Making Money Lesson 2: Blogs

In yesterday's lesson we learned about finding our niche and picking our topic. So if you followed my advice and choose your hobby, by now you should have:

Opened a paypal account.
Opened a click bank account
Picked a product from Clickbank to sell.

Now that we have the product we need somewhere to sell it from. And you guessed it we are going to use a blog. Now don't get to excited and began by posting nothing nut products on your page. You need to create an atmosphere of "friendship." What I mean is, if people come to your blog and it is just one huge advertisement, they will leave in a hurry. You can come across as overpowering.

First things first, you need a blog. The best place in my opinion to create a blog in right here on blogspot.com. So go to blogspot and create your blog. Follow their instructions and you should have no problems. Create your account and customize it any way you like. This is a blog to sell stuff so I recommend you pick a simple template, like this one. You can always change it later if you want to. This template I am using is the default one. Don't stress over this too much. You won't have any traffic yet.   Make sure you pick a name that relates to your niche. I personally don't ever use a persons name in the title or address. Once you have a title you like then you have to try out web addresses to see if what you want is available. Once you find one you are on your way.

While you are setting it up go ahead and start a Google ads account. From the my account page click on the monetize tab and follow directions. I don't think you can make muck money from adsense with only one blog, but i am surprised sometimes. Besides it doesn't hurt anything. Everyone is used to seeing them.

Take some time to play around with the different options. Explore what you can do with your blog. Go ahead, do it now...I'll wait.

Well now you have your blog so you need to get people to visit it. But first let's get a link to your product in your blog. If you haven't already go to clickbank and create a hoplink. I copy and paste this so I don't make a mistake transcribing. If you will click on the layout tab, there is a place to ad a gadget. Click it and find the link widget. A box will open up in a new window. Insert your link into the box and give it a title. Now everyone who visits your site will see this link.

Now how do we get people to your blog? Hold your horses. First we need something for them to see when they come here. So you need to post. What can you post. Well anything. Remember, though, we are not writing War and Peace. So it can be short. In fact I think short works better. People tend to have short attention spans.

People enjoy reading about other people's personal experiences. This is another reason I suggested picking your hobby. I want to to write a short article relating to your niche. Just let your creative juices flow and write about something you find interesting. If you find it interesting then maybe other people will too. You need to write about 400 - 500 words or about one page. Pick some of your key words. You want to put these key words in the article. Mention the key words in the first sentence and the last sentence and a couple of times in the middle. About once per 100 words is OK. This is for the search engines.

What we have to do is create your web presence. No one knows who you are so you have to build up your reputation. This takes a while, but it is not hard to do if you picked a niche you know something about. I recommend that you open MS Word or a similar program and write your article in it. You'll see why in a minute. Once you are finished, copy and paste it to post it on your blog. Congratulations, you are now published on the web.

Now for some of that work I talked about before. You need to rewrite your article using different words. Just go through your article and pick synonyms (words that mead the same) for words in your article. But DON'T change your key words. Once you have finished that we need to add a little html to it. I learned this on another person's website when I was just starting off. It helped me so I am passing it on to you.

It will help for you to see an example. If we stick to our same example, of bass fishing then my first line might look like

          Let me tell you about a time I went bass fishing and caught a true monster.

I know it is cheesy and you can come up with something better. This is just an example.

Now rewrite this sentence like <*a href="http:yourblogname.blogspot.com/">bass fishing<*/a>

You should replace yourblogname with the name of your blog. and bass fishing with your keywords. Make sure to delete the * out of the line. If i didn't put them in you would not see this. So it would look like this when you are finished.

          Let me tell you about a time I went bass fishing "and caught a true monster.

When you have finished this I want you to go to the website goarticles. Just type it into Google. Create an author's account and submit this article.

Making Money Online with No Startup Cost

How many times have you ever wondered how people make money online? I use to wonder this all the time myself. I always asked myself, How much money could I make online? That was always followed by the thought that I would never be able to afford the cost to start a business online.

Well I finally figured out how to make money online and it doesn't have any start up cost. In fact I can help you get set up and ready to make money almost immediately. Everything I am going to show you will be ways to start a business with no money down. Sound impossible? Well it's not and it is probably easier than you thought.

There are many different ways to make money online without having to pay a penny. You heard that right. Many different ways. Now where to start. I know you are impatient and want to start now but you need to bear with me. If we follow this is logical steps it will all make sense to you.

So where can you sell things online.

On a website
On a blog
an auction site like ebay
an classified ad site like craigslist.

Number 1, create your own website, is fantastic but that takes money. So we are not going to talk about that one.
Number 2, start a blog, is a great idea. That is what I am going to focus on. I am going to show you how to make money using blogs.
Number 3 and 4 are also great options. You can try these out right now.

Just find something in your house that you don't want any more: clothes, books, CDs, DVDs. Really anything will work.
Register with ebay, follow their instructions, and post you product. Wait and people will buy it.
Collect money in your paypal account. What you don't have a paypal account.

Stop right now and go open a paypal account. IMHO, It is buy far the easiest and fastest way to send or receive money. The people that buy your things are going to have to send the money somewhere. If you don't have a paypal account you can borrow mine, I promise to give you the money:)

OK, now back to our topic. How can I make money using a blog. I am dividing these lessons up. I will post a small lesson each day. This will make it easier for you to absorb each idea. Don't neglect any part of this. Each thing I will tell you is important.

Today's Money Making Lesson: Getting Started

Here is what we need to do step by step to start making money online.

Find a niche market you want to sell to.
Find what people want.
Create or find a product people will buy.
Market this product

First, do you research. You need a product to sell. How do you find this product? That's right...through research.

Let's look at choosing a niche. This simply means the type of business do you want to work in. This is your area of expertise. It is best if you can pick something you are interested in. If you have a hobby you can pick that as your niche.
Once you have chosen your niche, you have to research. During this part Google is your friend. Go to Google and search for your niche. When you find forums, join them. I personally like using forums.
Once you've searched Google and joined some forums, it is time to research. Here is what you do. In the forums, read the FAQs, read the post, and read some answers. What you are looking for is 5 - 10 questions that are very common. Also look for keywords that are constantly showing up. It is a good idea to always have a notepad close when you do this so you can write down the questions and the keywords. (This is why I recommend using a hobby especially at first. You already know the keywords and many of the questions people ask.)
You may have guessed it, how do know what to sell? You have to answer these questions. There are two ways to do this, one way is to write a book yourself that answers those questions. The easier way is to find a book that already answers those questions. Many times you can sell these books as an affiliate. Then you will get a portion of the money from each book.
How can you find these books? Go to clickbank. Search Google and it should be the number one result. You can join clickbank for free and then you can sell any of the products you see listed there. This is great because clickbank does all the work of dividing money and ensuring that you get your share.

Let me show you how this works with a real life example. Let's suppose that my hobby is fishing. That is my niche. Fishing. Now I might go even farther and choose Bass fishing. Even farther and choose Bass fishing in lakes. You get the idea.

I have chosen my niche. It is time for research. I will begin by googling bass fishing. I will read through the result trying to get familiar with the language bass fisherman use. I am especially looking for discussion forums. When I find these I will join them and read the FAQs and the forum posts.

After reading the post in 4 or 5 forums and maybe a few articles, I find that many fisherman want to know which bait is better in different situations. They want to know what to use when it is raining or cloudy, which bait works better in ponds, lakes, or rivers. You get the idea.

My job is to answer those questions. I can research and write a book myself or I can find a book on clickbank. I check out clickbank and find this book answers those questions. (Click Here!) Now I have picked my product and need to market it.
