Thanks to Nuffnang, I was given an opportunty to attend All-American Rejects's Press Conference and have a Round Table Session with them. Because of KL's traffic, I parked my car at Bukit Jalil Stadium, which is where AAR concert will be held.

It was 12PM ++ and people were still setting up the stage and entrance.

Hitz.fm crews arrived as early as some of the AAR fans. They are giving out free drinks

I was rushing to Nikko Hotel because STAR LRT doesn't seems so frequent these days

Had some desserts

Not having these, the food was kinda hidden between the hall

Since Kristine can't get in, she lend me her DSLR to help her capture the moments

I was guessing how is it possible for 2 AAR members sitting and the other 2 standing
But actually it was prepared for Mr. Koay [DiGi's Head of Segments] and Loan Cheong [GM of Universal Music Malaysia]

Without anymore waiting, All-American Rejects is out on stage =)

This is my first time attend a Press Conference and you can see everyone is with their DSLR while I just own a compact camera and temporarily using Kristine's DSLR ;p

I find that we Malaysian are more conservative during the Q&A session, only few people asked question. Even AAR requested us to ask more because it was too little! I still remember, "Come on! It can't be only two question!"

Malaysia is still a conservative country ha? =)

Tyson received the BIG greeting card because of his previous knee injury while on tour.

However there is a bad news for us, AAR was separated into two groups
[Nick+ Tyson, Mike + Christ]

I initiated a conversation with him and he just look scared =S

All 5 of us were assigned to meet with Mike and Christ.
I found that Mike is very friendly and mainly do the talking while Chris is a bit quiet.

Christ has the most tattoos over his body while Tyson is 2nd

Through the round table session, we figured out that Nick still bring along a soft toy that was given by his girlfriend/ex-girlfriend. Chris use more time than usual to tie his shoes, but a very good drummer.

I'm Off With Oil Palm!

Hi all, as you can see I am having less frequent blog updates because my job plus works is getting more and variant. Tomorrow I will need to go to an oil palm estate to do some soil and microbes sampling.

1. "Lollipop"
Candies can makes me happy but this "lollipop" is special to me. It will makes me really really happy and I will tell you the reason last =D

What is my first treat?

2. Play Station Portable with Patapon
You can't say I am a kid but you can say I am still a old kid. The reason I want PSP is just because of Patapon =)

I like to play games that involve music especially when it involve beats. I like it more when it is cute and fun to play! So Patapon is my love! I even put it in my wish list since last year December =)

However, this dream has somehow been delayed as I was attracted with something bigger! A trip to Korea.

3. A travel trip to Seoul

After I watched the first episode of Love In Seoul I kinda fell in love with Korea. Travel to there would be a place for me to gain new exposure on different culture and learn new stuff =) This is a story about Nicholas Teo, a photojournalist doing a travelogue about Seoul's point of interest and met a girl named Kim (Belinda Chee).

Maybe I like it because Belinda Chee is in the show XD

Okay la that is just one of the small reason, actually I do attracted by a special place in Seoul. A place where you can see the colourful fountain playing with water shooting out from side of the bridge. Here is one of the photo I manage to find.

I haven't decide which model to buy but I guess it will surely come out from 1 of them [Lumix/Nikon/Sony/Canon]. Why do I need a huge ass DSLR? ~~Cos I can grab a girl by pretending as a pro-tographer~~

In one coincident I manage to play with Kristine's DSLR during AAR Press conference. Tyson is moving fast when leaving the hall. If I was without her DSLR I won't able to capture a photo of him with this sudden ";p" looks! Thanks Kristine!

This is the moment I captivated with the fast and clear photos coming out from a DSLR . I will need a DSLR whenever I go out for events at night. My current compact camera cannot perform well during at low light condition.

After I got the photos from DSLR, I gotta get a display device that can view them vividly and it will be better with if I can enjoy Hi-definition experience when watching the video recorded through DSLR!

