Tastykake Minis!

I am so loving these cute little Tastykake mini cupcakes. They are three little cupcakes, just the perfect size for my kids. That way you can enjoy the creamy middle in all of them!

Thanks to Influenster, I received a box of the new Tastykake Minis to try. I received a box of the Swirly Cupkakes. They are made with Hershey's Cocoa which adds a nice chocolate taste to the cupcake.

They come packaged in three little cupcakes per packet. Perfect size for snacking and sharing.

I shared a pack with my son. As you can see he was really excited to try these too. Let's just say I got one out of the three.

There is just enough icing and cream filling to give you a taste of each in every bite. The bigger cupcakes leave me wanting because you only get a little pocket of the cream filling in the middle. These are bite size, so each bite is filled with yumminess!

Bear in the "Snuggle" Den

Summer break is almost over and it will be back to work and school. I can't believe how fast it went this year. I took a few road trips here and there, and found some neat places to hang out for a couple of days and relax.

Thanks to Snuggle, I received a Snuggle Bear to enjoy the trips with me! How fun is that! He shared in bike rides and basketball, as well as, a road trip to Jacksonville, Florida!

He truly enjoyed the sunset as much as I did. We ran into a cute little manatee while we were there too. He hid under the boat and made it difficult for us to leave.

The manatee came up for air and caught us all off guard. We even glimpsed his giant fin as he snuck under the boat again.

Before we headed to our destination we stopped at the Russell Stover outlet. Tons of chocolate! I love their discount section in the back. You can buy a bag of "boo boo" chocolates for a really good price. My tummy doesn't know the difference for sure. It still tastes really good.

I know I have had a good summer and I hope that Snuggle Bear did too. My kids laughed at me in the beginning when I started taking photos, but they soon found places to take Snuggle's picture and were reminding me to take them when I could.

I'm all about convenience. Anything that is going to make my life easier and makes things quicker in the morning is awesome. Thanks to Nescafe, I now have a better method for my morning coffee. I don't even have to worry about having creamer in the fridge! Nescafe now has an all in one coffee and creamer. Yup! Everything in one place. It is even convenient for taking to work. I just add hot water and, viola!

Kiss Everlasting French Manicure

Thanks to Influenster I got try out the new Kiss Everlasting French Manicure kit. I don't usually do my nails because I am always cleaning or doing things that cause my nails to break or the polish to come off. I was excited to try these though, especially when I saw they were supposed to be chip resistant!

The 4th of July holiday is close so I decided to step up the nails. What more fun that customizing them to the holiday? It was really easy to do my own personalization because I didn't have them on. Have you ever tried to paint your own nails and makes designs? Holy cow! My left hand just doesn't do what I am telling it to.

I was happy with how the nails turned out. With an easy start of having the french manicure part on the nail, adding to it was awesome.

I would save these for a special occasion or date night though. I didn't get them to stay on longer than three days. I told you I use my hands a lot. For a quick pretty to your nails, these are perfect and reasonably priced.

First Aid Shot Therapy Review

Well, summer is here and so the yard work begins. When it isn't a million degrees (well, it feels that way here in Florida) I like to get some of the yard work done in the evening. Unfortunately, summer also brings the joy of bugs. Bugs here are not tiny in any sense. It seems everything stings too. Fire ants, wasps, bees, etc.

Thanks to our overgrowth of critters and bugs here, I had a nasty run in with a wasp. Yup, trimming the hedges, minding my own business. He flew out and got me good. Twice on the arm and once on the leg. Of course I ran screaming like a little girl to get away, but that sucker chased me around the yard.

A week ago I received one of my Vox Boxes from Influenster. They sent me First Aid Shot Therapy to try. It is a shot of pain relief in liquid form. After the wasp got me, I thought I would give the First Aid Shot Therapy a try. It helped ease some of the pain from the stings. It seemed to work faster than taking a tablet, which was great considering the pain I was in. I guess I will be hunting the wasp down and paying him back with a nice spray of wasp killer. Can't chance my kids getting stung too.

Influenster Spring Vox Box Review

Everyone I know loves samples! Hooray to Influenster for allowing me to try some great products! I recently received the Spring Vox Box which was filled with some fun things.

