I have had an amazing three years on my blog and would like to thank everyone for visiting my blog. The support I have received has been incredible and to reach over a million views is mind boggling to me. When I first started this blog, I was told that no one would look at it and it was a waste of time. My blog grew and it didn't disappoint for incoming traffic. This is very hard for me to shut it down, but with me going to college and my work load filling up, it just wasn't going to work. I do want to say that this is not the end for me in recruiting and will be around in the recruiting world, but not at Brice's Recruiting. I just want to say thanks to everyone for all they have done for me and my blog and one more thing..."Go Blue"!!!

Are rankings overrated?

Michigan fans have gotten spoiled over the last few years of the amazing recruiting that headman, Brady Hoke has created. Michigan has 21 commits in their 2013 class already before the season even started. That is unheard of and it looks like they will only have 3 or 4 more spots left in this class. Well, Michigan is having their annual summer football camp and usually they offer a good handful of kids there. This year with so limited spots many thought that they wouldn't offer anyone for the 2013 class. That wasn't the case when NC CB Channing Stribling was offered with being a little to no name. Reports have stated that he has had an excellent showing during camp and it eventually lead to an offer. Now it seems like there is an possibility that he could end up becoming an Wolverine. Many would prefer waiting for a bigger name like MD CB Kendall Fuller or FL CB Leon McQuay, but the coaches know better than anyone who they can get, who fits best in their system, and who is the right fit for their team. Stribling is unrated on Rivals and is only a 2 star on Scout, so does that mean he is not a good player or does that mean he is not likely that he will become an All-American in college? Well, based on these results from prospects that were rated low, that is not the case at all.

***UPDATE***
NC CB Channing Stribling will be committing to Michigan, according to this post. That would make him commit #22 and the first player to commit out of North Carolina.

Here is a list of 3 or lower star players that had great careers in college or is having great careers in college now. How many do you rthink we will take this year?
Can you ratein order of liklihood who those commits might be?

Thanks
Roger

Answer: I think we will take 24, which means there is only three spots left. Right now, I only feel like IL WR Laquon Treadwell is the only prospect I feel really good about being in this class.

Question: Good for you on site! I look all over for recruiting news. It's hard to find. What do you think of Deveon Smith? I don't see how you can be the #1 RB in Ohio and be any less than a solid 4 star. Thanks.

Answer: Well, many recruiting sites see OH RB DeVeon Smith differently. In my opinion, I see him being a perfect fit for this offense and being a work-horse back for us. He is so powerful and runs with angry that arm tackles just bounce off him. I really like him in this class and is one of my favorite commits.

Question: Brice,

Who do you see as our last three commits for this class or can you see it going even higher than the expected 24 to like 25-26? I don't know who we would end up losing but I have seen rumors starting that suggest that we may up the number to 25.

Answer: I still feel like IL WR Laquon Treadwell will end up in this class and I could see many others, but for right now he is the only one I feel comfortable to say that with. As for if this class could expand bigger than 24, I could see it possibly hitting 25, but I see it as unlikely currently.

Question: Brice Great job you are doing what is the latest information WR Laquon Treadwell do you think he goes
"BLUE" keep up the good work

Answer: Michigan is still in good position with IL WR Laquon Treadwell and it looks like his decision will come during the season. I think his official visit to Michigan will seal the deal, but we will just have to wait and see.

Question: Do you think the numbers of official visitors will be significantly lower this year than in years past since UM will official its 21 recruits plus LT maybe McQuay, Mathis and a couple others? So will there be fewer officials and will that save a significant amount of money for the program, or does it make no difference?

Answer: Great question and I think you might see less official visitors with the class almost filled up, but I don't think it will be significantly lower. Anything can happen in recruiting and I think you will see a lot of names pop up still. Prospects can become interested quickly, commit out of the blue, decommit, so all I am trying to say is recruit until you got all those Letter of Intents in.

Question: Brice With the Michigan BBQ coming up soon do you see Laquon Treadwell or any other top recruit committing

Answer: I really don't see IL WR Laquon Treadwell committing, but it is possible. I am guessing a lot of commits will be there and might give him a little incentive to go blue.

Questions Wanted

Please remember to send in your Michigan Football Recruiting questions and I will answer them in a new post I have made called "Brice's Recruiting Mailbag". Here is Sypniewski's full profile with an scouting report, video, and more. He is rated by Chris Rubio as the #2 rated long snapper in the nation.

