And the reason, her age. Why such discrimination? In the Philippines, age discrimination (for applying a job) is prevalent. Just take a quick look at the job ads you have in the papers and you see employers everywhere specifying age qualifications.

WANTED ACCOUNTINGCLERK:

Must be female not over 24 years old

With pleasing personality;

Chinese preferred;

University Graduate;

Must be single

WANTED FACTORY WORKER:

With pleasing personality and not over 23 years of age

Must be single and no children

Must be physically fit (with no disabilities)

College level

Older people are barred from applying for jobs that they may qualified for. You would easily find ads specifying people 30 years and older “need not apply. I really think hiring more mature(older) workers are better because the older you are, the more experience you have in your previous jobs, in previous careers even.

America..... I was amazed how they treat applicants here. If you're qualified, you're qualified whatever your age may be.(or whatever your looks are) They won't care about your age, race, color, status, disabilities or gender. I work with people whose age ranging from 72 to 17 years old.

I remember those times in the Philippines when I was looking for a job, I spent a lot of money just for a photo, because they require you to include pictures in the resume. (because the not so good looking were immediately screened off/discarded, I knew it, I was in HR while they were screening resumes). It's true that sometimes you will not get hire if you're not pleasing to look at or unattractive. The more attractive you are the more chances of getting a job. And oh, they even asked personal questions during the interview if you have a boyfriend. Lol.

It's been a long time since I've put anything on this site,by looking at my last post below--vvv--dated March 29, 2009, close to 2 years,wow,I wonder if anyone of my blogger friends still remember me.(as if I have readers,lol!). My life's been a little nuts over these past couple years! Yes, I completely forgot about blogging, it has been busy and crazy.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN

*MOVING 2X, not fun huh. I was in Pewaukee when I posted my last article. Then we moved back in Iowa, lived there for a year, then Jon got a job at Ft. Mccoy as Training Specialist, so we packed and moved to the Wisconsin's Cranberry country,Tomah which is about 9 miles to Ft. Mccoy.

*Vacation
Ahhh, and boy was it nice.
We went to Orlando, Florida in 2009. First time to see Disney World, we had a great time. Everything about Disney is a happy memory, it's a grand place where young and old can relax and have some good clean fun.
Then 2010 on our 5th Wedding Anniversary, hubby treat me to a Las Vegas trip. I want to see the casino capital of the world, just seeing and no plan to gamble, I originally told my husband that I would just watch him gamble, but then I got hooked with those machines and especially if you start winning a bit. We started off playing penny machines then, dollars then as the days went on we were down and started playing for nickles :) Hubby won more than thousand dollars, and we got the money trip back. Lucky on the first trip, but our second trip to Vegas (Jan, 2011) we lost money :(.

WHAT'S NEW WITH ME
I landed a new job at the base, finished a short course in health care program, and preparing for the certification test or get another program for upgrade. Or planning to move again, who knows, yes you heard it right moving again.

Well, go back to the reason why I made this blog active again, it was 2 weeks ago when my good friend Margaret told me about her Reading Caravan Raising fund projects. She mentioned my blog, and for the first time again in almost 2 years I remember I have a blog (that made some money, too) yes, it made some deposit to my paypal account before, lol. Not a big amount but good enought than wasting time on the internet playing games.

What really surprised me the most in my comeback...is the earnings on my google adsense, yes, my blog has not been active for 2 years, but the ads still there and running, and some random visitors clicking on them. I curiously logged back in couple days ago to check what's goin on in my blog, ( even forgot my password here, lol), then found out I have $88.09 earnings just on my google adsense, without doing anything, and actually forgot about my blog. The greatest earnings here is the payperpost and Izea,, I activated my payperpost and got an offer of $7.00/post or .05cents per word. I know I have to start all over again, but it's not bad. I checked my page rank, and not sure if it's accurate but I got PR3, unbelievable!
P.S. Thanks, Margaret!

