BEAUTY SAVIORS

Just a few things I can't live without as of late. I've been taking shortcuts in my beauty routine, just because I'm too lazy to put on eyeliner or brush my hair (shocking, I know). But these babies have been saving both time and effort. Instant gritty waves and lip color that literally stays on for hours (not joking). I'm starting to feel that a little mascara and some color on the lips goes a really long way.

Attending a very fashionable party just got checked off my list as of last night. LOOKBOOK was having The Series Premier Party and I have to say, LA events never appear to what they seem to be. It was a rather interesting mixer, but half the time I was wishing I had the guts to approach these beautiful people. Also, probably the only time where I felt a tiny bit underdressed, but I guess my pants saved me a little.

Aria and I ditched to have our own little rendezvous. Urth Caffe saves the night with a cup of Spanish Latte and the ever-so-heavenly Pompeii Cream Puff.

WILD THINGS

Coachella is only a few weeks away and those of you who are going, I definitely envy you. Being a part of Ettika's shoot for their new collection involved a lot of awkward posing, the inability to stop laughing at ourselves, and who could forget, the festival-inspired pieces.

I have yet to check off going to a festival on my bucket-list. But without a doubt, I would be unleashing my inner flower child if I did.

Good riddance to another quarter. It's officially spring break and my alarm is permanently set to 'off' for a good three weeks. No more early mornings, long bus rides, endless reports, and an exponential decrease on my caffeine dosage.

I had some early celebration the past weekend with an impromptu trip to the mall - hence, these badass pants. My obsession with printed pants took over and I came home with three. I have a few more bad babies to share for the next following weeks.

Currently indulging on a few macaroons - only two left. Oh, the battle between finishing the box or saving it for later. What a sweet beginning to a long awaited vacation.

It's the last full week of classes and that only means one thing - business casual (on fashion school terms, that is). It caught to my attention that I don't have anything beautifully tailored in my closet, like a wide-legged pantsuit (it's definitely much needed this week). Luckily my school thinks that throwing a blazer over an outfit is considered 'professional'. However, I am glad that the majority doesn't condone the idea of wearing leather shorts while presenting a final. I guess I have to thank California weather for that.

Ever seen a schoolbus turned mobile store? Neither have I. Warby Parker graciously invited me to check out their Class Trip. I think I found my answer to classic frames that instantly gives ten points towards a facade of intelligence. Since I clearly don't have the guts to wear proper glasses out in public, I opted for some sunnies instead.

A day spent with Ms. Dimalanta means lunch at Urth, some green tea boba, and some silly picture taking. The weather remains ridiculously heaven-sent, which means my chance to sport some bare legs. My lovely roommate lend me one of her many staple black bags, which reminds me how much I need to get myself one, and pronto.

Forever 21 Bikini and Coverup

This week's weather has been nothing less than perfect. Figured I should end my four-day school schedule by laying out under the sun, journal in hand, and a cutie across the pool.

The right bikini can be hard to come by at times, but I can never go wrong with a bandeau style bikini. I find it hard to believe that I snagged this one at Forever. Seriously can't get over how well it fits. Don't you think the paint splashes (pun intended) are just purrf?

Last weekend was definitely action packed. I was lucky enough to spend the day at the ever so lovely, Bronson Caves (nature is so goddamn beautiful). Feather headbands, cutoff shorts, arm candy, and ahem...definitely some serious eye candy, too. After being stacked with Ettika's jewelry, I'm convinced to going back to statement pieces. I probably won't quit my day job as my definition of being 'model' material consisted of laughing hysterically and awkwardly placed arms.

It's that awkward, yet seemingly beautiful time of year when the weather is finally beginning to warm up. Too chilly to get dressed in the morning and too hot to wear anything by noon. I'm in the process of saying goodbye to my wonderful knits as I push forward the florals and dresses to the front of my closet. Rampaged through my closet and rattled my brain as to what to wear this morning. When in doubt, sticking to a neutral palette is always a safe bet. Light outerwear and cardigans will be my best friend for the next few days.

The tulle skirt has been pulled out of the closet, which only means that I am so ready to sport some bare legs (if only Spring was here already). Loving soft colors and textures today, but when I feel like I'm running out of things to wear in my closet, I usually change up my makeup routine.

Switching up lip colors is the easiest way to experiment with makeup. Having a deep blood red smack across my lips is a little unorthodox for me, but I'm liking the change.

Apologies for such slouchiness, but it is yet another Monday. Mondays usually consist of morning heart attacks from the alarm clock, an overdose on caffeine, the excruciating wait for the elevator, and the rush to the printers before that 8:30am class.

Put on some trusty jeans and a little bit of layering and I guess, that's my definition of 'decent'. I have to give credit to all the insanely drugged-up looking faces all over my blouse, as it pretty much gives all the personality my outfit needed (as much personality on a Monday, that is).

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.