How recruiting looks now- I think most would agree with me that none of us saw this commit coming. Michigan had taken two long snappers in the 2012 class until Michigan State offered one of our walk-on commits in MI LS Taylor Pepper. It didn't take long for him leave us for the Spartans. The staff I know wants competetion at every position and that even means long snapper. Many coaches say special teams win games and you do need a long snapper, but I didn't think it would come on a full scholarship for this class. I still want to say congrats to him because he must of deserved this scholarship or he wouldn't have gotten it in the first place. Well, Michigan will look to take another two or three guys in this class. Positions that you will most likely see get recruited to finish this class will be wide receiver, corner, and running back. Some targets from those positions are IL WR Laquon Treadwell, VA RB Derrick Green, FL CB Leon McQuay, and FL WR Alvin Bailey.

Commit #20 is Henry Poggi

New Commit: Henry Poggi
High School- Gilman HS, in Baltimore, Maryland
Height- 6-4
Weight- 270
Forty Time- 4.7
Position- DT
Offers- Alabama, Aubrun, Florida, Iowa, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, Northwestern, Penn State, Stanford, California, Maryland, Purdue, Boston College, South Florida, North Carolina State, West Virginia, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Missouri

Game Breakdown- Poggi has the size, strength, and the frame to build on for the next level. Just like recent defensive tackle commit, Maurice Hurst JR., Poggi is very versatile and athletic. His agressive mentalitly along with his motor that just seems to never stops makes him a top talent for sure. He is a tough hard nosed kid that fits perfectly what Mattison is trying to develop with his defense and you can see it in how recruiting is going.

How recruiting looks now- With Poggi's commitment, it now brings the commit total to 20. He is the second defensive tackle in this class along with MA DT Maurice Hurst Jr. This shut the door on defensive tackle recruiting and you will now see Michigan's attention shift their recruiting focus to the skilled positions. IL WR Laquon Treadwell and VA RB Derrick Green are two of the primary targets that Michigan will really start to give that extra shot of attention too.

Michigan commit total is up to 19 now!

New Commit: Maurice Hurst Jr.
High School- Xaverian Brothers HS, in Westwood, Massachusetts
Height- 6-2
Weight- 300
Forty Time- 4.9
Position- DT
Offers- Boston College, Michigan State, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Purdue, Temple, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Missouri

Game Breakdown- Hurst is a big boy that isn't someone who will clog up the middle a lot, but will get some pressure to the quarterback with his relentless pursuit to the ball. He is a very athletic player for an defensive tackle and will be very versatile to play a lot of positions on the defensive line. The burst he has off the snap of the ball is excellent with his speed coming up the middle straight at you. He uses his hands to avoid the chop block or can shed the initial block with multiple pass rush moves.

How recruiting looks now- Hurst is commit #19 and is the second defensive linemen commit along with OH DE Taco Charlton. I thought Michigan was going to only take two defensive tackles and with Hurst on board, don't be suprise to now see another one jump on the ship real soon. Tomorrrow, MD DT Henry Poggi is deciding and most think it is between Michigan and Alabama. I like where Michigan stands for Mr. Poggi and it helps that he is deciding soon. It hurt even worse going 0-3 against Ohio State, but it actually was only two losses with the penalty they got handed down to them wiping out all their wins from one season. Well, Brady Hoke was hired and began to work right away. What did he do in his first season as head coach at Michigan? He just went 11-2 with a Ohio State victory to end the streak, winning a BCS bowl game by defeating Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl, and having a top 10 recruiting class. Not to bad if I say so myself. What was Ohio State's counter punch to all of this? Hire Urban Meyer and he instantly made a splash on the recruiting trail by bringing in a top 10 recruiting class as well.

Michigan is still scorching hot on the recruiting trail already having 18 commits in the 2013 class and being the consensus number one class so far. Well, you can expect with having a great class so early that other schools might have the idea of thinking to poach some of their recruits. Well, IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman is verbally committed to Michigan, but Ohio State thought otherwise. He put one picture on Twitter that has sent tons of reactions through the Internet and now national news. Here is what that one picture was right below.

#goblue #beatohio twitter.com/LoganTillman/s…
— Logan Tuley-Tillman (@LoganTillman) May 26, 2012

It didn't take long to hit the national news and today ESPN's Colin Cowherd gave his take on what has all developed.

crazy seeing myself on ESPN around the horn but it is what is & its officially done and over its time to put in work and get better #goblue
— Logan Tuley-Tillman (@LoganTillman) May 30, 2012

Well, not all of Ohio State's fan base took this as whatever, but decided to send some death threats toward his direction and that has caused more chaos to the situation. Some people think it is going too far and people need to move. Fellow 2013 offensive linemen commit, Kyle Bosch made some comments to back up his teammate and made some pretty strong words to say. Some are even trying to turn this around into an humorous situation. This has happened before with current Wolverine, Devin Gardner posting a picture of a burning Ohio State piece of mail online. It will change over time with players being added and dropped. Remember recruiting is a marathon and not a sprint. Tell me what you think.

