Pineapple Project

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Mon, 25 Aug 2014 17:31:00 +1000

Long time no blog. I have spent far too much time putting my attention on the non-creative jobs in my life. Time to get back to this blog!

Some people do Yoga, or jog, or meditate - and I do love all three of these stress relievers. But when I play with my pineapples and coloured fabrics - I completely de-stress!
Just thought I'd share. I'm into colour and fun. So maybe that could be it.

Today I have included a few photos from my fabric collection.

Hopefully the photos of the actual fabric will give others a better feel for what the colours really look like and a couple of projects too.

First up is my Pineapple Royal Blue.
See Here to buy: http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/2810396

I’ve placed a 8.4fl.oz (250ml) handpump cream to give you an idea of the size of the pineapples.

Each pineapple from tip of the spike to the base of the pineapple is 11.5cm or 4 & a bit (17/32) inches long or 4cm (1 & a bit (37/64) inches wide)

The blue is a real royal blue colour.

Next is the Hot Pink Pineapple.
Which I will rename a sort of vintage dusty pink.
Its not really a hot pink as such. Even though it 'looks' hot pink in the image with the L'Occitane hand cream (very nice creamy, moisturising and not sticky, hand cream I must say :) )

See here to buy: http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/2810386

And the image above shows you the difference in my pineapple sizes.
The turquoisey, greeeeeeeny, blueeeeey, mini pineapples were the from the first batch I put out.
Titled : Pineapple Mania Vintage.

See here to buy: http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/924841

Oh, and here is where you can buy all these groovy pineapples from. In case I haven't mentioned it already too many times above.

Please do drop me a line! I'd love to hear from you.

Really, honestly truly - Any questions. Or just a chat.
This is my hobby and I'm having fun with it.

Coloured chests

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Sat, 28 Apr 2012 13:04:00 +1000

My post for today includes French provincial style coloured dressers. These above are from one of my favourite sites, www.mybid.com.au. I have been a bit reluctant to share this site, as it such a great find.

If you love French provincial style, with a bit of quirky colour, you may like www.moissonnier.com.

It is renowned to be the manufacturer of the best coloured chest of drawers in the world, since 1885.

As I continue to dream about my south coast beach house, I am always on the lookout for all things ‘Beachy’ to decorate this fantasy house of mine. I found this gorgeous Australian website; www.escapetoparadise.com.au which features cushions and bags all in the South Sea Isle theme.

I also added this dreamy photo of Rachel Ashwell in her seaside house in California.

Luxurious holidays are like a glorious heaven on earth.

They’re more than escaping the everday.

A good holiday is like real love.

Something that touches your heart.

You can’t explain exactly why you feel the way you do.

And it catches you by surprise.

You realise you are smiling, without any original intent to do so.

The desire to be with your special person can overwhelm you and override all logic or other sense of clarity.

And the memory of it stays with you for a lifetime.

The night before Christmas Eve

It’s the night before Christmas Eve and the city is buzzing with last minute shoppers, scrambling to find those Christmas gifts that they meant to get months and weeks or days ago. Everyone in mad rush before the treck home, to ensure no need to shop tomorrow on Saturday, Christmas Eve.

It’s before a busy couple of days of family, friends, gatherings, cooking, food and resting, because we will have all eaten too much. Travel to more family and friends, more eating and resting along with all the giving and receiving of gifts.

I love this time year. It's a time to reflect and learn. Then plan and look forward to the next year.

I have six Christmas pictures which I feel are a lovely fresh feel for a Christmas day in the northern hemisphere, where I can only dream about having a white Christmas. One day maybe.

Merry Christmas and happy 2012 from Lilly xxx

Ethereal White & Pretty

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Fri, 4 Nov 2011 17:30:00 +1100

I have had the first picture above of the white table and setting for a while and so I began a search as to where I originally found it. To my absolute delight I discovered it from a gorgeous pretty Turkish blog
http://ustagiremez.blogspot.com by Arzu.
It is full of the prettiest pictures, all white with lots of light and space.

Hooked on Pink

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Tue, 20 Sep 2011 16:27:00 +1000

Both practical and pretty. This 'storm' pink front door posted by Sherry on http://www.younghouselove.com/

Of course this month's September 2011 issue of 'home beautiful' reveals all things pretty, practical and pink. Their website is great too! Loads of renovating and decorating ideas.

I just love these floor-to-ceiling glass doors, opening directly to the outdoors.

The light fixture is by Kevin Reilly, and the antique wing chairs by Philippe Hurel, are upholstered in Bennison fabric. The gorgeous pink and white chairs were featured in Elle Decor.

This is the interior of Hoteliers, Kit and Tim Kemp’s London townhouse.

Of course there's Anna Spiro's own interiors from her blog http://www.absolutelybeautifulthings.com/ and her fabulous devinely gorgeous items from http://www.blackandspiro.com/.

Spring is ...Pretty in Pink?

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Mon, 5 Sep 2011 16:42:00 +1000

As the Camellia petals fall..(forgot to 'crop out' the bins in the background).

...in come all the pretty pink blossoms.

OK, not so pretty graffiti on that green box thing?

I wanted to keep a record of the pretty streets of Mosman in Spring. For a short time pink blossom trees appear around every second street. And, as you may have guessed, these are Camellias.

It's just warm enough to take off my shoes and start running barefoot in the park.

Pink pillow over a chair I recently painted white.

Fresh flowers at my desk.

And one of the prettiest pinks of all is this Artel-Sakura Cherry Blossom Bowl :http://blog.hgtv.com/design/?s=Artel-sakura+cherry+bowl

My First Fabric Designs

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Mon, 22 Aug 2011 17:29:00 +1000

First look at my 'Bumble Bee' design on white linen/cotton.

My 'bird' blob folding experiment?

The 'Bumble Bee' (brick) layout white fine 100% cotton.

My first foray into fabric design.
I do like my Bumble Bees although I will take out the black lines in between each Bee. Will this design printed onto the upholstery linen/cotton fabric.
The 100% cotton was just a bit too fine in thickness.

Not so sure about my 'blob' experient? The colours are just a tad too 'quiet' for me. The background on my bird blog pattern is a dull grey/blue.

Next step is to get a 'brick layout' with the red background and yellow background. Think I may try for another colour or two.

I'm already thinking pineapples and birds...

More soon from Lillyxx

Beautiful Camellias everywhere

The weather has been so beautiful it feels like summer is just around the corner.

These warm days have brought back happy memories and its as though there's a good feeling in the air.

Blue Mountains

noreply@blogger.com (Interiors, Decorating and Design) — Mon, 13 Jun 2011 14:28:00 +1000

A few pics from my day in the Blue Mountains.

We planned to go bushwalking in the mountains, rain hail or shine.

I left home on Sunday morning and this was the view outside my window - it was bucketing down!

After leaving Sydney's torrential downpour we arrived to mostly clear skies and some fog at Wentworth Falls.

The six of us took to the 'undercliff' and 'overcliff' walks with amazing views of water-falls and rainforest.

After stomping through mud and slush, we finally relaxed at the hut cafe and took the very short 10min track back to the car park for some shopping in Leura.

And just some of the lovely stores outside and in.

A beautiful scented candle available in one of the many stores in Leura.
