"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." ~Amy Li

And no matter how many times we fought over stupid things, give each other a cold shoulder after a talk fight, and sometimes hurt each other (a little :P).. the day won't end if we don't end up talking and laughing back to each others' company.

I am not a "I love you, sis" type of person, but just so you know, I love you, both. And I thank the Lord that He gave you to me, to us. I am lucky that you both are not Amazona-type of person. Kundi, deads na ko kay maldita baya ko sa inyo. Hehe. Libreha nya ko ha. Sige ra ko libre ninyo. HAHAHA.

Vampire Academy

2011-05-19T04:33:00.000-07:00

One of my favorite books is the Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. It tells the story of a seventeen year old Dhampir girl named Rose Hathaway. She is training to be a bodyguard to her bestfriend, Vasilisa 'Lissa' Dragomir, a Moroi princess.

Rose is also mysteriously bonded to Lissa, she can read her mind and feelings. And while Rose is learning how to defeat the undead and evil vampires, or the Strigoi, she was caught in a forbidden romance with her instructor, Dimitri Belikov.

I give this book a two thumbs up. Read it too and maybe it will also be listed to your favorite-book-list. :)

Vampire Academy (Book 1)

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with an unbreakable bond to the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest and most dangerous vampires--the ones who never die.

The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a Dhampir; she is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making her one of them.

After two years of illicit freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. Rose will continue her Dhampir education. Lissa will go back to being Queen of the elite Moroi social scene. And both girls will resume breaking hearts.

Fear made Lissa and Rose run away from St. Vladimir's--but their world is fraught with danger both inside and out of the Academy's iron gates. Here, the cutthroat ranks of the Moroi perform unspeakable rituals and their secretive nature and love of the night creates an enigmatic world full of social complexities. Rose and Lissa must navigate through this dangerous world, confront the temptation of forbidden romance, and never once let their guard down, lest the Strigoi make Lissa one of them forever...

Frostbite (Book 2)

Rose Hathaway's got serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian. (So not cool).

Then a massive Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir's on high alert, and the Academy crawls with Guardians--including the legendary Janine Hathaway...Rose's formidable, long-absent mother. The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks. This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose--and her heart--are in more danger than she ever could have imagined...

Shadow Kiss (Book 3)

It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She's having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all...might be seeing ghosts.

As Rose questions her sanity, new complications arise. Lissa has begun experimenting with her magic once more, their enemy Victor Dashkov might be set free, and Rose's forbidden relationship with Dimitri is starting to heat up again. But when a deadly threat no one saw coming changes their entire world, Rose must put her own life on the line--and choose between the two people she loves most.

Blood Promise (Book 4)

Rose Hathaway's life will never be the same.

The recent attack on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose's neck, a mark that says she's killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?

Now, with everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir's and her unguarded, vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice herself for a chance at eternal love?

Spirit Bound (Book 5)

Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.

Last Sacrifice (Book 6)

It all comes down to now.

Murder. Love. Jealousy. And the ultimate sacrifice.

The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same. Now, with Rose awaiting wrongful execution and Lissa in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and to question those they thought they could trust...

But what if true freedom means sacrificing the most important thing of all?

Each other.

Watcha waiting for? Go buy your books now and read!

Secrets - One Republic

Secrets

One Republic

I need another story
Something to get off my chest
My life gets kinda boring
Need something that I can confess

'Til all my sleeves are stained red
From all the truth that I've said
Come by it honestly I swear
Thought you saw me wink, no
I've been on the brink, so

Tell me what you want to hear
Something that were like those years
I'm sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

This time
Don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away

My God
Amazing that we got this far
It's like we're chasing all those stars
Who's driving shiny big black cars

And everyday I see the news, all the problems that we could solve
And when a situation rises, just write it into an album
Seen it straight to go
I don't really like my flow, no, so

Tell me what you want to hear
Something that were like those years
I'm sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

This time
Don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away

Oh, got no reason, got not shame
Got no family I can blame
Just don't let me disappear
I'mma tell you everything

So tell me what you want to hear
Something that were like those years
I'm ick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

This time
Don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away

So tell me what you want to hear
Something that were like those years
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

This time
Don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away

All my secrets away
All my secrets away

Breakeven - The Script

Breakeven

The Script

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing,
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in,
'Coz I got time while she got freedom,
'Coz when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even.

Her best days will be some of my worst,
She finally met a man that's gonna put her first,
While I'm wide awake, she's no trouble sleeping,
'Coz when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even.

What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you
What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces
I'm falling to pieces

They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
'Coz she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even, even no.

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you
What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces

(Coz when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even)

You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain,
You took your suitcase, I took the blame.
Now I'm tryna make sense of what little remains, oh.
'Coz you left me with no love, with no love to my name.

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing,
Just prayed to a god that I don't believe in,
'Coz I got time while she got freedom,
'Coz when a heart breaks, no, it don't break,

no, it don't break, no it don't break even no.

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you
What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces,
(One still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
(Coz when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even)

Oh, it don't break even, no
Oh, it don't break even, no
Oh, It don't break even, no

Unhappy

2011-05-12T16:58:00.000-07:00

Truth to be told, I am not anymore happy with what Im doing.

Yes, I'm stressed but it should not matter. If I love what I'm doing, at the end of the day, I'll sleep with no worry and wakes up looking forward for the day.

But what's happening is the total opposite. I'm dreading everyday I go to work. I don't even have the energy to start my task. I don't know where to start and how to end.

I'm satisfied with my previous task and I'm loving it. But unfortunately, I was given a new task and moved to a new core group, and honestly, I am not loving it, nor closer to liking.

