Sometimes I think people do things just to mess with you. Some guy was probably sitting next to his window watching people walk by in the alley and scratch their head over this little number.

The sign says, "Danger! Do Not Enter!" and is dated. Wouldn't you agree that it is unusual to date a sign? There doesn't appear to be any actual danger. No holes in the ground. No wires hanging from the building. No dead bodies. No strange odors. So what's all the fuss about?

Remember how I love juxtapositions? And I especially love finding posted signs right next to people ignoring the sign.

Here we have a sign saying please clean up after your dog. Just below the sign is a little green box filled with doggie bags. To the left, a nice, convenient garbage can. And on the ground...

...an array of dog turds not in a doggie bag and not in the garbage can.

So typical!

Trespassers Will Be Persecuted

You know they mean business when they start persecuting people.

I like to make fun of the graffiti artists with poor spelling and grammar but at least they have an excuse: they're high school dropouts.

But this sign? No excuse. Found on the boardwalk in front of a large, well known hotel in South Beach. They pride themselves on being the best of best.

And yet, they paid for this:

Not only did they pay for it, but they posted it. And none of their staff noticed.

Look, I understand. It's easy to forget a letter now and then. You got a lot going on when you're on the city bus. It's not easy to keep one eye on your graffiti and one eye on the passangers.

From time to time you're going to lose your place and forget a letter. Just shove it right back on in there.

If you are looking for the original SobeStreets site, it is no more.

I am moving some content from http://sobestreets.wordpress.com over here to Blogger. The main website http://www.sobestreets.com is down. Perhaps permanently. I cancelled my account with the web host and I haven't decided if I want to put the site up on a new host.

I no longer live in South Beach so there won't be any new pictures of events being posted, although I may put up some galleries of the old parties, especially for you Aqua Girls! I still get more hits for Aqua Girl pictures than for any other subjects combined!

I might still blog about events in South Beach. That always seemed popular with the readers. We'll see...