A lawyer that will focus on your case 100%, I say this because there are some lawyers who are taking more cases that he/she can actually handle, that may result of losing your case. I have liked motorcycle since I was a kid, but the only thing is I'm scared of riding them. I had some fun watching those guys on their harley's last year at Milwaukee. Their bikes speak for their personalities, customized with attractive stickers, you could easily guess where they came from and what they want to express. Real bikers put their heart on riding. If you're a real biker, motorcycle community is the place for you.

Wherever you are in the world, it's an international community where motorcycle riders can connect with other bikers, share their experiences, have some fun, teach each other, and learn a thing or two. There are many things you can do here like check out stories from other bikers, watch product installations,upload and watch video, share your photos , talk to other bikers, join groups, buy and sell motorcycle parts and accessories.

My friend and her husband were at a lake near their home in St. Paul, Minnesota when she came across a rock that was shaped like a kidney. She has an online store in eBay, and decided to sell the rock. I was wondering who would gonna buy a stupid rock and I bet it will come up with zero bid. Well, I was wrong. Somebody paid $25 for the rock. That got my interest..... I was wondering what I could sell on eBay. I'm starting what I have of zero value that I could persuade someone to buy. One way to get richer is to come up with a product that is pretty much worthless, but convince people that it has some value. Whoever invented bottled water, that's a good example.

I rather spray on some fresh cologne and I'm good to go. The Garden and fruit collections of that famous brands would be enough. The problems with those expensive perfumes in the market, some are overpowering and so flowery that can make you gag. Check out Talk Perfume and see some perfume reviews and ratings. They will help you decide which brands is right for you.

Last Christmas, I received a bottle of Chanel 5 Spray refillable. I had never used it before. I must say, this perfume has a wonderful light fragrance, does not overpowering and doesn't have a flowery scent. You do not have to spray a lot, a little goes a long way. It lasts the whole day and evening. I've gotten a lot of compliments, co-workers stop by and comment on it. It smells sexy too!

The hot guy down the hall told me so ;)

I never expected this, I was asked to see my boss in his office, I thought I screwed something about my work. This bill is the most serious threat to pro life policies ever. Obama has said he would sign this bill into law (he just declared in one of his campaign speeches that the first thing he would do, as president, is sign the Freedom Choice Act.)

The proposed bill would get rid of all restrictions on abortions, that minors would not have to get consents of a parent and taxpayer's money would pay for abortions. Well, it seems that he will promote a culture of death, not a culture of life.

Here's what the Freedom of Choice Act all about:

The Freedom of Choice Act declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to (1) bear a child; (2)terminate pregnancy prior to fetal viability; (3) terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect her life or her health.

Prohibits a federal, state, or local government entity from (1)denying or interfering with a woman's right to exercise choices; or (2) discriminating against exercise of those rights in the regulations or provisions of benefits, facilities, services, or information. It also provides that such prohibition shall apply retroactively.

It authorized an individual aggrieved by a violation of this act to obtain appropriated relief, including relief against a government entity, in a civil action.
---source: Govtrack.us

My husband shot real good, his shooting ability is above average. I knew he was a sharp shooter in the army , but now, I thought he is not that sharp anymore because of the age, lol. I'm wrong, the man still good in handling guns, that's why he love paintball. We played once and it was fun, the act of sneaking up on him and shooting him, while not hurting him except for a small paintball mark makes it more exciting. You can also play outdoors in the woods style or indoors, closed quarters, but I like outdoors better.

If you want to play and in a budget, and you need to buy a good quality low-priced paintball guns try paintball accessories. This procedure is done by injecting the tuberculosis germ under the skin and if there is an induration or swelling, hardness or firmness of the skin, then you are positive. Unlike in the Philippines where they normally uses Chest xray for pre-employment requirements, here they require you to have a PPD test. When the hospital hired me, they required me to have a PPD test, and I was positive. I was scared of course, I've been exposed to a lot of TB patients back home, and I know that being exposed to a person with an active TB, you can have their infection too, you will not aware you've got it because your immune is strong. It is called an inactive TB in your system. The germ is already in your body but not yet causing disease. This is the scenario that I thought I have when I was positive for a PPD test.