It's like this task is draining my energy everyday. My brain can't produce any idea anymore. I don't even like to smile cause I feel dead inside. I'm like a robot built to do what was commanded. No feelings, no emotions and can't even say No. And I don't want to talk to someone coz I fear I might burst to tears if I start blabbing.

So. Here is where I end up. Ruining my blog. Blabbing nonsense just to ease what I'm feeling. Please just ignore this. Kapeesh? :)

3 Idiots

2011-05-11T00:12:00.000-07:00

One of my top-of-list best movie today is the 2009 Indian comed film 3 Idiots. The film is about the three 'idiot' student as they struggle their way out of college.

Rancho, Farhan and Raju met at the Imperial College of Engineering (ICE) where they are all engineering students and shares a room in the dormitory. Farhan is a son of a father who wanted him to be an engineer. Farhan pursue he's father's wish despite of his wish to become a wildlife photographer. Raju is from a poor family with a sick father, unwed sister and a weeping mother. Raju is studying engineering to help his family rise above poverty. Rancho is the rebel among them, always questioning things and have different perspective in education. He plays as a fool but actually a real-brainer. He always tops the class, however, he's friends are always flunkeys. Despite of this, he encourages his friends and help them to graduate.

During their stay in the college, Rancho and his friends earn the wrath of Professor Virus, the college director. Because of this, he attempted many times to break up Rancho's friendship to Farhan and Raju.

Despite Rancho's fun and frolic, he surprises everyone by topping the class. Pia, the directors's daughter, even fall in love with him because of his kindness helping his friend and makes them realize their true calling - Farhan being a wildilfe photographer and Raju stepping out of his fears.

On their Graduation Day, after being awarded the best in their class, Rancho suddenly and mysteriously disappear without saying goodbye to his friends.

Years later, Farhan and Raju received a call from Silencer, Rancho's rival in class and now a wealthy businessman that promised to become more successful than him, that he found Rancho's whereabouts. Soon, they found themselves on a journey to find Rancho.

When they found Rancho's house, they found a different Rancho. They learned their friend Rancho, real name as Chhote, substitute the real Rancho in school since he disliked to study. Soon, Rancho revealed that their friend is a school teacher a small town.

They come out searching for Chhote/Rancho now named as Phunsukh Wangdu, a famous scientist and prospective businessman associate of Silencer.

The film 3 Idiots is a story of great friendship, unending hope, aspirations and goodness of life.

Upon watching the film, I got some quotes to ponder.

"With such fear of tomorrow, why live today?" - Rancho

"Life is a race, if you don't run fast, you'll get trampled." - Farhan

"Your friend fails, you feel bad. Your friend tops, you fell worse." - Farhan

"Don't chase success, be a good engineer. Success will chase you." - Rancho

Avoid meeting SICKNESS

2011-05-06T05:00:00.000-07:00

Summer is here. Time to get out in the sun and have fun. Yet, it is the time of the year that colds and flu lurks around the corner waiting to hit our immune system and leaves us sick at home.

Unfortunate for me, I got hit by colds and a damn sore throat, even though I took some precautions to avoid this sickness. But this colds and sore throat won't stop me in my work. What I did is to give remedy to this sickness, and it costs me some money and effort.

If you don't want to suffer like me, here are some few tips to avoid getting sick in the first place.

Hello vitamins C and E.
Vitamin C prevents you from getting colds and even helps you get over a cold faster. Also, "Vitamin E makes white blood cells more efficient at fighting off infection" explaines by Brian Levine, M.D., medical director of The Cough Center in Laguna Hills, CA. You can get Vitamin C by taking supplement or eating fruits vitamin-rich like citrus fruits. Almonds, peanut butter, and sunflower seeds are all good sources of E.

Restful sleep
When you body is fatigued, you tend to get sick because your body is tired and your immune system get weak. This will be the chance of flu to attack and get past of your defenses. So sleep well and don't deprive yourself of sleep.

Eat healthy
Include a healthy selection of vegetables and fruits in you diet. Avoid too much sugar as possible because it's known to your immune defenses.

Exercise
Yep, the most common tip but gives you a great defense against sickness. It's a great way to boost your immune system. It also increases you blood circulation and make it flow better, thus allowing your defenses to fight an illness in your system.

Wash and sanitize
It's the best prevention in getting flu. Wash your hands frequently using natural soap and lather up thoroughly, as long as singing a happy birthday song. With this, you can kill viral germs that causes colds and flu. Use a hand sanitizer if you can't wash your hands.

Drink regularly
Not alcoholic beverages, but water. Yes, drinking water regularly is healthful. It flushes out the toxins which cause diseases as well as other harmful substances that we expose ourselves everyday.

Have a good laugh
After all, laughter is the best medicine. :)

First Blood

2011-05-05T03:35:00.000-07:00

I'm a fan of blog sites coz I love reading. I always wanted to have a blog of my own but I'm just not good in maintaining one. That's because I'm a laaaaaaazy and start-now-finish-it-someday type. Also, I don't have the talent in writing, which is really unfortunate for me :) I'd attempted many times to keep a blog but it always ended up either empty or left hanging or simply forgotten. There was one blog I kept before - that's because it was required by our college professor - but luckily.. it was forgotten after I graduated. Since then, I always tried to set up a new blog but, yeah, it was, as always, forgotten.

And now, my friends/classmates a.k.a. Ban of Belers *scratch Belers*.. Ban of Brothers (BoB) got back to blogging (I dunno if they stopped like I did. :D). They always skyped to visit their blogs and blah blah. As their friend *angel face*, I visit their blog for the sake of an increase on their $. Haha. Nah. I did it just because they said so. But really, it's for the $, right? :)

One of my friend, Mish, got encourage to make a blog of her ow. So she did, and as well as I. Well, I just hope and pray to the gods of blog that I can keep this blog up and kicking.
FIRST BLOOD! *for this blog* :))
