Rudraksha - The Eye of Shiva

Rudraksha is a large evergreen broad-leaved tree whose seed is traditionally used for prayer beads in Hinduism.

Scientific name: Elaeocarpus ganitrus

Rudraksha meaning—the eye of Rudra [Shiva] is considered to be the most potent manifestation of the Cosmic Force. Hence Rudraksha is the object of veneration and also the source to reach the higher self.Rudraksha is often believed to symbolize the link between the earth and the heaven. These beads are the seeds of the Rudraksha fruit obtained from Rudraksha trees. The Rudrakasha tree is botanically known as ELAEOCARPUS GANITRUS ROXB. Its English name is UTRASUM BEAD TREE.

Rudraksha trees are mostly found in South Eastern Asian Islands of Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, Iran, Java, Timor (Indonesia) and parts of South Asian Kingdom of Nepal. Around 70% of the Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, 25% in Nepal and 5% in India. Considered a major stress reliever, reducing circulatory problems and of course as the best beads, the berry (Elaeocarpus Ganitrus) was first spotted in Indonesia and is now grown in Nepal and Hardwar. However, because it is expensive, clinical research of its medicinal properties has not been possible, often resulting in the berry being subjected to esoteric mumbo jumbo.There are clefts called MUKHIS on the surface of the beads. The number of mukhis on the surface of a Rudrakasha bead helps in determining its quality. According to the number of mukhis the rudrakasha bead ranges from single face to a several faced bead. Asians have used Rudraksha beads traditionally. Asian Yogis and Monks found that merely wearing the Rudraksha beads gave them astonishingly tremendous amount of tranquility, concentration that helped them meditate for a long period of time with spectacular control over their mind.

Rudraksha is often believed to symbolize the link between earth and heaven, and though Hindu scriptures like the updated Jabal Rudrakasha Upanishad have made the berries their own, modern scholars and gurus have described them as being of no particular religion or rather non religious and have pointed out that they can be used as a mala, rosary or tasbih (sibah).

Though mired in obscurity so far, the Rudraksha is slowly but surely making its way into the lives of the health conscious human beings. Whether it proves to be a panacea remains to be seen.

Among the 38 varieties mentioned out of which 21 are most conspicuous the rarest is the one faceted or one - mouthed (the one with a single cleft) Rudrasksha. While the two - mouthed ones are supposed to have magical, mystic & Hypnotic powers - The powers of being able to influence others, the three mouth ones are said to bring good luck. Wear the four - mouthed one and be an object of desire for the opposite sex. But one more cleft and you will achieve salvation! Why do people lie !!!

A lie is an intentionally false statement to a person or group made by another person or group who knows it is not wholly the truth.

I have been wondering why people always Lie.

There are several factors to consider. But on a high level, Hide can be categorized in to intentional and unintentional.

But all Lies are intentional. People never lie without knowing. They lie due to the fear. Since they are afraid of losing something they lie. It’s better to stop lying and be bold enough to let the truth known to the others.

Either they are not really interested in sharing this with you, or they don’t want you to know or they think you are no part of that info, so you should not know it.

Eventually what happens is for hiding one lie, people end up saying 100's of lies.

Has anybody thought what makes a person lie? Direct answer would be fear !!! Fear that one might lose something like relationship, reputation, trust etc.

Sometimes it’s really hard to let the truth know to everybody, but its real hard to hide it and not let it out. A Truth hurts most when it’s hidden. Its your world. Feel free to do what you want. But do the right thing. And when you do it, or intend to do it, don’t hide it. There is no use hiding it , There is no use doing something with a fear. When you are feared of letting other’s know what you are doing , then why do it.

Once you get caught lying about something, which will hurt more than anything for life time and forever whatever you tell will seem to be a lie.

Be yourself, don’t be afraid of anything. When you talk the truth you will feel better about yourself. You will feel more proud about yourself.

