Twilight Saga Casting
Summit Entertainment revealed that they would replace Rachelle Lefevre, who played an evil vampire named Victoria, with Bryce Dallas Howard in late July 2009. They attributed the change to scheduling conflicts, and Lefevre responded by saying she was "stunned" and "greatly saddened" by the decision. Bryce Dallas Howard was initially approached to play Victoria in Twilight, but she rejected it as it was "too small of a part".

Raizo (Rain) is one of the world's deadliest assassins, having been kidnapped as a child and raised by the Ozunu Clan, believed by the world to be a myth. When Raizo's friend is executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. He later reemerges, seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more. The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo. Hiding in Europe, Raizo and Mika must find a way to take down the Ozunu Clan.

Ninja Assassin Movie Production
Ninja Assassin is directed by James McTeigue and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers.The project was inspired by the ninja scenes featured in the Wachowskis' 2008 film Speed Racer, in which the actor Rain had impressed the Wachowskis with his portrayal as a fighter. The Wachowskis were dissatisfied with the original script, and hired J. Michael Straczynski to write a new draft for the film six weeks before it began production. As he was told the script had to be sent out to the actors by the end of the week, Straczynski completed the rewrite in 53 hours. Filming began in Berlin, Germany at the end of April 2008. Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg provided filmmakers US $1 million in funding,and Germany's Federal Film Fund provided an additional US$ 9 million to the film's funding. Filming took place in Babelsberg Studios and on location throughout Berlin.

McTeigue cited various influences in filming Ninja Assassin such as the films Panic in the Streets (1950), The Getaway (1972), Badlands (1973), Ninja Scroll (1993), and the television series Samurai Champloo (2004-2005).

Dragon Ball is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 through 1995, and later the 519 individual chapters were published into 42 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. Inspired by the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West, it follows the adventures of Son Goku from his childhood through middle age as he trains in martial arts and explores the world in search of the seven mystical objects known as the Dragon Balls, which are known to grant any wish. Along his trip, Goku meets several friends and fights against several villains who plan to get the Dragon Balls to grant their wishes and some who aim to conquer the world.

Plot

A monkey-tailed boy named Goku is found by an old martial arts expert who raises him as his grandson. One day Goku meets a girl named Bulma and together they go on a quest to retrieve the seven Dragon Balls, mythical objects that can summon a dragon who will grant any wish. Along the way, they meet and befriend a plethora of martial artists. They also undergo rigorous training regimes and educational programs in order to fight in the World Martial Arts Tournament, a tournament in which the most powerful fighters in the world compete. Outside the tournaments, Goku faces diverse villains such as Emperor Pilaf, the Red Ribbon Army, a demon known as Piccolo Daimao and his offspring.

As a young adult, Goku meets his older brother, Raditz, who tells him that they come from a race of extraterrestrials called Saiyans. The Saiyans had sent Goku to Earth to destroy it, but his ship crashes upon arrival. Goku fell into a deep ravine and lost all memory of his mission. Goku refuses to help Raditz continue the mission, after which he begins to encounter others who want to battle him, such as the Saiyan prince Vegeta. He also encounters Frieza, who is considered to be one of the strongest beings in the universe, after which Goku begins training his first child, Son Gohan, to be his successor. Years later, a group of soldiers from the Red Ribbon army known as androids appear to kill Goku. Another android, Cell, absorbs Androids #17 and #18 from the Red Ribbon army to increase his power, then fights Goku and Gohan, resulting in the former's death. Goku decides to stay dead for seven years to train in the Other World. When he returns, he is drawn into a battle for the universe against an extraterrestrial named Majin Buu. Joined by Vegeta and Gohan, the evil half of Buu is destroyed and the Good Buu (Mr. Buu) settles down with them. Ten years later at a martial arts tournament, Goku meets evil Buu's human reincarnation, Uub. At the end of the series, Goku takes Uub away on a journey to train him as another successor.

Dragon Ball Z

With the ending of Dragon Ball, Toei Animation quickly released a second anime television series, Dragon Ball Z , Doragon Bōru Zetto?, commonly abbreviated DBZ). Picking up where the first left off, Dragon Ball Z is adapted from the final twenty-six volumes of the manga series. It premiered in Japan on Fuji Television on April 26, 1989, taking over its predecessor's time slot, and ran for 291 episodes until its conclusion on January 31, 1996.