Since I always go out for night outing/events, my face looks dull because over exhausted. Therefore, I would like to pamper myself with "face treatments" a.k.a "facial" complementary with a tension release massage. I do care about outer beauty =)

Which netizen don't spend his/her night surfing the net/blogging? I admit I will sacrifice my sleeping time especially for blogging. That's why I have "panda eye" @ dark eye circle plus eyebag. But that won't stop me from blogging =)

After Lab Series Catwalk they are back into their coats. Some womans said they look at a guy as in package. You have the good looking face and body but more important is the inside. I am talking about the brain.

So five finalists has successfully go into the final round. They are Kee, Adrian, Calvin, Hwei Hou and Joel.

Kee was asked if suddenly his clothes all ripped off on the stage during a catwalk what would he do. As a model, he said. He need to be professional by continue and finish the walk naked.

I wonder why the organizer asked this question. Are they planing to organize a "Suddenly naked catwalk"? Then what are they promoting? The body art?

I would say I can't do that =.="

Calvin was asked to do three action/poses that represent Malaysia. This is one of his resemble - The Teh Tarik

Adrian received a good question about how he will react when he saw the female model in front suddenly fall down during catwalk. When Royce as the "model" Adrian just ask "her" to stand up again and continue the walk. When Serina C is the model Adrian just hold her at that particular posture and just maintain it. Too bad I didn't manage to snap that photo.

Hwei Hou was asked the same question as Calvin.

Okay, Joel has a very though question for every guy.
"Between Amber Chia, Xandra Ooi, and Gillian, which lady would you choose to travel with and you must tell why you eliminate the other two"

I saw Joel start sweating and he choose Xandra in the end. Not with Gillian because of the "kakak and adik" a.k.a. age issue, not with Amber because of paparazzi issue, but choose Xandra because she is going to be married soon! It is funny to see Amber become hyped up at how Joel answer the question XD

So the "Testing intelligence" session has end and the judges is tallying their score to choose the winners. ManHand performed and I guess not much people know about them as the crowd are plain silent. That's why they are a bit shy on the stage too. I agree they are going to become popular and make Malaysia proud too =DYes, they are Malaysia artist!

Men's Uno thanking Amber Chia for coming as one of the judges

I was kinda surprised to see Calvin Hee won the 2nd runner up while Joel won the 1st runner up. I guess Calvin was surprised too.

Who is the big winner? Adrian Chee! He won the opportunity to develop his carrier in participate the modeling contest in Shanghai which provided by andrewsmodels. I guess the 40% SMS Voting that made the results different.

Congratz again to all winners and hope the other finalist continue to pursue their dream. In my opinion mostly all the finalist has the potential to become a model and they just need to do better in coming times.

Extra story: Since I was in the rush I forgot where I parked my car . This eventually gave me a chance to took a ride on the "Battery Operated Golf Car" to find my car. This is the bad and good things that happened to me that night.

Phobia 2 - "In The End" [2009]

Just back from Phobia 2 Screening by Nuffnang. Thanks YungChien for inviting me to the screening!

There are total 5 stories. "Novice" and "Salvage" is a horror about karma; "Ward" is like reborn; "Backpackers" is the Thai+Japan version of resident evil. Where as "In The End" is my favourite =D

I like "In The End" the most cause it has really really different end and with huge amount of humor elements XD
Recommend you guys to watch this movie and "tahan" the first four horror stories. After that, I am sure you will definitely enjoy the last story - "In The End"

Rating: 8.5/10 especially for the last story =)