Lucky, we have heard many times, people around say, ahhh this time i had been very lucky, due to my luck i have achieved something !!! For a Few Luck always Favours, and few of them, always considers themselves unlucky. Is there something reallly Lucky or Unlucky ???

Luck or chance is an event which occurs beyond one's control, without regard to one's will, intention or desired result. We need to understand what Luck means.,

Luck can be good or bad.
Luck can be accident or chance.
Luck applies to an entity.

Some examples of luck:

Finding a valuable object or money
Winning an event despite negative logical assumptions
You correctly guess an answer in a quiz which you did not know.
Avoiding an accident at the last moment
Being born in a wealthy family

Hypothetically, in a godless universe, there are bound to be people who suffer from extraordinary bad luck, statistically speaking. The odds against anyone being that person are probably rather large, considering all of the opportunities for good and bad luck to take effect, but, for argument's sake, let us suppose that you suffer from bad luck and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

If you're going to suffer from bad luck no matter what, then the only thing that you can really do is alter your perception of the world around you, and maybe even redefine what it means to be "lucky." I don't mean for you to put a sh-eating grin on your face and think happy thoughts all of the time, but just relax and enjoy the ride. You're here, life sucks, that's it. Use it. I don't know how. Write angsty poetry about how God has it out for you, or about that one love you'll never get back, or the job and dreams that will never come your way. Write stories about it, or paint, or just stand next to people who are having a bad day and point out that you're doing much worse and they should cheer up.

If your bad luck holds out, then whatever you do will be stolen by someone else and they'll make a crapton of money from it and you'll be stuck right where you are now, looking on Yahoo Answers for some glimmer of hope.

It's about perspective. Maybe your life is the worst, but I bet it isn't. If you want to be happier, do things for other people. Volunteer and do some good. The more you do, the more people will be drawn to you. Smile and sing for no reason. Some people will hate it and some people will love it. Be you as big and as best as you can, and someone, somewhere will be drawn to it.

But really, there is no need for hope. Life isn't worth it. It's totally pointless. I mean that in the most positive way. Even the luckiest person in the world, who succeeds at everything will one day die and rot in the ground and be forgotten by the world that will be devoured by the sun that will burn out and spiral ever inward as the galaxy collapses on itself and the universe degenerates into a swirling nothing of supermassive black holes and thermal energy. Even this will be ripped apart as quantum fluctuations shred the very fabric of what we consider reality, and a new universe stretches its physics-less mass and obliterates even the very molecules that once made you and me.

Keep things in perspective.

Once i read an article, if you give both the "lucky" and the "unlucky" people a newspaper and asked them to look through it and tell them how many photographs were inside. We can find that on average the unlucky people took two minutes to count all the photographs, whereas the lucky ones determined the number in a few seconds.
How could the "lucky" people do this? Because they found a message on the second page that read, "Stop counting. There are 43 photographs in this newspaper." So why didn't the unlucky people see it? Because they were so intent on counting all the photographs that they missed the message.

"Unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties intent on finding their perfect partner, and so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through the newspaper determined to find certain job advertisements and, as a result, miss other types of jobs. Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there, rather than just what they are looking for."

People who we often consider lucky are more relaxed and open to what's going on around them. They're not focused on a single task, blocking out everything else so much that they miss something important and unexpected. What this experiment demonstrates is that luck may not so much be luck, but whether or not our mindset leaves us open to opportunities we would otherwise miss because we're so absolutely sure of what we want.

If I had to drive through five sets of traffic lights - if all the lights change to red every time I get to them then that is unlucky regardless of how "open" I am.

Than again, maybe if the lights had all been green I would be in a different place at a different time, which might result in some other incident occurring that could be considered unlucky. In which case the fact that the lights were red would actually be "lucky".

The difference between Lucky and Unlucky in three words, Depth of focus. A have a friend that will NEVER find a girlfriend. Why? because he is aiming for the "ultra hottie" and he does not have the assets to pull that off. He says he is unlucky, I say he's sets his sights too high with too narrow of a depth of field. I set my sights wide angle with an infinite depth of focus and zoom in when needed, then zoom back out when I am done with that task.

