Been Awhile !!!

Well, It's been awhile since I was on here. I've been tied up with the internet setting up a domain of my own. And I setup an account with Twitter. I haven't done much else but set it up. Not much has happened lately that has caught my attention. But I heard they plugged the leak in the oil pipe and then it started leaking somewhere else. So much for British technology !!! I just hope that the damage already caused isn't to devestating. I haven't been following the news that much so I haven't been up to date. I am retired and have been for several years now. You would think I would have all the time in the world but it doesn't seem to work that way. Not much to comment about this time around. So maybe we will have more next time.

Politics - Taxes

I just heard the other day that New York State is going to raise the tax on cigarettes. I know, I know. You would respond. "Well no wonder. Your in New York State !!!" Well, do you know that New York was a good state to live in. Jobs were plentiful and everyone was working. We had good schools, roads and bridges. People had extra money to be able to go out and enjoy themselves and buy things they wanted. People could afford clothes and shoes for their kids and Christmas time was filled with toys on Christmas morning. Sure, we had taxes, but we also had good jobs to pay for those taxes.

NOW !!! All the good jobs have moved out of state to the south, southwest and west for tax incentives. The unyielding politicians here wouldn't give up that tax money to keep the jobs here. They wouldn't allow any tax breaks for the big companies. They all moved out to get better utility prices. We have the electricity being produced right here and natural gas in abundance. and the politicians allowed the utility companies increases for what they charge to the point where the cost is off the chart. So now we have no jobs to speak of, the cost of living is out of this world and couples and married people with kids both have to work at $7.00/hour jobs just to make ends meet. No extra money for anything. And whats worse the politicians can't maintain a proper budget. Instead they squander it and mismanage it and pocket it and allow people who are the "Friends" of the politicians kick backs. I think if they handled the money without corruption and greed there would be more than enough money to run this state.

So now to kick everyone in the teeth who lives here. Albany wants to add on another tax on cigarettes. Would you believe $1.67 a pack !!! Not a carton but a pack. That's $16.70 for every carton bought in this state. On top of all the other taxes they have imposed in the past. I really don't want to know how many cartons of cigarette's are being sold here in a week. This whole thing is insane !!! When does it end ???

I posted a blog last week complaining about the Federal level politicians. Here in New York State we should do the very same thing. Vote out all incumbents !!! Lets start taking our State back !!!

Politics - Incumbants

Well, the last time I talked about Current Events and how the government was not taking action. This time I would like to talk about how we might solve some of this dilemma. The people in this country, It seems to me, have become quite complacent. No one is voting, no one is really taking the issues seriously, and anyone who does vote just pulls down all the handles on the left for the Incumbents. No one seems to take the time to check out what the Incumbents are really doing for us. This, unfortunately has given all of these politicians the opportunity of a lifetime political career. They pretty much know that when they get in office on the Federal level they will retire from that job. And !!! Not have to do much while in that job. Except what they want to do. This has created the "Good Ole Boy" network !!! These politicians get together and decide what they want to do in their jobs and what laws to pass and to basically control the public. Look at some of the screwy laws that have been passed, now and in the past. You say to yourself "What were they thinking about" then move on to the next daily piece of business and don't think any more about it.

This is Not the way to let our politicians run the government and our life's. We can begin to stop this political control and log jam. For the next 10 years just do one thing. Vote out ALL of the Incumbents. It sounds strange but, That's what I said. Vote out ALL of the Incumbents. Lets look for someone with fresh new ideas and someone who is willing to do what the people want and NOT what the politicians want. These people we have in office are supposed to be our Representatives. They are supposed to be doing what the majority wants. So to repair the situation we need to remove all of these people and start with new ones. Another big thing it will do is to send a message to all politicians that if they don't start doing their jobs properly, then they will be Voted out. This would be a great wake up call and the only way we can do it is if everyone does it that way. Vote out ALL Incumbents. Come on America. Stand up and be noticed. Lets send a big message to the government. Start doing your job right or loose it !!!

Just getting started

I have never looked at blogging before and I didn't realize how intense the whole concept was. So it will take me a bit to get my blog setup the way I want it but, with things happening as they are in the world I wanted to get some of my thoughts out there and see what other people thought and to kinda let off a little steam at the same time.

Did you know that we are under a Foreign Attack ??? Well, We are and no one is doing anything about it. The President has The Army, The Navy, The Marines, The Air force and The Coast Guard at his disposal and Nothing is being done !!! If he needs Machines and Equipment he probably has them. If he doesn't he has the Money to buy them. All he has to do is to give the order and we can stop this Foreign Attack on our American shores. Some of you don't even know what I am talking about. Crude Oil !!! We have a disaster just off our shores in the gulf of Mexico and it is spewing crude oil all over the gulf and it is contaminating our shores and killing our wild life !!! Now, if you don't think that this isn't a foreign attack I don't know what it is !!! I feel that the President and our government has let us down because we do have the ships machines and equipment to stop this invasion. I am tired of hearing about major oil spills and the damage they do and the loss of wild life and property damage they create. I don't care if they don't have a plan to fall back on "In case of a disaster". With all of the MS, BS and PHD degree holders in government and all of the Generals and Admirals we have in the military. I would think that if they all got together and put their minds together, I'll bet they could come up with a plan to do something about this oil spill and they could do it in less that a week. If they had done this when the disaster happened we would have this plan in action and we would not have the contamination damage and wild life death we have now !!! Lets get it in gear Mr. President. Get off of your fat butts and get it done !!!
