A filter device is that used to allow or stop selected frequencies, or eliminate (filter out) any unwanted signals. In more technical, an RF filter is designed to allow attenuation or transmission of range of frequencies that would be applied. For an example, an RF filter helps to cut out RF interference (generally noise) that could occur if a hairdryer or lamp or else any noisy device is activated. RF filter used in different scenarios as per the requirement. Normally, there are basic four types of RF filters available in market.

High pass filter – It allows only higher frequencies, this done by allocating a cut off frequency which has a value of low frequency that can be allowed. In description it attenuates any low frequency.

Low pass filter – It’s just the opposite of High pass filter, it allows all the frequency which is below cut off frequency, but it attenuates any frequency above cut off frequency.

Band pass filter – It will allow the frequency only between the selected ranges with no attenuation. Although it will attenuate above or below frequencies than the desire frequency range. Great examples for band pass filter are cavity filters, surface acoustic wave and crystal filters. As the picture below describe a combination of high and low will result in pass band frequency range.

Band stop (reject) filter – It will attenuate a frequency range by allowing all the other frequencies to pass without attenuated. In industry it worth to use band pass filter than a band reject filter.

Filtering plays a vital role in Cellular transmission and satellite communication etc. Filtering out unwanted signals will allow the transmission successful rate to be high. Which significantly allows SNR (Signal to noise ratio) to be high. In more detail if signal level is higher than the noise, message will be more clearly deliver to receiver. For example consider, in a house in one room a boy watching TV and in another room another boy listening to radio if they keep the door open, both sounds will clash and both of them cannot enjoy the shows. If they close the door and watch TV or listen to radio interference will be low content they wanted will be clearer. Same applies in RF communication when noise is high message won’t be clearer or sometimes it will be completely distorted. In order to avoid this type of loss of signal or distortion filter is used to avoid noise or any interference caused to the original message signal.

This is a common problem to most of us. When we register in different different web sites, they will sent some newsletters, updates, offers every time. Sometimes this is a big issue. And this unwanted emails will full your gmail account. And deleting deleting them as easy as following...

First Log into your gmail account.

Then click the tab that you want to clear (I selected my Forums tab)

Now select first 50 emails by select all function.

After you select first 50 email you can see there is a message as follows. So click that to select your all email that in your selected tab.

Now hit delete to do the magic.

Now your seleted tab is clean. And it will ask for confirmation, click OK.

Repeat this to other tabs as your wish.

PHP Simple Contact Us Form

In this post I’ll show how to design a contact us form using PHP language. And this can send the form details that the user types to any type of email.

So first thing first. You needed to design the main page that contain the fields that you want to get from the user. And here my main page is main.html,

NOTE – “_id” attribute will be an auto incremental value so no need to insert it. And here you can insert any type of data by using the “put” command. Just make sure you put correct type of data to correct table column.

NOTE – Using Cursor class you can load the values that was generated by the query. These queries are normal mysql commands. In here you need to change the command based on the type of the data.

**here x represent the column number which begins from 0.

SQLite Android JAVA Tutorial 02 – Connecting to DB & Create a table

Connecting to DB :

First you need to import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase,

import android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase;

Now within the main class create a variable using SQLiteDatabase class. Using that variable we are going to do create OR open a database called “testDB”. If the “testDB” is previously created then it will open. And if the “testDB” not found the it will be created and open it.

The following JAVA program shows how to do that.

Same as connecting to DB, using SQLiteDatabase variable (db) can create a table in that DB (“testDB”). It only create the table only if the table is not exist.

And the data types that you can use are,

NULL. The value is a NULL value.
INTEGER. The value is a signed integer, stored in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 bytes depending on the magnitude of the value.
REAL. The value is a floating point value, stored as an 8-byte IEEE floating point number.
TEXT. The value is a text string, stored using the database encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16BE or UTF-16LE).
BLOB. The value is a blob of data, stored exactly as it was input.

