C G Ryche Performing at Palm Springs Arts Institue Masters Series

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Thu, 03 Dec 2009 04:23:00 +0000

It seems ever since this summer, when I spent hours in jazz clubs in Chicago,

I have been getting more into music... the sound and the visual.

I am a volunteer mentor with the Friends of the Arts Institute of Palm Springs High

School thanks to a top notch teacher and counselor named

Richard Kravitz. I will talk more about him and what he has done for PSHS in a future post...

Richard Kravitz is designing a better world for the students

of Palm Springs High School.

One of the programs he has put together for the Arts Institute is the Masters Program.

The first performer for this was C.G. Ryche.

I was overwhelmed by this percussionist...

C. G. and his wife were so very generous with their

time, they came from LA to Palm Springs for no money just to

show our students his music and to light a fire under them about

what they can achieve. Thank you C. G. Ryche.

And I just saw your

performance on PBS it was incredible.

C. G. has Performed & Choreographed percussion for companies including: The NFL, Disney, Nike, Pixar, Hollywood Picrtures, Major MMA events and PBS.

ART CHOCOLATE & TEA

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Thu, 12 Nov 2009 22:50:00 +0000

As most of you know I live in this darling little town called Palm Springs,

the last few posts have featured this enchanting desert city.

Palm Springs is also the backdrop for the classes I teach.

With winter season coming soon I will start teaching once again

Photography and Drawing

Today I am going to show you where I will be holding my sketching and photography classes. This is Cafe Chocolate on North Palm Canyon in Palm Springs

What better combination than Art Chocolate & Tea.

For both the photography and art classes we start off at this lovely cafe for tea

and Chocolate and discuss either photography or sketching.

The view setting is similar to what you would see in Europe.

And from this lovely little venue

here is what you see...

Is this inspirational?

In the photography classes I help you figure out your camera (digital) and I teach you how

to take incredible, moving photos. You can attend one class just to get you

started on the right track.

But if you want to get deeper into photography there are

more Photo Classes I offer that get deeper into photography.

Just email me at stopandsmile@me.com and

look on my blog Daily Art

or my web site Diane Patricia

I also teach drawing classes... same wonderful place...

all you need is a sketch book and a pencil or pen... and by the way, you can sketch the

beautiful scenery, or the deliciously creative chocolates.

So join me at the lovely

Cafe Chocolate for Tea, Art and Chocolate

515 N. Palm Canyon

Palm Springs...

email me .. Diane at stopandsmile@me.com

And make sure you stop by for lunch... it is very special.

Cafe Chocolate carries my favorite tea.. Tea Forte

Purple Plus Flowers

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Tue, 03 Nov 2009 04:43:00 +0000

When I went to Seattle to visit my wonderful friend Joy I had amazing flowers

waiting for me in my room...

Of course I took a million photos and these are my favorites.

A designer friend of mine bought the series of my flowers and a few of these ended up in a magnificent home in Hawaii. We blew them up and framed them simply with wide mats and a silver frame... walaaah!

Artistic Experiment...

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Fri, 30 Oct 2009 20:07:00 +0000

As artists we are constantly working on

new ways to express our vision... Take a look and let me know

what you think...love people watching .... love painting and photographing people

but it is hard to make them look alive and breathing ... so that is what this little adventure

is about.

I want to hold your hand

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Mon, 26 Oct 2009 03:00:00 +0000

For a little over a year I have been working on putting together a collection of photos on how we touch each other. Here are just a few from the collection. I would love to hear what you think, it looks as though I will be exhibiting these in Southern California (Palm Springs) this February.
As soon as everything is finalized I will release the information to all of you. Wish me luck, and if you want to see more just go to my web site www.DianePatricia.com .

Top 3 Designs to Personalize Your Computer

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Wed, 21 Oct 2009 20:50:00 +0000

As many of you know I have

started designing skins that are used

to personalize your computer.

I wanted to thank everyone for helping make

these 3 designs my top sellers

I so appreciate your using my work to

personalize your computer or phone

and to show your own style.

I came up with this idea because I spend a great deal of time in coffee shops working on computer and I wanted my precious Apple Computer

to have its own look. These designs are custom cut to fit whatever

computer, phone or mp3 player you may have. And if by chance

you have an Apple computer, there is a little perferation where the apple logo is

so that you can easily remove that part of the design and let your apple logo show thru. By the way I have on my computer another design of mine and when I was at a lecture in the Apple Store in Chicago the instructor stopped the lecture to find out "How did you get the most beautiful computer I ever saw?"

If you are interested in seeing these 3 designs and all my other designs just click on

Diane

I can also personalize a design for you, your company, whatever just contact me

at stopandsmile@mac.com

My Kind of Town, Chicago

lifestylesdefined@mac.com (Diane) — Mon, 15 Jun 2009 19:15:00 +0000

The Chicago River

The roof of a garden store in an old building in Highland Park.

One of the projects I will be working on will be photographing of peoples homes

and to make a memory book for generations to enjoy.

The back yard of one of these homes where a gazebo sits

looking over a Ravine and Lake Michigan

View of a pier from above while landing in Chicago

An alternative view of one of the most beautiful streets in the world.

Some interesting views of one of the greatest cities. I spent most of my life there and now I am a California girl and loving it. But a large part of my heart will always be in Chicago and I will be spending more time there again, visiting my loving daughter and teaching painting and photography. Here are just some random shots... I will be showing you more over the next few days.