I was really excited to try some of these. First, I will start with the Softlips Cube. I love it! I have never had such soft and moist lips. I use this product after I apply one of those all day lipstick colors. You know the kind. They dry lips up to little raisins because it is literally like adding a coat of paint! Well, I smear a dose of the Softlips Cube on and it resolves all of those issues.

Second, the Rimmel Scandal Eyes. What woman doesn't want an eye full of luscious lashes? This encourage longer lashes without the lash curler. I had a friend tell me one time that I use my lash curler too much and my lashes will fall out if I don't stop. Thanks goodness I finally found a product that can help lengthen my lashes without making them fall out.

Next is the Nivea Skin Firming Hydration. Not so sure about the skin firming part, but I am absolutely sold the the hydration part. I don't like sticky residue from lotions and this one doesn't leave one for me. My hands aren't gross after applying it.

The Kiss Nails Everlasting set. Well, this says it is chip free. I got a cute set of french manicure nails to apply. I am very hard on my hands and nails to say the least. Always cleaning something it seems. These lasted about a week without too much demise in my regular schedule of things. Not a real manicure person because I would be wasting my money, but for a quick fix for a date or night out, these would be great.

Lastly, the Playtex Sport. I don't like to change brands in this area, but in this case I thought I would give it a try. Needless to say I was sorely disappointed. Things just didn't work the way they were supposed to. It didn't "bloom" (girls, you will know what I mean) to my satisfaction. Application was easy, but protection left me a little perturbed.

Once again, thanks to Influenster for their box of wonderful goodies. I have truly enjoyed trying them all!

Ahni & Zoe by Creative Memories

I have so many photos in boxes I don't even know what to do with. Who doesn't? I know we have gone to a mostly digital media nowadays, but who doesn't like that beautiful book that celebrates the birth of our baby, or that shows off our wedding and the happiness we share? I love scrapbooking, but I don't like the work involved. Setting up the pages is just confusing for me sometimes.

Thanks to Ahni & Zoe, a company by Creative Memories, you can now create your own scrapbooks easily. They have set ups so easy that you just place a photo on the page to match the description. They also have prepared theme books so you don't have to find all the pages to match your topic. Awesomeness! I am proud to say that my sister-in-law has taken on sharing this wonderful invention herself. Just look how easy the pages are put together!

This new process has me hopping on the wagon to join all those other fancy scrapbooking people, but with the ability to have my book also look professional without having to work as hard. Stop by and see some of the awesome products they have to offer. I see Mother's Day gifts in the near future.

Keurig Rivo Cappuccino & Lattes

Thanks to House Party, I am going to get to have a Keurig Rivo House Party! Woo Hoo! This little machine is totally awesome and makes becoming a barista at home easy. I can't wait to take this thing for a test run. Let's take a look at this machine!

Notice the large water reservoir. Lots of good coffee is going to come out of this baby. The beautiful clear cup on the right is the frothing cup. It steams and froths your milk to perfection. In 90 seconds you have the perfect steamed/frothed milk.

These are the boxes that my party supplies and my lovely machine came in. The top box is extra goodies for my party. There were some cookies, nice paper coffee cups with lids, and extra pods for more coffee.

This is the final product. I made my first drink. It was absolutely wonderful. The temperature was perfect and the milk was the proper amount with just the right foam on top.

I can't wait until my party so I can brew up a bunch of yummy lattes and Americanos. I have been reviewing the recipes they sent with the machine so I will be heading out to buy some caramel and vanilla syrups to jazz up the drinks.

Viva Vantage

I recently received the new Viva paper towels to try courtesy of Crowdtap. I usually buy the cheaper paper towels that cause you to use three or four before the mess is actually cleaned up. I am loving these new Viva paper towels. I spilled some coffee on the counter in two places to test out the towels I currently have and the Viva.

From what you can see, the Mardi Gras paper towel soaked through and kept spreading. The Viva towel stopped it and kept it pretty contained in one spot. I actually ended up using the Viva towel to clean both messes. As a mom to two teenagers, I am excited about the ability of these paper towels. I always have something to clean up somewhere.

Children's Mucinex® Multi-Symptom Cold. Everyone is fighting a cold it seems. The weather changes have been crazy, 68 one day, 82 the next. It seems to keep the germs handy, especially in the school I work at. Kids just keep passing it back and forth.

