فضائل تہجّد

تہجد بہت ہی افضل و اعلیٰ نماز ہے۔ نمازپنجگانہ کے بعد یہ نماز بہت اعلیٰ ہے،یہ ایک حقیقت ہے کہ رات کو آرام کی نیند چھوڑ کر بستروں سے الگ ہونا انسانی طبیعت پر کافی گراں گزرتا ہے؛ اس لیے اللہ پاک نے فرض نماز کے بعد رات کی پچھلی گھڑی میں عبادت کرنے کو افضل قرار دیا۔آئیے قرآن و حدیث کی روشنی میں اس کی فضیلت کو جانتے ہیں۔

تہجد کی فضیلت میں قرآنی آیات:

تہجد صلوۃاللیل کی ایک قسم ہے۔ فرق صرف اتنا ہے کہ اس کےلیےسونا شرط ہےچنانچہ اللہ پاک نے قرآن مجید میں اپنے بندوں کے اوصاف میں ارشاد فرمایا: وَالَّذِیۡنَ یَبِیۡتُوۡنَ لِرَبِّہِمْ سُجَّدًا وَّ قِیٰمًا ﴿۶۴﴾ ترجمۂ کنز الایمان: اور وہ جو رات کا ٹتے ہیں اپنے رب کے لئے سجدے اور قیام میں۔ ایک مقام پر یوں ارشاد فرمایا: تَتَجَافٰی جُنُوۡبُہُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ یَدْعُوۡنَ رَبَّہُمْ خَوْفًا وَّ طَمَعًا ترجمۂ کنز الایمان: ان کی کروٹیں جدا ہوتی ہیں خواب گاہوں سے اوراپنے رب کو پکارتے ہیں ڈرتے اورامید کرتے۔

جن لوگوں سے خدا خوش ہوتا ہے:

حضرت سیِّدُنا عبْدُاللہ بن مسعود رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضورسرورِ کونین صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمنے ارشاد فرمایا:ہمارا رب دو شخصوں سے بہت خوش ہوتا ہے، ایک وہ شخص جو اپنے بستر، اپنے لحاف، اپنے پیاروں، اپنے گھر والوں کے درمیان سے کود کر نماز کے لئے کھڑا ہو، رب تبارک وتعالیٰ فرماتا ہے:اے میرے فرشتو! میرے اس بندے کو دیکھو کہ اپنے بستر اور لحاف سے اپنے پیاروں اور گھر والوں کے درمیان سے نماز کے لئے اٹھ کھڑا ہوا، میرے ثواب کی رغبت کرتے اور میرے عذاب کا خوف کرتے اور ایک وہ شخص جو اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرے تو اپنے ساتھیوں کے ساتھ بھاگ جائے پھر غور کرے کہ اس پر بھاگنے میں کیا عذاب ہے اور لوٹنے میں کیا ثواب ہے تو لوٹ پڑے حتی کہ اس کا خون بہادیا جائے تو رب تعالیٰ فرشتوں سے فرماتا ہے: میرے بندے کو دیکھو میرے ثواب میں رغبت اور میرے عذاب سے خوف کرتے ہوا لوٹ پڑا حتّٰی کہ اس کا خون بہاد یا گیا۔ (معجم کبیر)

تہجد کے متعلق فرامین مصطفٰے:

﴿01﴾…بے شک رات میں ایک ایسی ساعت ہے جس میں مسلمان بندہ جباللہ کریم سے دنیا وآخرت کی کوئی بھلائی مانگتاہے تو اللہکریماسے وہ بھلائی ضرور عطا فرماتاہے اوریہ ساعت ہر رات میں ہوتی ہے۔ (صحیح مسلم (

﴿02﴾…حضرتِ سیدناابوہریرہ رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم نے فرمایا، ’’رمضان کے بعد سب سے افضل روزے اللہ پاک کے مہینے محرم کے ہیں اور فرض نمازکے بعد سب سے افضل نماز رات میں پڑھی جانے والی نماز ہے۔ ‘‘ (صحیح مسلم )

﴿03﴾…حضرتِ سیدنا ابو مالک اشعری رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہ سے روایت ہے کہ رحمت والے نبی صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم نے فرمایا ، ’’بے شک جنت میں کچھ ایسے محلات ہیں جن میں آرپار نظر آتاہے، اللہ پاک نے وہ محلا ت ان لوگوں کیلئے تیار کئے ہیں جو محتاجوں کو کھانا کھلاتے ہیں ،سلام کو عام کرتے اور رات کو جب لوگ سورہے ہوں تو نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔‘‘(صحیح ابن حبا ن)

﴿04﴾…جو شخص رات میں بیدار ہواور اپنے اہل کو جگائے پھر دونوں دو دو رکعت پڑھیں تو کثرت سے یاد کرنے والوں میں لکھے جائیں گے۔ (مستدرک للحاکم)

﴿05﴾…میری امت کے بہترین لوگ حامِلینِ قرآن اور رات کو جاگ کر اللہپاک کی عبادت کرنے والے ہیں۔ (الترغیب والترہیب)

﴿06﴾…رسول اللہ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم نے ایک مرتبہ صحابہ کرام رِضْوَانُ اللہِ عَلَیْہِمْ اَجْمَعِیْن میں سے کسی کو ارشاد فرمایا: لَاتُکْثِرِالنَّوْمَ بِا للَّیْلِ فَاِنَّ کَثْرَۃَالنَّوْمِ بِاللَّیْلِ تَدْعُ صَاحِبَہٗ فَقِیْراً یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃِ یعنی رات کو زیادہ نہ سویا کرو کیونکہ رات کو بہت سونے والابروز ِقیامت(نیکیوں کے سلسلے میں ) فقیر ہو گا۔ (تذکرۃُ الحفّاظ)

تہجد اور بزرگان دین:

حضرت سیِّدُناامام جنید بغدادی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کو بعد ِوصال کسی نے خواب میں دیکھا تو پوچھا ، اے ابو القاسِم! (بعد ِوفات آپ کے ساتھ کیا معاملہ ہوا ؟)کچھ ارشاد فرمائیے۔ فرمایا ’’علمی اَبحاث اور علمی نِکات کی باریکیاں کام نہ آئیں مگر رات کی تنہائی میں ادا کی جانے والی نماز(تہجد) نے خوب فائدہ پہنچایا“۔(بیٹے کو نصیحت)

حضرتِ سیِّدُنا حسن بصری رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ عَلَیْہسے پوچھاگیا : ’’تہجد گزار لوگو ں کے چہرے دیگر لوگو ں سے زیادہ خوبصورت کیوں ہوتے ہیں ؟‘‘ تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’وہ اللہ پاک کے لئے تنہائی اختیار کرتے ہیں تو اللہ پاک انہیں اپنے نور کا لباس پہنا دیتا ہے ۔‘‘(بحر الدموع)