1. QB: Shane Morris (Michigan Commit)

2. FB/RB: Wyatt Shallman (Michigan Commit)

3. RB: Derrick Green (Green was always a top flight running back prospect and was a Michigan target. The only problem was that Michigan was going after a bigger fish in IL RB Ty Isaac. Well, he choose USC over Michigan leaving Michigan fans pondering on what to do. In my opinion, I think they will look at Green to fill that other running back slot. I think if Michigan can get him on an unofficial for the summer and see if that could lead to an official visit in the fall, then I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan become an major contender. They do have some ground to make up on Green, but will it happen? Time will tell.)

4. RB: DeVeon Smith (Michigan Commit)

5. WR: Jaron Dukes (Michigan Commit)

6. WR: Laquon Treadwell (Just like with Isaac, Michigan was on Treadwell early and has maintain a high level of interest for him. He has already on the campus a few times and has built a relationship with QB commit, Shane Morris. A decision looked like it might be coming soon, but I don't know if that is the case anymore.)

7. WR: Csont'e York (Michigan Commit)

8. TE: Jake Butt (Michigan Commit)

9. TE: Khalid Hill (Michigan Commit)

10. OL: David Dawson (Michigan Commit)

11. OL: Chris Fox (Michigan Commit)

12. OL: Kyle Bosch (Michigan Commit)

13. OL: Logan Tuley-Tillman (Michigan Commit)

14. OL: Patrick Kugler (Michigan Commit)

15. DT: Henry Poggi (Poggi is one the most talented defensive tackles in the nation and most of the country is after him. With all that in mind, Michigan has been able to get him already on campus a few times. He will be very hard to get, but Michigan has already made a good impression.)

16. DT: Maurice Hurst Jr. (Hurst seemed to be on the radar for defensive tackle recruiting, but it wasn't a fact that he was going to get an offer. Well, he recently got that offer and is now visiting this weekend. It is rumored that Michigan and Virginia is his top two and if his visit all goes well, then don't be surprised to see him commit.)

17. DE: Taco Charlton (Michigan Commit)

18. LB: Mike McCray (Michigan Commit)

19. LB: Ben Gedeon (Michigan Commit)

20. CB: Gareon Conley (Michigan Commit)

21. CB: Jourdan Lewis (Michigan Commit)

22. CB: Kirk Garner (Garner goes to the same school that current Wolverine, Blake Countess attended. Countess has made the Michigan vibes turned up to whole another level at his high school and the prospects there are taking notice. Garner has a top six with Michigan being in there without even offering him. I think he has some real interest in finding out more about Michigan, leading him to visit on an official visit. If that offer does happen to come, Michigan might really shoot up that list.)

23. S: Dymonte Thomas (Michigan Commit)

Brice's Recruiting Mailbag

Question: It's nice to see somebody pounding the pavement. Jim Stefani used to do underclass recruiting. What are instate possibilities next year?

Answer: There are many possibilities for the 2014 class in Michigan that could wind up at Michigan or at least getting an offer. Here are a few of the main ones- MI DE Malik McDowell, MI QB Chance Stewart, MI LB Gary Hosey, MI LB William White, MI WR Damon Webb, MI LB Deon Drake, MI WR Drake Harris, MI DE Jordan Van Dort, and MI DT Jake Khoury.

Question: What recruits is Michigan in good shape for 2014? If you could guarantee Michigan gets one guy for 2013 (from guys we actually have a shot at) who would that be? I'm thinking Treadwell.

Answer: Michigan is in good shape for a lot of 2014 prospects and that is because they have gotten an jump start with almost being done with their 2013 class. MI DE Malik McDowell and MI QB Chance Stewart are two that Michigan are already in good shape with. I never like to guarantee anything, but if I had to on somebody for the 2013 class, then I think I would go with your guess as well with IL WR Laquon Treadwell.

Question: I'm curious about which position, statistically, is the last to commit. And etc. Maybe WR, RB, S, CB, with 1st to commit being linemen. I'm surprised to not see some statistics geek having already done this.
Also, statistics about 'by stars'. 4s and 3s first, then 2s, with 5s last?
Just curious.

Answer: Here are the stats last year from the 2012 class. From first to commit to last regarding positions was LB, TE, DB, OL, DE, DT, RB, and WR. We didn't have any recruits rated lower than a 3 star, so it went 3 stars and 4 stars tied for first to commit and 5 stars last. Very interesting to see, but you can see that see aren't the same patterns we are seeing in the 2013 class.

