Store Employee - So Sorry

2013-01-18T20:36:00.001-08:00

Today, I went shopping. The store employee and I started talking about the products I needed to purchase. As we were going across the isles, the employee said something. I started laughing. It was said in a cute funny way. If I hurt your feelings, I am sorry. Maybe one day you might see this.

It’s More Than a Mountain

2013-01-02T15:58:00.000-08:00

A while ago, I heard someone say. It’s just a mountain. If only they really knew.

In Matthew 5:3-10, Jesus said

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness.
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Do You Believe In Angels

2013-01-02T00:06:00.001-08:00

Everyone has a different view of what a angel is. One might have angels in heaven and others angels here on earth. Some see a hero, as a angel. A person who says the right thing or goes out of there way to help. Someone who encourages or just sits and listens. Can't forget the ones who come to our defense or the ones that protect us. They are angels to me.

Some angels don't even know that they are angels to me. I even have angels around me, and I don't even know there names. Sad to say. But I know they are there.

If you sat down, and really thought about it. You may see, the angels are around you.

Who is PayPal?

2011-05-25T20:32:00.000-07:00

Pay Pal is an online bank. It is safe and secure for sending and receiving money.

They offer many products and services.

Been using this service for many years, and haven't had any problems. When shopping online, I prefer using PayPal for checking out.

Always, remember to do your own investigation on any internet banking.

Listen to the children

2011-05-25T19:17:00.000-07:00

Received this from my mom. Not sure you wrote it. Hung it on my refrigerator and I believe it help my whole family on listening. Hope it touches you, as it has touched my heart and soul.

Listen to the children

Take a moment to listen today
To what your children are trying to say.
Listen today, whatever you do,
Or they won't be there to listen to you.

Listen to their problems, listen to their needs.
Praise their smallest triumphs, praise their smallest deeds.
Tolerate their chatter, amplify their laughter;
Find out what's the matter, find out what they're after

But tell them that you love them, every single night,
And though you scold them, make sure you hold them
And tell them everything's all right.

If we tell our children, all the bad in them we see,
They'll grow up exactly how we hoped they'd never be.
But if we tell our children we're so proud they wear our name,
They'll grow up believing they're winners in the game.

Take a moment to listen today
To what your children are trying to say;
Listen today, whatever you do,
And they will come back to listen to you.

Self Watering Garden Containers

2011-05-21T21:54:00.000-07:00

Self watering planters/containers are great for any garden. You can find them in all different sizes and styles.

Here are just a few available at Amazon.

What is a self watering containers?

Water is stored at the bottom of the container. Some just store the water and the plants roots will take in water when needed. Other systems have tubing to connect for circulating the water. Both systems should give you more days in between watering.

The best part of using planters it eliminates hours of weeding.

Planted Early Straight Neck Squash - 50 Seeds in a rectangle self water container. Just planted three seeds. The planter itself was not a fancy one. Made a trellis to support plant and squash. This worked out pretty good.

My Review: Kona Mountain 100% Kona Coffee

2011-05-20T21:48:00.000-07:00

Watch out Starbucks, 100% Kona Mountain Coffee, just might have you beat!!

I tried the medium roast, to had a smooth, dark roast taste. Found it to be the same if not better than Starbucks. The smell just perks you up!!

Retail price varies, is on the medium to high end. In my opinion this is gourmet coffee. Well worth the price tag.

Would recommend and purchase again.

Red Pontiac/Purple Majesty Potato Seeds

2011-05-02T18:38:00.000-07:00

Want to try a two different types of potato's this year.

The Red Pontiac seeds shown here are somewhat medium to large size.

You want to cut the seed in half, but make sure that each half has at least two to three eyes. Let the two halves form skin, before planting.

The Red Pontiac is a Mid-season maturing, plant. Plants have a purple flower with white petals on the top, and they will spread.

The Purple Majesty seeds here are of several sizes. Tiny seeds do not have to be cut in half. Medium/Large seeds should be cut in half, just like the Red Pontiac.

Remember when planting potato's, that the only grow above the original seed. So make sure to add soil to the top of mound, if the potato's start popping out.

Our Visit To Firgrove Veterinary Clinic

2011-04-28T11:24:00.000-07:00

Going about our morning routine, my five year old pup starts to scream!! This is a sound I never heard before and I never want to hear again. Standing there with his front leg up, dripping blood. Not only are we trying to stop bleeding, we need to find a vet that is open on Sundays.

