Merchant financing

I always love looking back at the start up of my business. There was so many which seemed to be impossible obstacles to overcome. I almost gave up. Sitting down with my dad one of the things that he said to me was focus on one thing at a time. I can remember using this instantly to relieve a lot of stress to reach the destination or goal that I wanted.

I needed a medium size amount of capital in less than sixty days and between the bank and the small business administration it was going to take too long and this would make or break the continuation of my business. With my dad's help I turned to merchant financing. I was back on schedule and within ninety days I had tripled the money back and there was no penalties for paying it off early.

My little guy's finger

Its been five days sense my son was hurt in school. His finger was slammed in a bathroom door tearing in all the way to the bone. It took almost an hour and a half to fix it if that's what you call it. Tomorrow they will take off the cast and see how its doing. There's not much hope that there's feeling in it. His finger is about two inches long it cut it a quarter in wide and an inch and three quarter long. We can only hope for a miracle.

We took on a few jobs cleaning out houses for a real estate company. I just couldn't believe some of the messes people could leave behind without a care. Some of these places had so much junk in them it took three people two days to clean them out. In one of the houses up in the attic there was an old wooden hand made power boat about three foot long. The wood had been deteriorated for years but the basics were there. I removed all the brass screws including one big thumb screw that they had on the bow of the boat to attach a lead line to pull it. I laid the old wood out on thick paper to trace it. Later on today I'm going to a lumber company to search for the ideal wood to rebuild it.

Years ago when my daughter was little we stopped in at the local grocery store to stock up for the week. Someone was giving away kittens outdoors. My daughter pleaded with me to get one. We did. We took it home it went into hiding only to come out at night to feed and use the litter box. After eight years the cat finally comes out at night and meows loudly. I snapped my fingers like calling a dog. She jumps up to my lap, spends on an average 45 seconds , leaves for about ten minutes, comes back again for 45 seconds. If I don't click my fingers she sits there and meows all night.

My daughter started out at four years old playing miniature drum set eventually seeing a guy in the mall playing an awesome keyboard. Within a week she twisted Daddy's arm to buy her one. After about a year she had conquered every aspect of the keyboard and moving right along she wanted to learn to play guitar. She was frustrated at first but after taking a few online courses she has just about mastered this in under one year.

I can't believe at how cheap people are these days. I put a 2004 Polaris predator on eBay for next to nothing. I received one bid on it which didn't even come close to my minimal price which was approximately 400 dollars cheaper than what the ATV should sell for. I should have known that it was in the middle of winter and most people are looking for snowmobiles. So I will wait another thirty to forty five days before putting it on again.

Starting a business can put you through all kinds of excitement ups and down and maybe even the anxieties of the goals you set earlier before you even started day one of the business planning. There are so many different avenues to take starting with the advertising. Being that I've built businesses before I've learned to reverse some of the strategy saving weeks of waiting when it comes to a flood of sales coming in because we all know small businesses survive on their cash flow.

I started all my online marketing approximately five days before I was completed with my base site. This would give the dot com time to start crawling as they say in the search engines. Lining up to produce targeted traffic to my site with pay per click was my next step. I maybe a little rusty at this but it looks like things are way out of schedule specially with my sponsored listings.

What an awesome machine! It must be the positive negative effect of the yellow black that draws you to it. I had a chance to ride one of this last year around the sand track locally here in Hastings New York. For a 450 cc it seems to have the same amount or torque as its bigger brother the ds 650 Bombardier. I think if I ever get rid of mine 2008 Polaris outlaw I might buy one of these.

Mosaic Tile

As a contractor shopping around for prices for upcoming jobs can take up most of your time. Its hard to figure in the cost because the people are always looking for a better deal these days. I don't mind so much when it comes to people that can't really get out of their houses such as elderly. I have over twenty five different mosaic tile on hand. These are the most common and usually in stock at my supplier.

After finally making a decision on what tile the lady wanted I called my supplier and that particular tile had been discontinued. What crazy luck I had. I stopped down to the supplier and looked through everything he had. He had just had a return of seven boxes from an order that didn't go through. I decided to pick them up in hopes that she would like these glass mosaic tile. As I arrived at the house I saw that the lady's daughter was there she was up from Florida.

