DeviantlyMe, My Fallout Shelter's and Bluestacks...The Gamer Goddess Approves!!!

FALLOUT SHELTER: This game is addicting but I have quickly come to realize I kind of suck at it so far. My poor Vault Dwellers never seem to be happy lol. Poor people. In my three Vaults, I have managed to get two of the vaults to procreate so far haha. One is pregnant in one shelter. The other shelter My Dwellers have given birth twice. One female, One male and they are almost to the point of becoming mature adults. This game is a good time suck for sure. I spent about three hours tonight moving between my three shelters. I am truly glad they let you create more than one shelter to switch to because if it were only one, it would be boring. The only reason I say that is because sitting waiting to collect your resources would be boring. The game is fun and I see myself playing for a long time to come. It definitely makes time fly without realizing it. My rating below is for my current amount of game play time in, which is about right around 6 hours or so. If at a later point I rethink my current rating, I will or course post another rating/review.

Game: Fallout Shelter:
Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play mobile simulation video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, with assistance by Behavior Interactive, and published by Bethesda Softworks.

I score this game: 4.5 out of 5 Stars.

I play this game typically on My laptop via Bluestacks, instead of my cell. I am a PC/Laptop addict especially when it comes to gaming. Yes gamers... I am also saying I am TEAM PC Gamer instead of TEAM Console in the console wars lol. I know, I know... Hard to believe a PC Gamer Girl hehehe. Get over it. I will always choose PC Gaming over console gaming. That is not however saying that I don't enjoy Console gaming. I do, very much. I am a well rounded Gamer Goddess after all. ;)
I will say this and only this and then leave it at that... When it comes to the consoles war, My choice will always be Nintendo. Period. End of story. No changing my mind. That is a topic for another post however hahaha.

If you don't already know what Bluestacks is, BlueStacks App Player lets you run mobile apps fast and fullscreen on Windows and Mac. It allows you to use the program to download and play Android apps/games on your PC/Laptop just like using the apps on your cell phones in a simple download and install and your quickly on your way to using all your fave apps on your PC/Laptop. I love this program.

Then I decided to call it a night on My Fallout addiction, to turn to another guilty pleasure.... BINGO. I have downloaded about 5 different BINGO games/apps between playing on Bluestack and Windows app store via Windows 10. It is another huge time suck for Me. I think Bingo is calming to my soul for some reason. Whatever the reason...it is a huge favorite of mine. Only thing I love more in the world of gaming is my MMORPG's and RPG's. From WoW to ArchAge and beyond... I am a Gamer Addict, and I do not discriminate between genres hehehe.

YouTube, Etsy, Tutorial... Oh My!!!

I had to share this with you my bloggy friends. I hope you enjoy it and are as touched by them as I was.

I know I don't usually share YouTube vids on my blog, but from now on I think I will start sharing ones that I find amazing, beautiful, touching or useful. I will also be sharing crafting vids of mine, and others I have found useful off Youtube!

If you have never checked out OmarGoshTV on YouTube, I highly suggest it. He is good for many laughs with his pranks. He also has a few amazing videos where he helps people such as the one above. Go check out his channel and subscribe! I just found him today and I had to subscribe.

As an update, I am currently working on a new line of beautiful hand beaded cuffs for my store as well as working on launching my own Store Website for Freak Unique Designs. As for my Etsy shop.... I know it is bare at the moment. That is because I am redoing it all, and adding all new products to it as well. It will be relaunched very soon. I will be keeping my Etsy shop even though I will be running my own website storefront making it double easy for you to own a Freak Unique Designs Original. I think you will all be pleasantly surprised by all the changes in the works. It will be ready very soon.... I promise. That is why I have not been very active on the blog. Time seems to be my enemy at times.

Another reason my blog has been slow is because I moved my father from Florida up here to Pittsburgh so I can take care of him. He has Alzheimer's and Dementia along with bad heart problems. I have been taking my time trying to make sure he his comfortable here and getting him acclimated to his new home.

I will have a tutorial up soon on how to make hand beaded cuffs from scratch. I am making the tutorial as I work on my newest cuff. Once I'm done with the cuff and tutorial... You will be the first to know and see it HERE!!!

New Tablet!

OK guys, I need to first apologize for the lack of recent posts. As most of you already know I have been battling quite a few health problems. My biggest being uterine cancer. With all thats going on, it takes me away from my computer a lot. Well I have great news I have to share with you all.... drum roll please ;)

Hubby dearest bought me a super AWESOME Tablet!!!!!! I adore it so much. I will be doing an official review of the tablet real soon, so keep your eyes peeled. This tablet now allows me to blog from anywhere. Be it at home in my recliner on days i'm not feeling well, on the go ANYWHERE, or even at the hospital. That means I will no longer fall behind on my blog posts.

Right now i'm downloading a few different blogger apps to see which one works best for me. Once I find the perfect fit, ill be posting a review of all the apps, for all of my fellow bloggers out there.

Recipe of the Week: Sofrito (1/31/13)

Recipe of the Week: Sofrito

Sofrito is a versatile, aromatic puree of tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, onions, and garlic. It's the foundation of many Spanish influenced dishes. There are many variations of this recipe. This one uses ingredients that are easy to find in any grocery store for those who do not live near a Caribbean or West Indian grocer. I find using Sofrito that I tend to use it in a lot of things from making rice extra yummy, to adding it to eggs. It is super easy to make and a perfect pairing to a lot of dishes.

