Transcription is a service that is necessary to many different fields, such as the medical, legal and business sectors. In the past this has been both time consuming and costly; the equipment involved in analog audio before the digital age was more cumbersome than most people today have to deal with. Add to this the time it took to mail or hand deliver an audio recording to a transcription office and back again and you can see how the delays can pile up quickly. There was a good reason why so many organizations, however reluctantly, set up their own in-house transcription departments.

These days, the power of the internet allows a business to upload all of the work they need transcribed onto a secure server, where a trusted transcription service can access the files, perform the necessary operations, and upload the finished project to the same server – all without the cost of postage or shipping (not to mention the time that is saved.)

TBS Transcription has been providing excellent services to small business owners and individuals for several years, with attention to detail, TBS has built a business based on the highest quality work. TBS prides itself on giving excellent customer service and is one of the many reasons customer's prefer our service. TBS Transcriptions would welcome adding you as one of our valued customers. This just in: I just received this post from one of my FB Friends Ellen Whitehurst and wanted to share her post here for those who may be interested in Feng Shui:
So here goes: Great Photo of a Peacock also...one of my favorite birds of all time.

I’ve always known that Feng Shui says that spotting a cardinal hanging around means good news to anyone in the communications field especially to writers et al. ANY red bird means big business and good luck. A single black bird, like the old crow that sits atop the wire outside my office window chattering all the day long (no doubt about some of those Bravo housewives…because birds of a feather…oooopsies, never mind), well, lone black birds bring messages. Spotting a pair of birds means love is winging its way to you while a family of birds, like the kind my friend and former editor Tara has in her front porch light right now could mean a new addition to the family or a family reunion. Based on her level of energy chasing after her 2 and 4 1/2 year old, pretty sure that better mean a freakin’ family reunion or those birds are, well, never mind.

And, of course when birds are singing it is a happy sign. White birds mean healing especially if someone is gravely ill while a bird with red markings means some sort of honor coming to you. Yellow birds mean sudden wealth or a fab event coming up while blue birds mean….oh, c’mon you know what bluebirds mean right? But did you know they also mean a promotion at work?

Eagles bring good fortune while owls hoot and holler preparing the way for a great teacher coming into you life. So you see, birds are powerful symbols of great opportunities and promise protection, prosperity, transformation, luck. Imagine if you had an image of 100 of them all in one place that you could put in your FAME area. Imagine how that might help to move all your energies along starting on April 20! Imagine how much you would love someone who provided you that image and told you to put it in your FAME area before April 20. Just imagine. Uh huh. And buh bye Kendra. But, sista, I know how you feel…I don’t have any f*&kin’ problem with elegance either….couldn’t have said it better myself! Then again, besides picking UCONN I haven’t been batting the best average with these reality competitions, so, don’t go by me. Okay, down load the image at the top of this post and get ready, once Mercury comes out of retrograde, to spread your wings and FLY!

No matter the size or type of your business, having a professional website that effectively conveys to your target market who you are, what you do and how they would benefit from working with you or buying your products, will undoubtedly be an added value for your business. The following article highlights the top 3 advantages you'll gain from taking your business online.

Overcome Your Business Rivals

The business arena is like a jungle. It's a place where fierce competition is at its peak and where the tougher and faster rip the weaker and smaller. On which side would you likely want to be? Increasing your online branding before your competitors, through a professional website and a good internet marketing strategy will make you move forward in big steps towards eminent success, increase the potential of your business, and turn your website into a 24/7 money maker machine. if you're on the opposite side, and your business rivals are the ones with a tough online presence, attracting your prospective customers and increasing the branding of their product or service, then it's time to make a new shift in your marketing strategies before your business becomes history.

Measure Your Revenue

One of the main benefit of switching your promotional activities online is that you can track your cost per lead and your ROI with tools such as SEO software. furthermore, since online marketing activities are not expensive compared to other traditional advertising means, you'll have the opportunity to diversify your internet marketing strategies for an increased profit. No matter what the internet marketing activities you decided to implement, with very basic formulas you can always track you cost per lead, and therefore easily evaluate the one that gave you better results.