大學階梯教室裡，一場演講會即將開始。

主講人是蜚聲海內外的知名教授，海報兩天前就貼出去了，反應異常熱烈，同學們紛紛趕到現場，要一睹教授的風采。

離開講還有十分鐘，學生們紛紛進入到會場中，在他們跨進會場的一瞬，不約而同地發現腳下有一塊香蕉皮，在抬腿避開時，都不忘埋怨兩句：是誰這麼缺德？一點公共意識都沒有！

組織者是怎麼搞的？現在的人，什麼素質？

大家嘰哩咕嚕抱怨著跨過那塊香蕉皮，坐到自己的位置上，靜等著教授的光臨。

幾分鐘後，教授準時到達。

他也發現地上的香蕉皮，扶扶眼鏡上前仔細端詳。

教室裡頓時靜了下來，大家都伸長脖子，看教授的一舉一動。

教授看清楚腳下是一塊香蕉皮，勃然大怒，指著它大聲說道：「你怎麼可以呆在這個地方呢？你應該是在垃圾桶裡睡覺！怎麼這麼沒有公德心、沒有環保意識，要是有人踩到你摔傷怎麼辦？你太不象話了！」

憤怒讓他的眼鏡在鼻樑上跳動著，讓人一下子想起被小事激怒的唐老鴨，聽眾席上頓時傳來一陣陣笑聲。

教授沒理會，繼續憤怒，對著香蕉皮繼續發火。

聽眾席上，有學生不耐煩了，大聲說：算了吧！教授，別費力氣了，你不可能把香蕉皮罵進垃圾桶的！

教授聽了，突然，轉過頭來，滿臉紅光地笑了，並伸手把香蕉皮撿起來，放進講臺旁的垃圾桶裡，用紙巾擦擦手說：「剛才那位同學說什麼？能再說說嗎？」

教室頓時靜了下來，沒人說話。

教授說：「我聽見了，你不能把香蕉皮罵進垃圾桶的！這就是我今天晚上演講的題目！」

這時，牆上的大螢幕上開始播放同學們剛才入場時的鏡頭，同學們千姿百態地跨越香蕉皮和版本各異的埋怨聲清晰地傳了出來。

大家最初哄笑著，慢慢變得雅雀無聲。

教授說：「這是我特意安排的一個環節，我想給大家講的道理，其實你們已明白並喊了出來。」

但對你們來說，明白道理是一回事，而用道理指導自己的行為，卻又是另外一回事！

我相信，在坐的幾百名同學，沒有一個人不懂得香蕉皮是罵不進垃圾桶的，但大家缺乏動一動手，以舉手之勞去改變現狀的行為。

這就如同許多人感覺社會冷漠，而又吝於付出一個笑臉；埋怨環境污染，卻又不願意撿一片垃圾；咒罵腐敗和貪污，遇事卻本能地想去托關係走後門；感歎道德水準下降，卻又不願意身體力行地去做任何一件善事……幾乎所有的人都在埋怨和咒罵。

幾乎所有人都不願意身體力行去做事。

責任永遠在別人身上，而自己永遠都是受害者！

這些做法與心態，無限放大了消極面，而使人看見的都是絕望。

事實上，並非如我們所想的那樣，社會的每一分進步，都是需要人們用行動去構建，如果我不亂扔垃圾，這個世界就少了一個污染源；如果我再將身邊的垃圾清理掉，世界就乾淨了一分；如果我的行為感化並帶動了一個人，那麼世界上又多了一份乾淨的原因。

地球上只有五十多億人，這不是一個望不到邊的數字，因而，我們應該為自己的五十億分之一，抱有信心。

記住，垃圾不會被罵進垃圾桶，你得行動！從現在開始！

教授的演講結束了，會場裡響起聲音宏大但情緒極其複雜的掌聲。

Men's Uno Model Search 2009 [M'sia] - Part 1

After DCIM Velocity Angel this is the second modeling contest event which I had attended. In 16th October, I went to Pavilion for Men's Uno Model Search 2009 Contest.

The venue is still empty because I arrived earlier to avoid the traffic jam.
But it seems like I am way too early because it only start after one hour of waiting.
This is called "Malaysia's punctuality"

The waiter start to serve red wine and some colourful drinks when people coming in

Xandra Ooi and Gilian were the judges for this finale.

[Save Our Seahorse] - Dugong Where Are You?

The day after our first Seahorse trip, we had our lunch and then continue on second part of the day. Survey for the place/spots where Dugong @ "Ikan Duyung" appear. First Dr. Louisa showed us the bones of a Dugong that had went to heaven because it was his head was hit by hard equipment, probably boat's propeller.

