Have you seen the trailer for the new Peter Rabbit movie? I am super excited to take my kids to the movie so they can watch mischievous Peter and all his farm and field friends get into a bunch of shenanigans!

My FAVORITE thing to do when I'm not busy with the hundreds of things going on in my life is to curl up in a quiet corner and read. I am such a book worm! I remember being a small child, in nursery school (does anyone else remember nursery school??? Was that a thing everywhere or just where I grew up.....I digress) and there was this lush bright yellow carpeted corner of the classroom that had shelves filled with books upon books. I was always drawn to books with the brightest illustrations! I didn't really 'read' at such a young age....but I certainly remember the images. One of my favorite books to thumb through was The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.

The images of Peter running through Mr. McGregor's farm, getting caught in a few traps, and finally returning home always stood out to me. It's a book that I would always grab and look through during quiet times. Suffice to say, I'm beyond excited to catch this tale on the big screen. I'm also inspired to start decorating my home for spring with all the fabulous items that Cost Plus World Market has available that are inspired by the new movie!

Recently, I was perusing the Cost Plus World Market site to see what items I could nab to decorate our home to create a Peter Rabbit spring mantle.

The first item that I immediately want to put on my list is this adorable Felted Wool Peter Rabbit Figure quite naturally, it's the star of the show and would be the perfect center piece for my mantle. To give it some height, I would place the figure on top of a stack of Mini Peter Rabbit Story Books .

The next item I found was this Peter Rabbit Snow Globe it's a treasure! You can see Peter doing what he does best - sneaking vegetables from Mr. McGregor's garden! This is such a fun collectible - I consider this a MUST HAVE item....additionally, I would definitely add these Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail Paper Pulp Peter Rabbit Sisters Figures and each figure has the character's name added to the base. The Blue And Green Peter Rabbit Ceramic Egg Cookie Jars are DARLING! I love the silhouette shape and that they can be used as a jar or vase! They would look perfect positioned on opposite ends of my mantle!

This tale takes place mostly on a farm....so quite naturally my mantle will need to scream Farmhouse style! When I saw this decorative Metal Wheelbarrow I knew that it would be a perfect fit. It would look so festive filled with Bright Green Exelsior, Faux Heather Bundles and these Peter Rabbit Candied Sunflower Seeds - I love that they are wrapped in a carrot shaped package - so fun!

Every mantle deserves certain key pieces that perhaps, wouldn't necessarily be used as decoration, but could certainly serve a dual purpose, whether that be a decorative plate or a tray, and these Peter Rabbit Melamine Egg Shaped Plates or these Peter Rabbit Veggie Plates are and 'eggs'-cellent choice! I'd either place some of these treat-filled Peter Rabbit Easter Crackers on them or prop one up on a plate stand and present it as a display piece. I also like the idea of stacking these Veggie Bowls on top of each other and filling them with decorative pastel eggs! The good thing is that the bowls and plates are also great for kids parties and because they're Melamine, they're practically unbreakable!

I'd be amiss if I didn't include either this vibrant and colorful Wood Happy Easter Garland to the my spring mantle. It would look perfect swagged across the front. I would even add this Pastel Egg Wreath Decor the twisted vine and leafy accents reminds me of the berry vines that Peter gets tangled in and it will work seamlessly into my Easter decor.

I'm so excited that spring is upon us and I can get my home ready for the Easter holiday. I'm equally anxious to see this movie! Punny Valentine's Ideas

Today's post may be a bit random and sporadic, and that's because IT IS! I don't often post about items in my Etsy shop.....but I'm so excited about this that I am putting it out there....

Last year, I created a huge handful of printable punny Valentine's to sell over in my Etsy shop. This year, I created a few more. Last weekend, I shared my first REAL Facebook live for my page and am getting a HUGE response to these tags.

