Bloom - Poster Design And Coordinating Event Invite

2015-04-20T14:58:00.001-07:00

I haven't been making too many posters lately and I just loved getting back to it! The creativity is endless! This was inspired by all the beautiful spring tulips Im seeing all over.

The client wanted black and white invitations to match which was a challenge because the poster is so full of color and represents spring and I didn't want to just gray scale everything. I wanted to utilize the black and white and design just for it.

Missionary Blog Design

2014-09-19T07:52:00.003-07:00

This lady was such an awesome and rare client. She just let me do whatever I wanted for this blogger blog design. She had no request. She just wanted something other than her boring white background. As a graphic designer, this was gold! Lol! So I came up with this custom designed header that not only was able to show case this missionaries new home for the next two years but I also got to have fun with typography and layout. On the right left corner you have the capitol city of Paraguay skyline, on the bottom right you have the national flower "passion flower". On the top left you have a famous Asuncion historical building "Cabildo". And of course on the bottom left a fun illustration of Elder Heugly. I wanted to give it all a modern and masculine touch and kept the background simple using a photo of the missionary himself in the background design as a pattern.

Book Club Invitation Design

2014-09-09T01:57:00.001-07:00

This was a fun design I did earlier this year for a dear friend of mine. She is a part of a lovely book club and wanted something fun and special for her ladies group. I just love working with text and getting to design stuff like this because I get to have a lot of fun with word placement.

"Relationships" February Event Poster Design

2014-02-12T08:23:00.000-08:00

I love getting back to making posters again. Its been a few months since Ive done one, and Ive missed the creativity that comes with them. There are so many new tricks and photoshop features to try on them. It's been really fun.

I loved getting to work with so many beautiful photos and getting to use my love for typography in this design. I also wanted to give it a bit of a February touch with some of the colors and design elements. Incorporating a paper theme with the letters and the paper men chain was fun and challenging and I just love how it turned out.

Here is the coordinating handout design below.

Happy Valentines!

Office Snap Brand Identity and Web Design

2014-02-06T18:02:00.000-08:00

I designed this look for Office Snap Inc, a company that specializes in helping small business save money and utilize their office technologies more efficiently.

Their name “Office Snap Inc.” was inspired by making office and business chores easier... or done in a “Snap”. So I got the idea that it would be neat if I created some typography in where the letters were “snapped” together, so to speak.

The recycled paper texture was also an important element of this brand identity. One of the services that Office Snap Inc provides is helping a company go more green and paperless. So the client and I thought it would be a great staple if we incorporated this kind of texture into the identity of the company.

Shine Dance Apparel (branding package design)

2014-02-04T02:17:00.002-08:00

Shine Dance Apparel was such a fun girly project to work on. My inner teenager had a blast with all the glitter and sparkles I got to create and work with.

Shine Dance Apparel is a dance studio in Spanish Fork Utah that wanted to branch out from their growing dance class business to include their own product line and a brick and mortar consignment store. They needed a versatile logo for multiple uses that they could use for web and printing on different mediums like vinyl, glass, clothing, paper, and even awnings. They also needed to print on various colors as well and thats what makes this logo unique is that it can be printed on both light and dark backgrounds and also makes a great watermark.

I also really loved getting to work on the logos for their male clothing line Swag On. They wanted to wanted to play off their original main logo and give it a more masculine hip hop look.

And here are the female dance clothing line logo designs....

Book Exchange -Event Poster Design

2013-10-01T11:56:00.002-07:00

My favorite thing with poster design is coming up with new layouts that Ive never done before and this is no exception. I loved using a more vertical layout with this and making the photo of the woman reading take up half the page. Than I had a bunch of fun with the layout of the "copy" on the right giving it some fun retro effects. Then finishing up the whole project with some much need texture.

Harvest Party -Event Poster Design

2013-10-01T11:50:00.000-07:00

This was a fun concept of going for a cutting board kind of look. Like the letters where carved into the board and we have a bunch of the ingredients piled around promising an endless possibility to hopeful chili contestants.

You can order you custom harvest poster from my etsy shop here.

Graphic Design Resume Design 2013

2013-08-23T17:36:00.000-07:00

As a graphic designer you can't just use any old resume template for yourself. Its just not going to cut it. Its important to think of your resume design as another portfolio piece representing the kind of work you do. There are so many great design out there. I found myself was over stimulated with ideas for my own resume and knew I was going to have to do something completely unique to stand out in this competitive field. I have was inspired by some of the transparency style designs I have been seeing lately and wanted to incorporate some of that with some of my favorite colors. In the end I really love how it tuned out and feel confident submitting this resume to potential employers.

Here are some great resumes designs that I just had to share with you.

Vintage Event Outfitter Brand Strategy Design

2013-05-02T20:57:00.001-07:00

I just loved doing this brand package. It was quite the fun challenge to combine the old with the new for this vintage decor rental business but I loved coming up with all the fun details. VEO needed a look that would be a great fit not only for wedding venues but for corporate events as well so It was important that the logo wasn't overly feminine or too rustic. And I have to say the business cards were my favorite part. I just adore how it came out. There is some art deco inspiration here as well as working with some trendy stripes. The client also asked if I could incorporate some fun patterns and textures so I ended up designing this custom fun paper pattern that will be apart of their signature look as well.