Question: In one year Brady has done more than expected and has raised the bar for the future. To achieve the bar, we must beat Ohio consistently. How do you think Brady will stack up against Meyer from a game management and strategy basis?

Answer: In my opinion, I think Brady will have the upper hand on Meyer just because of his staff that he has assembled. I think either defensive coordinator Greg Mattison or offensive coordinator Al Borges could become head coaches if they wanted too. People will say Urban has that national championship experience and Brady doesn't, but remember that Brady was on the 1997 national championship team for Michigan when he was the defensive line coach. It will be a fun rivalry to watch!

Question: Hello
What defensive linemen (DT) do we have realistic chances to get?
Thx
Roger

Answer: The defensive linemen that we have realistic chances at is MA DT Maurice Hurst Jr, MD DT Henry Poggi, and if Michigan were to offer him, then current Illinois commit, MI DT Kenton Gibbs.

Question: Hello!

My name is Hendrik Olsson, huge Wolverinesfan from Sweden. Just wondering if you could update me on Swedish QB Kevin Dillman (la Miranda ,CA).

Thanks for the question, Hendrik. That is very cool that you are from Sweden and you follow my blog. CA QB Kevin Dillman is just currently a freshmen, but already has offers from Arkansas, California, Colorado, Louisville, Mississippi, UCLA, and Utah. Dillman is 6'4, 205 as an freshmen and is perfect for the pro-style offense that Michigan is transitioning to, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a Michigan offer. Remember though, that offer might not come right away because he is only an FRESHMEN!

Question: Which coach do you think will leave the program if the success continues? If you had to pick current commit to switch to Michigan who would you pick?

Answer: This is a very tight staff, but if I had to pick a coach to leave if this success continues, then I would have to go with offensive coordinator, Al Borges. The other question you have is a hard question to answer, but if I had to pick a current commit to switch to Michigan, then I would pick MI DT Kenton Gibbs. Gibbs is currently committed to Illinois.

Questions Wanted

Please remember to send in your Michigan Football Recruiting questions and I will answer them in a new post I have made called "Brice's Recruiting Mailbag". It came in the form of a commitment from IL RB Ty Isaac. The only problem was he did not commit to Michigan, but rather picked USC. I wouldn't call this an upset, but I did think Michigan was in good position with him considering the distance factor with USC. However, as some of us already know that just because a school is closer for the prospect, doesn't mean that he won't make that travel to USC. The visits blow away many prospects and make it a very intriguing place to attend. Now, look for Michigan to be working on TN RB Jordan Wilkins and VA RB Derrick Green for another running back in this class.

Most started off the day on the wrong foot with the Isaac news, but there was positive news that came later in the day. Michigan extended a offer to MA DT Maurice Hurst Jr. and it was very apparent from this tweet. I think this is someone we should keep an eye on. I like this offer and it comes at a position of need. The interest level is pretty good for Michigan and I could see him become part of this class. He uses his jumping ability and attacks the ball at the highest point to reel the passes with his strong hands. He can also adjust to the ball very well and makes it look easy. Not a speedster, but can make space and get open. Overall, solid pick-up, but an underrated commit that has impressed many recently at the Columbus NFTC and probably be pretty productive in college.

How recruiting looks now-York was offered yesterday by Michigan and that opens some eyes to maybe seeing another commit come into play in the near future. Well, it didn't take long and he jumped on the offer. He is commit #18 and the second wide receiver in this class along with OH WR Jaron Dukes. It looks like wide receiver recruiting will be down to IL WR Laquon Treadwell or another highly touted wide out. If Michigan strikes out on both of those options, then don't be surprised to see Michigan not take another wide out. Now it looks like Michigan will probably take 5 or 6 prospects. It will be interesting to see how they finish down the stretch.

May 6th Recruiting Nuggets

Getting that second chance

MI QB Shance Morris competed in the Columbus Elite 11 Regional Camp and came in having an edge up against his competition. This was his second stint at a regional camp with the other being when he went to the Dallas Elite 11 Regional Camp. With all the hype he had coming in, many thought he was going to get that invite to the Elite 11 Finals. Well, he didn't come away with that golden ticket to the Elite 11 Finals, but did get his revenge this time around. Tom VanHaaren of WolverineNation got a interview with the winner of the Columbus Elite 11 Regional Camp, MI QB Shane Morris and you can check it out here.