Target your niche

Prominent entrepreneurs are the ones who know how to spot their perfect niche and tailor their marketing activities towards that niche. The world wide web is the ideal place to center your marketing activities towards your potential customers instead of wasting valuable time and resources on a dispersed market that will get you back zero profit and zero income. However, when you center your online marketing activities towards your target market, you'll be able to increase your conversion rate, position yourself as leader in your field and most importantly interact with your potential customer and in result get to know their wants and need and expand your business accordingly.

Statistics reveal that successful and prominent businesses are the ones who have taken full advantage of the wealth of benefits internet marketing provides. What are you still waiting for?

------------------------

Unfortunately many business owners still end up with a website that costs them too much money and doesn't generate them any business. If you want to make sure you're implementing the right strategy, download the free internet marketing whitepaper from online marketing Sydney. It shows you how to get more leads, more customers and more profits with the right internet marketing strategy at http://www.eminentonlinemarketing.com.au

Getting Transcription Work Without Certification

Transcription Work without Certification

Many who would like to work at home are
discouraged by medical transcription work because
most companies require a certification from an
accredited school. If you don't have the time
and resources to take such a course, you can
apply for general transcription work instead.

You can work and earn good money with
transcription work even without a transcription
certification. The kind of transcription work you
will do will be slightly different and the topics
vary, but you may discover that general
transcription is far easier to get into than
medical transcription.

Working as a medical transcriptionist has its own
rewards but requires extensive training. Medical
institutions simply want to make sure that they
are hiring the most qualified individuals. This
might be a reasonable requirement, but that
leaves out people who are just as skilled but
don't have a certification. Some individuals
simply don't have the time or money to enroll
themselves in certified medical transcription
schools. And the required transcription
certification prevents them from gaining
legitimate transcription jobs as a result.

Aside from the certification requirement and the
industry you'll work for, you'll discover
that there are only a few differences between the
work of medical and general transcriptionists.
When applying for a general transcription jobs,
you will find out that general transcription
companies are less strict about training
requirements.

Medical transcriptionists require specialized
training and medical terminology training before
applying. If you are going to work in the general
transcription field instead, you can simply
practice with the help of transcription practice
files because you will often be hired based on
the results of a transcription test.
What exactly do you need to become a general
transcriptionist?

For one thing, the quality of your work should be
excellent. The more accurate you transcribe, the
higher your pay may get. Some transcriptionists
have even claimed that their pay rates have been
increased only after a few months of good
performance. Companies demand error-free
transcripts as much as possible. The expected
accuracy rate in transcription is above 98%. This
means that you can not make more than two errors
per 100 words.

If you are working as a freelance
transcriptionist, you have to be a tough boss to
yourself. The faster and more accurate your
transcription is, the more jobs and better pay
you'll be able to get.

You can easily build a reputation for yourself
even if you have no certifications to show. If
you would like to thrive in a general
transcription career, practice first and then
apply for work with transcription companies. This
will give you a chance to gain plenty of
experience. You can install free transcription
software to practice to become a fast, competent
and accurate transcriptionist even without formal
training.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt says that public figures of the future will have to contend with their own Facebook party photos. Should we expect name changes en masse as a solution? "Thanks to the global popularity of social networking—an estimated 600 million people have personal online profiles—friends, prospective employers and enemies alike are able to access photographs, videos and blogs that we may have long forgotten with a few simple clicks of a mouse. Recently one columnist in The New York Times went so far as to describe our current world as an age defined by 'the impossibility of erasing your posted past and moving on'. Many websites yesterday picked up on the apparent disconnect between Mr Schmidt's comments and his company's ethos."

What Your Business Must Do To Stay In Business

"Does Your Business Do This?"

By The Business Stylist Debbie LaChusa,

As I look around, our world is overflowing with people launching into their own businesses. They’re all chasing the dream of being their own boss, making a living doing what they’re passionate about, being free of the chains of a job, being in control of their own future, having more time freedom and flexibility to live their life the way they want, spend more time with their families and “have it all.”