Later then we drive around the Kampung, interviewed a few fisherman and "penduduk kampung". Most of them said they didn't see any Dugong but sometimes have a swarm of "grey-colour-dolphin" @ "ikan lumba lumba" appear on the sea.

Luckily we found a big family where the grandpa of this family seen Dugong before and told us the story about the "Mermaid Fruits" and the fairy tale of how and why a girl turn into mermaid.

Dr. Louisa used a lot of efforts to clean the bones. The dead dugong initially was covered with awful smelling flesh. I won't able to stand with the smell.

Wonder why the bones look so white? It s because it was treated with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)
You will familiar with it if you have whiten your teeth.

First we saw a few fishermans sitting under the tree enjoying coconut flesh.

They are showing us the spot where they might have seen Dugong and Dophins

I guess this is the moment before we say goodbye. The fisherman start to tell their own story and we "cabut" to look for more people who know about Dugong.
They are friendly after all =)

Next stop, and old cafeteria

The fisherman's life is getting harder because there are certain development that somehow decreased their income. Therefore their children went to town to work instead of catching fish with net.

But still, there is a big family in this small house =)

This is the end of Dugong's Survey. We can't barely find any person who seen a Dugong before. If yes it is way back long long time ago.

Seems like it is really hard to see real life Dugong in the sea again...

I have been walk into the Mangrove area, and then stand on the sea that is just beside Singapore. So after a tiring night we are all wake up again for the biggest mission of our trip~!!

"Save Our Seahorse [SOS]"

Early in the morning I played with the kitten.
Cats really like to play with couch grass =)

Morning with some dose of Vitamin C~!

Get in the boat and prepare for new hairstyle done by the nature.

The sea is still quiet early in the morning, water is still.

The Singapore bridge, where I was suppose to pass through this weekend...

It is just a while for us to reach the Seagrass bed. Before we dock our boat Choo already saw something in the sea!!

What did Choo spotted?

Yes, it is the first Seahorse that was found. Lucky him ar?
Based on my experience, it is really hard to find them.
They are really good mimic

That day there are 2 video recording guy with us.
Recording for the upcoming programme for SOS.
His facial expression told me he is surprised & curious.

We are now stepping on the Seagrass bed and start looking for the sea horse.

According to Choo, seahorse like to use their tail tie near the root the seagrass. That's how they protect themselves from being flush by the stream.

50 years ago, there won't be smoke emitting out at the background.

Now the industry somehow causing bad effects to the Seagrass and the seahorse if they didn't treating well the effluent. Saw the oily water on the picture below? Yes it is one of the possible cause for decreasing amount of seahorse.

Even the fruit that can turn you to a mermaid might extinct.

We have spent hours on the sea looking for sea horse, but can't barely see any... And the sun is climbing up higher and higher. You won't able to notice them especially when the water turn murky and there are wave coming in. So in order to find them, we need to move slowly and use our little smart eye to spot them.

Tips: Look for seahorse near the end of the seagrass. They always tied at the bass of seagrass

Luckily I was wearing boots that can prevent their spiky needle.

After hours, we all going back to the boat.

What do we do after found the seahorse?

This is a Golden seahorse =)

Choo will need to tag them with the non-hazardous dye.
This time it is blue in colour.
We tag them so that we can identified if we found them again in next visit.
No worries, the dye wont cause any bad effects except they look unique.

After tag we need to put it back to the sea =)

I won't forget to camwhore with the seahorse that I found~!! ^@^

Yes, we are happy with the "Searching for sea horse trip"~!

Off we back to the SOS center and cleaning ourself before having lunch. Found out that the dye is fluorescent with the exposure of UV light =)

I know it is good to have faith but please don't fully believing in what the fortune teller said.

You can't fight the faith if you didn't even try to fight.
So, put some effort on what you are fighting for.