#Michigan commit Shane Morris named Elite 11 MVP
— Allen Trieu (@AllenTrieu) May 4, 2012

Won the #Elite11 regional! Massington had a offer from Michigan and many other programs, but seemed to be waiting on one. USC and when they came knocking, then he pulled the trigger and became a Trojan.

TX WR Marchell Ateman was another Texan wide out that Michigan was in on and I thought had a decent shot with his connection with commit MI QB Shane Morris. Ateman did the opposite of fellow Texan, Eldridge Massington by not going far and committing to Oklahoma State.

TX DT Christian Lactoure was one of the targets for Michigan on their interior defensive line and he had good interest in the Wolverines. He made it up to the spring game and came away with it being a big positive. Many thought this was a LSU vs. Michigan race, but he recently committed to neither one of those teams. Nebraska was victorious in this battle and came as a surprise to many for his commitment choice. One thing this could help is getting closer to possibly seeing MI DT Kenton Gibbs get a Michigan offer.

Michigan adds another QB

Michigan picked up another quarterback by getting MI QB Brian Cleary to walk-on at Michigan for 2012. He seems to be a solid pick-up for another walk-on spot in the class of 2012 and gives more depth.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL RECRUITS

Ohio State had received a commitment from PA LB Alex Anzalone, who was a Michigan target prior to them telling him, thanks for your interest, but we are all full at linebacker. Well, he visited Ohio State for their spring game and soon after committed to become a Buckeye. During his trip to Columbus, he took a picture with two other recruits with a fan. This fan happen to be a sex offender, which no one knew at the time. The fan's name is Charles Eric Waugh and he soon released this picture on his Twitter account, which created a stir. Shortly, after the news broke of this picture and who Waugh happened to be, Anzalone decommitted from Ohio State. It will change over time with players being added and dropped. Remember recruiting is a marathon and not a sprint. Tell me what you think.

1. QB: Shane Morris (Michigan Commit)

2. FB/RB: Wyatt Shallman (Michigan Commit)

3. RB: Ty Isaac (Michigan jumped in his recruitment very early and have built good a strong relationship with him. He has already been on campus and it looks like Michigan has pin him as a top priority.)

4. RB: DeVeon Smith (Michigan Commit)

5. WR: Jaron Dukes (Michigan Commit)

6. WR: Laquon Treadwell (Just like with Isaac, Michigan was on Treadwell early and has maintain a high level of interest for him. He has already on the campus a few times and has built a relationship with QB commit, Shane Morris.)

7. WR: Devon Allen (Not a huge name floating around there for many Michigan fans, but if he happens to visit, I just have a feeling that it could really vault them his list. Michigan would have to get an official visit to really be in this race, but I am going with him as my wildcard pick to be in this class.)

8. TE: Jake Butt (Michigan Commit)

9. TE: Khalid Hill (Michigan Commit)

10. OL: David Dawson (Michigan Commit)

11. OL: Chris Fox (Michigan Commit)

12. OL: Kyle Bosch (Michigan Commit)

13. OL: Logan Tuley-Tillman (Michigan Commit)

14. OL: Patrick Kugler (Michigan Commit)

15. DT: Henry Poggi (Poggi is one the most talented defensive tackles in the nation and most of the country is after him. With all that in mind, Michigan has been able to get him already on campus a few times. He will be very hard to get, but Michigan has already made a good impression.)

16. DT: Kenton Gibbs (Gibbs goes to Cass Tech H.S., which has been a pipeline to Michigan recently and they already have two of his teammates committed with David Dawson and Jourdan Lewis. I think he will have a good senior season leading to a late offer from Michigan and he will jump on it.)

17. DE: Taco Charlton (Michigan Commit)

18. LB: Mike McCray (Michigan Commit)

19. LB: Ben Gedeon (Michigan Commit)

20. CB: Gareon Conley (Michigan Commit)

21. CB: Jourdan Lewis (Michigan Commit)

22. S: Dymonte Thomas (Michigan Commit)

Brice's Recruiting Mailbag

Question: Brice..so many questions to ask where do I start. We all of the newer developements with Ty Issac what do you think our chances are with hime? How many more commits do you think we take and what is your breakdown of positions and people that you think that we will actually get for them (my thought was one more running back, 2 more receivers, 2 defensive lineman and one or two for a luxury hight ranked recruit for a total of 6-7 more)? I guess that I will stop at that so I don't overwhelm you!!

M. Blodgett

Answer: IL RB Ty Isaac could decide soon or very late, but I still feel Michigan is in very good position. In my opinion, it looks like a two horse race with Michigan and USC. As for how many more commits I think will be in this class and what positions they will come from, here is how I see it. I think you got it pretty well summed up by Michigan probably taking 6 or 7 commits with 1-2 WR, maybe 1 RB, 2 DL, and 1 or 2 spots for highly touted prospects.

