الحب .. هو رزقٌ من عند الله، بعضه فطرى يغشى الله به بعض عباده وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِنِّي ،وبعضه مكتسب يسعى الإنسان إلى الاستزادة منه .

أما الأول فهو منحة من الله وفضل، وأما الثانى فهو عبادة يتقرب بها العبد إلى ربه، فهو عزوجل يأمرنا بالحب ويدعونا إليه، فهو مفتاح الجنة " لاَ تَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا وَلاَ تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا" ، و " لاَ يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ" ، وإن الله ليحب المحبين لحبهما ويثيبهما عليه أمناً وظلاً يوم لا ظل إلا ظله " وَرَجُلاَنِ تَحَابَّا فِى اللَّهِ" ، كما أنه سبحانه لا يفرق المحبين يوم القيامة " المَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ" .
بل وأكثر من ذلك أن جعل سبحانه وتعالى الحب منتهى الإيمان وغاية الغايات فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ ، بل ويغبط النبيون والشهداء المتحابين على منازلهم عند الله " المُتَحَابُّونَ فِي جَلالِي لَهُمْ مَنَابِرُ مِنْ نُورٍ يَغْبِطُهُمْ النَّبِيُّونَ وَالشُّهَدَاءُ " .
وعليه .. فإن ملاك الأمر أولاً وآخراً هو الحب، ولا إبحار فى سعادات الدنيا والآخرة إلا بقارب الحب ..

وينبغي أن تكون محاولات الإنسان في سبيل الدين أشق وأطول من محاولاته في سبيل العلوم والصناعات . لأن حقيقة الكون الكبرى أشق مطلباً وأطول طريقاً من حقيقة هذه الأشياء المتفرقة التي يعالجها العلم تارة والصناعة تارة أخرى .
وقد جهل الناس شأن الشمس الساطعة ، وهي أظهر ما تراه العيون وتحسه الأبدان ، ولبثوا إلى زمن قريب يقولون بدورانها حول الأرض ، ويفسرون حركاتها وعوارضها كما يفسر الألغاز والأحلام . ولم يخطر لأحد أن ينكر وجود الشمس لأن العقول كانت في ظلام من أمرها فوق ظلام . ولعلها لا تزال .
فالرجوع إلى أصل الأديان في عصور الجاهلية الأولى لا يدل على بطلان التدين ، ولا على أنها تبحث عن محال . وكل ما يدل عليه أن الحقيقة الكبرى أكبر من أن تتجلى للناس كاملة شاملة في عصر واحد؛ وأن الناس يستعدون لعرفانها عصراً بعد عصر ، وطوراً بعد طور . واسلوباً بعد أسلوب ، كما يستعدون لعرفان الحقائق الصغرى ، بل على نحو أصعب وأعجب من استعدادهم لعرفان هذه الحقائق التي يحيط بها العقل ويتناولها الحس والعيان .
وقد أسفر علم المقابلة بين الأديان عن كثير من الضلالات والأساطير التي آمن بها الإنسان الأول ، ولا تزال لها بقية شائعة بين القبائل البدائية ، أو بين أمم الحضارة العريقة . ولم يكن من المنظور أن يسفر هذا العلم عن شيء غير ذلك ، ولا أن تكون الديانات الأولى على غير ما كانت عليه من الضلالة والجهالة . فهذه هي وحدها النتيجة المعقولة التي لا يترقب العقل نتيجة غيرها . وليس في هذه النتيجة جديد يستغربه العلماء ، أو يبنون عليه جديداً في الحكم على جوهر الدين . فإن العالم الذي يخطر له أن يبحث في الأديان البدائية ليثبت أن الأولين قد عرفوا الحقيقة الكونية الكاملة منزهة عن شوائب السخف والغباء ، إنما يبحث عن محال . . . ) .