I firmly believe the vast majority of these people get into business with the best of intentions. And I also believe most of them are good at what they do and have the ability to help a lot people with their products and services.

Problem is, it takes more than a dream, good intentions, and following your passion to succeed in your own business. There’s a reason the new business failure rate is clocked at 90+% in the first few years.

There’s actually a pretty simple reason the failure rate is so high.

It’s because these businesses don’t do what a business must do in order to succeed.

What is it that your business must do? Well, one of two things:

(1) It must fill an unmet need

OR

(2) It must provide an opportunity for people to solve a problem they’re frustrated by, or to get something they really want, in a way that is not currently available.

That means you must provide a unique benefit to a specific audience. Your audience must be highly motivated – they must really want the solution you can provide. And you must be able to present it to them in such a way that they absolutely believe they will get what they want when they buy from you.

The bottom-line is you must have a business and a message that are compelling.

Because here’s a clue: If it’s not selling … it’s not compelling.

You may not like the results you’re getting, but your results do not lie. They are an exact reflection of how well you are communicating your ability to solve your ideal client’s problem. Your results are NOT a reflection of whether or not your product or service is any good. They’re just a reflection of your audience’s ability to see how that product or service can change their life.

It’s pretty simple actually.

If they think it will help them get what they want, and the value they place on what they want is greater than the cost to buy, they’ll buy.

If they question whether it will get them what they want, or the value they place on what they want is NOT greater than the cost to buy, they will NOT buy.

I’d like to leave you with a thought to consider, because it will determine whether or not you’ll be able to successfully build this business you’ve set out to create, AND whether or not you’ll actually be able to help all those people you dream about helping…

People do not care about what you do.

They care about ONE thing and one thing only, and that is what you can do FOR them.

It’s a subtle difference but it’s oh, so important.
Hope you enjoy and are inspired to incorporate them into your business.

Twitter and Marketing Your Small Business - The Basics
By Payson Cooper

For small business owners and solo entrepreneurs trying to get products and services out to the public, exposure can seem like an uphill battle. Just like multi-billion dollar corporations, small-sized businesses must invest in some type of marketing to bring in the clientele. If anything, the smaller the business, the more one must rely on marketing. Businesses that are known worldwide and have years, if not decades of exposure to the public, have an advantage. The good thing is that marketing doesn't have to be expensive; in fact sometimes the best marketing doesn't have to cost anything...all you need is a well thought out plan and the time to carry it out. One such arena where business owners can privilege from cost-free marketing and advertising is the social media website Twitter. Smart business owners are taking advantage of all the benefits that come with Twitter and marketing.

Twitter and marketing isn't a new concept. As soon as Twitter came onto the scene in 2006, business owners immediately tapped into multiple niche markets with amazing results. Twitter is a form of micro-blogging, where you have a short 140 characters to share your ideas, thoughts, information and products/services with the Twitterverse.

The premise is simple enough: create an account, broadcast what you have to offer to the world, and watch as your customer base increases. Of course this sounds simple and it is; yet to be effective in any area regarding business there are dos and don'ts. Armed with the right plan and some persistence you too can be an expert in the realm of Twitter and marketing your business.

The first few steps you need to take:

1. Person or Brand: When you set up your account, decide if you want to be the 'personality' or if you will Tweet as your brand. I recommend either considering both, or using yourself as a 'personality' unless you are an established brand. Look at a few examples of companies that are successfully using twitter - often they are present as a 'brand' name, but then, the people behind the brand are also there as individuals. Social media is about relationships - so often, the most successful accounts are the ones used and run by real people, not 'brands'.

2. Be sure to fill out your profile completely: Consider using a good, professional photo of yourself or someone who is the face of your brand, not your logo. While logos can work for businesses that are well- known, people respond to people, so a smiling face will often help you build your account more effectively. (Recently conducted research indicated that the most frequent reason people sighted for 'following' or 'friending' someone on social media like Twitter was a 'friendly smile' in the profile picture.

3. Take time to write a good Bio: You only get 160 characters, so you much use them wisely - be personable, share something about yourself and what you love about what you do. Be 100% certain to fill out the field with the link to your website - it's amazing how many people miss this simple step, and miss out on not only a link-back from one of the single highest ranked websites in the world, but they also miss out on anyone who clicks through to their bio and then wants to know more.