Question: Why is it that UofM doesn't get the high end flashy guys when it's got no problem bringing in talent?

Answer: In my opinion, Michigan is getting the high end flashy guys just not at the spots that get the attention. Last year, Michigan got OH OT Kyle Kalis, CA OT Erik Magnuson, and MO DT Ondre Pipkins. Those are all big time recruits that are heading to Michigan, but just aren't at positions that get much notice. This is year could be a little different if Michigan lands guys like IL RB Ty Isaac, IL WR Laquon Treadwell with already committed MI QB Shane Morris.

Question: Is Levenberry about to make a decision? Who do you think is likely to be our next commit? Him? another player? And when?

Thanks
Roger

Answer: Sorry about no answer before Levenberry's decison. I have been very busy, but it didn't shock me that Michigan wasn't the winner in the race. I am gonna go with a sleeper pick to be the next commit with MI DT Kenton Gibbs. I expect him to camp this summer and impress the coaches enough for a offer. Once he gets that offer, I wouldn't be surprised to see him commit on the spot.

Questions Wanted

Please remember to send in your Michigan Football Recruiting questions and I will answer them in a new post I have made called "Brice's Recruiting Mailbag". Michigan has the most ESPNU 150 commits so far in their initial rankings and Florida is second with having seven commits ranked in the ESPNU 150. How many does Michigan have you ask? Remember, Florida has seven while Michigan has eleven! Here is where all eleven commits sit in the ESPNU 150. If you would like to see the whole list, check it out here.

One thing that you will notice below is every offensive linemen in this class was ranked in the ESPNU 150. That shows how much this staff is focusing on building the lines up front to become one of the best.

#37 MI QB Shane Morris
#63 OH CB Gareon Conley
#75 OH LB Mike McCray
#92 MI OG David Dawson
#97 IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman
#98 OH ATH Dymonte Thomas
#105 CO OT Chris Fox
#107 MI CB Jourdan Lewis
#112 IL OT Kyle Bosch
#115 OH DE Taco Charlton
#121 PA OG Patrick Kugler

I would also like to say sorry about little content lately and that is because of the dump of work I have gotten recently. I did take in the spring game and thought the team look like they were poised and ready for the game. Many guys looked bigger and stronger for the physical upcoming season. One thing that did stick out was that the players, coaches, and everybody look to be on be the same page and I could see that in Brady Hoke's second year at Michigan.

4-10-12 Recruiting Nuggets

Commitment #17

OH LB Ben Gedeon just committed tonight to Michigan. He is commit #17 and the second linebacker in this class. He was a major lean to the Wolverines, many thought he wouldn't hold up any longer. I will have a commitment breakdown coming up later.

Adidas Invitational

This camp showcased some of the best in the Midwest and they did not disappoint. They only thing was that half of the Michigan class was there either watching or competing. Here is some video on how some of the Michigan commits and targets fared at the camp last weekend. MI QB Shane Morris is what I call a camp warrior with attending as many camps as possible and competing. Well, he did his thing and showed his fire ball along with his touch. MI OG David Dawson dominated the whole day beating CA DE Joe Mathis at the tug of war with the tire and winning most of his one on ones. Mi CB Jourdan Lewis really showed he can play on the outside by locking down everyone at the cornerback position and even made some plays being a wide out.

Will Michigan have their own All-Star Game?

Michigan currently has five commits in the Under Armour All-American Game with Mi QB Shane Morris, IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman, MI OG David Dawson, OH CB Gareon Conley, and PA OG Patrick Kugler. I didn't even mention that Michigan has two other commits in the U.S. Army All-American Game featuring OH LB Mike McCray and CO OT Chris Fox. Back to the Under Armour All-American Game, could you imagine having another commit in this game? Well, IL OT Kyle Bosch was just invited to the Under Armour All-American Game. No decision yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the game.

See ya!

NJ DT Greg Webb seemed to be one of the top priorities, but that doesn't always mean you get them. Yes, I know it is hard to believe with the way Michigan is recruiting now a days. Anyways, Webb took a visit to Happy Valley and it take him long to see that was the place for him, so he committed.

MO OT Andy Bauer was looking to be a top notch prospect for the 2014 class with many heavy hitters already coming after him, but he made sure that was going to end with him committing to Missouri.

Washington D.C. CB Devin Butler was a guy Michigan wanted, but I didn't know how much. It didn't matter with him making a pledge to Notre Dame.