I created them for convenience. I know there are a lot of moms who are waiting until the last minute to get those classroom Valentine's and we can't always find what we're looking for. So, I figured, make a few tags, that moms can download, print, then cut out and attach to some fun toys or candy...and hey, make them PUNNY! Chinese New Year Pot Sticker Station

I'm a celebration girl and love just about any chance to entertain. With Chinese New Year fast approaching I wanted to share a few simple ideas for setting up a Chinese New Year Pot Sticker Station.

Dumplings (sometimes called potstickers) are a main staple of many Chinese New Year celebrations. If you're hosting a Chinese New Year celebration this year, you may want to head to Cost Plus World Market to decorate your space. There were so many beautiful Chinese New Year Decorations at my local store at Pentagon Row in Arlington, Va

We have an old vintage dresser that we converted into a buffet for our dining room. It's typically where I set up all of our food and desserts when we're hosting gatherings. Normally, it's just decorated simply with a bouquet, the kids schoolwork....or mail....but I cleaned it off nice for this post ;)

I set up my Pot Sticker station by hanging a black fabric over a curtain rod for a backdrop behind the buffet. Most Asian design is very simple and minimalist and I wanted to keep to that aesthetic. Red is a color of good fortune and a must when decorating for Chinese New Year, so, I placed a Red Hexagonal Porcelain Jar on top of a wooden crate to display a dainty pair of White Velvet Plum Blossoms . Inside the wooden crate, I added tasting square tidbit plates that displayed clementines, which are another symbol of good fortune.

Blending nature into the design, a key component to most Asian design, I placed a woven fiber runner on top of a red table cover. The dumplings were placed in bamboo steaming baskets. I thought they needed a pop of color so, I added a Lucky Coin Hanging Decor onto each of them.

Brown Ironwood chopsticks were placed on top of a Matte Black Sushi plate. Also on the table, I added these Shanghai Dip Bowls for my dipping sauce (recipe follows).

To dress up the chopsticks, I found a beautiful gift bag at Cost Plus World Market that I just had to use in this set up. I cut a few strips and wrapped them around the chopsticks and I love how they turned out.

Since I am SUPER intimidated by making dumplings I ordered them from my favorite Chinese Take-Out restaurant. What I do know how to make is a great dipping sauce to go with the dumplings.
To make the sauce, all you need is:

1/2 cup Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Marukan Lite Rice Wine Vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Lee Kum Kee Chili Oil Sauce
1 tablespoon fresh chopped garlic
2 sprigs green onions, chopped
Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

TO MAKE THE DIPPING SAUCE
Whisk all the ingredients together and enjoy (see.....I told you it was super simple!) Tip: You can use low sodium soy sauce and skip the sugar for this recipe.

Prior to writing this post, I didn't know very much about Chinese New Year, but I know I love so many things about Chinese culture, design and cuisine. So, I've also decided to share 10 Things to Know about Chinese New Year.

10 Things to Know about Chinese New Year

• Red and gold are common colors used through the holiday and are symbols of good fortune and prosperity.

• Clementines are often given as gifts of good fortune.

• Fireworks are used to scare evil spirits.

• Dumplings are a main food item in most Lunar New Year celebrations.

• Chinese New Year is a time to start things new and sometimes called Spring Festival....people will use this time to make amends, reconcile and clean house (but only after the 5th day - otherwise cleaning/sweeping is considered moving out the good luck!)

• The holiday is actually celebrated in many of Asian countries like, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia!

• Chinese new year lasts 15 days lasting from the new moon to the full moon.

• The last day of the Chinese New Year ends with the Lantern Festival.

• Red Envelopes are passed out as a way to pass on good luck and a typically handed out to young children.

• The world's largest travel migration happens during Chinese New Year.

Don't forget to send your guests home with Chinese take out boxes filled with fortune cookies or chocolate coins- and don't forget to pass out red envelopes to children, they are perfect Chinese New Year Gifts. I made these take out boxes and envelopes using my Cricut machine.