Dragon Ball GT

Produced by Toei Animation, Dragon Ball GT , Doragon Bōru Jī Tī?, G(rand) T(our)) premiered on Fuji TV on February 2, 1996, and ran until November 19, 1997. Unlike the first two series, it was not based on the original Dragon Ball manga.The series lasted 64 episodes.In Dragon Ball GT, Goku is turned back into a child by the Black Star Dragon Balls and is forced to travel across the universe to retrieve them.

Production :
In July 2007, Walt Disney Pictures hired Andy Fickman to direct and co-write with Matt Lopez the script for Witch Mountain as a "modern re-imagining" of Escape to Witch Mountain. The following August, actor Dwayne Johnson(The Rock) was cast into a lead role, with filming scheduled to begin in March 2008. Fickman did not describe the film as a remake, defining his production as "a new chapter within the world of Witch Mountain". The director also described the book in which the films are based as "a very cool dark thriller" and anticipated drawing elements from it that did not exist in the 1975 film.By March 2008, filmmakers were using a new script written by Mark Bomback. The film was re-titled Race to Witch Mountain, and it began filming in Los Angeles in the same month.

The convention center in Pomona, California was converted into the film's UFO Expo 9, and the interior of Witch Mountain was designed using photographs from a tour of NORAD's Cheyenne Mountain. A cabin for the story was also built in Agua Dulce, California. The director sought assistance from UFO experts, the military, and CIA advisers to shape the elements of the film. He also introduced a new element in the remake, an extraterrestrial creature called Siphon. The creature was conceived by the design team who created the look for Alien and Predator. (source)

Production :
Shooting began on December 3, 2007, in Mexico City, Mexico. Locations included the Universidad Tecnológica de México. From January 2, 2008, the crew shot at Durango. The crew will move to Estado de México in March for some shots at Nevado de Toluca. Shooting is also scheduled at Los Angeles, California. In adapting the Dragon Ball manga, the futuristic cities were kept, however, the anthropomorphic creatures and talking animals (such as Turtle, Oolong and Puar) were dropped. Many of the locations are very Oriental, and there will be some Aztec influence too, particularly from their temples. It was thought that Rossum would wear a blue wig to resemble her anime counterpart, but due to some promotional images, it was turned out that she would not be wearing a blue wig. Instead she will have her natural brown with a blue streak. Chatwin will not wear a wig as the director felt Chatwin's hair resembled Goku's. A large amount of Dragonball was shot in an abandoned jeans factory, also located in Durango, Mexico. (source)

Filming :
Filming began on March 12, 2007, with the first few weeks spent on Stark's captivity in Afghanistan. The cave where Stark is imprisoned was a 150-200 yard (150-200 m) long set, which was built with movable forks in the caverns to allow greater freedom for the film's crew. Production designer J. Michael Riva saw footage of a Taliban fighter in Afghanistan, and saw the cold breath as he spoke: realizing remote caves are actually very cold, Riva placed an air conditioning system in the set. He also sought Downey's advice about make-shift objects in prison, such as a sock being used to make tea. All this created greater authenticity. Afterwards, Stark's capture was filmed at Lone Pine, and other exterior scenes in Afghanistan were filmed at Olancha Sand Dunes. There, the crew had to endure two days of 40 to 60-mile an hour (60 to 100 km/h) winds. (source)

Music :
Composer Ramin Djawadi is an Iron Man fan, and still has issues of the comic from the late 1970s. While he normally composes after watching an assembly cut, Djawadi began work after seeing the teaser trailer. Favreau clearly envisioned a focus on "heavy" guitar in the score, and Djawadi composed the music on that instrument before arranging it for orchestra. The composer said Downey's performance inspired the several Iron Man themes (for his different moods), as well as Stark's playboy leitmotif. Djawadi's favorite of the Iron Man themes is the "kickass" because of its "rhythmic pattern that is a hook on its own. Very much like a machine." The other themes are "not so much character based, but rather plot based that carry you through the movie". Guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, who has a brief cameo in the film as a guard, contributed additional guitar work to the movie's soundtrack. (source)

Production :
The filming of Cadillac Records started in February 2008, in Newark,New Jersey and Mississippi, United States. Martin directed the film, and shot for Sony BMG Film.

