The POST UTME is a new program that was taken into consideration by all Universities in 2006, of which few were able to implement it against all odds. Now there is no turning back on it. Kaduna State University is one of the few.

The POST UTME Screening Exercise Tests are actually designed to put a check on the calibre of individuals admitted into the institution. It has been recorded in the past that some students who come in through JAMB have very high JAMB scores, but after admission they are unable to cope academically and it's been a wonder how a student who is supposed to be brilliant as he/she was admitted on merit is struggling to stay just below average.

ADMISSION INTO PROGRAMMES IN UNIVERSITY OF UYO
Gaining admission to study into the University is purely on merit. University of Uyo as a centre of excellence admits candidates with the requisite qualifications for their programmes of choice.
Admission through UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination)

Minimum of Credit passes in Five (5) subjects including English Language at the SSCE, GCE O’Level and any other equivalent examinations.
UTME score of at least 180 and above (Subject to change).
Post-UTME screening score of not less than 180 (Subject to Change).
In addition to the above, candidates must make University of Uyo 1st or 2nd choice to qualify to write the Post-UTME Screening Test.
Candidates who score less than 180 at the Post-UTME screening test are not eligible for admission into any programme in UNIUYO irrespective of any higher scores obtained at the UTME.
For final selection into programmes, the candidate’s average scores from the UTME and Post-UTME screening Tests are used.

Though the average score of 180 is the barest minimum for admission, the cut-off point changes form programme to programme based on the overall performance of the candidates in the programme.
Admission through Direct Entry

Minimum of credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language at SSCE, GCE O’Level or equivalent qualification.
Either an HSC, OND or NCE in the relevant programme to be undertaken in UNIUYO.
An acceptable score is prescribed for admission at the Direct Entry Screening Exercise.

University of Jos hereby invites candidates to participate in the computer based Post- UTME screening exercise for the 2012/2013 Session. Each candidate shall, on registration, be scheduled for the screening as from Monday, 4^th to Saturday, 9th June 2012.

The University website www.unijos.edu.ng will be opened from Friday, 25^th May 2012 to Friday, 8^th June 2012 for the online registration of candidates who have chosen the University as their 1st or 2nd choice.

A. Eligibility

All candidates who made the University of Jos their first or second choice and scored 180 marks and above in the UTME JAMB examination for 2012.

B. Venue:

Multipurpose Auditorium, Bauchi Road Campus, University of Jos, Jos.

Time: The computer based screening shall commence at 8:00am daily.

C. General Instructions:

(i) Candidates are expected to be at the screening centre, one hour before the scheduled time allotted to them.

(ii) Any candidate who fails to come for the screening exercise will automatically forfeit the chance of being considered for admission.

(iii) Withholding information or provision of wrong information will lead to instant disqualification.

(iv) Candidates are strongly advised not to come to the test centre with any electronic device such as GSM Phones, IPods, bags, etc., as these items will not be allowed inside the test hall.

(v) Parents, Guardians and other unauthorised persons are not allowed within the testing venue during the post-UTME screening.

(vi) The University of Jos does not condone any form of examination malpractice. Offenders shall be handed over to the law enforcement agents for prosecution in addition to being disqualified.

D. The Scheduling of the screening is as follows:

(i) Monday, 4^th & Tuesday, 5^th June 2012 - For candidates who applied for courses in the Faculties of: Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical sciences, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Education Sciences & Technology. The following subjects will be examined: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics & Chemistry.

(ii) Wednesday, 6^th & Thursday, 7^th June 2012 - For candidates who applied for courses in the Faculties of: Social Sciences, Management Sciences & Education Social Sciences/Management Sciences. The following subjects will be examined: English Language, Mathematics, Economics & Government.

(iii) Friday, 8^th & Saturday 9^th June 2012 - For candidates who applied for courses in the Faculties of Law, Arts & Education Arts. The following subjects will be examined: English Language, History & Government.

The results of the Post-UTME screening will be available on the University of Jos website, www.unijos.edu.ng on Monday, 11^th June 2012.

E. Specific Instructions:

(i) Each candidate shall pay a non-refundable fee of Two thousand Naira (N2, 000.00) only for the screening and for accessing the results.

Registration Procedure For Futa 2012/2013 Post-UTME
Each Futa post utme candidate is to make a payment of N2,000.00 (bank commission/charges included) at any commercial Bank nation-wide using the e-transact platform. Important Notice: Please note that the CANDIDATE’S UTME/DE Registration number and the full name should be correctly provided at the point of payment.