Just a random post as I am waiting for my broadband to be pimped by DiGi or P1W1max's Wiggly. Used hours instead of minutes to prepare next SOS [ Save Our Seahorse] blogpost as I am having an unstable Maxis Broadband connection and cannot install StreamyX @ my rental house.

It seems like "Cockroach's season" now as I killed 2 cockroaches in one day. They always come out after 12PM... I just cleaned and vacuumed my room yesterday le! Maybe I ruin their hiding place so they come out and visit me...

Reminder to myself: Don't get too busy by just working, working and working. Health is our most valuable investment. So, rest at the right time and play at the right time. Work hard, play hard~!

If you already know me, you will know that I am a social network addict that hanging around on the net especially on Facebook and Twitter. That's how I connect with my friends and update each other what is happening around us.

I share interesting articles and sometimes funny videos. While my friends will give their opinion and it is indeed very good to stay connected anytime. For example, my friends update me on Twitter when H1N1 strike in and when there was a small "earth quake" happening in Malaysia. That's very useful not only for me but others too when I re-tweet(RT) that.

However, I am facing a problem... I can only stay connected with my friends and families when I was using a Desktop PC/Laptop with internet. I found it difficult to stay connected when I am traveling outstation as I can't bring along my bulky PC whenever I go. Sometimes laptop will run out of batteries or being stolen when put inside car. Further more, if I use GPRS to surf the net it will cost me a bomb!

[Save Our Seahorse] - At Singapore Bridge

How do I get into this place? See the Mangrove's Tale here =D

Those poking out thing are are air roots of mangrove's trees

Chris was proved to have the genes of monkey ;p

A big clap to ourself because we have passed through the mangrove area and reach the sea side~!Singapore bridge is just behind us!

This is R.E.A.L and we are not dreaming. How many people would actually got the chance to stand on the mud and take picture with Singapore's Bridge? =p

Do you know that mud can be therapeutic for us? All the mineral salts in the clay/mud can actually make your skin smoother =)
*PS: According to YengYeng, the mosquito bites is not itchy anymore after apply the mud*

When YengYeng digging the mud we saw something crawling. It is partially permeable and moving like a worm.

Later then we figure out that It is a Wormlike Sea Cucumber
Soft to touch.

Easy to break.
I believe it still survive because that's how sea cucumber survive by *potong* itself.

I am not regret to bring along my camera and we really should appreciate this!

The one day mangrove trip is very fun especially when you have friends to adventure together. Cooperation between each other made us passed the "gate" that blocking us [cross river, jeruju bush, mosquito swarm and more]. You will feel that you achieve something priceless when you cross over the mangrove and reach the seaside. A place where not much people will able or willing to go =)

After all, if you don't do it now, when will you have chance to do it? That night I really can't wait to be tomorrow to see the living seahorse by myself~!

This show is about Korea's point of interest and and little love story that Nicholas met. After I watched two episode, I feel that the videos are very colourful and makes me wanna have a vacation to Korea =)

[Save Our Seahorse] - Mangrove's Tale

The trip to Save Our Seahorse [SOS] has become possible after we raised funds by doing "kalang kuni" @ Collecting Old Newspaper "The sun is hot in the sky, just like a giant spotlight" explained what we deal with during collecting old newspaper from house to house.

So on a rainy morning, me, LiErn, YengYeng and Chris travel together on a car heading to Johor.

On the way,

We made illegal U-Turn infront of Soldier Camp

On the way we stop by and have our breakfast.

The Cat Twins enjoying the cool day sleeping

Now only I noticed she is wearing a T-Shirt with advertisement on it

We passed by the harbour =)

Which somehow affected the ecosystem of seahorse.

Arrived at the SOS Center and saw uncle poking the coconut tree

This is where we stay along the 4 days 3 nights trip.

When we put our bag in the room we saw these huge collection of bones.

Bones solely from one Dugong

It looks like starwars's spaceship

This Dugong died because it was hit by something hard on the skull

Ends up with a broken skull

CheeKuang, who is the leader for SOS Society

Briefed us about the ecosystem in mangrove

Why? Because we are traveling to mangrove the same day we arrive~!