As I explained what happened about the discontinued tiles I showed her the new one. She loved them but the daughter convinced her not to go with the glass tiles of these type. They ended up settling for a blue black tile that I was happy to install but as far as I was concerned the room was now too dark. By saying this the daughter recommended to the mom that they change the lighting in the room to offset the darker tile. So at least this time the daughter is taking the mom to pick out new lighting. I said when you have them just give me a call.

Waiting for snow is a favorite pass time of mine and then looking at the forecast that shows lots of snow but then again three days later there will be three warm days. One of the most favorite things to do is sliding downhill with the kids. It's so much fun. After a while I was able to get our 2001 ski-doo MXZX running. Our little boy asked if we could tow his 12 volt Polaris four wheeler behind the ski-doo. It worked perfect towing it because the gears on the four wheeler would not allow the four wheeler to slide into the back of the ski-doo.

Later on that day the ski-doo started acting up. It sounded like the fuel filter in the gas tank was clogged and sure enough after I looked at it, it was. Luckily we live only five minutes away from C/T grass, dirt and snow service and parts store and with luck they're open 7 days a week. Altogether our ski-doo was only broke down for 45 minutes. This store is amazing! Very helpful people and if there's a way to fix things at a more reasonable cost they would offer it to you as an option. How great is that. I am so excited about my husbands new job! It is a huge promotion and is really going to change things for us. With the increased salary, we have decided that I am going to be able to quit my job and stay home with the kids. This is something I have always wanted to do! My mom was a stay-at-home mom and I always pictured myself doing the same. I remember how good it felt to have a mom that could come on field trips with my class and was always home when I got off the school bus. The only bad part about his new position is that he will have to travel a lot. This is a small sacrifice for our family. Especially since he loves this new position and will be so much happier with his job. When I realized I would be home alone with the kids more nights than he will be home with us, I decided we needed Texas home security . This will help me to be at ease when my husband is out of town. It will give me peace of mind to feel safe in my home at night.

Energy saving bulbs

A few years back I switched out all the light bulbs in the house for at the time the severe energy saving bulbs. Each of my old bulbs were sixty watts of power draw to create sixty watts with the energy bulb. They only drew fifteen watts. That was so great then. Now they have led high energy saving bulbs that only take two watts to create the old style sixty watt bulb. Once the price go down a little bit more I'll be switching all these.

Tamiya models

Some years its hard to figure out what our little guy may want for his birthday. At least at this age in life he still having a lot of fun putting together tamiya models with me. The fun doesn't just stop at building the models, we had to build special display cases so they can last a lifetime. The top of the display case has like a pyramid stack of his favorite three cars. The one that's been on the top for a year now is an AC cobra painted the original blue and white colors.

DPL Nuve

Finally something that might work at home for my shoulder pain. I've been to a lot of different doctors with so many different diagnoses. I'm sick of it. It's called the dpl nuve. It had fifty six infrared lights and four red Led lights that supposed to penetrate deep into the skin to activate endorphines and block pain transmitting chemicals to provide drug free relief. It also is supposed to increase blood circulations to help repair tissue. We shall see how long or if it works.

It's a really big dream for some people and the odds of you making it in business after your first year is very slim. Keeping busy with the business and always looking for new ways to find your niche' in the market is an ongoing affair. I can remember way back when I created my first business how tough it was. Luckily I had someone to learn from and he had almost all the answers. That was my Dad.

After years in business I wanted to take a different path so I sold the one business to start another. But even with all the profits of the one I still had to look for business grants to help me make it trhough the beginning before I established all the revenue of all the products. So many years have gone by, so many rules and regulations had changed in marketing not to mention taxes.

I had many questions that needed to be answered. Something like this I used to discuss with my dad but he is no longer with us. I ran into a site that helped me immensely and still with some ongoing things I always looked to them to helped me out at http://www.businessgrants.org/ some of the people I've run into are so knowledgeable and intriguing conversations may last for hours.

Saving energy

So far this year I've saved quite a bit of money with our mild winter we are using a lot less on our energy to heat our house. One smart move was disconnecting the furnish. Going with the small space heating and also installing a wood stove. The only thing with the wood stove is to make sure we clean it on our regular basis and I'm not just talking about the wood stove, you have to make sure that the chimney is clear of any highly flammable creosote build up.