The number of people I see every day that walk their daily routine with blinders on is amazing. I find money on the ground a LOT, I tend to notice things, I also notice that every time I find cash, I will watch 5-20 people walk right past it without noticing it. They are too busy with what they are used to, cant deviate from my ritual every morning. Cant change. These same people also do not notice a glorious sunrise, or that the Buttercups bloomed this morning, I stopped and picked one... They see their narrow path, do what I did yesterday... morning ritual, must not deviate.....

You make your own luck, just like you make your own success. Typically those that make one always make the other. The key to luck is that most people will not bother with paying attention. That fact makes it easier for those of us that do.

I'm lucky because I always pick up pennies.

Seriously though, I consider myself a lucky person because bad things don't just happen to me. If something does go wrong, it's usually because I made a bad or wrong choice, not because the world is out to get me. I do pickup pennies though because they're free money and it's fun

Considering yourself lucky doesn't mean you *are* lucky. Those are different things entirely. It's the same as considering yourself nice, or charitable, or a good driver, or smart — it doesn't mean that you actually *are*. The study should have come up with an objective definition of "lucky", and used it, not a blatantly subjective one that is susceptible to self-identity biases.

All we get from this that observant — and gullible — people feel lucky.

How did the lucky people know that the message on page 2 was not a lie? They wouldn't have been so lucky if it had been a lie, now would they?

Ironically perhaps, the "unlucky" people — who determined the answer for themselves — are confident they got the right number. The "lucky" people who believed the message take it on faith — from an anonymous, unreliable source — and don't *really* know.

The Head of King Henry IV of France was found preserved in an attic in 2010.

It might seem a little strange that the head of a king was in the attic of a tax collector, instead of located on his buried body. The explanation is no less strange.
King Henry IV ruled France from 1589 to his death in 1610. Many attempts had been made on his life as king. One such attempt left him with a gash across his upper lip.
While in Paris in 1610, his carriage was stopped in the congested streets and he was assassinated. It was expected for him to be buried at the Basilica of St. Denis, north of Paris, where nearly every French king had been buried since 900 AD.
His body was embalmed and interred with the kings before him, and was left alone for almost two centuries. In 1793, during the French Revolution, a number of unusual decrees were issued (such as changing calendars and clocks).
One of these ordered the destruction of all royal tombs, including the one Henry IV was in. A mob tore through the crypt and pulled apart the royal corpses. They were carried outside and had quicklime poured over them to make them decompose faster.
As a result, most of the bones at St. Denis were lost. For a while, it was thought that no royal remains survived the French Revolution, but rumors continued to creep up. In 1919, the head of Henry IV was found and sold at an auction. Joseph-Emile Bourdais, the photographer who purchased it, could not convince any museums it was authentic.
When Joseph-Emile died, his widow then sold the head in 1955 to a tax collector named Jacques Bellanger. There the head remained until a journalist looked at it in 2010, and it was confirmed to be that of Henry IV.

One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"Very good Dad!" replied his son.

The other side

A father was reading a magazine and his little daughter every now and then distracted him.

Trying to keep her busy, he tore out one page on which was printed the map of the world. He then tore the page into pieces and asked her to go to her room and put them together to make the map again.

He was sure she would take the whole day to get it done. But the little one came back within minutes with the perfect map…
When he asked how she could do it so quickly, she said, “Oh… Dad, there is a man’s face on the other side of the paper… I made the face perfect to get the map right.” She ran outside to play leaving the father surprised.

Reflection:
There is always the other side to whatever you experience in this world. This story indirectly teaches a lesson. i.e. whenever we come across a challenge or a puzzling situation, look at the other side… You will be surprised to see an easy way to tackle the problem.

Nobody Ever sees the other side of it.
