You know, I really do prefer eyeshadow palettes than eyeshadow singles for many reasons.
It's usually cheaper to get them in palettes then customize your own single shadows.
Also, it's more portable and travel friendly.
It's also better for beginners to start from palettes (duos/trios/quads) as it compiles matching and coordinating colours together. ;)
The most important thing I look for in an eyeshadow is: price factor, pigmentation (including how vibrant the colours are & if they make your eyes pop/stand out), staying power, blendability.
Did I miss out anything?

Anyway, my point is this. I notice alot of beginners out there and for most of them, they usually focus and seem to be more interested in eyeshadows.
*my preference is still concealer and mascara btw and among all items, i can forgo eyeshadows the most.
And I must say that, there are many eyeshadows out there that are expensive but offers hardly any pigmentation (so darn chalky) and barely even stays on your lids! Some of them, when you blend, it dissappears into chalk like colours (just like if you were to take a coloured chalk and draw it all over your eye)

That being said, I just wanna do some swatches posts so others can learn if the product will be to your liking or not.
I hope that these sort of posts could help readers to decide what to expect from their new eyeshadows.

Yes, well I've reviewed one of the palette combination before.

Here are the swatches:

Only 5 swatches though the palette comes with 6 colours.
The white is similar to the one I've swatched in the blue palette.

Overall, I think that this palette is really not bad for RM 5.
It's pigmented (I think the blue one is more vibrant than this purple one), lasting power is there, and it's blendable.

My conclusion?
If you are looking for a blue eyeshadow palette, drop by Daiso and grab the blue one from this line.
Totally worth it!
As for purple, its not bad, but it just doesn't make my eye pop as much when I use the blue palette.
*i'm not bias towards colours, trust me. in fact, my favourite colour is purple :P

Warehouse Sales

I was only planning to go to Guardian's Warehouse Sale today but when Connie from Skin Deco posted up about i Nuovi's Warehouse Sale as well, I knew I had to find a way to drop a visit.

*if you are using Google Map for directions, please take note that there is an error. Google Map tells you to turn right at this turning which you'll notice is a no entry. Instead, go further infront a little, there's another turning. Turn right straight! (I U-Turned and it was a big mistake! Ended up in some kampung-ish area!)

According to Connie, they have extended the sale till tomorrow, Saturday, 13th March 2010 (10.00am - 2.00pm). So, do drop by if you have the chance. Seriously worth it. Price ranges from RM 1 to about RM 35. But most items are RM 10 - RM 20.

The thing I really love about i Nuovi is that although they finished distributing their lip gloss palette as a free gift with purchases above RM 50 since the first day of sales, they still continue giving out other things rather then saying its finished!
As of today, they almost finished giving out the eyeshadow palette as well!
So, I was given a choice to choose between the last few eyeshadow palettes left, or take their new free gift:

Since I was already in 1 Utama, I decided to visit Etude House and The Face Shop.
Found out that both Etude House and The Face Shop are on sales!
Bought 55 Kissful Tint Chou (04) as I needed a lip tint/stain which is pink/peachy in colour and it was on 50%. (Was deciding between 55 Kissful Tint Chou and Fresh Cherry Tint, the S.A told me that 55 Kissful Tint Chou is more longlasting) Red is just too overwhelming for me :(.
According to Etude House's S.A, their sales will be until 10th April 2010.
Went to The Face Shop to check the price on their Hydro Splash BB Cream.
It's out of stock and priced at RM 59.90 if I remembered correctly.
And it's not on discount. :(

It is actually valid for 3 days from 6th March 2010 to 8th March 2010.

However, since today is already 7th March 2010, you only still have more slightly more than a day to grab this offer.

I was trying my best to drop by Carrefour since yesterday but with no avail as there was so many errands to run. :(

Alright, time to spill the beans.
On the 2nd of February 2010,
I was given this to deal with:

To top it off, it happened during my peak period.

With 1 quiz and two assignments which was equilvalent to 40% of my finals the following week.