My employer scheduled me for a chest x-ray just to make sure if I have an active pulmonary tuberculosis, but the result was negative. The nurse asked me if I had a BCG vaccine , and I said yes I did, but I am not sure when. I showed her my vaccine scars on my shoulder. Then she told me maybe that's the reason why I am PPD positive, due to the vaccine itself rather than from exposure to the germ. I learned that BCG vaccine is not common or not available here. If you had BCG vaccine before then more likely, you will get a positive result. Transcription services able to save your time by simply dictating it to basically an online secretary or a transriptionist. If you have a good listening skills and above average in spelling, then you can make money in the comfort of your home. I have a bunch of friend who are doing transcription at home, I want it too...but I'm poor in listening skills. I even tried to enroll in a trancription school in the Philippines, I was so confident that this is the kind of job that qualifies me 100%, because I know I can take dictations fast and I'm not that poor in spelling. But I failed in listening skills, I can't get some of the words the doctor's dictated. I'm not sure if I have hearing problem or it's just the slang words. Even I rewinded it many times I still can't get what it means, so I gave up, lol. The word "Robitussin" in the dictation was pronounced "Robi-tasin", hehehe.

Good thing lights were not needed anymore because husband bought a fiber optic tree.

This neighborhood spent a lot on decorations, the houses across the street put up a Christmas lights all over their house and garage, awesome work. Some set-up a Bethlehem in their yards, or big Santa Claus (which is lighted inside) in their front door. What really amazes me is how they set the lights with style, there is this house that has reindeer running in his yards, of course it's not actually running, it's only an optical illusion made by the lights. By just looking at it, I guess he spend thousands of dollars with this kind of decoration. Made me curious who the owner is. We just moved to this neighborhood about 3 months ago, the only people I've known so far are the elderly couple who lives next door.

Later on, my husband said that the owner of that house has a reputation of making the best decorations every Christmas. And his name answered all my curiosity, he is Mr. Nick Claus. What a name.

Since we have ground beef in the fridge, 3 pieces of potatoes, and green beans, I've decided to cook meatloaf, with mashed potatoes, gravies and green beans.

Christmas is little over 1 week away and I have yet to plan anything. Not sure if my stepdaughters will be here for Christmas.

Sadly, there goes my day off…

There are also some people who just want to make sure that they are not residing near an ex-convict who still has the capability to commit a wrongdoing.

If you want to obtain records of a certain inmate, all you have to do is check out the site and use its inmate locator. It was a last minute invitation, and I have no idea what's the play is all about. What makes me excited is the idea of watching our good friend Joan acting in the stage and her beautiful daughter Kari singing in the stage too. We arrived a little bit early, I got bored and walk around, it's an old building but has an impressive architecture, not so modern. Then, I saw Joan in 1897's costume walking towards on my direction, I was laughing, we hug and talk a bit about her role, as a salvation army widow, soon I realized that the play is all about the classic question of an 8 year old girl, Virginia O'Hanlon "Is there a Santa Claus?" What a lucky night, I thought.

I met or should I say, became familiar with Virginia in a popular TV Game show hosted by Kris Aquino, Pilipinas, Game ka na ba? Virginia made the contestant won 1 million pesos, a young high school boy. The million dollar question was, what was the first name of the 8 year old girl who wrote a letter over 100 years ago to the editor of the New York Sun.
"Dear Editor, I am eight years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it's so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?"

The smart contestant, not even a second answered "Virginia". And that made him a millionaire.

It is a tactical technology company who manufactures illumination tools that are powerful, compact, rugged and reliable. I personally own a Surefire LED Flashlights - it is a high performance flashlights with features such as digital regulator circuits to maintain consistent levels of light output for as long as possible, and digital current limiters to protect the LED module from current and heat-related damage. Surefire is the first to utilize these breakthrough features in a handheld LED. It is one of the top flashlights used by police officers and security guards. The sturdy design always makes me think it could double as a weapon if you run across a burglar or prowler in your home.

They are quite simply the best flashlights in the world!