Being a member of Influenster, I receive great products to try and use. This time around I was excited to receive some Suave products. Being a woman doesn't mean I like to sit in front of the mirror and primp. I am absolutely the opposite. The faster the hair and make up, the happier I am.

Now that the weather has cooled off I don't have to wash my hair every day. But sometimes I notice that I do have an "outdoor" scent from my daily walks. Thanks to the effectiveness of Suave's Keratin Dry Shampoo, I don't have to wash my hair. I have tried other dry shampoos, but this by far is the best. I love the clean scent that refreshes my hair. It isn't so strong that I smell it the rest of the day and it makes my hair look less oily.

I also received the Suave Styling Paste. My husband is more of a gel guy. I myself tried it. I have these little flyaways on the side that never seem to stay down. I used a little on rubbed it on the hair and it stayed down the whole day. It isn't really manly scented so no one noticed that I had even used it.

I helped my kids use the Suave Kids Styling Gel. They have what we call "duck butts." That is where the corner of the head has hair that sticks out like, well, duck butts. After learning the process to use gel they were amazed at how well it held their hair down.

I am loving the quality products from Suave and look forward to purchasing them in the future. Influenster sent me these awesome products to try.

Turkey in the Crockpot

For most people, this time of the year conjures an awesome feast filled with turkey. I have a problem with that though. I don't like turkey. It's okay. You can be upset. My husband is. He only gets turkey once a year, and Thanksgiving is it.

I went to my mother-in-law's over the past weekend. She did something amazing with a turkey. She cooked it in her crockpot. Who knew? I was just sure that I would still despise that giant bird that tasted like bird. Turkey always seems to be a little gamey for me.

So I sat down to dinner, and as a gracious dinner guest, I put the turkey on my plate. I had already verbalized my dislike for this meat, but wanted to give this recipe a chance. It was, yes, get ready, delicious. There was no "birdy" taste in my mouth at all. The turkey was juicy and full of flavor, just not bird.

In order for me to have this recipe in a place that I would forever have it accessible, I decided to post it here. Thankfully, anyone else is welcome to try it. I am telling you it is great. Your kitchen doesn't get hot, you don't have to open the oven every 30 minutes to baste it, and it taste great!

Here ya go!

1 turkey breast

15-oz. can whole berry cranberry sauce

1 envelope dry onion soup mix

½ cup orange juice ( I added a little extra because the breast was so large)

½ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

Directions:

1.Place the turkey in the slow cooker

2. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over turkey

3. Cover, cook for 6-8 hours (I believe it was on low for this amount of time, but check your manual for proper internal temperature at doneness).

I will forever be grateful for a turkey dinner that isn't reminiscent of a turkey. Now that I have this recipe I may make it twice year, lol.

Always Need A Retreat for the Body

Now that winter is coming, I have noticed my skin is becoming a little more dry. I have tried dozens of different lotions and potions to try to come up with a way to help keep my skin moisturized. It just seems that all they do is make me greasy. I have several that I love the scents, but the greasy after glow is just not for me.

Recently I tried something new. It is called Retreat For The Body. I am totally loving it! She has four wonderful scents. I have tried two of them which I absolutely like.

The lavender, vanilla and patchouli is a warmer scent with a touch of spice. The vanilla and peppermint is reminiscent of a vanilla cookie and a peppermint stick all mixed up together. It smelled so good I almost wanted to lick it out of the container. She also has vanilla, patchouli and citrus scent as well as vanilla peppermint and orange. If you check out her site you will also see she has lip balms she makes herself.

All of her goodies are made from natural ingredients and are paraben free. The lotions leave your skin feeling so soft and you smell wonderful! I know I see some upcoming holiday stocking stuffers for some of my friends this year!

The Lordship of Christ book review

I recently received the opportunity to review The Lordship of Christ courtesy of BookSneeze. I enjoyed how there is more scripture used in this book, rather than analyzing and judging of the biblical scriptures. You can actually read the truth in what is being said because you have examples that prove the point.

Everything from daily submission to holy living is discussed using the scriptures. John McArthur takes the time to make it plain and simple for the bible impaired. I enjoyed reading the pages as they spoke to me through the bibles words and not someone telling me how to do it. It is "applied" truth and guides in the direction God would want us to go, not man.

