Take Two

2014-06-17T11:01:00.000-07:00

Hello, wow its been such a long time since I've actually sat down and wrote something on here. For the past few months I have been flipping between wanting to carry on this blog and deleting it. At this point I have deleted it twice but never been able to go through with it. I stopped writing because quite a few people at school found out about this blog and my you tube channel. Some of the comments were less then complimentary but after to talking to some of my close friends I am making the leap and writing and filming again (I'm a bit scared to be honest).

Now I have finished my exams for this year its properly a good time to start as I'm very close to finishing for summer. I will try my best to keep this up and hopefully it will go slightly better.

Thank You

Beth

Mac Russian Red

2014-01-12T03:04:00.000-08:00

Hiya today I am giving a review of my newest MAC lipstick Russian red. As the name suggests this lipstick is a dark matte red colour. It has amazing staying power, that really does last all day (even through eating and drinking). One of my favourite things about this colour is that its slightly darker then any red I already have, perfect for winter time. I also love that its matte, when wearing red I prefer a matte look apposed to a glossy lip, just cause I think it looks more classic.

Also cause this is a blue tones red it makes your teeth look super white!

Thanks

Long time no see

2013-12-20T05:56:00.001-08:00

Wow its been a long time! I can only apologise, life just got in the way a little but as of today I now have two weeks of school for Christmas. Hopefully I will get quite a few blog posts up. I don't really have anything to talk about today I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you and I should be back to normal very soon.
Happy Christmas by the way.

November bucket list

2013-11-03T13:59:00.002-08:00

Hey hope you all had a good Halloween and are all excited for bonfire night. This month I have decided to make the most of the month because its nearing the end of the year and I still feel like I have a few things I would like to do, so here's Novembers bucket list.

Got to have a silly picture

start buying Christmas gifts (yes this year I wont leave it to Christmas eve)
carry on my spending ban for buying non-essentials
write some more blog posts
take a walk by the river (I never do this I always walk in the wood but the river in the city is beautiful and I really should spend some time down there)
spend more time with friends
go to the gym more

I think that's enough to be getting on with this month but hopefully I will manage everything. I might make this a regular thing because sometimes I get so wrapped up in big things (e.g. school and events) that I forget to do the little things that I really enjoy.

Whats your aims for November?
Thanks

Top 5 blushes

2013-10-18T07:47:00.002-07:00

Hey I wanted to share my top 5 blushes with you today as blushes have to be my favourite makeup item.

1.Bobbi Brown Lip and cheek tint, powder pink 6
This is a cream blush that gives a very natural flush to the cheeks

2.Collection shimmer shades, blushalious
4 shades that you swirl together to create a radiant glow

3.MUA, bubble gum
A hot pink blush with no shimmer that gives you a 'just been out in the cold' look (if you get me)

4.Chanel due blush, tweed pink 10
A very shimmery highlight/blush that gives a very 'barbie' look (in a good way)

5.Top cream blush , neon rose
This looks very scary but really it leaves a very natural peach pink tone to the cheek.

Hoped you liked that?
Thanks

Friends

2013-09-23T14:12:00.000-07:00

Hi today I am writing one of those 'deep' life posts, so I'm sorry if that's not for you but I quiet like getting things of my chest and if they have any impact on anybody else, then that's a plus point. The topic today is friends, which may seem a little open and slightly random but being a 16 year old girl trying to scramble through school while keeping friends, trying to have boyfriends and doing well in school, its very important.

In school your friends are the ones that are going be with you every step of the way helping you through whatever s**t school decided to throw at you and you really need to know who your friends are and which ones are going throw it back in your face.

At the moment I have just started 6th form, which for me doesn't mean leaving my school but it does mean loads more new people coming and changing up a few friendship groups that have formed throughout the years. This can be scary but it can also be such an adventure.

Now I have had the same few close friends for a number of years and it all worked till we had the bombshell that one was leaving to live at the other side of the world. This is one of the biggest things I have had to deal with and unless you have gone through the same things I'm sorry you just wont get it. But this has meant that as group of 4 now we have become very close and the idea of having people coming and ruining this has scared me all summer. In my head we were going drift apart leaving us saying hi in the corridor and all walking our separate ways. I was wrong.

Yes new people have become friends with us but that hasn't changed how we are friends with each other because we have been through so much that others wont understand and that cant just be erased and discarded.

So what am banging on about? I think what I am trying to say is although change may seem big and too much it sometimes means you get to see who your true friends are and what they really mean to you.

I hope that was of some use to somebody maybe someone that has just started a new school or collage but it was just nice to actually write it down so I don't really mind if anyone else doesn't find it helpful.

I like writing these types of post, what do you think? Maybe I could write about another topic e.g. boys or school? Just an idea.

Thanks

New School Bag

2013-09-02T03:27:00.001-07:00

Hi as I am still in school I felt it obligatory to write something about going back. So I wanted to tell you about my new school bag cause I think it is just beautiful and everyone needs it in their life, whether your at school or not.

This is it and its from H and M, it has a zip opening with three small pockets inside (one with a zip, one for your phone and and extra one). It has poppers on either side to open the bag more if you wish and it has two handles (one over the shoulder and one across the body).

The bag has tonnes of room inside and the two different handles are really useful. I also really like that it has a textured surface to it as I think this will hide marks and scratches more.