Chinese New Year was just several days away.

It was hell suffering.

Many concern friends couldn't come to visit even if they insisted (I truly thank you all)

Because I had to be quarantine for a week regardless of whether I fully recovered faster or not, I could not attend classes, go for my quiz, and complete an observation for my report.

E-mailed my department and they were willing to give me a one week extension for my report and 2 weeks extension for my quiz but no extension for my project work as it was a group thing.

Shouldn't it be good news that I was given an extension?

Yes and No!

Because while others had finished almost all their assignments and can start getting prepared for the finals, I had to deal with the observation on week 1 of recovery, presentation and quiz on my 2nd week of recovery.

And guess what's in for the 3rd week?

My finals of course.

Therefore, the one month of absence. :(

Owh yes, I caught the damn thing.

Luckily, I was detected fast and it was a mild thing.

Not like how the Spannish Flu hit Edward Cullen :P

So, how was H1N1 like?

On the first day before going to the clinic, I experienced terrible body ache the moment I woke up.

Was suppose to go to class but heck, it was only one tutorial so I thought it wouldn't harm to be absent for once.

Hell did I make the right decision or else my entire department or worst, entire university might be shut down :P

I had the chills, felt fatigue, lack of appetite but yet I insisted I am fine.

Daddy and mummy forced me to the doctor.

He did an Influenza A test (called the rapid flu test) on me, and in less than 15 minutes later, the shocking news came.

I was positive! :(

For the entire week, I practically feel fatigue and lost my appetite.

But other than that, I did not suffer any physical pain.

La Eau Mini 3D EyeLiner Pencil

I bought this in Black from Renee.

Other shades available are Brown and White.

Price might vary depending on sellers, but I got this at only RM 1.50.

Cheap eh?

But how does it perform?

Here's how it looks on my eye.

This one is applied after I put on some BB Cream.

Usually, I face difficulties drawing with pencil eyeliners after applying foundie.

The colour intensiy just isn't as dark and it isn't smooth.

But that wasn't the case with this one!

The intensity as you can judge from the picture is really dark and intense.

Big smiles and yay for this factor. :D

Can you spot like 2 white dots in the picture?

That's cause this liner contains glitter!

Thou I usually hate glitters as it reminds me of little girl make up, this one is subtle enough for me.

Therefore, it doesn't bother me.

Take note however, that the glitter are quite big but you might have at most like 3 glitters only on each eye which isn't too overwhealming IMO.

Because of the glitters however, it gave a rough feeling when I drew the line. :(

It doesn't smudge on me but I can't be sure 100% as I used Daiso Eye Liner Coat over it!

(Daiso Eye Liner Coat = amazing stuff at. too bad its always OOS).

Do note that some smudgy eyeliners like Jordana Kohl Kajal smudges a little even with Daiso Eye Liner Coat.

So, I do believe that people with normal to combination skin will have no problem with this even without an eyeliner coat. ;)

Another picture to show the how dark and intense this eyeliner pencil is:

Why is this called La Eau MINI 3D EyeLiner Pencil?

It's really small (as in short in terms of length) and cute!

It's only approx. 10cm long with it's cap on and slightly less than 9cm when uncapped!

This could be a plus or minus point.

Plus cause it's easy to bring along and travel friendly.

Minus because it means less product I guess?

I also love the fact that the cap is transparent and it has a sort of stopper to prevent you from puting the cap on too tight which may cause the tip of the pencil to be blunt.

End note is that this is a GREAT eyeliner pencil at a low price.

I will repurchase thats for sure!

Missha M BB Cream

Honestly, I think that most people have gone pass the bb cream craze.

However, from my very first tube of BB Cream (Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream), I fell head over toes for bb cream.

