The elm tree in our driveway seems to have escaped the disease that has ravaged most of our elm trees. Right now, the bees are all over the tree. I can't remember so much bee activity around the tree.

A sunny afternoon after a very foggy morning. Trust eranthis to give us a brilliant smile. The bees were out and about.

The snowdrops got their share of visits from the bees.

I too was encouraged to venture out. More seeds were sown though the pots will be indoors until the outdoors temperature gets warmer.

I inspected the beehives today and all three hives seem to be thriving. There is still plenty of feed so I can take it easy for a week or so. I am extra vigilant because I am in charge now. Jørgen has become allergic to the bee sting so he stays as far away from the bees as he can. That means I must be on top of things. As for Jørgen, he is equipped with an adrenalin injection and som pills. The thing is, the danger is there whether we keep bees in our garden or not.

We are so proud to be able to say that our onions are still in stock. So far out in winter and we are cooking our meals using onions from our vegetable garden.

From humble beginnings indeed but what exquisite meals start off with this ingredient! I dare say many a chef's most prized meals do contain onions.