Cadillac Records was produced by Andrew Lack and Sofia Sondervan, and co-executive produced by Beyoncé Knowles.

American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and music producer Steve Jordan will produce the soundtrack to the film. Knowles recorded five songs for the soundtrack, including a cover version of Etta James' "At Last" which will be released on December 2, 2008 as its lead single. Mos Def, Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, and Eamonn Walker recorded songs for the soundtrack, and Raphael Saadiq, Knowles' sister Solange, Mary Mary, Nas, Buddy Guy and Elvis Presley also appears on the album. Production :
The Punisher was filmed on location in Tampa, Florida. For inspiration, Hensleigh and cinematographer Conrad W. Hall looked at dozens of action movies from the 1960s and 1970s, such as the Dirty Harry series, The Getaway, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Godfather and Bonnie and Clyde. In an interview, Hensleigh also stated the film pays homage to Mad Max.

As stated above the story and plot were mainly based on two Punisher comic book stories; Welcome Back, Frank and The Punisher: Year One but before the film was released in theaters Jonathan Hensleigh was asked if the movie had been entirely based on The Punisher: Year One storyline. (source)

Release and reception :
The Punisher opened in 2,649 theaters on April 16, 2004 and grossed $13,834,527 over its opening weekend. The film has a domestic gross of $33,810,189 and a foreign gross of $20,889,916, giving it a worldwide total of $54,700,105.

On its release, it was met with mainly negative reviews, and recieved a 28% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many have defended the movie stating that compared to most comic book based movies, it is a well done throwback to the old school action movies of the 1960s and 1970s. (source)

Development :
In May 2007, director John Dahl was in talks to direct the movie, but decided to not helm the film, citing a bad script and lack of budget as reasons for passing. In June it was announced that Lexi Alexander would then take over the role as director as a result. On July 21, it was announced that actor Ray Stevenson would play the Punisher in the sequel to the 2004 film. Filming was slated to begin in October 2007 in Montreal. In August, a working title for the film, The Punisher: Welcome Back Frank was announced. On August 28, Lionsgate announced that the new working name for The Punisher 2 would be Punisher: War Zone. Paddy Considine was considered for the role of Jigsaw in the film but the offer was retracted. In mid-September, the director announced cast members joining Stevenson with Dash Mihok as Detective Martin Soap, Colin Salmon as Agent Paul Budiansky and Doug Hutchison as Loony Bin Jim. It was announced on September 25 via The Hollywood Reporter, that Dominic West will star as the main antagonist Jigsaw and Wayne Knight will play the Punisher's armorer Microchip. The film was set for September 12, 2008 release, but was pushed back 3 months to December 5, 2008. A teaser trailer was released on June 12, 2008. On July 25, 2008 Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News wrote an article claiming that Lexi Alexander had been removed as the film's director. A second trailer was revealed to the public at the San Diego ComicCon on the same day. Lexi Alexander did not make an appearance at the convention, which caused speculation from the fans who attended the film's panel to question whether or not her name has been taken off the film. On August 15, website Latino Review reported that Lionsgate would be editing the film to receive a PG-13 rating. The director of photography, Steve Gainer, later claimed that the movie will be "R" and that Lexi is still on-board the project. Production :
Shooting of the film started on May 5, 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The filmmakers had originally intended to begin filming on April 15 in Budapest, but a new twenty-five percent tax rebate and absence of an interest rate cap and floor made the filmmakers seek the cheaper New Mexico, because of their $200 million budget. To avoid delays caused by a possible 2008 Screen Actors Guild strike in July, all exterior scenes were completed by then, so production could restart easily. The shoot is expected to go on into September. The film is shot on color film stock with triple the amount of silver, lending to the sense of detachment from the modern world McG was looking for. The filmmakers consulted with many scientists about the effects of an abandoned world and nuclear winter. McG cited the film Children of Men and the novel The Road as his influences. McG instructed his cast to read the latter and made Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? required reading on set.(source)