امام جلال الدین سیوطیرَحْمَۃُ اللہِ عَلَیْہنمازِ تہجد با قاعدگی سے ادا فرمایا کرتے تھے، اگرکبھی رہ جاتی تو اتنے پریشان ہوتے یہاں تک کہ بیمار پڑجاتے ۔(مدنی آقا کے روشن فیصلے)

ہمت کیوں نہیں ہوتی؟

حضرت سیِّدُنا عبْدُاللہ بن مسعود رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہ کی بارگاہ میں عرض کی گئی: ہم رات کو نماز کے لئے قیام نہیں کرپاتے ہیں۔ ارشاد فرمایا: تمہارے گناہوں نے تمہیں اپاہج بنا دیا ہے۔

حضرت سیِّدُنا حسن بصریرَحْمَۃُ اللہِ عَلَیْہ سے عرض کی گئی: ہم سے رات کا قیام نہیں ہوپاتا۔ فرمایا: گناہوں نے تمہارے پاؤں میں بیڑیاں ڈال دی ہیں۔

قارئین کرام!تہجد کی نماز ایک بہت ہی قیمتی اور افضل نماز ہے ،بلکہ فرائض کے بعد اِس سے زیادہ بہتر کوئی نماز نہیں ، اِس لئے کہ رات کے اندھیرے میں جب لوگ سورہے ہوتے ہیں اور غفلت کا ماحول ہوتا ہے اور نفس بھی کسی طرح بستر چھوڑنے پر راضی نہیں ہوتا ایسے میں جب کوئی شخص اپنی نیند اور آرام و راحت کو چھوڑ کر اللہ کے حضور کھڑا ہوتا ہے تو یہ بندے کی جانب سے بہت بڑی قربانی ہوتی ہے اور جب قربانی بڑی ہوتو رب کی مہربانی بھی بڑی ہوتی ہے ۔اِسی لئے احادیثِ طیّبہ کے مطابق یہ نماز بندے کیلئے اللہ پاک کے سب سے زیادہ قُرب کا باعث بنتی ہے۔اللہ پاک ہمیں نماز تہجد کی پابندی نصیب فرمائے۔آمین بجاہِ سید الاوّلین الآخرین صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم

مال ، صحت اور سکون

اللہ تعالیٰ کی بے شمار نعمتوں میں سے مال ، صحت اور سکون بہت بڑی نعمتیں ہیں۔ جس کو اللہ کی نعمتیں میسر ہوں تو اسے چاہیے کہ وہ شکر ادا کرے. تاکہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان میں مزید اضافہ اور برکتیں عطاء فرماتے رہیں۔ ہمارے معاشرے میں اسلام کی تعلیمات سے دوری کا نتیجہ ہے یا اسلام کی غلط تشریحات کا اثر ہے کہ ہم اللہ کی بعض نعمتوں کے بارے منفی سوچ رکھتے ہیں، مثلاً ہمارے ہاں یہ سمجھا جاتاہے کہ جس کے پاس مال و دولت ہو وہ ’’دنیا دار‘‘ ہے اور جس کے پاس نہ ہو وہ ’’دین دار ‘‘ ہے، حالانکہ مطلقا ً یہ تقسیم درست نہیں۔

بلکہ اگر مال و دولت کے ساتھ ساتھ دل میں خوف خدا موجود ہے تو یہی مال و دولت اس کے حق میں اللہ کی رحمت بن جاتا ہے جس سے وہ بہت سارے اسلامی احکامات پر عمل کرنے کے قابل ہوتا ہے اور اللہ کو راضی کر کے دنیا و آخرت میں کامیاب ہوتا ہے تو ایسا مال ’’دنیا‘‘ نہیں بلکہ ’’دین‘‘ ہے۔

اور اگر مال و دولت کی کثرت نہیں بلکہ معمولی مقدار میں پایا جاتا ہے لیکن اس کے باوجود یہ عبادات میں رکاوٹ بنتا ہے تو یہ ’’دنیا‘‘ ہے جس کی احادیث مبارکہ

میں مذمت بیان کی گئی ہے۔

گویا مال کا دارومدار عملی زندگی سے تعلق رکھتا ہے عملی زندگی شریعت کے احکام کے مطابق تو مال کی کثرت باعث رحمت ہے اور اگر عملی زندگی شریعت کے احکام کے خلاف ہے تو مال کی قلت بھی باعث عذاب ہے۔
صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم میں سے ایک صحابی روایت کرتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ اتنے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سر مبارک گیلا تھا(یعنی غسل کر کے تشریف لائے تھے) ہم نے عرض کی کہ یا رسول اللہ آپ بہت خوش دکھائی دے رہے ہیں۔

آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : جی ہاں (ایسا ہی ہے )صحابی فرماتے ہیں کہ پھر لوگ مال ودولت کے بارے میں گفتگو کرنے لگے (یعنی اس کی مذمت بیان کرنے لگے)تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: خوف خدا رکھنے والے شخص کے لیے مال و دولت بری چیز نہیں اور متقی آدمی کے لیے مال و دولت سے بڑھ کر صحت وتندرستی زیادہ اچھی چیز ہے اور دل کی خوشی(سکون و چین) بھی اللہ کی نعمتوں میں سے ایک نعمت ہے۔

مال و دولت کے بارے میں چند باتیں ذہن نشین رکھنی چاہییں۔

… مال کو حلال اور جائز طریقے سے حاصل کریں۔ ناجائز اور حرام ذرائع آمدن سے بچیں، جیسا کہ فراڈ ، دھوکہ ، سود ، جھوٹ ، جھوٹی قسمیں اور غیر شرعی طریقہ معاملات ہیں۔ یاد رکھیں مال تو ناجائز اور حرام ذرائع سے بھی مل جاتا ہے لیکن اللہ کی نافرمانی کی وجہ سے خدا کی ناراضگی اس میں داخل ہو جاتی ہے جس کی وجہ سے بیماریاں ، لڑائی جھگڑے ، بے چینی و بے سکونی ، ذہنی ڈپریشن اور اولاد بے ادب اور نافرمان بن جاتی ہے۔