Introduction :

First I’ll give you a brief introduction about this SQLite, so SQLite is a very small software library. It is a server less and less configuration (actually zero) SQL database engine. But it supports terabyte sized databases and gigabyte sized strings and blobs. And supported by systems like Linux, Mac OS-X, Android, iOS, Win32, WinCE, WinRT.

Requirements & Installation :

For our case I uses SQLite with JAVA so Java must be set up on the machine where you write your coding uses eclipse on windows. You can install JAVA from their site (www.java.com). If you’re not installed eclipse, you can do that with the help of THIS post. I recommend eclipse because it is very easy to use and there a lots of support in the internet. And you don’t need to worry about any libraries because eclipse already loaded with them.

Turn Your computer into a WiFi Access point / Hotspot in ubuntu linux

This guide will help you to turn your Laptop or wireless LAN capable desktop in to the hotspot. You already know Ubuntu OS has this feature , but it is working as Ad-Hoc hotspot which cannot connect be connect your android smart phone, I Phone, DLNA TV or any other wireless device with your computer.

But this solution will work only for Atheros type wireless adapters and make sure you have the driver ath5k,ath9k,ath9k_htc , but don’t worry most of wireless adapters are atheros

1. You can find your driver by typing this command

sudo lshw | less

You can see at the bottem mine is ath9k_htc

2. You can check weather your wirless card supports AP mode with hotspad or not by this command

iw list

if it lists AP in "Supported interface modes" you can proceed.

3. Now we need to install 2 additional tools to craete a hotspot

hotspad (hotspot server)
dnsmasq(dns dhcp server)

to install type in terminal

sudo apt-get install hostpad dnsmasq

4. You must stop these services before you proceed

sudo service hostapd stop
sudo service dnsmasq stop

5. And disable these starting on system startup

sudo update-rc.d hostapd disable
sudo update-rc.d dnsmasq disable

6. We need to add following lines to bottem of dnsmasq.conf file

sudo gedit /etc/dnsmasq.conf

# Bind to only one interface
bind-interfaces
# Choose interface for binding
interface=wlan0
# Specify range of IP addresses for DHCP leasses
dhcp-range=192.168.150.2,192.168.150.10

you can change the DHCP range as you wish

7. We need to create hostapd.conf file

sudo gedit /etc/hostapd.conf

add these lines

# Define interface
interface=wlan0
# Select driver
driver=nl80211
# Set access point name
ssid=rocknirmana
# Set access point harware mode to 802.11g
hw_mode=g
# Set WIFI channel (can be easily changed)
channel=6
# Enable WPA2 only (1 for WPA, 2 for WPA2, 3 for WPA + WPA2)
wpa=2
wpa_passphrase=12345678

you can change the ssid by replacing “rocknirmana” at the 6th line and change the password by replacing the “12345678” at the bottom line

8. Now create file named start.sh in anywhere in your directories , i created it in my home folder

sudo gedit /home/username/start.sh

replace your username with “username” and type following code in start.sh and save it

sudo ifconfig wlan0 192.168.150.1
# Start DHCP/DNS server
sudo service dnsmasq restart
# Enable routing
sudo sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

# Run access point daemon
sudo hostapd /etc/hostapd.conf
# Stop
# Disable NAT
sudo iptables -D POSTROUTING -t nat -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE
# Disable routing
sudo sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward=0
# Disable DHCP/DNS server
sudo service dnsmasq stop
sudo service hostapd stop

you need to change ppp0 in 10th and 15th line with your internet connection interface , you can check your internet connected interface by “ifconfig” command , i’m using mobile broadband therefor every mobile broadband uses point to point protocol , so mine is ppp0,

example
eth0 for ethernet 0

8. Finallay you have to run this script manually to start the hotspot by typing

sudo sh /home/username/start.sh

Replace your username with “username”

Install Flash Player

Normally cannonical doesn't ship latest adobe flashplayer with their latest distribution, therefor you need to install it manuallay

you can download the latest flashplayer from get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and select ".tar.gz for other linux"

extract it

tar -zxvf install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz

change directory into the extracted folder

cd install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64

copy libflashpalyer.so into the browser plugin page ex. firefox

sudo cp libflashpalyer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

or you can simply search "adobe flash" in ubuntu software center and install it

2. Install VLC media Player

   VLC is one of the best Media Player for linux or windows
   in terminal

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc

3. Install Ubuntu Tweak Tool

Ubuntu tweak tool is must have software for ubuntu users, the most powerful feature of the tweak tool is "janitor" you can clean your computer using janitor and also you can change themes and settings

What is a broadcast message?

