on the individual. If you are one to buy over $50 of content from the Playstation Store a year (at least) then this would probably help you save some money as you use the store a lot. However, if you don't use the store enough to save more than $50, then you might as well not waste your money.

Overall
I recommend Playstation Plus. It's a good tool to help save money as long as you can earn the money back.
