...is really what i need these days. This semester is almost over, so i have multiple tests every day. i have to study until late at night almost every day (which is really not my thing - i am very productive in the morning, but it gets quite hard for me to remember anything i learn late in the evening or at night), so i have absolutely no time to relax.
only two more school weeks left - holiday, here i come!

A D O P T E D.

After dreaming of this my entire life, and volunteering with various shelters wishing I could take every animal home, I've did done it, and this doggy now has a home.

I NEVER planned on adopting a puppy. I was looking for a slightly older dog, but I had some pretty horrible experiences with other shelters and rescue groups. This organization really stood out. They move dogs faster than any other I've encountered (and are now sponsored by Petco as a result of their great efforts!), are responsive, and put their hearts and souls into placing these guys into good homes.

He and his littermates were pulled from animal control in Kentucky along with their mom (yet another thing I love about this org -- they don't leave the mom to die). They were on the list for euthanasia immediately after being dumped by their owner, but thankfully they were all saved. He has been such a champ so far! He's on some meds for the various shelter ailments, and he happily takes them, even sucking the medicine dropper dry! As far as potty training goes, I'm in awe. If he could hold it, I swear he would be fully-trained already. He has not made one mess (and LOVES the natural peanut butter treats he gets as a reward for going outside, haha).

It's been a sleepless weekend -- I feel like I've just given birth to a child! -- but he's so insanely grateful.

Portrait Thursdays

Location : Medan,North Sumatra,Indonesia
Camera : GF2 + 45mm f1.8

So, i picked up this lense on my overnight transit in singapore. I was so excited to test the lens out since we were on going to medan for our friend's wedding. Lense in my opinion is great for close up shots like this... but the GF-2 that i brought along since i havent been using it much at all, really has some issues. its super noisy compared to E-P1, and on an indoor setting like this where light is an issue, most of my indoor shots aren't as smooth as i would like them if i use more than iso 800. Its a pitty really, i really liked the built and feel of GF-2 but the IQ really really bad. Well this is one of the few sucess shots i had with it.

This mother and child was passing by. I think it was a bit interesting with the birds in the background. The colors up is really special this day. The Polar Bear is the biggest of all bears. This day we saw 19 of them. This mother and child was close to a big male bear. That is unusual to see. The male Polar Bear is known of killing the child so he can get the mother interested in him.

...I mentioned before that we are having temperamental September... So here is an impression from one very rainy-misty day. The sunset was so mysteriously impressive - all filled with peachy pink light caught in the constantly moving mist... A pure magic!
Tried to be gently with texture processing to keep this mysterious feel to it...

The Musée du Louvre (French pronunciation: [myze dy luvʁ]), or officially Grand Louvre — in English, the Louvre Museum or simply the Louvre — is one of the world's largest museums, the most visited art museum in the world and a historic monument. A central landmark of Paris, it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement (district). Nearly 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 19th century are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square metres (652,300 square feet).
The museum is housed in the Louvre Palace (Palais du Louvre) which began as a fortress built in the late 12th century under Philip II. Remnants of the fortress are still visible. The building was extended many times to form the present Louvre Palace. In 1682, Louis XIV chose the Palace of Versailles for his household, leaving the Louvre primarily as a place to display the royal collection, including, from 1692, a collection of antique sculpture.[4] In 1692, the building was occupied by the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres and the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture, which in 1699 held the first of a series of salons. The Académie remained at the Louvre for 100 years.[5] During the French Revolution, the National Assembly decreed that the Louvre should be used as a museum, to display the nation's masterpieces.
The museum opened on 10 August 1793 with an exhibition of 537 paintings, the majority of the works being royal and confiscated church property. Because of structural problems with the building, the museum was closed in 1796 until 1801. The size of the collection increased under Napoleon and the museum was renamed the Musée Napoléon. After the defeat of Napoléon at Waterloo, many works seized by his armies were returned to their original owners. The collection was further increased during the reigns of Louis XVIII and Charles X, and during the Second French Empire the museum gained 20,000 pieces. Holdings have grown steadily through donations and gifts since the Third Republic, except during the two World Wars. As of 2008, the collection is divided among eight curatorial departments: Egyptian Antiquities; Near Eastern Antiquities; Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities; Islamic Art; Sculpture; Decorative Arts; Paintings; Prints and Drawings.