If you want to send some message to every node on your network, that is a broadcast message.

What UDP?

With UDP, computer applications can send messages, in this case referred to as datagrams, to other hosts on an Internet Protocol (IP) network without prior communications to set up special transmission channels or data paths. UDP uses a simple transmission model with a minimum of protocol mechanism. It has no handshaking dialogues, and thus exposes any unreliability of the underlying network protocol to the user's program.

So How to design it?

Assume that there is 1 sever node and some several client nodes. Server node is the one who broadcasting message. Clients are getting those messages. So here are code parts,

Microsoft Office 2010 Installation in Ubuntu

You Probably have worked with Microsoft office suite then you know the strength of the Microsoft office package. No doubt Libre office ond Open office are the best open source options for the Microsoft office but you may more friendlier with microsoft version than others, You may miss your favorite office suite since you have being using Linux.

This guide will help you to install Office 2010 in your Linux system (Mine is Ubuntu 13.04). But you need followings to get it done

•   Office 2010 32bit
•   Latest version of Wine emulator, ver 1.6
•   .NetFramework 2.0 32bit

First you need to install wine. If you are a Linux user i think you already know what the Wine is, simply it is an emulator to run windows programs in Linux.

1. Install latest version of the Wine

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install wine

Launch "winecfg" and in Application tab Select "Windows Version" as windows XP

2. If you are using 64bit version Ubuntu you need to configure Wine to work with 32bit environment because Office 2010 only works with 32 installation.

So first you need delete default wine folder with this command. If you ask for sudo type it before the command.

$ rm -r ~/.wine

created 32 bit prefix with this command

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine winecfg

You can see wine reconfigures the settings. For more help follow askubuntu

3. Launch Winetricks from your applications. If you you have a problem launching it in 13.04 in terminal type. And here is the guide for creating launcher for winetricks askubuntu

winetricks –-gui

4. Select “Select the default wineprefix ” and click “OK”

5. Next Select “Install a Windows DDL or component” and click “OK”

6. Next Select “msxml6” and hit “OK”

7. Go back and Select ” Install a Font” and “OK”

8. Next Select “corefonts” hit “OK” install windows core fonts

9. You need to Install .NET framework 2.0 manually. Installing it in above

method didn’t work for me. You can download it form Here and open with "Wine Windows Program Loader" install it manually

10. Launch “winecfg” and select “Libraries” tab select "*msxml6 (native, built-in)" from Existing_overrides and edit and select “Native Windows”

11. Now add the "riched20" and "gdiplus" from the section "New override for libraries" and also set them as native.

12. Right Click on your Office 2010 Setup.exe file and open with "Wine Windows Program Loader" install it manually. And Follow the steps you follow generally in windows environment to install it.

13. After the successful installation you can search in your Unity dash or if not type these commands in terminal to launch

$ wine "C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office14/excel.exe"

$ wine "C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office14/winword.exe"

$ wine "C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office14/powerpnt.exe"

O.K. like I said in my previous post, B.A.T.M.A.N. need an interface to run.so in this post we gone a cover that part.

First you need to check your current interface by using this command,

iwconfig

If you see wlan0 there you are ready to go. But if you doesn’t see make sure Wi-Fi is enabled. And identified your Wi-Fi interface.

I made a small script that all the necessary commands needed to active B.A.T.M.A.N.

You can put this script (it’s a sh file) in /usr/local/sbin/ and execute it any ware you in.

By typing,

rockman.sh start

When you want to stop B.A.T.M.A.N. just type,

rockman.sh stop

And if you need help,

rockman.sh --help

Now it’s running. You can see batman is flying over your head. Ha Ha Ha…

If you type “dmesg” you see some packets are sending time to time. Or you can monitor those packets (DHCP REQUESTS) via wireshark. Try that also.