4. Set up a plan: Without an appropriate plan, Twitter and marketing your small business can become a serious black hole of wasted time. You need to formulate a goal and then determine how you will achieve that goal on Twitter. Decide how much time you want to spend learning how to use Twitter most effectively and then how much time you will spend each day and schedule it into your calendar. Don't let it become a distraction or a place where you aimlessly spend time.

5. Share, Support and Serve: Take the time to share relevant information related to your industry in a way that will serve your followers. Support fellow Tweeters by retweeting often, and the favor will be returned. Interact, answer questions, always thank people who re-tweet your tweets and be courteous. Tweets on Twitter are indexed and returned on relevant searches in Google - they are 'forever' in the online world, so keep it smart.

Once you become comfortable with Twitter and see your followers list growing, you can also start to intermix information about your products and services. Don't be afraid to make offers that will serve your follower base, or to share offers from people who compliment what you have to offer. Remember, always serve your followers - think about what will help and support them, and they will read your tweets, follow what you do and begin to move from prospect to customer.

With twitter and marketing, there is a form of etiquette that one must follow if they wish to be successful. Be sure to engage with your followers, offer relevant resources and answer any questions they may ask, then it will be a natural progression for you to link to your sales, promotions, events or any other form of "call to action" marketing.

Here are 8 Keys to Creating a Powerful Resume

1. Instead of an “Objective,” create a “Summary Paragraph” which is:
* The single most effective tool for creating the perception of “who you are” and your future career growth.
* An overview of your career history, which highlights your Qualifications, Specialties, Areas of Expertise, and Professional Strengths.
* Frames past experience with a focus on your future direction.

2. Tailor your resume toward each position:
* Ask for a job description to get critical information regarding qualifications, experience and attributes that a company is seeking.
* Highlight personal and professional brand by identifying unique qualities, marketable skills and institutional knowledge to capture the attention of employers.

2. Use your target company’s keywords and phrases in your resume:

o Highlight your experience with company and industry keywords and phrases on your resume, so you will appear to be a “fit” with the organization.

3. Create bullet points (that take the place of paragraphs) that start with action verbs:
* Transform responsibilities and actions into powerful results and crowning achievements.
* Paragraphs can be hard to decipher, while bullets are more reader-friendly.
* Prioritize your accomplishments and achievements according to what the company would be most interested in.

4. Create your resume as if it were a marketing and sales document:
* Remember, the resume is a sales tool, and you are the “product.”
* What are the specific benefits of your being hired?
* Remember the “WIIFM?” What’s in it for them?

5. Show that you are a problem-solver:
* Bring out positive results and the outcome of your work and how you have contributed to solving a company’s problems and challenges.

6. Quantify accomplishments on your resume:
* Use numbers, percentages & dollars everywhere you can, not just in the result, as it brings attention to the point you are trying to make.

7. Include Professional & Community Affiliations:

o Add specific leadership roles, committee memberships and volunteer activities.
o However, don’t overdo it, as the company may wonder if you have time to do your work!

8. Never state a salary requirement in your resume:
* This can be a turn-off and also eliminate you from being considered, as it may be out of the company’s range, being either too high or too low.

Post from Michael Nair, of Legitimate Internet Business. Here he gives Tips on becoming a successful affiliate marketer from your home business. Today he brings us 8 Benefits of Working your Affiliate Marketing Program from home.

One of the easiest ways to stay at home and work is to become an affiliate marketer. This is easy to get started in and that is why many people choose affiliate marketing.

Let's talk about a few of the benefits of working from home as an affiliate marketer to see if this would be a good option for you.

1. We mentioned it is easy to get started and that is the first benefit we want to point out. It does not cost any money to become an affiliate marketer and you can join programs in just about any niche online today.

2. Affiliate marketers are given their own website to promote by the affiliate merchant. This means you do not have to build a website of your own if you do not want to.