Although, I have to say, you can't go wrong with that. I'm anxious for the bright colors, crazy prints, and most of all, more feminine silhouettes. Spring is definitely my perfect excuse to wear that sundress or an insanely cute tropical printed pants I've been dying to purchase.

The weather has been warming up with each passing day this week. I think I shall be spending my weekend by the pool, lounging and writing in my moleskine journal (more like doodling).

Guys seem to have cooler T-Shits and I'm pretty sure I'll be finding myself it their department more often this coming season. I'm sporting all kinds of boyish elements this morning: chambray, loafers, and my trusty men's grey T-Shirt. How do men roll out of bed and still look good? Because they trust in their basics, so should you.

The cold weather has been making me resort to slouchy, grubby looks. But not to worry, spring is around the corner and I cannot stress how excited I am to head back to my girly roots. Is anyone else excited for floral skirts, printed jeans, and loose tops...without any layering? I know, I am.

I actually wore this outfit on Valentine's Day - soft, romantic, and the unconventional combo of stripes and florals. With this outfit, Vday wasn't as bad after all.

Reunited with the one and only, Aria, at Santa Monica today and it was a great way to end the long weekend. Our oddly-timed lunch was finger licking good. I'm so glad I was introduced to the oh-so-addicting, blended green tea boba. My life is officially complete.

Great food, perfect weather, and a one of a kind jacket. Thanks to Buffalo Exchange, I'm able to find gems like these. Not to mention, paid for it at a fraction of a price, which makes it practically free. For such a statement piece, keeping everything neutral is key.

Hopefully everyone is having a lovely long weekend. Definitely had some long overdue 'me' time today. Currently sipping on some Earl Grey, a lit vanilla candle, and Late Night Alumni's new album in the background. And of course, I can't forget a good hydrating facial mask.

Topshop is all the rage in LA right now. The perks of going to a fashion school is that we are perfect targets for such retailers. I was lucky enough to snag a free gift card and tote that they were handing out on campus. Obviously, my card only held $20, but hey, I wasn't complaining. I got myself an oversized tee, which I thought was only fitting.

On another note, I don't think you'll see me parting from my journal and these thrifted sunnies from Buffalo Exchange.

A little overdose of maroon today. To be honest, I think I got too much wear out of these maroon pants for the season, but I don't think I'm going to retire them anytime soon. It's a little late to jump on the hi-low bandwagon, but this has been sitting in my closet for way too long. Plus, the added flare to the outfit didn't hurt.

Having new discoveries through old things (or places) appears to be the theme today. Joann and I found a location on campus that we didn't notice before. It turned out quite well, I'd say.

I'm pretty grateful that LA doesn't have crazy blizzard weather much like NY, but that doesn't mean I can't pull out my leopard coat. You know it's cold enough for a coat when you can see your breath in the morning. Don't be fooled by the sunny weather, because my hands are pretty much frozen in these photos. Leather sleeves and leopard print? I couldn't have asked for more in a coat.

'Chill' probably best describes the way I feel about things today. My average performance on my morning exam didn't bug me the slightest, meh. Anywho...

Brrr...shut the front door (literally) cause LA just caught a slight breeze today. I usually like to layer up in oversized pieces when the city's experiencing some overcast. Not to mention, I cannot get over my obsession of anoraks...this one makes me feel like Sherlock Holmes - one badass detective. Four layers, collectable rings, and sunnies on a cloudy day? Sure...why not.

On another note, my newly found photographer and I are probably having too much fun helping each other out with our blogs. I think a collaboration post should be anticipated sometime in the near future.

DTLA is definitely my playground this quarter. Spending five days on campus and at the office sure keep things going for me. I love how the photos give a little glimpse of my campus and am so glad about the blissful clear skies lately.

I've been taking advantage of how the weather has been warming up and been relishing in thin cotton pieces. I think shoulders are underrated when it comes to sexiness and the bare midriff felt very 90s nostalgic. And of course, an all black outfit answers to all my short girl dilemmas.

It was a little bit of an impromptu shoot today as I was a little short on time and yes, I've convinced another one of my friends to oh-so-graciously take my photos. She's starting her own blog, so keep on the look out for that.

This week has drastically slowed down from the past two weeks and I'm quite enjoying this sluggish ride. A sluggish week means lazy behavior and attire to match. I can't seem to part with my comfy sweaters. This one just so happens to have extra thickness - that extra snuggle factor. I am loving how oversized, carefree, and not to mention, warm this turtleneck is. Definitely my favorite winter sweater this season.

These are my basic closet essentials as of late. Some have been or will forever be staples in my closet, such as my favorite leather belt and vintage sunnies. I cannot get over black accents these days. These black ankle boots have been worn religiously the past week. It's touched several blocks of DTLA and survived eight hour work days. LA has been warming up, but I'm hoping to get more wear out of this beanie - it just solves any bad hair day problems.