حرام کا لقمہ ایسا زہر ہے جس کے ہوتے ہوئے عبادت کی حلاوت کا احساس بھی نہیں ہو پاتا۔ حالات کی بہتری کے لیے دعائیں مانگی جاتی ہیں لیکن حرام مال ، حرام لباس اور حرام خوراک کی وجہ سے اللہ انہیں قبول نہیں فرماتے۔
… مال کے ساتھ جن حقوق اللہ کا تعلق ہے ان کو بروقت ضرور کریں۔ واجبی صدقات جیسا کہ زکوٰۃ ، قربانی ،عشر ، صدقہ فطر وغیرہ ہیں ان کو اپنے وقت پر خوشی کے ساتھ ادا کریں۔

یہ بات اچھی طرح یاد رکھیں کہ مال و دولت ملنے کے بعد اللہ تعالیٰ کے حقوق ادا نہ کرنا اور جن عبادات کا تعلق مال کے ساتھ ہے مال کے کم ہونے کے خوف کی وجہ سے ان عبادات کو ادا نہ کرنا دنیا و آخرت کی بربادی ہے ، مال ختم نہ بھی لیکن انسان کی زندگی ایک دن ضرور ختم ہوجائے گی اور یہی مال دوسروں کی ملکیت میں چلا جائے گا۔

… مال کے ساتھ جن حقوق العباد کا تعلق ہے ان کی ادائیگی برقت کریں۔

اہل و عیال کی معاشی ضروریات کو پورا کرنا اپنی حیثیت کے مطابق ان کے اخراجات کو پورا کرنا ضروری ہے۔ والدین ،بہن بھائی ، قریبی رشتہ دار ، ہمسائے اور ضرورت مند طبقے پر اپنی مالی وسعت کے مطابق خرچ کرنا اسلام کی تعلیم ، اللہ کی خوشنودی اور رضاء کا ذریعہ اور مال میں مزید فراخی اور برکت کے حصول کا باعث ہے۔ اس لیے دل چھوٹا نہیں کرنا چاہیے بلکہ اعتدال کے ساتھ مال کو کام میں لاتے رہیں۔

… مال کو فضول خرچی سے بچائیں۔ ایک بات اچھی طرح یاد رکھیں جہاں ضرورت ہو وہاں ایک لاکھ بھی خرچ کرنا گناہ نہیں اور جہاں ضرورت نہ ہو وہاں ایک روپیہ بھی خرچ کرنا گناہ ہے۔ ہمارے معاشرے میں نام و نمود اور شہرت کے حصول کے لیے مال کو ضائع کیا جاتا ہے۔ خوشی کا موقع ہو یا غمی کا دونوں میں فضول خرچی دیکھنے کو ملتی ہے ، خصوصاً شادی بیاہ اور دیگر تقریبات میں ضرورت سے زائد اتنا زیادہ خرچ کیا جاتا ہے کہ الامان والحفیظ۔

حالانکہ اسلام ہمیں اعتدال اور میانہ روی کی تعلیم دیتا ہے غیر شرعی رسوم و رواج اور باہمی تفاخر نے ہمارے پورے معاشرے کو بری طرح اجاڑ ڈالا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ معاشرے میں مسلسل بے سکونی اور غیر اطمینانی بڑھتی ہی چلی جا رہی ہے اور یہ اس وقت تک نہیں تھمے گی جب تک اسلام کی اعتدال والی تعلیم کو اپنا نہیں لیا جائیگا۔
مذکورہ بالا حدیث مبارک میں مال کے بعد صحت کا تذکرہ ہے کہ خوف خدا رکھنے والے انسان کے لیے مال سے بھی بڑھ کر صحت و تندرستی زیادہ بہتر ہے۔

کیونکہ صحت کے دنوں میں جس سکون و اطمینان کے ساتھ کام کیے جاتے ہیں ظاہر ہے کہ بیماری کے دنوں میں انسان ویسے کام نہیں کر سکتا۔ حقوق اللہ اور

حقوق العباد کی ادائیگی میں صحت کو بہت دخل ہے۔
ٍ حدیث مبارک سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ متقی شخص کو مال سے زیادہ اپنی صحت کا خیال رکھنا چاہیے ایسی غذائیں جو حفظان صحت کے اصولوں کے مطابق نہ ہوں ، جو جسم میں بیماریاں پیدا کرنے کا ذریعہ بنیں ان کے بجائے سادہ اور اچھی غذاکا استعمال کرناچاہییمزید یہ کہ جسم کو چست اور تندرست رکھنے کیلیے ورزش کرنی چاہیے۔

یہ بات اچھی طرح یاد رکھیں کہ صحت اللہ تعالیٰ کی دی ہوئی نعمت ہے اس کا شکر ادا کرنا چاہیے اور صحت کا شکر یہی ہے کہ انسان گناہوں والی زندگی سے دور رہے اور اپنے جسم کو شریعت اسلامیہ کے احکامات پر عمل کرنے میں لگائے لیکن ہماری کوتاہی ہے کہ ہم صحت کو اپنا کمال سمجھ کر اللہ کی نافرمانیوں میں لگ جاتے ہیں۔
ٍ اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب کو مال و دولت ، صحت و تندرستی اور سکون واطمینان جیسی

نعمتوں سے مالا مال فرمائے اور فقر و تنگدستی ، بیماریوں اور پریشانیوں سے محفوظ فرمائے۔ آمین بجاہ النبی الکریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم

Darpod sharif are many and darood sharif which Muslims recite in their prayers is also known with the name of darood e Ibrahime.
Allah and all the angles send darood sharif on the prophet Mohammad (PBUH ) and all the Muslims are ordered to send,as well.

وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا ، وَقَالَ أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " أُمِرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ ، وَنُهِيَ أَنْ يَكُفَّ شَعْرَهُ وَثِيَابَهُ " ، هَذَا حَدِيثُ يَحْيَى ، وقَال أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ : عَلَى سَبْعَةِ ، أَعْظُمٍ ، وَنُهِيَ أَنْ يَكُفَّ شَعْرَهُ ، وَثِيَابَهُ الْكَفَّيْنِ ، وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ ، وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ ، وَالْجَبْهَةِ .

.سیدنا عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سات ہڈیوں پر سجدہ کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا اور بال و کپڑے کے سمیٹنے سے منع کیا گیا۔ یہ یحییٰ کی روایت ہے۔ اور ابوالربیع نے کہا: سات ہڈیوں پر سجدہ کرنے کا (حکم کیا گیا) اور بال اور کپڑے کے سمیٹنے کی ممناعت کی گئی۔ سات ہڈیاں یہ ہیں: دونوں ہتھیلیاں، دونوں گھٹنے، دونوں پاؤں اور پیشانی۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ . ح حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌمَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، حِينَ قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ ، يَجْتَمِعُونَ ، فَيَتَحَيَّنُونَ الصَّلَوَاتِ ، وَلَيْسَ يُنَادِي بِهَا أَحَدٌ ، فَتَكَلَّمُوا يَوْمًا فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : اتَّخِذُوا نَاقُوسًا مِثْلَ نَاقُوسِ النَّصَارَى ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : قَرْنًا مِثْلَ قَرْنِ الْيَهُودِ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : أَوَلَا تَبْعَثُونَ رَجُلًا يُنَادِي
بِالصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَا بِلَالُ ، قُمْ فَنَادِ بِالصَّلَاةِ " .