And you can check current connected nodes using this command,

batctl o

If you have connected to other nodes try to ping to those nodes. If you do so your network is established.

Here is some additional but useful part by using B.A.T.M.A.N. protocol.

If one node has internet connectivity you can share it among others. Yes other nodes can access internet through that internet node. By using this commands,

dhclient bat0

B.A.T.M.A.N. protocol for Ubuntu(Linux) Part-1

My current operating system is Ubuntu 12.10

And you need a Wi-Fi feature in your lap or pc in order to do this.

And internet connection.

First you started with this command.

apt-get update

Because you needed latest repositories for implement B.A.T.M.A.N. in Ubuntu environment.

apt-get install linux-headers-'*'

And you need to install linux headers ,gcc ,g++.

apt-get install g++ gcc

Now download the B.A.T.M.A.N. source files from these links. There are two files you needed to be downloaded,

1. batman-adv ==> folder that contain B.A.T.M.A.N. protocol files.

2. batctl ==>a tool to control B.A.T.M.A.N.

After download, extract them in whatever the place you want. (But remember the place).

tar xzvf filename.tar.gz

Now go to batman-adv directory and type “make”. This will generate some files according to your running kernel. And check batman-adv.ko file is generated by that command. Because that’s the file we need.

After that go to batctl directory and type “make”. Now some files must create without any errors if you done everything correctly. And make sure batctl file is generated during the process.

Now you need to find out what kernel module is loded currently.So for that you need to type the following command.

uname –r

Now change you folder path to the current loaded kernel module folder. Which in my case is this.

cd /usr/src/linux-headers-3.5.0-17-generic

Type “make xconfig”

And “make menuconfig”

And also “make oldconfig”

For those leave default values.

Now move into batman-adv folder and type this,

modprobe batman-adv

You can use “insmod batman-adv.ko” instead this command. But this command is much more advance than insmod command. So my recommend is to use modprobe command.

If this command compiled without any single errors you are doing good. But if you uncounted any errors. Please inform me.And I’ll help you.

You can check whether batman loaded or not using this command

dmesg

It reads a log and show them.if you can see “batman_adv:B.A.T.M.A.N. advanced 2013.1.0 (compatibility version 14) loaded. “Then you are ready to do next step.

Now B.A.T.M.A.N. is loaded .But it needed an interface to send/receive packets. So in my next post I’ll show how that’s going to do.so stay tuned.\m/

        Before we begin you need to download following tool and the theme packs, and icon packs

1.Install Unity Tweak Tool
   In terminal type

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:freyja-dev/unity-tweak-tool-daily
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install unity-tweak-tool

2.Blue icon pack
Gnome-look.org Clarity mono dark

3.Install following Theme packs
In Terminal Type

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/themes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install zoncolor-themes
sudo apt-get install ambiance-blue
sudo apt-get install zoncolor-icons

4.Open the Unity Tweak and go to the Theme in Appearance category change
your theme to whatever you want

5. Open your Home folder and ctrl+h to display the hidden folders and copy

the downloaded "Clarity-mono-dark" icon pack to the ".icons" folder

6. Open the Unity Tweak and go to the Icons in Appearance category change

select "Clarity-mono-dark" or whatever you like and your done

Installing Mobile Partner in Ubuntu

You can plug and play your Huawei 3G dongle in Ubuntu or most linux systems without installing any third party driver software. But you cannot send SMS from your Huawei device which is capable.