The almost never ending search for my HG BB Cream began and as of today, I have 4 full tubes of BB Creams (Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream, Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF 30PA++, and TocToc Whitening & Wrinkle Repair Blemish Balm Tinted Cream SPF 30 in High Coverage and this one). I have also tried SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA in Shade 2 (thanks Traclyn) and have sample packs of Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42 PA+++ in both tones. However, as I've gotten TocToc Whitening & Wrinkle Repair Blemish Balm Tinted Cream SPF 30 in High Coverage and the sample sachets of Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42 PA+++ at almost the same timing and decided to try out this bb cream first, I have NOT TRIED these two yet. So, please do not ask for a comparison yet.

Texture wise, Missha M BB Cream is thick and creamy. It may seem difficult to blend, but since I always stipple my bb cream on, I have no issues here. The only thing is, I do find that I need a little more product than Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream and Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF 30 PA++ because this one is less spreadable. However, right after the application, my skin does feel a little sticky thou this feeling do fade away within minutes and does not really bother me.

This bb cream has excellent oil control I must say! This one tops the chart as compared to Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream, Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF30 PA++ and SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA. No powders, no touch ups, no oil blotters required! And this lasts from early morning till late night even after walking around Taipan sweating. :P

Coverage is much better than Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream and Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF30 PA++. It offers medium coverage which does mask of slight redness caused by acne or discolouration caused by acne (I do not have eye bags so don't bother asking). I like the fact that it covers just enough yet not putting a mask over my entire face, allowing my skin to "breathe". I lied to the bf that day that I didn't put any make up on my face and he actually believe me! :P

Does that mean that this bb cream gives a natural look? My answer? YES but that's after a few minutes. After the product slowly match my skin tone. At the beginning right after application, I get a grey cast over my face but slowly it fades. Unlike Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream which was too fair for my skin, this one matches after several minutes, provided if I don't stipple too much product on my face. ;) Owh, and if it doesn't match your skin tone after a few minutes, and if you are not willing to take the trouble to mix and match the tone with your other bb creams, then tough luck as this bb cream, like Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream, Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF30 PA++, and TocToc Whitening & Wrinkle Repair Blemish Balm Tinted Cream SPF 30 in High Coverage, only comes in one shade.

Most people tell me that they never use concealer or foundation because they feel that these make up products only makes their skin condition worst. With this bb cream, I feel that not only did it NOT cause any breakouts but it actually improved my skin condition!

Owh, and no SPF!

SUMMARY

Pros: great oil control, decent coverage, natural look, matches my skintone, does not cause breakouts, improves skin condition, reasonable price for such a huge tube (50ml)

Cons: thick and creamy texture therefore not so spreadable requires more than other bb cream for entire face, a little sticky upon application but fades within minutes, only one shade, no spf

Overall: Despite the fact that the cons seems longer than the pros, I still prefer this bb cream over Shills 6 in 1 Cherry Blossom BB Cream, Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF30 PA++, and SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF20 PA in Shade 2. It wins in oil control, coverage, shade (because it matches my skin not because of shade availability), and even price.

Yesss... I AM BACK!
Actually, I was back since Friday, 18th December 2009, but was sick and tired from the long trip.
It's winter and the temperature was around 3 degrees to -7 degrees?
You can imagine the stress my skin was and is going through :(

But anyway, the holiday trip was great as it was packed with new experiences and places with historical backgrounds, all of which were simply mind blowing. :P

I flew to-and-fro using Malaysia Airlines.
Honestly a bad experience which I hope never to experience again :(

SuperFine Nano Face Towel

Apart from the JOJO Blackhead Remover Pad I've posted about yesterday, another new ritual which I adapted into my cleansing routine is wiping my face with this SuperFine Nano Face Towel.

Aparently, this face towel is made of superfine nanomaterial which is 250 times tinier than silk. Therefore, it claims that it can "pull out dirt from the pores".

Does it live up to its claim?

In my personal opinion, the answer is a YES!

When I first purchased this face towel, I was pretty scared that this face towel will turn murky which means my facial cleanser did not perform its job well. Luckily, my face towel is still pretty white after my normal cleansing routine.

If my face towel is still white, how do I know it works?