I recommend reading this book if you are looking for a generalized explanation of some of today's bible topics. It made so many different things more clear for me while not feeling judged for being who I am.

L'Oreal's Magic Skin Beautifier

I recently had the chance to try L'Oreal's Magic Skin Beautifier BB cream. I didn't know if this stuff would actually do anything for me. It seems the older I get make up becomes less useful for me. It just usually clumps in my fine lines or exaggerates them.

Boy was I surprised at how well this BB cream actually worked. I first applied it to one side of my forehead and looked at the difference. The side where I had placed the cream was much smoother looking. I was so impressed.

All I can say is thank you to SheSpeaks for giving me this great opportunity to try this awesome product. I most definitely will recommend it to my friends. How amazing is is that something that is one color can change to blend to your skin color and look so perfect?

Palmolive Fresh Infusions Review

Who likes washing dishes by hand? I don't. I prefer loading the dishwasher and letting it do its thing. If I have to wash by hand I want a lot of scent and something that is going to soften my hands, not dry them out. It has to also cut the grease on my dishes.

It looks like Palmolive has given us something that might actually meet all of my demands. I would like a lot more scent, but these are fresh subtle scented soaps that don't over power you. Sometimes when you use some others (won't name them) they have a strong lemon smell. That's fine if you like lemons. These come in different scents such as Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme, & Ginger White Tea. They sound exotic, but are more for the kitchen area.

I will continue to enjoy these wonderful new scents and the great job the Palmolive is doing on my dishes and my hands. If you want to enjoy these scents yourself, Wal-Mart has them reasonably priced at $2.99 a bottle. Stop by yourself and smell how wonderful they are.

Summer Box of Crave

I got another Cravebox today. I so love these! All of the treats are put in a box with beautiful little colored shreds of paper! It's like Christmas every time I open the boxes. This one has lots of summer goodies. Some things I have never heard of and am very anxious to try.

I am excited to try these TrueLemon lemonade packets. You just add them to a bottle of water and "ta-da," lemonade! I love the convenience of the packets and how they fit nicely in my purse to take with me.

Next up is a BiC FlameDisk. I have never heard of these and am interested in seeing how they work. It sure looks like clean up the grill will be a ton easier.

The Mozaik Appetizer set is sooooo cute! I have never seen anything like it. I am sure if I had girls that they would want this to play with. It looks like a dinner serving set for dolls. I am going to have to find some really nice appetizers to serve on these. I bet you could even get away with using these in a wedding environment because they are just that formal.

I also received a coupon good for one BiC multi purpose lighter. Who can't use those? I always burn myself using matches when I try to light candles. These make it so much easier reaching the wick when the candle has worked its way down inside the container.

I am also looking forward to brewing a nice pitcher of MightyLeaf Iced Tea. This summer has been exceptionally hot and iced tea always tastes good in the heat.

So until my next box arrives, I am going to totally enjoy using all of my new goodies and sit on my porch drinking my freshly brewed tea while I await my next box.

Cravebox - How I crave the box!

I love getting things in the mail. Especially boxes of things. I recently had the chance to sign up with Cravebox, and boy oh boy! You get lots of goodies crammed in a box based on a topic. This month is cleaning. As you can see from the photo I got lots of things to try.

I can't wait to try the glass cleaner. I have just about given up on trying to clean glass. My coffee table and end tables are made with glass tops and let's just say that I hate them. So I will definitely be trying the glass cleaner first.

The coupon for trash bags will be put to use too. With three boys in the house I accumulate lots of trash. I am not a keeper of things. I love to throw stuff away. I am probably the only person I know that actually has bare cupboards in the kitchen because I don't have tons of gadgets or gizmos.

I can hardly wait until next month to get my next box!

John Carter in 3D = Awesome!

So tonight is the Oscars on television. All of the stars will be dressed to their best and awaiting to see if they will win that coveted little gold man. I see a movie once in a while, but at over $50 a pop for a family of four we limit our choices. But when it is free, we are there!

We got to go the premiere showing of John Carter! This was the first showing in our area before the actual release date next month. Half of the theater was reserved for the press, so we were in judgmental company. The boys had been excited to see this one, as well as hubby. As for me, well, I figured it would be lame stuff. Some fighting, a little romance, some more fighting, blah, blah. Boy was I wrong! I found myself cheering on John Carter's team. There were many scenes that were "Star Wars'esque", so they seemed familiar, but it did keep you on the edge of your seat. I have to say I was surprised that I actually liked the movie and fell in love with his "dog". If you see the movie, so will you.