Mobile Partner is Windows based driver software for Huawei 3G dongles. using this software we can send SMS and view usage graph of the device, but unfortunately usage graph is not working in linux based systems, but you can send SMS

There are newer mobile partner versions also available for huawei devices with various features available on you modem such as USSD, calling and vediocalling facility, i tried those versions also and failed but 16.0

1.you can download 16.0 from here click

2.extract the zip file

3. go to the extracted folder using command line

cd /<your extracted Linux folder>

4.Type "ls" and there should be file "install" and if it doesn't have executable

permissions give permissions by

chmod a+wrx install

5.Then install the software by typing

sudo ./install

enter your password if it asks

6. It ask for the installation path

Please input the install path[/usr/local/Mobile_Partner]:

just hit enter to install it in default path and if you want different type full path

and hit enter

5. It may shows "installing NDIS driver failed" just ignore it and hit enter

6. search mobile partner in Dash Home and click to run it enjoy and to recognize

the device you need to disconnect the device if connected using ubuntu

network manager

Oracle 11g Installation on Fedora 14 (Part 3 - Installing DBCA)

Go to /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/bin & run dbca.

After installing DBCA, you can open “/etc/oratab” file and see your SID and ORACLE_HOME path.

To get “SQL >” prompt, first you have to set your SID correctly and issue the command “sqlplus “/ as sysdba”.

OK I'll show how to install oracle on Linux environment.So for this I uses Oracle 11g and Fedora 14x64.So in this post I'll explain about what are the requirements and pre configurations that you need before install oracle on fedora.
Hardware Requirements

1 GB of RAM ( minimum )
More than 3.5 GB hard disk space
Swap space requirement

On Linux x86 and Linux x86-64:

Increasing the swap space temporally ( on LVM2 Logical Volume )

After adding additional storage to the swap space's volume group, it is now possible to extend it. To do so, perform the following procedure (assuming /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 is the volume you want to extend by 256MB):

Disable swapping for the associated logical volume:

 swapoff -v /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01

Resize the LVM2 logical volume by 256 MB:

 lvresize /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 -L +256M

Format the new swap space:

 mkswap /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01

Enable the extended logical volume:

 swapon -v /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01

To test if the logical volume was successfully extended, use cat /proc/swaps or free to inspect the swap space.

Other requirements

Add the following lines to the "/etc/security/limits.conf" file

   oracle soft nproc 2047

Create new groups and users

After you upgrade to Windows 8, you might have some trouble regarding connecting your 3G modem.These are some troubles that can occurs,

Windows 8 not recognizes your 3G modem drivers when you connect the device.
Windows 8 taking you 3G modem drivers correctly but after few minutes it will disconnect(device will automatically disconnected).

I assume that your 3G modem worked in previous windows versions (Windows 7/Vista/XP).
So the solution is download the latest mobile partner.

But Mobile Partner 23.009.09.00.983 removes some features like USSD,call,connection history,MMS features.I don't why but I hope these features will available soon.But you still have options like SMS,phonebook.So don't worry.

Installing iTunes on Ubuntu Linux

Installing iTunes 10.2.0 on Ubuntu 12.10 via Playonlinux 4.1.9

Playonlinux is a front end software for installing windows softwares on Linux based operating system.

First download the playonlinux app and the wine packages which is available on Ubuntu software Center
Download the iTunes 10.2.0 from following link. Why10.2.0, this versions 32bit works for me without any problems. I tried 11 and 10.6 versions but failed. http://download-euro.oldapps.com/iTunes/iTunesSetup102.exe
After installing the playonlinux and wine packages click on the install button in playonlinux main window

4.Select "install a program in new virtual machine" from the next window

5.Give any name you want to your virtual drive i named it "iTunes10.2"

6.Select "32bit windows Installation" It is necessary to select right bit version of your .exe file

7.Then Browse and give the path of your "iTunes10.2.0.exe" file and next

8.Now It is coming to the installation part of the iTunes and the follow the normal installation process as you do in windows

9. Now you are almost done. Be careful to not to close to itunes window until the shortcuts are created
10.Minimize iTunes window and select the 'configure' icon in the playonlinux window

11.Select your Virtual drive from the left side of the configuration window and select the "Select the new shortcut from this virtual drive.

12.Browse and select the select the iTunes.exe.

13.Select "i don't want another shortcut" and next.

14.Close everything and click on the shortcut you created. Now you have iTunes on Ubuntu...
P.S. there are some errors also. Don't expect the every features of the itunes and its performances as it is.