‏‏‏‏ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کا بیان ہے کہ مسلمان جب مدینہ میں آئے تو جمع ہو کر وقت مقررہ پر نماز پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے اور کوئی شخص اذان نہیں دیتا تھا۔ ایک دن مسلمانوں نے مشورہ کیا کہ اطلاع نماز کے لئے عیسائیوں کی طرح ناقوس بجا لیا کریں یا یہودیوںن کی طرح نرسنگا بجا لیا کریں۔ اور سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مشورہ دیا کہ ایک آدمی مقرر کر دیا جائے جو لوگوں کو نماز کے لئے مطلع کر دیا کرے جس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے بلال! اٹھو اور نماز کے لئے اعلان کر دو۔“

Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri was born in Asfahan, Persia, around 533 AH / 1138 AD, and brought up in Sanjar. In Samarqand and Bukhara, he completed his religious education. He was initiated into the Chishti Order by Khwaja Usman Haruni around 1156 AD. At Baghdad, Khwaja Moinuddin met the great Abdu-l-Qadir Jilani, the founder of the Qadiri Order and also Abu-n-Najib Suhrawardi, the renowned Saint of the Suhrawardi Order. During his visit to Madina Tayyaba, around 1187 AD, he received a mandate from the Holy Prophet PBUH to proceed to Ajmer (Rajasthan, India), where he established the first presence of the Chishti Order in India. His high morals, great wisdom and frugal lifestyle deeply influenced thousands of people as he carried on his work in Ajmer for more than 45 years and became known as also known as Khwaja e Khwajgan Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, the Patron of the Poor. He passed away on the 6th of Rajab 633 AH/ 1236 AD. His tomb in Ajmer is a well-known place of pilgrimage for people from many countries, regardless of their religion. Sayyidatuna Hazrat Fatima-tuz Zahra رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا had a lot of virtues. She is the woman of heaven and she is the leader of all women of the heaven. She is the beloved princess of the final Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم. The beloved Rasool صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had four daughters and among them the most beloved to him was Fatima as she was youngest among them. It was the beauty of upbringing of Hazrat Khadija رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا and blessings of beloved Rasool صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم which lead the character of Fatima Zahra at the highest position. She was matchless in character as a daughter, as a wife, as a mother. She was most generous among the people. She was a copy of the good character of beloved Rasool صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم. Especially the character she presented towards the Muslim woman that is matchless and there would no other example like that. She brought water in the pitcher by herself which resulted into formation of marks on her shoulder. She grounded the mill in such a condition that Hazrat Hussain رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُwas in her leap, Hazrat Hassan رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was on her shoulder, her hands are grinding mill and her tongue was reciting the Holy Quran. For many times she spent up to three days hungry but she did not complained it. She spent nights in the worship of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ. All the characteristics should be found in a good lady were found in her. Her name was Fatima, her mother was Khadija Bint e Khawailad and she was the younger daughter of beloved Rasool صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم. Her titles were Zahra, Tahira, Mutahara and Batool.

Her nature was simple from her childhood and she was not fond of playing from early age. She did not like to go somewhere and would sit beside her mother. Her habits were most liked by Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم, so she was blessed with the title Batool. She was unmarried at the time of migration to Madina and got married with Hazrat Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ after the migration. She was fifteen years and five months old when she went to the house of Hazrat Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُafter marriage and Hazrat Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was about six years elder than her. She was given few things as dowry. Her character was same as it was before marriage but the duty to service of husband and the maintenance of children increased. She was most truthful among people as Hazrat Ayesha رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا said she is most truthful among people but her father. Holy Prophetصلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used to meet her at last when he went out of city and at first when he entered in the city. Hazrat Fatima used to follow her father صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم in every field of life. Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used to stand up when she came to him and Hazrat Fatima also used to do so. Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم said:

“Fatima is a piece of my body and a person who hurts Fatima in fact he hurts me.”

Hazrat Fatima رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا also loved her father صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم so much. She had three sons and two daughters. Hazrat Imam Hassan, Hazrat Imam Hussain, and Hazrat Muhsin were her sons and her daughters were Hazrat Zainab and Hazrat Umme Kalthum رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُم. Hazrat Fatima was most modes, pious and shy. Her illness did not stop her to do worship of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ and serving her husband. She did her house chores by herself even during her illness. Hazrat Fatima passed away at third Ramadan 11 hijri. Due to her modesty she liked that her funeral should be covered by something and no man can see it so her wish was fulfilled and her funeral was covered with bushes. For the daughter of Islam, for wives and for mothers there are a lot of lessons in the life of Sayyidatuna Hazrat Fatima-tuz Zahra رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا.

May Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ grant us the good character for the sake of Sayyidatuna Hazrat Fatima-tuz Zahraرَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہَا !Ameen

فرمایا !میں اُحد پہاڑ کے قریب جنت کی خوشبو محسوس کر رہا ہوں ۔۔۔

حضرت سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں:

''میرے چچا حضرت سیدنا انس بن نضر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ غزوہ بد ر میں نہ جاسکے ، جب ان سے میری ملاقات ہوئی تو انہوں نے ا فسوس کرتے ہوئے فرمایا :'' غزوہ بد ر جو کہ مسلمانوں اور کفار کے درمیان پہلی جنگ تھی میں اس میں حاضر نہ ہوسکا ۔ اگراب اللہ ربُّ العزَّت نے مجھے کسی غزوہ میں شرکت کاموقع دیا تو تُودیکھے گا میں کس بہادری سے لڑتا ہوں، پھر جب غزوي اُحد کا موقع آیا توکچھ لوگ بھاگنے لگے ،میرے چچا حضرت سیدنا انس بن نضر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کی:''اے میرے پر و ر دگار عزوجل!ان بھاگنے والوں میں جومسلمان ہیں، میں ان کی طرف سے معذرت خواہ ہوں اور جو مشرک ہیں، میں ان سے بری ہوں۔ پھر آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ تلوار لے کر میدان کارْ زَار کی طر ف دیوانہ وار بڑھے۔ راستے میں حضرت سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ملاقات ہوئی تو فرمایا:''اے سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ! کہا ں جاتے ہو ؟ اس پاک پرورد گار عزوجل کی قسم جس کے قبضہ قدرت میں میری جان ہے! میں اُحد پہاڑ کے قریب جنت کی خوشبو محسوس کر رہا ہوں (پھر یہ کہتے ہوئے آگے بڑھے) واہ جنت کی ہوا کیسی عمدہ،خوشگواراور پاکیزہ ہے۔ باربار یہی کلمات دہراتے رہے(اور لڑتے لڑتے شہید ہوگئے)