3. You make money whenever a website visitor purchases a product or completes an action on your affiliate website. This means you do not need any products of your own to get started and that certainly is a big benefit.

4. You can promote products in more than one niche to increase your income. For example you could promote car parts and make money selling those.

You could get leads for real estate company earned earn money every time some of the fills out a form. You can even get paid by the click with affiliate programs such as Google Ad sense or 7search.

5. You never handle the products and the affiliate merchant does all shipping if you are selling products. If you are selling Internet based products such as information products with instant downloads again there is no shipping involved.

6. The affiliate merchant collects the money on any sales you make. You are paid a commission based on the agreement you have with the affiliate merchant. Some affiliate programs are now offering instant commissions or paying their affiliates very quickly on a weekly or bi-monthly basis.

7. You can join two-tier affiliate programs and make money whenever an affiliate underneath you makes the sale. If you enjoy working with people this is an excellent benefit to have fun and get paid for it.

8. You can start your own affiliate program and make money on the sales of others. You can even join affiliate networks such as Clickbank or Commission Junction and let them handle the program for you.

In summary this is 8 benefits of working from home online as an affiliate marketer. Because there are so many benefits thousands of people have become affiliate marketers and are making anywhere from a few dollars a month to seven figure incomes online.
I did some research and found that even though there are a lot of websites for general transcriptionists and a few ebooks and such out there, I've never heard anyone actually answer the question of what a general transcription is, how it works and most often of all, "Can I do this for a living?" I have posted my take on each term below.

General transcription is just what it's called, general. The material you transcribe can come from almost anywhere or anyone, although most general transcription generally will fit into some main categories or types.

Because it is general and most often comes from various types of businesses-corporations in any industry, consultants, education, etc., most people can start a new career in this field rather quickly and it's considered one of the fastest ways to start earning money at home.

Verbatim Transcriptions

A verbatim transcription is a word for word conversion of audio to text. This format includes all sentence fillers and false starts. A verbatim transcription is usually considered when there is an analysis of communication (e.g., Depositions).

Semi-Verbatim Transcriptions

A semi-verbatim transcription is a word for word conversion that eliminates the sentence fillers and false starts. This type of transcription is usually considered when the bottom line of the sentence is required (e.g., Interviews, Focus Groups, etc.)

Summary Transcriptions

A transcription summary is an edited version to present a grammatically correct document. This type of transcript is usually considered when every word is unimportant but the gist of the matter counts (e.g., Meetings, Time Crunches, etc.)
Is your desk covered with projects that are uncomplete....sticky notes stuck to the desk and the monitor of your computer. Pens and pencils with no ink or lead. Memos tapes to your desk or calendar about a meeting or deadline. If this sounds familiar to you, you must reclaim your desk and conquer all the desk demons invading your office desk and space.

Clearing these demons from your desk will create for you a successful surrounding that will have you feeling more focused and motivated.

Try these simple steps and see if you want be on to creating and being more of who you were meant to be.

Clear Your Desk of Everything

Put these things on the floor in neat stacks. Taking everything off the desk gives you the clarity you need to begin and complete this task and also gives you a opportunity to rejuvenate and refresh, thus allowing you to be able to determine what needs to kept or thrown out. By doing this, you are transforming from an old habit of a messy desk and space to a new way of keeping your desk organized.

Also, while we are on the subject...Do You have an Inbox. Well you need to have atleast two on your desk. One for Incoming and One for Outgoing, or as I like to think of it as Outcoming giving the illusion of money coming back into your business. I prefer to keep the outgoing on my right corner and the incoming on my left corner. Decide which side works for you for each box....hey it's your desk so you decide. One you have established a space for your Inbox and Outbox, put a 8X11 tray in each space to hold all incoming correspondences and outgoing mail. Daily check your inbox tray. After reading correspondence, you must take actions to clear this box. Take action immediately, if the correspondence needs you to respond do so. File it, or trash it. Please note, that two folders one Red and one Blue would serve the same purpose. I use folders in a tear file since I have limited desk space.
Also remember that your inbox is not a holding space to keep information indefinitely. It serves as an organizational tool to hold all incoming information until you take care of the task. It is important to make the commitment to check in with your inbox daily, sometimes two or three times daily depending on the amount of information you receive daily.