The Flyin' Hawaiian

HI DT Scott Pagano was recently offered by Michigan, but they could be too late to the party with most of the West Coast already offering him. I really like his game and this could interesting to see now if Michigan can get him to take an official out here. If he happens to visit, then I could see Michigan really in this race.

Contenders

I just want to say congrats to Michigan Basketball on retaining Co-Big Ten Freshmen of the Year, PG Trey Burke. He makes this team explosive and they will be very fun to watch next year. Lots of talent, but will it all come together? Time will tell.

April 9 Best Guess Recruiting List

Here is my 2013 best guess list of what I think the class is going to look like.

7. TE: Jake Butt (Michigan Commit)

8. TE: Khalid Hill (Michigan Commit)

9. OL: David Dawson (Michigan Commit)

10. OL: Chris Fox (Michigan Commit)

11. OL: Kyle Bosch (Michigan Commit)

12. OL: Logan Tuley-Tillman (Michigan Commit)

13. OL: Patrick Kugler (Michigan Commit)

14. DT: Henry Poggi (Poggi is one the most talented defensive tackles in the nation and most of the country is after him. With all that in mind, Michigan has been able to get him already on campus a few times. He will be very hard to get, but Michigan has already made a good impression.)

16. DE: Taco Charlton (Michigan Commit)

17. DE: Joe Mathis (Mathis was a kid Michigan has been on for awhile, but didn't seem like they would be major contenders. It really started to pick up steam a week ago after Taco made his presence felt at the L.A. NFTC and created a bond with him. Michigan was in his ear and he saw one of best and where he was going too. Next, was his unofficial visit to Michigan and it went better than most thought it was going to go. The next day he went to the Adidas Invitational and was surrounded by half of the Michigan class. Overall, Michigan really made a spalsh in his recruitment, but we will see how he feels a few months from now. The next step to watch is his official to Michigan and how it goes.)

18. LB: Mike McCray (Michigan Commit)

19. LB: Ben Gedeon (Another kid that Michigan was early on and it has made an good impact. It also helps Michigan has got him to camp last year and come up to the BBQ at the Big House. With Ohio State offering it seems like they don't want to have another Joe Bolden situation, where they didn't offer a very talented player in-state and it came to bite them in the butt. He recently took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor and there was some thought he could commit. It didn't happen but, Michigan is in good position.)

20. LB: E.J. Levenberry (Levenberry is one of the top linebackers and one of the top players in the nation. Michigan currently stands on top of his list and that could of came after a raving report that came from an unofficial visit he made earlier. For Michigan to stay at the top, then they will need to leave a good impression at the Spring Game and I see this being a battle to the end for Levenberry.)

21. CB: Gareon Conley (Michigan Commit)

22. CB: Jourdan Lewis (Michigan Commit)

23. S: Dymonte Thomas (Michigan Commit)

Brice's Recruiting Mailbag

Question: When might we see another commitment? Any forcast on the timeline for commiting for those you have on your "most likely" list?

Thanks,
Roger

Answer: I think around the Spring Game that you could see another commit or commits. As far as timelines go, the remaining targets look to have longer decision dates.

Question: Kugler and Levenberry were buried by 247. Kugler is Scoutt's number 1 OG. Shows how subjective these rankings are.

Answer: These rankings vary from all the different recruiting networks and some see certain prospects in really different lights too. You have to remember that these rankings change over time all the way up to Signing Day.

Question: Are you surprised we are not getting more interest and commits from top wr's? Our coaches are obviously very good recruitors and we have Shane as a QB and very little depth ahead. Whats up

Answer: I think Michigan is getting interest from a lot of top flight wide receivers, but their timelines don't match up with an early decision date.

Question: Top WRs do not commit early, diva like attention.

Answer: That is not always the case in the first part of your statement, but it seems like they haven't recently been committing early. The other part is something I have heard and it is your opinion.

Taco supreme and more!

OH DE Taco Charlton made the long trek out to Los Angeles, for the Nike Football Training Camp. Now, you can add a third to the list. OH CB Gareon Conley has accepted an invitation, according to his tweet. There is also invites to PA OG Patrick Kugler and OH LB Mike McCray. Just when I was about done with this article, IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman accepted an invitation to the Under Armour All-American Game, according to his tweet. He is now the fourth Michigan commit in the game. Moments ago, PA OG Patrick Kugler decided to join his other four fellow commitments in the UA All-American Game.

Just accepted to play in the Under Armor All-american game! #allamerican #GoBlue
— Patrick Kugler (@Kugleybear57) April 3, 2012

MD CB Kendall Fuller is one of the top prospects in the 2013 class and attends the same high school as current Wolverine, Blake Countess did. Fuller's teammate LB Dorian O'Daniel cancelled his trip to the Michigan Spring Game, so many thought Fuller might not come up as well. That is not the case as he tweets about his upcoming trip to Michigan.