My fingers did some clicking on the Internet. Thankfully Firgrove Veterinary Clinic in Puyallup Wa was open.

Our visit consisted of surgery, medicine, follow-ups, routine vaccinations. Found the doctors and staff to be friendly, caring, and willing to spend time with you and your pet. Even when you normally go somewhere else for animal care.

Thank you for the excellent care, would highly recommend this Firgrove Veterinary Clinic.

Below is Firgrove Veterinary Clinic website;

Our Stay At The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort

2011-03-31T22:12:00.000-07:00

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa is a short twenty minute ride, from Honolulu. You arrive to an open main lobby.

At check in they will give you a map of the resort, it will come in handy. This place is big!!

View from the fifteen floor of the Ali’i Tower.

Ali’i Tower offers its guest a private pool, whirlpool and a pool terrace. The famous Tropics Bar & Grill Waikiki Beach is located in the Ali’i Tower, on the beach front. Hawaii Five-O was film here. Pronto Pickle is small deli type restaurant, grab & go. They had sandwiches hot and cold, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, pizza, brownies, and nachos.

If you like Starbucks coffee, there are two locations at the resort. One is around the corner of the Ali’i Tower and another inside the Kalia Tower.

Many animals live at the resort.

Several pools are located in the resort. Some towers have there own pool, for the guests of that tower. The Super Pool is located outdoors near the beach, and is in the middle of the towers. Previous picture above is the pool from the 15th floor. Super Pool area, wristband is required

Paradise pool has multi-levels, four waterslides, two whirlpools and waterfalls. No matter if you go to the Super Pool, Paradise Pool, Tapa Pool, Kalia Pool, or Ali’i Pool make sure you check the hours. They are not open all day. Times vary. Towels are provided at the pool.

Atlantis Adventures leaves the pier at the Hilton Resort. Children must be 36” tall to ride the submarine.

The resorts brochure stated it has 90 retail shops and 19 restaurants. I personally didn’t count, but there are a lot of shops. Some of the restaurants were: CJ’s New York Style, Round Table, Benihana of Tokyo, Hanajuban Noodle Shop, Rainbow Lanai, Pronto Pickle, Sergio’s Italian Table, Bali Steak.

Most restaurants and retail shops will allow you to charge to your room. You need to set this up with the hotel when you get there. Don’t assume the shop will do this, ask before eating/shopping. Or just have a backup if they don’t. If you charge items to your room, it’s a good idea to check your bill everyday or every other day.

No coin laundry service. The ABC store did have small boxes of laundry soap, to wash clothes in bathtub or sink.

Traveling with Delta Airlines

2011-03-08T18:21:00.000-08:00

This was my first time traveling with Delta Airlines. Our plane was delayed by about four hours. They did have soda, peanuts, and crackers at the gate for the passengers.

It was nice that two Delta workers were at the gate. If your flight is delayed, ask for a food voucher. We received two six dollar vouchers. Once on board, everyone received the movie for free. They really did make up for the delay.

You have to pay extra for a meal on board. Our fight offered; vegetable plate (carrots, celery), and small finger sandwiches.

NO CASH TRANSACTIONS ON BOARD - MUST PAY WITH CREDIT CARD

Our Kids In School - Longer Days?

2010-10-11T18:20:00.000-07:00

Is sending our children to school for longer days the answer to America competing with the rest of the world.

I have volunteered in the public school system for several years. The classrooms had 27-32 kids to one adult, and on occasion a parent volunteer would come in to help out. Classrooms get out of control fast, no matter what grade it is. Most elementary schools assign students to classroom, not by their academic work. What I mean is, you can have students at all different levels in math, reading in one room. If you don't have students not getting what your teaching, the others complain it's to easy and are bored. BEING HELD BACK!! So much for the No Child Left Behind.

I don't think sending our sons and daughters to school for longer days or more days will work. I believe if we build more schools, hire more qualified teachers, get the class sizes down, and have two teachers in a classroom for math and reading/english will do more good.

What do you think?

Mazatlan Mexico

2010-09-09T16:51:00.000-07:00

Putting In A Pond

2010-09-03T23:19:00.000-07:00

Last year over summer vacation, my two girls got bored. They came up with the idea to put a small pond in the front yard. Sounded like a great idea, but mom has one condition. They have to do all the work themselves. After clearing it with dad, they started the work right away.

My husband and I were really surprised, that by the end of the second summer the pond was taking form. It is ready for the next step.

For this year they are finished. Time to research prices for liners, plants, and pumps. Can't forget what kind of fish to put in it.