I recommend taking the kids to see this one. It was a Disney movie, so they tried to keep it clean with language and boy part exposure, which they did a great job. Although, if I had the princess' body, I can't say I wouldn't wear her wedding gown myself. Wowsers!

Ghirardellis Chocolate is True Love

Valentines Day is filled with love. I was greatly surprised by a dozen roses delivered by hubby. Normally a call to the front office would set me in a panic, but when they said I had something up there I got curious. I was greeted by a dozen beautiful red roses and a card.

I received more true love from SheSpeaks when I opened my mailbox and it had a bag of Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate with Truffle filling squares. Who doesn't love chocolate? I thought about sharing, but decided against it. I love the truffle flavor and the chocolate is so smooth! You could spend tons of money on the more expensive chocolates, but you would be wasting your money.

These are great by themselves and even better with a hot cup of coffee. I have secured a safe place for the bag and will be saving them for "me" time to make sure I don't have to share!

The Secret World of Arrietty

The boys turned eleven this week and we made them wait until this weekend to celebrate it. There is just too much happening during the week to go out and run around. One of their presents was dinner out. They chose Golden Corral. Let's just say I wish I had their metabolism. I can't believe how much a little boy can eat! That's fine, the boys eat enough to make up for what I don't eat.

Another thing we did was go see The Secret World of Arrietty. I had free passes to preview the movie before it is released on the 17th. It is an anime style movie. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but I was given a great surprise. It would get really serious and then finally some comedy would come in to make you laugh and relax. It is based on "The Borrowers", so if you know what that is, you have an idea what the movie will be like. We took grandma with us. Her allergies have been bothering her pretty bad lately. At the end of the movie I kept hearing sniffing, and looked over. I thought her nose was running, but she was crying. It was cute. For a cartoon it kept you involved and entertained. It was nice to see something that didn't have blood and guts or lots of "adult" undertones. Thank you Disney for the passes, we loved it!

I have to say the boys made out like bandits overall, and are true spoiled little boys.

It's Manual

It's check up time again. Time to get the boys teeth cleaned and check for cavities. Of course I use the biggest threat I can think of if cavities are found. I tell them they had better take care of their teeth or their Christmas will be slim. Anything I have to spend on fixing teeth will be less under the tree for them. I am guessing they are believing me to be serious. We had their six month cleaning and neither one of them had cavities. Thank you!

Included in the "goody" bag is a new toothbrush. Being the good mom that I am, they already had nice toothbrushes. I had gotten them some battery powered ones to help clean a little better. Said son was playing with his the other morning and it died. Go figure. I hear, "mom, it won't turn on. How do I make it work?" Hmmm, can't work a toothbrush. I tell him back, "son, you're going to have to do it the old fashion way. Move your arm around." He kind of looked at me funny, but I'm sure he got it.

So now that we know how to use a toothbrush the "old fashion" way, we need to learn that dental floss is not climbing rope for G.I. Joes or mummy wrap for stuffed animals. All in due time.

My baby brother came to visit over the holidays. He and one of my other brothers have become aficionados of beer. They like to go different places and try the beers that are local to that area.

Well, they had recently opened a large shop in the area I like to call the Sam's club of beer and wine. It is absolutely huge! I think if there is anything you want to drink, they will have it. He spent a good hour in there, like a kid in a candy store. So many choices to try. He picked up several to bring to my house and some to take home.

He gave me some that I had never tasted, including IPAs. I don't know the difference on any of them except the cute stickers on the bottle with the company name. Some of them are pretty plain, a fish? Some of them are pretty elaborate. I like to pride myself on being able to drink strong stouts, so when he gave me one to sample I was ready. Or so I thought. I took a chug and my knees literally buckled. That drink just about knocked me on my booty! It is so strong, it was like consuming a steak dinner, mashed potatoes included, in one tiny sip.

I have enjoyed trying the new beers and tasting the flavors that I would have never experienced before. He has a blog that he also uses to review the beer that he and another brother of mine sample. They give their personal opinions and say what type of flavor it is, how strong it is, and whether or not they recommend it.