Stan Winston, who was the visual effects supervisor on the first three films, continued his role on Terminator Salvation. The film features the rubber-skinned T-600s, which Winston's company put a lot of effort into looking like an eight-foot tall machine wrapped in prosthetics. McG described many of the machines as having a H. R. Giger influence. The film was one of the last Winston worked on, as he died on June 15, 2008 from multiple myeloma. Release :
The film will be released in North America on May 22, 2009, and it could be rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America, unlike the previous R-rated films. The producers cited the desire to broaden the series to a new audience and the modern leniency of violence in PG-13 films (such as Live Free or Die Hard), but they have stated that they will not force the rating. McG explained, "We have entertained the idea of a PG-13 rating largely because Batman Begins, in my opinion, was made compromise-free. So we'll see. The movie comes first and it will be protected at all times." He also added that studio executives Jeff Robinov and Jeff Blake gave their "blessing to make the picture and if it's a rated-R picture, it's a rated-R picture and that's that". (source)

After moving to San Francisco, the middle-aged New Yorker, Harvey Milk, became a Gay Rights activist and city politician. On his third attempt, he was elected to San Francisco's Board of Supervisors in 1977, making him the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in the USA. The following year, both he and the city's mayor, George Moscone, were shot to death by former city supervisor, Dan White, who blamed his former colleagues for denying White's attempt to rescind his resignation from the board.

Mr. Milk had been the subject of several books and the Academy Award-winning documentary feature, The Times of Harvey Milk (1984); but Milk (2008) is the first fictional feature to explore private aspects of the man's personal life and career.

Production :
The film was shot on location in San Francisco. Castro Street, where Milk's camera shop was located, was transformed to accurately depict the 1970s setting of the film. Other locations include San Francisco City Hall, Market Street and Duboce Park. Some interior scenes were shot on sound stages at Treasure Island. Filming most of the movie in San Francisco was seen by local officials, as well as the film's producers, as essential, given that "Harvey Milk is such a San Francisco story." (source)

Originally, Baz Luhrmann was planning to make a film about Alexander the Great starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman, with a screenplay by David Hare. The director had built a studio in the northern Sahara but a rival film made by Oliver Stone was released first and after a several years in development, Luhrmann abandoned the project to make a film closer to home.(source)

Luhrmann spent six months researching general Australian history. At one point, he considered setting his film during the First Fleet, 11 ships that sailed from Britain in 1787 and set up the first colony in New South Wales. The director wanted to explore Australia's relationship with England and their indigenous population. He decided to set the film between World War I and II in order to merge a historical romance with the Stolen Generation, where thousands of mixed-race Aboriginal children were forcibly removed from their families by the state and integrated into white society. Casting :
In May 2005, Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman entered negotiations to star in an untitled 20th Century Fox project written by director Baz Luhrmann and screenwriter Stuart Beattie, with Luhrmann directing the film. For her role, Kidman learned to round up cattle. In May 2006, due to Crowe's demanding personal script approval before signing onto the project, Luhrmann sought to replace the actor with Heath Ledger. According to Crowe, the actor did not want to work in an environment that was influenced by budgetary needs. About this casting issue, Luhrmann said, "it was hard pinning him down. Every time I was ready, Russell was in something else, and every time he was ready, I would be having another turmoil". The Pink Panther 2 is a sequel to the 2006 film, The Pink Panther. In the new film, Inspector Clouseau must team up with detectives from other European countries to rout the daring cat burglar, The Tornado, who has returned after a decade of inactivity. In the newly released teaser trailer for the film, premiering on June 6, 2008, the movie is called The Pink Panther 2, confirming the name originally chosen.

Steve Martin, who will reprise the role of Clouseau (originated by Peter Sellers), polished the original script written by Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber in November 2006. Columbia Pictures, partnering with MGM on the sequel, hired the team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to perform a further rewrite in January 2007.Production was scheduled to begin in February 2007 for a 2008 release, but the film was subsequently re-scheduled for February 13, 2009 release after shooting was pushed back until August 2007 due to the Canadian actors strike that derailed planned shooting in Montreal.The release date was later changed to February 6, 2009. Plot :
No one enjoys the holidays more than Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon).