حضرت سیدناسعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں:

'' جیسا کارنامہ انہوں نے سرانجام دیا ہم ایسا نہیں کر سکتے ،جب آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی نعش مبارک کو ڈھونڈا گیا تو ہم نے اسے شہیدوں میں پایا، آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے جسم مبارک پر تیروں ،تلواروں اور نیزوں کے ا سّی(80)سے زائد زخم تھے، اور آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے اعضاء جگہ جگہ سے کاٹ دیئے گئے تھے ، آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو پہچاننابہت مشکل ہوچکاتھا۔پھر آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی ہمشیرہ نے آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کواُنگلیوں کے نشانات سے پہچانا، حضرت سیدنا انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں:'' ہم آپ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کودیکھ کر یہ آیت پڑھ رہے تھے:

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیۡنَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوۡا مَا عَاہَدُوا اللہَ عَلَیۡہِ ۚ

ترجمہ کنزالایمان :مسلمانوں میں کچھ وہ مرد ہیں جنہوں نے سچاکردیاجوعہد اللہ سے کیاتھا ۔( پ21،الاحزاب: 23)

Seeking Cure and Protection through Quran and the Names of Allah

Quran is the Best Cure

Almighty Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ states in the Holy Quran:

وَ نُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ وَّ رَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَۙ-

“And We send down in the Qur’an that which is a cure for the Muslims”

(Isra 17:82)

The same has been stated in a blessed Hadith reported by Sayyiduna Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ that the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said:

خیرُالدواءِ القرآنُ

“Quran is the best medicine.”

(Ibn -e- Maja)

In the explanation of the aforementioned verse, the Mufassirin (commentators of the Holy Quran) have stated that there are 3 possible interpretations of this verse:

1. Quran is a cure for deviance as it has guidance.

2. Quran is a cure for physical illnesses because it has blessings.

3. Quran is a cure from obligations and rulings as it describes them and makes them easy to follow.

All these 3 explanations are correct and prove that Quran is a cure for the physical and inner illnesses.

Imam Fakhr-ud-Deen Razi and the author of Tafsir-e-Khazin state under this verse that: “The Holy Quran is a cure for physical ailments because by virtue of its recitation, illnesses are removed.”

Proof of Blowing Over after Reciting Holy Words

Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khudri رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ reports that Sayyiduna Jibril عَلَیْہَ الصَّلَاۃ ُوَالسَّلَامcame to the court of the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and humbly asked: Do you have fever? He replied, “Yes”. So, Jibril علیہ السلام blew on him after reciting these words:

بسم اللہ ارقیک من کل شیء یؤذیک من شر کل نفس او عین حاسد، اللہ یشفیک باسم اللہ ارقیک

“I blow on you with the name of Allah from everything that ails you and from every evil-maker and from the gaze of the envier. May Allah cure you! I blow on you with the name of Allah.”

(Sahih Muslim)

Proof of Writing Amulets

Imam Bayhaqi has reported a detailed Hadith in Dalail-un-Nubuwwah the summary of which is that Sayyiduna Abu Dujana رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ complained in the court of Rasoolullah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ about Jinns disturbing him at night so he صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ ordered him to bring a pen and paper and asked Sayyiduna Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ to write a few holy words. Thereafter, Abu Dujana رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ folded that paper, brought it home with him and put it under his pillow before going to sleep. At night, he heard screams of Jinns who begged him to put the amulet away. In the morning, he discussed the matter with Rasoolullah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. The Holy Prophet said, “O Abu Dujana, take that amulet away from them, for by Allah who has sent me with truth, that nation (Jinns) will remain in pain until the Day of Judgment”.

Proof of Wearing Amulets

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏إِذَا فَزِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي النَّوْمِ فَلْيَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ ‏.‏ فَإِنَّهَا لَنْ تَضُرَّهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو يُلَقِّنُهَا مَنْ بَلَغَ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ مِنْهُمْ كَتَبَهَا فِي صَكٍّ ثُمَّ عَلَّقَهَا فِي عُنُقِهِ

The Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said, “When one of you becomes frightened during sleep, then let him say:

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ

‘I seek refuge in Allah’s Perfect Words from His anger, His punishment, and the evil of His creatures, from the whisperings of the Shayatin, and that they should come’

For verily, they shall not harm him.” He said: “So `Abdullah bin `Amr used to teach it to those of his children who attained puberty, and those of them who did not, he would write it on a sheet and then hang it around their neck.”

(Tirmidhi)

Allama Zarkashi (d. 794 AH) writes that someone complained about his conjunctivitis in the court of Imam Shafi’ee رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ so he wrote the following on a piece of paper and sent him the amulet:

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم فکشفنا عنک غطائک فبصرک الیوم حدید للذین آمنوا ھدی و شفاء

When that person wore the amulet, his disease was cured.

Prohibited Amulets

The amulets which have been forbidden in the blessed Ahadith are the following:

1. The amulet or invocation which contains polytheistic (Shirk) words as has been stated in a Hadith in Sahih Muslim, Kitab-us-Salam.

2. That amulet or invocation is forbidden which contains something prohibited and if it does not, then it is permissible.

3. Whose meaning is unknown as it may contain something blasphemous.

4. Amulets made through black-magic have been prohibited.

5. The amulet or invocation which is used for evil purposes such as the ones used to separate a husband and wife.

Important Rulings regarding Nails and Body Hair

Cleanliness on the outside and the inside has been heavily emphasized in Islam and encouraged and praised in Quran and Sunnah. The Beloved and Blessed Messenger صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ loves cleanliness. He صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ has said:

الطھور نصف الایمان

“Cleanliness is half the faith.”

(Jami Al-Tirmidhi)

Hence, all Muslims must remember to remain clean and pure on the outside and the inside. As far as the cleanliness of the apparent body is concerned, it includes keeping your body and clothes etc. clean from impurities as well as dirt and filth. In addition, comb the hair on your head and beard. Do not let your nails grow too much as they collect filth and dirt which then enters the body while having food and it may cause all sorts of diseases. Also make sure to trim the pubic and underarm hair. As for the cleanliness of the inner-self, it entails cleansing the heart from holding grudges against Muslims, arrogance and haughtiness, envy and jealousy and other such vile acts. Keeping good company is imperative for the cleanliness of the inner-self. Cleanliness of the apparent self i.e. nails, underarm hair etc. is our topic of discussion today. Let’s reap some Madani pearls in this regard:

1. Make sure to do all these things within 40 days each time: Trimming the moustache and nails, plucking the underarm hair and shaving the pubic hair. Sayyiduna Anas رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ states:A time limit has been prescribed for us for trimming the moustache and the nails, plucking hair under the armpits and shaving the pubic hair, that it should not be neglected for more than forty days.