We have tea time and I call it

"Roti Batang"

Shell got sponsor SOS but it is not enough to save the seahorse's habitat

So after the Mangrove's briefing, feed our stomach, contact with "Abang Motor" that will lead us. Off we go to mangrove!

I call him, "Uncle Motor"

Yes, we need to wear this "sexy" mangrove shoes. Luckily they have my size as my foot are the biggest.

It was afternoon and luckily the sun not so hot.
I dun believe at first as all I saw is bush

I heard the coffee beans that has processed by animal taste scent better?

Half way to the mangrove area, we met a small challenge.

The wood or so called "bridge" has broke and it is hard to jump over

Luckily Uncle Motor manage to figure this way of crossing bridge.

Yet before we manage to enter the mangrove area. We have another challenge!!

There is no bridge for this and yes we need to crossover this!!

"Uncle Motor" only lead us till this river and now we need to enter the mangrove area by ourself!

This is how we cross the river. Luckily no leeches inside =)

We are now entering the mangrove area!!
Those plant roots are the prove.

There are a lot of mudskippers and I spotted one hiding with the mud

Start seeing more living creature in here

I call them "poking plant"

Must take more picture as you have not much chances taking picture in mangrove

What I saw in mangrove are all the plants, sea living creature like snails and mudskippers. Before we manage to reach the seaside, we face another challenge. The bush with spiky plant that have thorns on leaves is blocking our way. So what we did was looking for available woods and place it over the plant to make a path.

Have I told you the plant's name?
It's called "Jeruju"
I can imagine when an animal rushing through this bush will have many Harry Potter's scars

There was no leeches all the way but bloddy mosquitos everywhere!

Choo was collecting plant specimen as I was snapping instead of collecting XD

I feel glad to see the otherside after crossed the river and the Jeruju Bush

Yes we are getting nearer!!

I'm Now The "Bad Boy"!

A quick update, since I feel my hair is hard to style already. I go to saloon today. I am like wearing a "helmet" on my head. A photo before "potong"

Every time I visit this saloon will have different hair stylist. So, as usual I let him do what he want with my hair.

He made it short and revealed my baby BIG head. I thought it is going to finish but later he recommended me to dye my hair as he said "You should try to do new stuff on your hair so it won't look so dull +++ bla bla bla"

The last 3 words I heard is "try new stuff"

So my adventurous spirit was ignited and I was persuaded to dye my hair.
*I was asked to dye my hair for several time at this saloon already. This time this guy success*

My first time being cook by a UFO-Heating-Machine
It will keep surrounding on your head and emitting some thermal heat.

*30 minutes passed......*

I was stunt after he wash off the dye. The colour looks really bright at first glance!
But hey! Look at the bright site, what done is done.
With the golden-brown [GB] hair now, do I looks like "The Bad Boy" as my T-Shirt say??
This is my first time to colour my hair!
Hope my hair won't become too dry after this.

That's the end of today post, gotta rest earlier as I guess when you are reading this post I might already at an oil-palm estate since 5AM!

Here Is My Girl Friend~!

Today went to find my girl friend - PeiYing after two months not seeing her =) Nice to meet again as we have been long time to talking to each other since we are not working together.
*Please ignore my messy look as my hair looks like that when it get long (and without hairstyling product)*

Nothing special happen recently plus I am kinda quiet in the blog sphere already. Why? Because I haven't get my broadband pimped and current work made me busier and busier.

I am going to an oil palm estate for work this Friday and can't imagine how it could be. Wake up early in the morning (4am), get into the field dealing with the bloody hell mosquitos. Anyhow, it would be a new experience for me la
*self consoling*

There is one good and bad news to share with you guys
Thanks to Nuffnang & DiGi I will able to have a "Round Table" session with All-Americans Reject [AAR] but bad news is it is postponed to Saturday, 31 October 2009 at Car Park A of Bukit Jalil National Outdoor Stadium at 6pm. Hope lead singer recover soon =)
