ผู้เรียนภาษาอังกฤษมักจะมีความสับสนในการใช้ present simple tense และ present continuous tense เสมอ ดังนั้นจะขอทำการเปรียบเทียบวิธีการใช้ดังต่อไปนี้

1. The simple present tense

วิธีการใช้:
1. การกระทำที่กระทำเป็นประจำสม่ำเสมอหรือกระทำจนเป็นกิจนิสัย โดยมักจะมีคำบอกความถี่บ่อยของการกระทำ เช่น every day or every week

2. ใช้แสดงการกระทำที่เป็นความจริง ไม่ค่อยมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง

การเปรียบเทียบขั้นกว่า (Comparative Adjectives)

วิธีการเปลี่ยนรูปคำคุณศัพท์ (Adjective Forming)

1. Adjectives พยางค์เดียวสามารถเปลี่ยนรูปเป็นขั้นกว่าได้โดยเติม ‘er’ ท้ายพยางค์ เช่น

tall – taller, old – older, long – longer

ตัวอย่าง

Mary is taller than Max.

Max is older than John.

My hair is longer than your hair.

2. ถ้า adjectives พยางค์เดียวลงท้ายด้วยตัว ‘e’ ให้เติม ‘r’