If you are in a state of disarray and need help with the above task, or have organization ideas you just can't seem to put on paper check out: http://OrganizeYourIdeas.com

The Secret To Successful Affiliate Programs

Everybody tells you having affiliates is one of the best and easiest ways to earn. After all, you don't pay them until they perform right? You don't have to do a thing nor pay a salary. While all that could be true, but what happens if your affiliates are not motivated or don't quite know what to do next? A big percentage of affiliates will sign up for a program they will never or hardly promote. Some will only do it halfway or sign up because you have a product they want to recommend for that one instance only. The job of motivating and educating your affiliates how to make more lies squarely on your shoulders.

Here's the tough part. Affiliate training while it could be easy, still takes time to create. Precious time you are already very short of. If you've ever wished there was some kind of PLR you can plug into your own affiliate center that helps affiliates learn how to do simple stuff like redirects and train them how to use emails, blogs, articles and all the tools you provide, your wish is granted. All Private Label Content offers a PLR bundle that covers 21 topics, written specifically to help affiliate managers educate their affiliates so they can concentrate on creating more exciting tools and promotions.

For More Information go to http://lynettesuggests.com
cleared up while we're on the subject. Many think that outsourcing
involves sending work to people in other countries who work for
lesser money and save cost. That is just one way. That's not what
we're talking about here. There are ways to outsource work to those
who are professionals in their respective fields and will work to
give you above par results - wherever they live.

There are a variety of tasks that you can outsource in your online
business for now start thinking about everything you do in your business. Do
you handle it all yourself? If so, you're working yourself way too
hard. Or as Rich Schefren says "You're working for a lunatic".

Stop spinning your wheels and stop living for your business. If
you're feeling overworked and underpaid, then you need to sit down
with your boss (yourself) and give yourself a good talking to.

Believe it or not, those who do every single thing in their
business are actually stalling their business from growth. It's
time to create a lucrative business without working yourself so
hard. Outsourcing can be very beneficial to your business growth.
Market Your Book or Business?

If you have spent time and money down the drain waiting for "word of mouth" to kick in, or multiple hours at networking meetings, you may want to investigate this number one internet marketing way to market your book or your service. Beginners welcome. And, once you learn the skills, you can delegate it all to your office assistant.
Here's the Top 7 Reasons to Write Articles to Market Your Business:

1. Article Marketing is free.

All you need to do is write a short article from 600-900 words. Then submit your article to top article directories like ezine articles.com and a top blog like hubpages.com Article marketing has changed, but it is still free. Know that people in your area of expertise want free information, and when they see your article posted, and they like it, they will flock to your web site for more. You give freely the article; and from your motivating resource box, your audience will click the link to your web site first for freebies, then for your best product or service sales copy. You’ll get their emails as they opt-in for free information. Then you can keep in touch and promote to them weekly if you choose to.

2. Articles bring you incoming links that boost your search engine placement. This is free traffic-known as viral marketing. It's worked for me the past ten years with over 2,000 incoming links. Depending on Google, this number surges way up and falls back.

3. Articles, like books, show you as the savvy expert in your field. People will trust your book and business because you've given them a sample of you. Like Mrs. Field's cookies-her millions came from samples.

When you submit to EzineArticles, your articles could be seen by the 15,000 an hour visitors there (a million in a month). That’s great exposure! A lot better than your own website. Keep track of the numbers at your own site with Alexa.com. After consistent article marketing, I saw my ranking go from millions to 349,267 US. My goal is under 100,000. These numbers are for small business, a lot different from EA who is #56 and HubPages that is #163 as of this writing. They usually improve each month you are active.

Remember Bill Gates prediction: After 2000, you either take your business online, or you won't have one.

4. You will spend far less time promoting online with articles than traditional ways.

When you spend your time each week writing a short article from 600--900 words (1 hour for each), you can then delegate the submissions to your low-cost office computer assistant. Total time promoting? Less than five hours a week.