Graduation Announcement Design

2013-04-02T08:45:00.003-07:00

This is actually my graduation announcement, which I am pleased to announce! I couldn't very well graduate in graphic design without creating my own graduation invitation. There would just be something wrong with that.

I wanted the announcement to reflect my personality and my love of typography all in one, plus this was just fun to make. I thought the custom map on the back would be a nice touch as well as designing a fun custom graduation character instead of a traditional photo.

Spring Event Poster Designs 2013

2013-03-29T16:09:00.001-07:00

I really love making event posters they have such a wide range of possibilities and I also love getting to work with so much type. The top poster with the bread them was so fun to get to work in illustrator and give it kind of a logo style treatment to the design. The second was done entirely in photoshop. It was a labor of love working with all those layers and leaves but it was well worth it, don't you think?

Urban Style Wedding Announcement

2013-02-09T16:03:00.002-08:00

I have always wanted to create fun and unique wedding announcements and I was thrilled to design this one. This cute young couple just wouldn't go with your ~~boring~~ traditional wedding announcements. It just wouldn't do. So the challenge was to come up with something more modern and edgy but still says romance, It was also important to capture their personality in the design.

-Best of luck to the newlyweds!

Office Snap Inc Website Design

2013-01-21T07:00:00.000-08:00

Im very excited to finally show you guys a fun project I have been working on. This is a website design I created for Office Snap Inc, a business consulting business that specializes in helping small businesses save money and utilize tech devices.

It was important to the client that the website have a fresh look that showed personality but still remained clean and not overly cluttered. It was also very important to figure out a way to display a lot of information in a way that was easy to read and navigate through.

There was a lot of custom artwork that was required in this project, but I really enjoyed the challenge. I was also hired to create the brand identity for this company before I even got started on this website design so it was really fun getting to tie the logo design in with the website designs.

I have a huge passion in Web design and find it so dynamic and ever changing so I never get bored and am always being challenged by the latest trends and techknology. If you have a small business and are looking for a designer to create your website, I am happy to help. I create all my designs with an in depth understanding of what the business Im designing for needs and pair it with well thought out imagery and layout that is both functional and unique. My websites are of the highest quality and always memorable.

Winter Event Poster Design

2013-01-18T16:04:00.000-08:00

Its not easy coming up with a poster for a religious event for January and have it not look like Christmas. However, this turned out to be a fun poster design. I really enjoy getting to use these feminie styles and looks, plus the snowflakes give it a bit of magic that I just love.

Gone With The Wind Minimalist Movie Poster

2012-12-16T12:06:00.000-08:00

This has got to be my favorite design so far. I have been a huge fan of Gone With The Wind since I was a little girl and loved creating most of this in illustrator even though it was quite a challenge especially the "Tara" house. But it was worth it. This is definitely a print that is going up in my studio. The next movie poster Ill have to make will definitely be Pride and prejudice.

Longhorn Gum (Silent film infomercial from 1892)

2012-08-14T19:33:00.000-07:00

I started making fun short films with my family members about seven years ago. My first scripted film was with a video cassette camcorder and my two little brothers acted out a little scene and we played with different angels and such. And it has caught on from there. This year for Christmas Eve my visiting family and I put together a christmas music video to bring in the festive cheer, and it was one of our favorite memories from that Christmas. So of course you can imagine when my video editing instructor gave us the assignment to put together a three minute infomercial that we had to script, film and edit ourselves, I was up for the challenge.
This was such a fun project. And my brother, as always, was such a good sport about it, and made it made it fun to film him. I came up with the idea to make a infomercial that was a silent film set back in the late 1800's and was stuck on what I should make be the product. It just goes to show, you can do a lot with just a simple idea even a stick of gum. I designed all the titles and words including the gum packaging. I enjoyed doing the research for the time period. Even the house that we filmed at was an old hotel built in 1892. I hope you enjoy the Infomercial and remember to chew Longhorn gum or die.

Clear Day By The Bay -Poster Art

2012-08-06T09:58:00.000-07:00

This is one of my favorite graphic design pieces yet! In fact I have this framed and hanging in my living room. This was an assignment for my design fundamentals class and we were allowed to use any medium. Since I am a graphic designer I chose to use illustrator. The assignment was to create a piece of artwork that has the effect of opaque layers, like tissues overlaying each other. This was a challenge to do. First I had to build all these tiny shapes and make sure they were in the right order than I had to add a specific type of layer effect to each shape. There is also a texture added to this to help it look more vintage. I was trying to go for an old travel poster.
I chose San Francisco because my family and I went there a year ago on vacation and we absolutely loved it. Its such an artistic city, full of fascinating sites and a rich history. We were completely charmed by it all, by the end of the first day there.
I just love how this project turned out and am thinking about making this a common style of mine. I can't wait to see what I do with other cities I visit, using this technique and style.

The Lemon Project

2012-08-06T09:56:00.000-07:00

We were to add lemons to as many photos as we could my the end of the semester. The more creative the better. Here are some of my favorites that I made.