Anyway that's my bag, now I've got to get back to been in denial about going back to school tomorrow.

Catch up, New camera and Race Day

2013-08-24T05:16:00.002-07:00

Hello everybody, this post is going to be a little random as I just need to update you all but my next post will be far more structured.

So first point is that recently I not been writing as much on my blog as i would like to.this is because a) I have had things going on in my life and b) I have felt I have been lacking some what in imagination of what to write on my blog.If you have being reading for a while you will be aware that I do go through stages of this, but I'm now back.

Second point is that I bought myself a big ass camera (no that's not the real name, it's a Nikon DLSR). I have been after one of these for so so long and I finally got one. This effects you cause my blog post will now come with shiny nice pictures (also if you watch my YouTube channel my videos will also be new and shiny).

Here are some pictures that I took on its first outing to the races yesterday.

DIY lace cami

2013-08-14T08:00:00.000-07:00

Hi, so the other day I went to Primark and picked up one of their chiffon cami tops (very similar to topshops) for £5. It's my second one cause I love them so much and was very disappointed when I realised I picked up a size too small. Instead of returning it (which would involve a train journey) or getting rid of it I decided to give it a bit of a makeover and I think I like it even better now. Here it is:

Front

back

label added

To this you will need:
Cami
Lace
Sewing machine/needle and thread
Scissors
Label (if adding)

1. to start with you need to lay your cami on the floor or table and draw a line down the centre from the top to the bottom. Cut along this line to open the top up.

2. With the right sides together pin the lace and one side of the top together, stitch this in place. Complete on the other side.

3. To finish off the top and bottom turn over the lace twice to cover the raw edge.

4. You can add a little label like I did by using ribbon with your chosen words on and stitching that in place.

Hope you like my DIY.

Thanks

Barry M Gelly Nails

2013-08-13T08:00:00.001-07:00

Hello I am so excited to blog today cause I'm talking about the Barry M gelly nails and I am very impressed by them. To say that I was sceptical about them is an understatement, I really wasn't expecting a lot from them. But they have really surprised me. They go on really nicely and very shiny and last about 5 days before major chipping and the biggest selling point for me, the shine lasts that long as well.

The colour grapefruit

One coat

Two coats after 4 days

Have you tried the gelly nails?

Thanks

Clinique high impact curling mascara

2013-07-22T02:26:00.000-07:00

Hi today I wanted to show you the new mascara in my life. For a long time now I have been a a big fan of Max factor 2000 calorie mascara but I may have found one that is lightly better but it does come with a heavy price tag.

This mascara retails for £17, although allot more expensive then the max factor one that retails for £5.99 it does do a bloody good job, just look at the pictures.

one coat of the mascara

I think the key to this mascara is the curled wand, when I fist got this mascara I was a little worried about the curled wand case I have never really got on with them in the past. But boy was I wrong this mascara is so easy to apply.

The formula of this is also great, I wore it all day and it did not budge even in the heat we have been having.

Saying all these good things would I trade it in for my max factor 2000 calorie? Well I do love it but Max factor have got the upper hand here I'm afraid, only because this gives great length but lacks in the volume front.

Have you tried this mascara?

Thanks

Review: MUA cream blusher in Dolly

2013-07-04T03:07:00.003-07:00

Hi today I wanted to tell you about the MUA cream blush that I picked up recently. Now I've wanted one of these blushers ever since they came out but my local superdrug has not stocked them so when I saw them recently I snatched one up right away. I got the shade Dolly which is a peachy shade with a pink under tone.

The texture of the blush is lovely, it melts onto the skin and blends into a flush of colour, brilliant if you are a little nervous of blending blush.

You can pick these blushes up from superdrug for £2 each.

Have you tried any MUA blush?

Thanks

Life is not a dress rehearsal

2013-06-30T09:46:00.000-07:00

Hi today isn't my usually 'looking at pretty things' post but I hope you will still enjoy it. I want to talk about life. Big statement I know, but talking to friends recently has made me realise that my life hasn't being hard or particularly challenging. Now I'm not saying that my life is perfect and I spring out of bed each morning ready to grab every opportunity, but compared to other people nothing bad has happened that has really broken me. I am fully aware that there will be some people wanting to throw things at the screen right now but give me a chance to make my point.

couldn't let you go picture less could I?
(taken by me)

Because of the lack of hurt that I have felt in my life I sometimes take it for granted and I complain about things that in the grand scheme don't matter and aren't even worth a second thought. Talking to people recently has made me realise that I should stop taking this for granted and just be happy with what I have and take a second to look at what others have and what they have gone through.

I think what I am trying to say in a backward sort of way is that life is not a dress rehearsal and instead of complaining I should live life with no regrets because there are people who suffer far greater then I have or ever will.

Now I'm not naive I am fully aware that there are days that you don't want to get out of bed and a smile is hard to manage but maybe we could all put what ever is troubling us out of our head just for a minute to smile just once about something. However small.

I really hope that none of you reading have gone through really hard times but I know sometimes bad things do happen. If you are someone going through something bad or have experienced it in the past I hope you found this in someway slightly useful. If your someone like me maybe we can both try and smile a little more. Slightly more light hearted post coming very soon.

Thanks
Beth xxx

P.S I hope nobody feels I sounded spoilt or anything I am aware how lucky I am.