12 string guitar

Going up in the 70's I always had this dream that I'd be in a band someday. Well the dream never came true but I love remembering my dad's prize possession. It was a Gibson 12 string guitar. He was in a band in his younger days. We could never touch the guitar. One week mom and dad went on vacation leaving my older sister to look after me. She was busy with her friends and I was busy getting the guitar and the amplifier out of the closet to take up to my room. The fun stopped only a few minutes after I turned it on and my sister heard it. I heard her coming up the stairs fast, I tried to block the door but it was too late. I can remember her screaming at me for having dad's guitar but it sure felt good even if it was only for a couple of minutes of playing.

The millwrights and the local carpenters are atleast down 30 % down in the last 5 years for apprentices. 20 years ago I told my step son in the year 2025 it will be the carpenter,plumber,that will make 300 dollars an hour. A lot of kids up and coming take the easy way out. Can you blame them? If you make it to your 55 in a trade as a carpenter your body is just about shot,,,,all of the new type jobs are easier. I guess I dont know! But they are taken up quick. There are still over 23,000 carpenter,millwrights out of work just in N.Y. Anyhow I will be lucky if my kids and grand kids remember me as a guy that did everything and there was no retreat no surrender to get the job done. LOCAL 277

2001 ski-doo MXZX

Finally the snow arrived in Central New York so we could ride the snowmobile. Its a 2001 ski-doo MXZX. I went out to start it its always been a good starter I pulled and pulled and pulled it just wouldn't start. On this ski-doo instead of having a regular choke pull it has a primer pump to push gas into the carburetors for quick start. As I was trying to primer it I noticed the gas leak around the primer head which stops the gas because it's drawing air at this point. So I had to hand primer the engine at this point but tomorrow I will be going to buy a new primer because drawing air into the engine at the primer point can hurt the engine in a bad way.

My daughter is finally growing up she turned into a teenager overnight. Christmas this year was really tough trying to figure out if I should buy toys for my little girl or to buy her teenage type gifts. I didn't really want to buy her an ipod but all her friends have one now she looks just like her friends with her fingers always doing something on it. Looking for something different I found shamballa bracelets. It was the only thing that drew more attention than the ipod as she talked to her friends online.

No snow in New York

I can't believe it I've been in Central New York basically for all my life, I've seen some winters with very little snow but I've never seen a winter up to this point that we have had no snow. You can't ride the snow mobile, you can't go skiing and the worst part is you can't go sliding with the kids down our back hill. So far it is the winter without snow and milder temperatures. The elders of our family are saying that we're only going to get some snow at the very end of our winter period. So strange.

It seems lately that every six months my health insurance premiums go up, they're out of control. The last time that I searched it took me about two months to decide what policy I would like to go with. I ran into a lot of great sites while looking but it was the fine print of the coverage that I was looking for.

I was really looking for an all in one policy but that's pretty tough to do. Another concern was that I had smoke in previous years even though I don't have any health related problems from it at this time or ever I hope it makes a big difference. After looking at all the pros's and con's I finally found an almost complete program that I was happy with.

Shoe break-in

Every time I buy a set of new steel toed work boots you have to break them in. By the time they get broke in its time to buy a new pair. In the meantime you can get blisters and sore toes. This time after buying a new pair I decided to buy a two in one stretcher for shoes. By inserting this into my boots I can expand the width of the steel toe just a little bit to allow my foot to fit comfortably in from the beginning.

It's been so many years they seem to come and go, my headaches. Ten years ago I went for different treatments to find out I was very sensitive to gas. That was a natural occurrence in the area that we were in so we moved. Now the headaches for no apparent reason are coming back. I've had specialist recommend Migraine Botox as a possible solution to my problem. I will study it more before I make my decision.

Helicopter crash

Santa brought my son and myself one small and one large helicopter. So far its a learning curve with the smaller one. They're tough to operate specially when there's so many things to crash into including a Christmas tree. We now have one broken bulb and a bald spot in the tree where the helicopter crashed and took off all the green needles. How funny!