(Sahih Muslim)

Dear Islamic brothers! The above-mentioned Hadith informs us that all these things must be done within 40 days. It is Mustahab (desirable) to shower, clean your body and shave the pubic hair once a week. It is also permissible to do it every 15 days but neglecting it for more than 40 days is disliked and impermissible. Dear Islamic brothers, if possible, try to do it every Friday because it is stated in a blessed Hadith that the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ would have his moustache trimmed and nails clipped before leaving for Jumma prayers.

Method of Trimming Nails:

Two ways of trimming nails will be explained here. Whichever of the two you act upon, you will earn the reward of following the Sunnah ان شاء اللہ عزوجل! You also have the choice to do in one way once and the other way some other time:

1. Sayyiduna Ali Al-Murtada کَرَّمَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی وَجْہَہُ الْکَرِیْم has reported the following method of trimming nails from Sunnah: Begin with the right pinky finger, then the middle finger, then thumb, then ring finger and then the index finger. After that, Moving to the left hand, start with the thumb, then the middle finger, then pinky finger, then the index finger and then ring finger, i.e. in your right hand, start trimming nails from the pinky finger and in your left hand from the thumb.

2. The second method is easier to follow and remember and it has also been proved from the Blessed Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and it goes like this: Start from the index finger on the right hand and move in sequence till you reach pinky finger, but leave the thumb. Now start with pinky finger on the left hand and move in sequence up to and including the thumb. In the end, trim the nail of the thumb on the right hand that you had left before. This way, we start with the right hand and we finish on the right as well.

Method of Trimming Toenails:

It is stated in Bahar -e- Shariat with reference to Durr -e- Mukhtar that no order has been prescribed with regards to trimming toenails. It is preferable to trim toenails in the same order which is observed during Wudu while doing Khilal (running finger through toes) i.e. start from the small toe at the very end, a.k.a. ring toe then move in the same order up to the thumb toe, then continue from the thumb toe on the left and trim all the nails up to the ring toe on the left.

2. Never bite your nails as it is disliked and may lead to vitiligo disease in which white patches of skin appear on the body.

3. Long nails are the sitting place of Satan, meaning Satan sits on them.

(Kimia -e- Sa’adat)

4. After trimming nails or hair, make sure to bury them somewhere. Disposing them in the toilet or shower is disliked as it causes diseases.

5. The Sunnah of underarm hair is to pluck them but it won’t be considered a sin if one chooses to shave them.

6. Do not pluck nose hair as it is feared that it leads to a degenerative disease.

7. It is permissible to make Khat of the beard i.e. removing extra beard hair on the cheeks.

8. It is also allowed to remove hair on the hands, legs and stomach.

9. Removing chest or back hair is not encouraged.

10. Growing the beard is a Sunnah of the Prophets and Messengers علیہم السلام. Shaving the beard or keeping it less than a fistful is Haram (forbidden). However, if it grows more than a fistful, then excess hair may be trimmed.

11. There is no harm in growing hair on both corners of the moustache. Some of the pious predecessors رحمہم اللہ had moustaches like that.

12. Start shaving your pubic hair from right beneath the navel.

13. When ritual bath is obligatory upon you, do not shave any hair nor trim nails as it is disliked.

14. Islamic sisters should not dispose of their hair in such a place where a non-Mahram might seem them.

May Almighty Allah enable us to observe cleanliness of both the inner and outer self and to act upon the Sunnah in all these matters!

What are the Five Pillars of Islam?

Value of a thing is determined by the benefits it provides. Islam and its benefits for humanity are countless. Each and every commandment of Islam indeed has much wisdom behind it. From making mention of any of Allah’s names to looking at the faces of your parents with affection every teaching of Islam is beneficial either for an individual or for a society as a whole. Islam is not like those religions which only focus upon soul and detest flesh nor is like those which always look at body and neglect the spirit. Being a perfect religion Islam pays due attention to every aspect of life. For Islam soul and body are important and as are the individual rights and collective benefits of a society.

In this article we will discuss “the pillars of Islam” the five very significant actions to be performed in Islam. The very name “pillars of Islam” is enough to comprehend their significance. If Islam is a structure than this structure is standing on these five pillars. The five pillars are as follows- Declaration of faith, prayer, fasting, alms giving and pilgrimage. In following lines these five pillars will be discussed with a brief detail.

1. The Declaration of Faith

It means to declare the faith with the conviction of heart. A new Muslim declares this by expressing his belief in oneness of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ and Prophethood of Muhammad صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم. The following Arabic sentence uttered for this purpose, لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللہِ i.e. “There is no true god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of Allah.”

2. Prayer

Muslims perform five obligatory prayers each day. These prayers are very important in a Muslim’s life. If a Muslim is regular in his prayers they strengthen his faith in and his connection with Almighty Allah. It is clearly stated in the Quran that the basic purpose of life is to worship Almighty Allah. There are different ways to worship Allah, but Salah is the most comprehensive. Ameer e Ahl-e-Sunnat the founder of Dawat-e-Islami mentions following Ahadith in his famous book “Laws of Salah” on page 100.

· The beloved and blessed Prophet صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم said, “On the Day of Judgment, the very first question that will be asked to a man out of his deeds will be about Ṣalāĥ; if his Ṣalāĥ is correct he will succeed but if it is incomplete, he will be disgraced and will suffer loss.”

· Another Hadith says, “The one who secures his Ṣalāĥ,
the Ṣalāĥ will be Nūr, evidence and salvation for him on the day of judgment; and the one who does not protect it, there will be no Nūr, evidence or salvation for him on the Day of Judgment and such a person will be kept with Pharaoh, Qārūn, Ĥāmān and Ubay bin Khalaf on the Day of Judgment.”

3. Zakat

It means to give alms to the needy people. It is not obligatory for every Muslim. Giving alms is mandatory only when some certain conditions are met.

· Sayyiduna Anas Bin Maalik رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ narrated, the Noblest
Prophet صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم has stated, ‘Pay Zakah out of your possession of wealth, it will purify you.’

4. Fasting

Every year in the Islamic lunar month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. Fast is one of the most effective methods of self-purification. It is written in the book “Blessing of Ramazan” at page no 58.