The first encounter of my face towel changing colour is when I wiped my face after washing off my weekly routine of soft mask. The soft mask was pink in colour and because I only washed the mask with water and my bare hands, this amazing face towel turned pink!

Hence, I believe that this confirms that the towel does work!

Also, I am a lazy girl.

As much as I love applying make up, I dread the end of the day when I have to remove them off my face.

I know that cleansing face without applying make up is like bathing with clothes on, so I do cleanse my face, but sometimes rather brief and fast and missing some areas here and there.

Here's the scary bit, those areas I missed will stain my face towel.

Thus, this face towel can also be a "test" for determining if your facial cleansers or make up removers are performing their jobs or not. ;)

CONS:

According to sellers, this face towel can only be handwashed. No machine allowed. What is worst is that, you cannot use any detergents to wash this face towel. I wash my face towel once a week and since only handwash without detergents are allowed, it is rather difficult to wash the stains off. :(

All in all, I believe that this SuperFine Nano Face Towel is a must for all. At only RM 2.70 per face towel, it is really affordable and effective.

JOJO Blackhead Remover Pad

I purchase this quite some time ago and used it everytime I cleanse my face.

After cleansing my face with my facial cleanser (before washing it off), I used this blackhead remover pad to scrub my entire face in a gentle circular motion.

The verdict:

My face felt cleaner and fresher everytime after cleansing ever since I included this in my routine.

It also looked brighter and less dull.. probably because there are less dead skin cells?

My nose always had those annoying blackheads which are so deep under, so you can definitely see the black spots but there doesn't seem to be a way to push them out of my nose. I've tried those peel off mask thingy but it never works! After several days of using this blackhead remover pad, my nose is now blackhead free! Ok, I'm exaggerating... there are significantly less blackheads sitting on my nose.

At only RM 5, this pad is super duper worth buying.

FOR TWILIGHT SAGA FANS:

On the side note, since today is officially the first day after my exams, I finally watched New Moon. It did not meet my expectation as I don't feel the chiastma between the actors at all. It was very slow moving and somehow I feel that the transition between the scenes were bad.. as if they hardly linked.

If it wasn't because I read the book earlier (along with Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) in my earlier semester break, I wouldn't have understood the significance of many parts in the movie. I

t wouldn't be a movie I would watch over and over again like what I did for Twilight. It is important to note however, New Moon was the plot of the saga which I hated the most, which may result in bias rating for the movie.

I am hoping that Eclipse will meet my expectations but I wouldn't place it that high as the director of New Moon, Chris Weitz has the best reputation amongst the other two director of Twilight (Catherine Hardwicke) and Eclipse (David Slade).

Owh and errr, is it only me but most of the cast in The Cullen's family either looked the same or got more awesone except for Rosalie Hale? Honestly, I feel that she is the ugliest female family member of The Cullens. :P

And I am totally in love with the soundtrack played right when the credit section appear. The title of the soundtrack is "New Moon (The Meadow)" by Alexandre Desplat. <3

LIYANSHIJIA Freezing Fresh Exquisite Pore Mask - Unique Freezing Cells

I got this from Renee in Lowyat.net at RM 1.50 per piece.

As far as I know, you can only get this mask from online dealers thou some offers C.O.D services.

Scent:

There is a scent but it isn't overwhelming so I am fine with it.

Essence:

Amount of essense was not stated.

However, rest assured that there are sufficient essence because I encountered almost too much of it, some of which dripped down my chin onto my tee. (boo factor because it made sheet masks which are supposed to be convenient to be a messy application)

Some other BOO factors:

*I have also no idea which country made this mask as it was not stated.

Lack of information is another major boo if you ask me. :(

While there was the word Korea there, I highly doubt it was made in Korea because all descriptions were either in broken English or Chinese characters.

**Also, I believe that even in Chinese, there isn't an ingredient list which I can't perform a check to see if any of their ingredient are comedogenic.