This is the best money I invest because after the initial submissions, my assistant's time to submit to ezines is less than 5 minutes per site or blog submission. Since I follow the duplicate articles rule, I only submit one or two times a week to only two websites. Opinions vary on this idea, but I find it works well for me.

5. Submitting articles is 7 times as effective as press releases, book signings and other traditional marketing because after you submit 25 articles or so, your name will be known and you'll attract many more of your targeted audience to your website. This fun and easy approach uses the law of attraction and is simple and subtle, yet powerful.

Just start with one or two articles a week, then create new ones with an angle--another audience perhaps. This outstanding viral marketing technique will bring many new opportunities because the links people click will optimize your site to get way closer to the top of Google pages. Being on page one is what it’s all about because people don’t like to scroll down or over much. They think the top 1-10 on the first page are their best bets when looking for a mentor.

6. You can raise your own ezine subscribers from 10-35 each day when you submit articles to top websites consistently. Each month Google your name to clock your progress. Also, check your increased clients and sales. Remember, when your subscribers opt in, you can reach them weekly with updates, free reports, and individual sales messages for different products.

The beauty of this benefit is that your own ezine and articles work as a team, both catapulting your eventual sales successes. When you put your free offer for your ezine in your resource box that accompanies each article you send out, online lookers become online buyers eventually.

After reading six or seven of your ezines, your targeted audience who came to you through these articles, trusts you more, believes in you, and finally becomes a client or customer.

7. You can market straight from your home or office.

Right now, I'm looking out my office window to trees, birds and sunny skies. Yes, it's San Diego. You too can enjoy this natural marketing more because you don't have to go out to sell or tell. No panty hose, even no shoes if you like. If you are an author you are already a writer, and these articles can come directly from your book chapters. This is easy marketing at its best. Or these articles can come from your blog posts.

With just a little training on how to write these articles fast and powerful, you'll be creating them like you would a new recipe. Your creativity will expand, and you'll feel good that you market the easy, fun way.

Adapt my motto, "If it isn't easy and fun, I just won't do it." Why should book marketing be such a struggle? It's natural to share about our service, but it's easier when we are relaxed in our own setting. Sure, phone conversations and networking are fun, but not nearly as productive for the time and money spent as writing and submitting articles are.
This is actually a great question. And many newcomers are probably asking themselves the same thing. When we first start out, we aren't really thinking in terms of long-term profit and we don't really have the statistics ingrained in our brains. We're just trying to figure out how to make money .. .so building a list might not seem like a top priority.

This article is the first in a series of list building tips. Here I'm going to focus on why everyone (yes, everyone) in business benefits from growing a list.

But first, what is a list anyway? It's basically just a series of people who have (hopefully) given you their contact information. These contacts are considered leads and the quality of these leads can vary greatly. For example, if you have a list of people who have specifically requested that you send them information about a product that you promote or the business you are involved in, that list is extremely targeted and qualified. If you have a list of contacts who are interested in your industry in general but haven't shown any interest in your particular product or business, that too is a fairly targeted list.

You may have a list of people that you have obtained from buying leads or something similar. That would be considered pretty low on the list quality totem pole.

Remember that you might also have several different lists that each represent a certain niche or target market or quality level. You will want to market differently to each of these lists but that is another topic for a future article.

So on to real list Building Tip # 1 Why you should build a list starting now!

1. Increase your earnings, even from the people who don't buy your product. Anyone who has already learned the lesson will gladly tell you. . .not having a list means not earning up to your potential. Look at it this way. You advertise a product for a month and you get a certain amount of sales from this. You won't be able to continue selling to a buyer unless you have their contact details. If you do have the contact details, you can offer these people more similar products, or upgraded products of the ones they have purchased.

Or. . .look at it this way. Someone is interested in your product but they don't purchase it right now. If you can get them on your list, you can send them reminders about this product or others they may be interested. If not. . .oh well, off they go to your competitors.

It's important to point out here that the buyers are the ones who will continue to buy. If you've sold a product to someone, you can be assured that this person is much more likely to buy that same product again or the next product you offer than someone who hasn't bought from you. That's just one more reason to build a list.