· Sayyiduna Farooq-e-Azam has narrated that the Beloved and Blessed Prophet صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم has said: ‘If anyone keeps even a single fast with silence and peace in Ramadan, Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ will make for him a palace of red rubies or green emeralds.

5. Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage to Mecca, or Hajj, is also an obligation but not for every Muslim. Like zakat it is obligatory only when some certain conditions are met. Ameer e Ahl-e-Sunnat the founder of Dawat-e-Islami while mentioning the excellences of Hajj quotes following Ahadith in his famous book “Rafiq-ul-haramayn” on page 18.

· The Prophet of Raḥmaĥ صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم has stated, ‘The Ḥājī (a person who performs Hajj) will intercede for his 400 family members and will be as free from sins as he was on the day he was born.’

· The Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلہٖ وَسَلَّم has stated, ‘The Ḥājī is forgiven and the one for whom the Ḥājī asks forgiveness is also forgiven.’

Islamic Beliefs and Modern Culture

Beliefs are the central point of any religion. The whole religion revolves around them. In order to understand a religion, we have to see the belief system of it. Why? Because it is the belief system which determines whether a particular religion is true or not. Furthermore the beliefs also determine a pathway for the followers. Experience does not feel any hesitation to proclaim that the actions of any man are the reflection of his beliefs. If we study Islam and try to understand it without any prior prejudice we will surely reach to a conclusion that Islam is not a man-made religion. It is a religion which has been granted to humanity as a gift by its creator who knows the needs of human beings. He made Islam in complete harmony with the nature of man. And we see that whosoever practices Islam perfectly finds himself in most perfect state of inner happiness and tranquility.

Muslims believe in Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ and they believe that he is All-knowing and All-seeing. Nothing can be out of his knowledge and sight. It is because of this belief that a true Muslim refrains from committing a sin. If his nafs stimulates him to infringe the right of any other human being his belief reminds him of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ The All-knowing who is watching him. And in this way his beliefs saves him from the attack of Satan. On the other hand, the blind followers of modern culture who always chase the world and joys of it are always observed to be un-mindful of their creator. They don’t know that Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ is always watching them. They don’t know that a day will come when they will be asked about each and every action of them. If they are violating the rights of others then on the Day of Judgment they will have to be answerable for it.

Dear Islamic brothers! Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ is our creator and out of His mercy he has bestowed us with many mercies. Our life, our youth, our wealth and every breath of us is a bounty and a form of mercy. But never forget that on the Day of Judgment we will be asked about all these bounties. A Hadith says:

“The son of Adam will not pass away from Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ until he is asked about five things: how he lived his life, and how he utilized his youth, with what means did he earn his wealth, how did he spend his wealth, and what did he do with his knowledge.”

(Tirmidhi)

If one asks, “What is the remedy to the disease of negligence? How can a modern man come out of the influence of modern culture?” The answer is Islam. If we follow the footsteps of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and act upon the teachings he came with, surely we will be secured from the poisonous effects of the modern culture. The following hadith will be beneficial in this regard. “Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your youth before you become old; and your health, before you fall sick; and your wealth, before you become poor; and your free time before you become busy; and your life, before your death.” Another thing which has driven the modern man mad is wealth. Wealth is the central point in modern culture and whole culture revolves around it. In this culture wealth is an end on its own. They always run behind it. A time comes when they have wealth but they have lost every other thing. Wealth makes them oblivious of their relatives, friends, children, society and even their own health. At the end we find them in deplorable condition where this greed leaves them broken and exhausted.

Islam does not like this kind of attitude. In Islam wealth is just a means out of many for attaining the pleasure of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ. It is not an end on its own. Islam does not like a person who madly pursues wealth and ends up into the whirls of greed. A Hadith says:

“The Messenger of Allah, عَزَّ وَجَلَّ said, “If the son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would want to have two valleys. Nothing fills his mouth but the dust of the grave, yet Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّwill accept whoever repents to him.”

May Almighty Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ grants us His love and love of His Beloved Prophet and May we be freed from the love of Dunya! Ameen

ولی کسے کہتے ہیں؟ جواب: اللہ پاک کے وہ محبوب و مقبول بندے جواللہ و رسول صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّمَ کی محبت میں اپنی خواہشوں کو فنا کر دیتے ہیں اورہر وقت خدااوررسولصَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّمَکی اطاعت وفرمانبرداری میں مصروف رہتے ہیں، اولیاء اللہ کہلاتے ہیں۔ اس تعریف کو پڑھ کرآپ یہ سوچ رہےہوں گے کہ ولایت ملتی کیسے ہے؟ تو اس کا آسان سا جواب یہ ہے: ولایت محض اللہتعالٰی کاتحفہ ہے رب کریم اپنے نیک بندوں کو اپنے خاص فضل سے عطا کرتا ہے۔ ہاں عبادت گزاری کبھی کبھار اس کا ذریعہ بن جاتی ہے اور بعض تو ماں کے پیٹ سے ہی ولی پیدا ہوتے ہیں۔

محترم قارئین!ولی کے لئے علم ضروری ہے،خواہ وہ ظاہری طور پر حاصل کرے یاولایت کے مرتبہ پر پہنچنے سےپہلے اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اپنے پاس سے خاص علم و فضل عطا کردے، کیونکہ علم کے بغیر آدمی ولی نہیں ہوسکتا۔ جہاں تک شریعت کی پابندی کی بات ہے تو یہ بات ہمیشہ ذہن میں رہے کہ کوئی ولی کتنا ہی بڑا کیوں نہ ہو کبھی بھی شریعت کے احکامات کی پابندی سے آزاد نہیں ہوسکتا، بلکہ ولی تو ہوتا ہی وہ ہے جو احکام شرعیہ کی مکمل پاسداری کرتا ہے، جو خود کو شریعت سے آزاد سمجھ کر دعوی ولایت کرے تو یقیناً وہ شخص گمراہ بددین تو ہے مگر ولی کسی صورت نہیں، ولی کی پہچان اس حدیث قدسی سے ہوتی ہے۔ چنانچہ

نبی کریم صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہِ وَسَلَّمَ نے ارشاد فرمایا:

پیارے آقا عَلَیْہِ الصَّلَاۃُ وَالسَّلَام فرماتے ہیں کہ اللہ پاک نے ارشاد فرمایا:کوئی بندہ میرے فرائض کی ادائیگی سے بڑھ کر کسی اور چیز سے میرا قرب حاصل نہیں کرسکتا۔(فرائض کے بعد) نوافل سے مزید میرا قرب حاصل کرتا جاتا ہے یہاں تک کہ میں اسے محبوب بنا لیتا ہوں تو میں اس کے کان بن جاتا ہوں جن سے وہ سنتا ہے اور اس کی آنکھ بن جا تا ہوں جن سے وہ دیکھتا ہے اور اس کے ہا تھ بن جا تا ہوں جن سے وہ پکڑتا ہے اور اس کے پاؤں بن جا تا ہوں جن سے وہ چلتا ہے اور اگر وہ مجھ سے سوال کرے تو میں اسے ضرور عطا کرتا ہوں۔