***The mask sheet was slightly greenish yellow in colour (think highlighter).

****The mask was packaged in such a way that it was difficult to unfold. Again the issue here is messy application.

YAY factors:

I bought this mask because the bf recently commented about my pores. I turned to this mask because sellers recommended using this mask to tighten the pores after extracting blackheads or whiteheads using peel-off masks. Guess what? IT WORKS! My pores was reduced. However, this is not a miracle mask so I do believe that you need more than one application for the effect to last. Plus, it doesn't mean that the pores are gone.. just less visible. :)

After 15 - 20 minutes of application, my face felt instantly clean and refreshed! I guess it's because of the minty feeling. (think mint toothpaste and how it refreshes your breath!) Owh, and the face feels softer too!

Makes my skin less oily

Hydrated my skin well! After cleansing, sometimes there are some part of my face which will peel. After using this mask, the flakes disappears. :)

It also *slightly* reduced redness of the inflammed acne on my skin.

The mask covers eye areas which sort of a bonus? Well, it can be a 2-in-1 mask right?

Repurchase:
Well, yeah it could be messy; but at RM 1.50 per piece (and Renee offers C.O.D services), the answer is a big Y.E.S!

Knock... knock... anyone still there?

Firstly I would like to apologize for the hiatus. (yeah I am sick of looking at the bottle of Silky Girl Hydra Clean MakeUp Remover post on my blog too... it's been there for almost too long. :P)

I had been relatively busy dealing with assignments over assignments week after week implying so much to do within so little time.

Nevertheless, I am having a short breather now so I wanted to update my blog :)

To those of you who don't know, I recently turned 19.

While sounds all wee~ having a report proposal and 3000 words essay incorporated somewhere in the event dampens my joy. :(

Anyway, this is just a simple post that I would like to dedicate my gratitude to.

For the greatings regardless of sms, phone calls, facebook messages, msns, face-to-face ones, I deeply appreciate it (honestly, it's the thought that counts!). Also, for the Dim Sum, Seafood Dinner, Birthday Cake, Western Lunch at The Ship and the bouquet of roses.

Those of you who were involved in any of the activity stated above, trust me, I deeply appreciated it!

SILKYGIRL Hydra Clean Makeup Remover

What I Like about this Product:

The mild and gentle formula which is light and does not leave a greasy feel after washing it off
It removes almost all traces of makeup (both waterproof and non waterproof)

you will need a longer time with waterproof mascara

Although it doesn't leave any greasy feeling, it seems to leave my skin really soft and calm
It didn't break me out or cause me any irritations nor does it flake my skin dry
It contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera Extract (maybe that's why my skin feels so soft after using this!)
One step to remove all face, eyes and apparently lip makeup

unlike other eye & lip make up removers which is too oily to remove face makeup

It's reasonably priced! RM 15.90 for a 165 ml bottle

not as cheap as Charcoal Cleansing Cream from Daiso thou :P

What I Dislike about this Product:

it clouds my vision!

no matter how hard I shut my eyes, it still clouds my vision! its not sore or painful but its irritating! thankfully, it goes off after a short while

It contains grape seed oil (moderately comedogenic) & mineral oil (mildly comedogenic)

but it didn't cause me any irritations so I'm fine with it

You need to use a cloth to wipe your entire face (they recommend using cotton pad but cloth seem to be more environmental friendly) after washing the product off

your cloth will be filled with makeup residue but after one wipe, your face is clean. I guess this product breaks down the makeup so it could be easily swiped off your face?

Conclusion:

I definitely prefer this as compare to Charcoal Cleansing Cream from Daiso because this one doesn't leave any greasy feeling. I really love how soft my face feels after using this product. Both products clouds my vision.. is this how lotion makeup remover works?

Repurchase? Maybe. Though it doesn't remove waterproof mascara well (it removes all my mascara except Maybelline Volum' Express Cats Eye), I think it works pretty decent for its price. I would definitely repurchase this when it's on sale but I also want to try ZA Deep Cleansing Oil badly.