MD CB Kirk Garner is not a very know name to a lot of Michigan fans, but he might become one that they should start to learn. He is a teammate of MD CB Kendall Fuller and is one of the top cornerbacks in the nation. It now sounds that he might be visiting too. That would be an interesting scenario with Michigan already having two cornerback commits in the class and seeing what could happen.

Questions Wanted

Please remember to send in your Michigan Football Recruiting questions and I will answer them in a new post I have made called "Brice's Recruiting Mailbag". All this means is that most of the country thinks he is a highly touted offensive linemen and that could show in his rankings.

247 Sports updated their recruiting rankings for the top 247. PA OG Patrick Kugler, IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman, and MI QB Shane Morris will all be on campus this weekend.

3-26-12 Recruiting Nuggets

Trojans charging?

USC has limitations with the NCAA sanctions by scholarship numbers, so they have to be careful with who they offer. What does USC do? Well, they offered MI OG David Dawson, but don't fear for this lineman to go out West now. They were not done with offering IL OT Logan Tuley-Tillman. No worries with him just like Dawson, though.

The stars are always bigger in Texas

MI QB Shane Morris went to Texas to show off gun slinging arm at the Dallas Elite 11 camp and had a pretty good showing, but Morris thought he could have done better. Here is also a video interview from Morris at the Dallas Elite 11 camp and ESPN's recruiting analyst, Tom Luginbill gave a breakdown on Morris's showing at the camp too. One thing that was not in question at the camp was his affection for Michigan, which was apparent from this picture.

St. Patrick's Day Hangover Effect?

Many Michigan fans can remember the super weekend in recruiting earlier this year that resulted into eight commitments. Notre Dame didn't do as well, but did pretty good for a few days of work by picking up IL OT Colin McGovern, KY OT Hunter Bivin, and PA OT Mike McGlinchey. All were Michigan targets at one point, but after the slew of offensive linemen commitments, it just didn't give them anymore room to squeeze into this class.

Surprise, there is another Cass Tech All-American!

Michigan has what many consider a pipeline school in Cass Tech HS, in Detroit, Michigan. They have gotten many players recently from there and a lot of them were high school All Americans. Well, they got another in MI OG David Dawson after he recently got invited to the Under Armour All-American Game. Not only did he just get invited, but he also accepted the invite. He is Michigan's second commit in the All-Star game now along with MI QB Shane Morris.

Did he commit or did he not commit, that is the question

One of Michigan's position of needs for the 2013 class is wide receiver. IL WR Laquon Treadwell is one Michigan's top targets and they seem to be in good shape for him. He posted a tweet today, saying Team 134. Well, on Twitter many of the 2013 class have been talking about their class by saying Team 134 and that got a lot of Michigan fans excited once they saw Mr. Treadwell's tweet. TomVH of Wolverinenation tweeted that his tweet did not mean he was committing to Michigan.

Commitment news on the horizon?

Each morning on WTKA, Michigan recruiting guru, Sam Webb does a daily recruiting roundup that goes over the latest and greatest in football and/or basketball. Well, today the Michigan recruiting fan base was going crazy after hearing him say that there could be two commits come before or during the spring game. I do not know what he exactly said because I'm at school during the recruiting roundup, but if I had to guess, then I would say he was probably saying that he could see Michigan possibly getting a few more commits in the near future. This is just my opinion based on what I heard remember.

March 24 Best Guess Recruiting List

Here is my first 2013 best guess list of what I think the class is going to look like.

7. TE: Jake Butt (Michigan Commit)

8. TE: Khalid Hill (Michigan Commit)

9. OL: David Dawson (Michigan Commit)

10. OL: Chris Fox (Michigan Commit)

11. OL: Kyle Bosch (Michigan Commit)

12. OL: Logan Tuley-Tillman (Michigan Commit)

13. OL: Patrick Kugler (Michigan Commit)

14. DT: Henry Poggi (Poggi is one the most talented defensive tackles in the nation and most of the country is after him. With all that in mind, Michigan has been able to get him already on campus a few times. He will be very hard to get, but Michigan has already made a good impression.)

16. DE: Taco Charlton (Michigan Commit)

17. LB: Mike McCray (Michigan Commit)

20. CB: Gareon Conley (Michigan Commit)

21. CB: Jourdan Lewis (Michigan Commit)

22. S: Dymonte Thomas (Michigan Commit)