سبحٰن اللہ!مذکورہ حدیث پاک سے چند باتیں آسانی سے سمجھ آتی ہیں۔

· فرائض و واجبات کی پابندی اللہ کریم کا قرب پانے کا ذریعہ ہے۔

· حدیث پاک میں جہاں کان،آنکھ،ہاتھ اور پاؤں بننے کا ذکر ہے اس سے مراد یہ ہے کہ اللہ کریم ان بندوں کو خاص قوتیں اور اختیارات عطافرماتا ہےجن کی بدولت یہ وہ دیکھتے ہیں جو عام انسان نہیں دیکھ پاتے یہ وہ سن لیتے ہیں جو عام انسان نہیں سن پاتے ان کے ہاتھوں سے ایسی ایسی باتیں صادر ہوتی ہیں جو ایک عام انسان سے نہیں ہو سکتیں اور یہ مہینوں کے سفر پل بھر میں طے کر لیتے ہیں جو کہ عام انسان سے ممکن ہی نہیں اس طرح کے اور بہت سے ایسے اعمال ان سے صادر ہوتے ہیں جو عام لوگوں کی عقل میں نہیں آتے،عرف عام میں اسی کو کرامت بهی کہتے ہیں۔

· اللہپاک ان کی دعائیں قبول کرتا ہے۔

· یہ اللہ والے شکر کی ایسی کیفیت کو جانتے ہیں جو نعمتوں کو دوام بخشتی ہے۔ زندگی کے کسی بھی لمحے خود کو اللہ پاک کی اطاعت اور خوشنودی کے راستے سے نہیں ہٹنے دیتے،اللہ پاک کی نعمتوں پر شکر اور آزمائشوں پر صبر کرتے ہیں۔

ہمیں حدیث پاک سے کیا سبق ملا؟

محترم قارئین کرام! جیساکہ مذکورہ حدیث پاک سے ہمیں معلوم ہوا کہ اللہ کریم اپنا قرب اسے عطافرماتا ہے جو نیک، متقی اور فرمانبردار ہو، اب ہم اس حدیث پاک کے تناظر میں دور حاضر میں ان لوگوں کا جائزہ لیں جو خود کو اللہ کا ولی تو کہتے ہیں مگر ہمیں ان میں وہ صفات اور نشانیاں نظر نہیں آتیں جو ایک اللہ کےولی میں ہونی چاہییں جیساکہ نماز، روزہ نیکی کی دعوت دینا برائی سے منع کرنا اور شریعت کے تمام احکامات پر ہمیشہ کار بند رہنا، ہر قسم کے غیر شرعی کاموں سے خود کو بچائے رکھنا، غیر محرم خواتین سے میل جول نہ رکھنا، رقص و سرور کی محافل سے اجتناب کرنا اور اپنی زندگی کو اطاعت خداوندی اور خدمت خلق میں گزارانا وغیرہ اورتمام قسم کے شیطانی کاموں سے دور رہنا،اللہ کے بندوں کی مدد کرنا وغیرہ۔

دور حاضر کے نام نہاد ولی:

مگر دور حاضر میں ولایت کا دعویٰ کرنے والے نام نہاد لوگ نہ تو نماز پڑھتے ہیں نہ پڑھنا آتی ہے، نہ شریعت پر عمل کرتے ہیں نہ یہ معلوم ہے کہ شریعت ہے کیا؟ ان جیسوں نے اسلام کو بدنام کر رکھا ہے،پیری مریدی کے نام پر غیر محرم خواتین کو قریب کر کے اپنی شیطانی خواہشات کو پورا کرتے ہیں،لوگوں کو اپنے فریب کے جال میں پھنسا کر نذرانے کے نام پر بھاری رقوم ہتھیاتے ہیں، اپنے غلیظ مقاصد کی خاطر اپنے گمراہی کے اڈوں کو آستانوں کے نام سے منسوب کرتے ہیں۔ یاد رکھیئے! ایسے لوگ خود تو برباد ہوتے ہی ہیں دوسروں کو بھی برباد کردیتے ہیں اور یہی نہیں بلکہان کی وجہ سے دین اسلام کی بھی بدنامی ہوتی ہے اور ا س میں کسی نہ کسی طرح ہمارا بھی قصور ہے کہ ہمیں معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ یہ شخص نماز تک نہیں پڑھتا اس کے باوجود ہم اپنی مرادوں کے لئے ایسوں کےپا س جاتے اور لوگوں کو بھی ترغیب دلاتے ہیں اور یہ نام نہاد پیر اور ان کے پاس جانے والے لوگ اسلام کو ناقابل تلافی نقصان پہنچاتے ہیں۔ لہٰذا ایسے لوگوں سے اپنا دین وایمان، مال و متاع اور عزت وآبرو محفوظ رکھیں اورآنے والی نسلوں کو بھی ان جیسے لوگوں کی نشاندہی کروائیں تاکہ وہ جعلی پیروں فقیروں کے غلیظ مقاصد کا نشانہ نہ بنیں۔

ہم کہاں جائیں؟

بلاشبہ جہاں اس طرح کے جعلی پیر فقیر لوگوں کو لو ٹ رہے ہیں وہیں اس کرۂ ارض پر اللہ کے سچے ولی فیض لٹا رہے ہیں، جن کی صحبت لاکھوں افراد کو گناہوں بھری زندگی سے نیکیوں کی طرف راغب کرچکی ہے۔ دور حاضر میں ہی ایک علمی، روحانی اور مذہبی شخصیت شیخ طریقت، امیر اہلسنت، بانئ دعوت اسلامی حضرت علامہ مولانا ابو بلال محمدالیاس عطار قادری دَامَتْ بَرْکَاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ کی ذات سچے اللہوالوں کی ایک مثال ہے، جن کے اصلاح امت کے جذبے نے لاکھوں لوگوں کو قرآن وسنت کا پابند اور اللہ ورسول سے محبت کرنے والا بنا دیا، آئیے آپ بھی اس مردِ حق، ولی کامل، عاشقِ صادق کے کاروان’’دعوت اسلامی‘‘ میں شامل ہوکر اپنی اور ساری دنیا کے لوگوں کی اصلاح کے لیے کمر بستہ ہو جائیے۔