Store sofrito in a glass container in the refrigerator for immediate use or freeze sofrito in 1/4 to 1/2 cup portions for use at any time.

Prep Time: 15 minutes Yields: 1 quart

Ingredients:

2 medium green peppers, seeds removed
1 red sweet pepper, seeds removed
2 large tomatoes
2 medium onions, peeled
1 head of garlic, peeled
1 bunch cilantro leaves
1/2 bunch parsley leaves

Preparation:

1. Chop and blend all the ingredients in a food processor or blender.

2. Store in glass container in the fridge or freezer for use any time to add a flare to your food.

Hospital

I apologize for the lack of posts this month. I had a very bad viral lung infection, that has left me hospitalized twice within this month. I just got home from the hospital last night. I spent a week in the hospital. I am well now, and will resume normal posting again. I would also like to thank all of you who emailed me wondering if I was OK while I was gone. It warms my heart that you all care and worry about me.

Later today I will be posting our recipe of the week. I know how much everyone looks forward to easy to make delish recipes. Now as my blog fans know you can leave comments here or email me anytime with suggestions, questions or anything in between. I always look forward to hearing from you all. I'm starting a new project now that I'm back home and in better health. As you know I had been working on a clutch purse. Well I need a stylish yet suitable handle. Instead of buying one from the craft store I have decided to make my own. I will be using some adorable zig zag ribbon that is rather stiff in terms of ribbon. I will be hand beading black and white seed beads onto it. Once I get it started I will take some pics for you to see. Then when all done I can finally showcase the clutch.

Soda Bottle Stencil

I came across a wonderful idea today that I just had to share with you all. This is a super easy to do/use stencil. All you need is an empty soda bottle and you have an instant flower stencil.

I used acrylic paint, as it seems to work the best. Simply take the bottom of the empty soda bottle and dip the bottom in the acrylic paint. The stencil makes a perfect flower shape. This works best on canvas, but can be used on almost any suitable surface for painting. Best of all, this is a green way of being frugal. You get to recycle and save money all at the same time. You can also reuse this stencil over and over again. Another great idea if you want to keep it for reuse is to cut the bottom piece off to make it easier to store.

Blog Revamp

OK guys, so I bet you have noticed some new changes around here. I decided the blog needed a makeover. I revamped it all... but of course kept a a slight feel of the old within the blog walls so to speak. I didn't want it to be so drastic nobody would recognize it anymore. I hope you all like it.

Not that I haven't been working hard all along, but I need to tell you all that our little blog here needs to explode out of its shell and burst into the world a star. I will be working very hard here to make everyone happy, while posting my little heart out. This blog means a lot to me, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

Spread the word... I want us to grow and grow and grow. I want to reach as many people as I can and spread the blog everywhere!

Yummy Healthy Egg Breakfast

I was browsing facebook, and I get tons of great ideas by doing this, thanks to all the great people I am subscribed to. I came a across a great tutorial I had to share with all of you!

First cut bell peppers into slices, leave the pieces round. Not to thick, but not to thin. Crack an egg, and pour HALF into the middle. Add a thin slice of tomato onto in he middle on top of the egg, then pour the rest of the egg on top. Sprinkle with some freshly ground pepper. I also add a dash of adobo on top. Cook till egg is done to your liking. Serve with toast or biscuits Very very yummy! I loved it. It is becoming a staple at my breakfast table. The whole family adores it. I hope you will to.

Florida To Pittsbugh

Well my bloggy friends, I apologize for being gone for a few days. My parents just moved in with me so I can help take care of them. It has been a hectic week. They drove from Tampa Florida to Pittsburgh Pa in a uhaul with 2 cats, 2 dogs and a parrot. It took them 4 days. It should have only took them one to one and a half days. They had some minor set backs but are now finally here and all settled in.

So now that everything is back to normal, I will be back to posting more normal. Later today I will be posting another recipe. I will be posting quite a few recipes in the next week or so. I believe the holiday season is the best time of the year to cook/bake all sorts of holiday goodies and treats. I have to share my faves with all of you. If you have any ideas or requests feel free to comment or email me. I get a lot of emails from all of you, and it always brightens my day.

Needlepoint Clutch Bag Project

Hi guys... a lil while ago I posted that I stated a new project. It was a Needlepoint Clutch Bag. I bought a few of the plastic canvas clutch's to work with. I plan to sell them on my Etsy store: Freak Unique Designs. I am over half way done.

This is what I bought. They work wonderful and are easy to work with. As plastic canvas goes, these were very cheap to buy off Amazon. Check them out:

When I am done, It will have a polymer Clay designed Large Button Clasp. I am also thinking of doing some hand beading on the front around the white square. What do you think? I will post the finished project when I am done. It will also be in my Etsy store for sale. I highly recommend buying your own to work with. The needlepoint design can be simple like mine or very complex. The project design can be up to you, but the possibilities are endless...and the clutch will be stunning when done. It is super easy and fun to work with!

It def works really well and I had to share with all of you! An extra step I took was to use a clear coat base as my first step, then after the the color you choose as the tip, follow up with a second clear coat to seal the color and make it glossy. Enjoy!

First Snow Of The Season

I awoke to the first snow of the Season. I love snow. I am from Florida, and moved up to Pittsburgh a few years ago. The changing of the Seasons, and snow still have a magic wonder to me. I decided when I let my dogs out today I would snap a few shots to show you the very first snow of the season. It was very light snow, and its still coming down in tiny trickles...but it is the very first snow of the Season in Pittsburgh!
