My younger brother turns Pro

My young brother joined the professional golf ranks yesterday. I am delighted all three of us will now be playing under the professional banner. We have all played golf for a long time now and contunue to supported each other. Good Luck Zack.

Unfortunately, one bad round out of the four was enough to see my hopes of a European Tour card disappear. Still, not to be too disappointed as I have a full Challenge Tour card for the coming season.

I am absolutely delighted to have clinched a place in the final qualifying later this week in Spain. I felt I played well all week at stage two at Sherry Golf in Jerez. However, it was pretty tight as seven on us had to return on the Sunday for a play-off for one place. Because there were seven we went out in a three and a four. I was in the first three and after getting my birdie I had to wait and watch the group of four play the hole. It was more nerve-wracking than the actual play-off itself but when none of them made birdie then that was it.

Final rounds in Italy

My third round in Italy was a bit up and down. Had an eagle, by holing my wedge on the 12th, then followed with a double bogey on the next hole. A frustrating day as hit 15 greens in regulation, with a few putts just lipping out. Finshed 2 over. Yesterday I shot 4 under to finish tied 25th. Played well, pleased that my hard work with my wedges is paying of.

Margara Golf Italy

I am playing in Italy at a Challenge tour event at the Margara Golf Club. Yesterday I played well, shooting 4 under, had 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. Today I shot 3 under, 5 birdies and 2 bogeys. Lying in 13th position and looking forward to playing at the weekend.

Tough times at the Dunhill

Played Kingsbarns on Friday and St Andrews on Saturday, in very cold and windy conditions. I took a nine at Kingsbarns and had two triples which cost me. Played solid apart from that. The weather made the courses very demanding.

Played Carnoustie today played good, gave mysef many birdie chances. Ended up with one over but fairly happy as probably the hardest course of the three to play out of the way. Playing Kingsbarns tomorrow forecast not as good as today but looking forward to the challenge.

Disappointment in Kazakhastan

Very disappointed with my score in Kazakhastan. The course reminded my of the course I played in the Russian Open so was hopeful of some good scores. My first round, got off to a good start was 3 under, but finished badly dropping 3 shots for level par. The second round, was the opposite, off to a bad start 5 over for first 4 holes, finished with two birdies for 3 over. Unfortunately not low enough. Congratulations to my older brother Elliot who successfully came through first round of European Qualifying Tour School today.

Now in Kazakhastan

I didn't hit the ball well of the tee in my second round. Only hitting three fairways which doesn't help when trying to score. Had to play my last three holes on Friday morning as play was disrupted due to bad weather. Finished seven over, four over for the tournament. Arrived in Kazakhastan this morning at five am. Not going to go to bed just play a practice round after breakfast. Then have an early night.

Qingdao Golf Open First Round

Played my first round in China this morning. Tee'd of at 8.30am We are 8 hours ahead of Britain.
Played the back 9 first, was one over after playing the first two holes, birdied the par 5 then went on to have 4 birdies on the front 9 and a bogey. Finishing 3 under for my round. I had been unwell the day before, so had a light breakfast this morning and tried to drink as much as possible while out on the course. Teeing off tomorrow at 1.30pm.

The Johnnie Walker Championship

Played my first nine holes in one over par. Birdied the 10th to get back to level. Had a bogey on the 12th and a double bogey on the 15th due to three putting. The greens were rather bouncy. My second round I was two under through 7 holes but lost too many shots round the greens. Finishing
three over. Very disappointed to miss the cut. Next week I leave for China and then on to Kazakhstan to play Challenge Tour events.

SAS Masters Sweden

Sorry for the delay in updating my website. Played the SAS Masters in Sweden last week. Really didnt hit the ball well, only hit six greens in regualtion so that speaks for itself. Unfortunately missed the cut. Good news, I have received an invite to play in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles next week. Really looking forward to playing there.

The weather didnt improve any for my second round, I shot 3 over, 5 over in total to miss the cut. Off to Sweden in two weeks. Looking forward to playing in another European tour event.

Wet start in Glasson

As I tee'd off at 1.50pm for my first round, the heavens opened and heavy rain continued for the rest of the day. The earlier tee times definitely had an advantage. I had an up and down round, finished two over so a good under par score tomorrow will see me playing at the weekend.

Back from Russia, off to Ireland

Great start in Moscow today

Started today with six birdies through the first 9 holes. Went on to have another 2 birdies to make me 8 under for today but unfortunately dropped a shot on the 17th and 18th to finish 6 under for todays round. 11 under for the tournament. Very please with my game today. It was a little windy but another lovely day in Moscow. I am currently lying 9th.

Another fine day in Russia

Another beautiful day in Moscow. Shot two under, five under in total for my two rounds. I had sixteen pars and two birdies. Felt I played well just a few putts sat on the edge of some holes for tap ins. Looking forward to playing the weekend as the cut was two under.

First Round in Russian Open

Lovely day in Moscow today. The course is great. Very tree lined with water coming into play on six holes. I hit sixteen greens in regulation and putted well. Felt I played very solid. Shot 69, 3 under for the round.

Russian Open

I have just arrived in Moscow today as playing in the Russian Open (a European Tour event). Play starts on Thursday, so for the next two days I will be playing practice rounds and getting used to the pace of the greens.

Loch Lomand

Thoroughly enjoyed playing the Scottish Open at Loch Lomand. Disappointed with my first nine holes in the first round, but played well the back nine. Happy with my second round of 69 only having 27 putts. All the hard work on my short game is starting to pay off. It was great to share the experience with my younger brother Zack who caddied for me. We worked well together but just came up short of making the cut.

Good News whilst in Lyon

Play was delayed the first day due to torrential rain, so I played two rounds on Friday. Looking at my stats I had eleven birdies for the two rounds but four disastrous holes cost me dearly. I shot six over the first round and 3 under the second round. The cut was four under.
Whilst away I received some great news, I had received a Sponsors Invite to play in the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomand next week.

In my second round at Cadrona i felt my putting sroke was so much better, but unfortunately could only manage 1 under, to miss the cut. Looking forward to next week, where I am off to Lyon to play in a Challenge Tour event.

Cadrona Peebles

Tee'd off today at 8.50am. I Birdied the first but putted poorly finishing 5 over. The conditions were tough with gusting winds. It took our group two and a half hours to play 6 holes due to the players looking for balls in the rough. Teeing off at 1.45pm tomorrow. Elliot shot 2 over. He recovered well after taking a 9 on the first hole! He is off at 2.10pm tomorrow.

Disappointment in St Omer

Unfortunately I missed the cut. The cut went to 5 over. I putted better but still disappointed to shoot 3 over. I will be practising hard on my putting this week as playing the Challenge tour event at Cadrona, Peebles the week after, looking forward to playing on home turf.