Easy New Year Hairstyles

A few years ago I became an official Wiggy (lady who wears wigs often), mostly because I have Hashimoto's and suffer from hair loss as a result. Letter to Santa Printable

When I was little girl, we had this huge birch wood paneled wall unit that had a fake built-in fire place with a real life-like rolling fire. I was told by my grandmother, that every Christmas Eve, Santa came through that 'fire place' to deliver his presents on Christmas Day.

As a child, I was pretty good at figuring things out- especially when they didn't make sense. That being said, around the age of seven, I realized that there is no possible way a whole man can fit down a chimney and survive jumping through a fire without the inevitable happening. If that wasn't possible....it absolutely, most certainly, wasn't happening if we didn't even have a chimney with a real fire place.

Well, as I shared in an earlier post, my kids questioning Santa's existence.....because of all the playground talk about ~~the cover up~~ him being an imaginary person. Maybe in a way, I'm lucky, because no one ever really told me that Santa wasn't real....so, all these years, I still kept up this idea that even if I couldn't see him...there must be something special in imagining that he was. That's why, I still continued to believe, love and revel in the magic of Christmas!

Christmas is absolutely one of my most favorite holidays. So, I kind of feel bad (not really) that my kids are just at that age where they're questioning if the jolly man in the red suit is real. So....as any good mom....ahem.....I over compensate by doing all the fun Christmas Eve things for my kiddos.

Each and every year, we keep tradition and leave out cookies and write letters to Santa on Christmas Eve on the coffee table. This year I upped the ante and set up a Treats for Santa Station and designed printable Letters to Santa templates for my kids to easily list ways they've behaved and to let Santa know their Christmas wish.

I found a cute North Pole mailbox at Michaels to put our letters in....I can't tell you how many times I walked past it on my many visits to the store (as I practically live at Micheals). Luckily, I nabbed it during a good sale and it is perfect!

I'll be spending the rest of the week making lots of Christmas crafts, decorating, baking and watching movies with my kids and hubby. I am excited that the end of the year is here and that I can (hopefully) take some much needed time to spend with my family. I've already started some crafting and decorating my 'holiday' home.

I've had a very busy year and I love my family for supporting me and being patient with me as I continue to push through on my blogging journey and run my Etsy shop. They deserve my time and attention and I'm just ready to give it all to them! I hope you are also spending lots of quality time with your loved ones and making magical holiday memories.

Christmas Eve Treats for Santa

Lately, my son has been questioning the existence of Santa Claus - like, a lot. He's at an age where most of the kids are finding out the real deal. Yet (to my delight), he still believes in Old St. Nick and refuses to feed into any of the stories his little buddies on the playground are telling him about Mom and Dad being the gifting culprits. My daughter on the other hand....she 'believes'....but she's still trying to disprove. She's placed a cute sign in her room on a dry erase board that says, Santa, if you came please sign here.

Well, since we still have a few believers in our house, I thought that a fun way to make the most of the magic of Christmas would be to set up a special treats station for Santa. What better way to get in good with Santa than offering up a nice and warm and welcome to our home as he's making his rounds on Christmas Eve?

I chose some products from Oriental Trading Company to help create a festive treat station with delicious plate of cookies, cupcakes and Christmas favor boxes filled with 'reindeer nibble' (mini pretzels, popcorn, melted white chocolate, sprinkles, and Christmas M&M's)

This is such an easy idea to recreate. I didn't go all out with treats, we just chose some of Santa's favorite cookies and snacks from the store bakery section. The station was set up in the man cave...on account it's the perfect setting for Santa to slip down the fireplace and out of our wood burning stove. I placed the cupcakes and cookies onto layered paper plates from Oriental Trading Company. A delicious cup of hot cocoa would await a chilly Santa Claus and warm him right on up. On his way out, Santa can grab a treat box filled with reindeer nibble for his herd to keep them going through the night.

I really wanted to make this space bright and fun. So, I chose festive pieces like this whimsical table top rocket sleigh featuring Santa and all his North Pole pals. I really got a kick out of the expressions on their faces.

I also loved these felt cone trees. I placed them on either side of the stove and I think they give just the right pop of color and accent that space well.

The wooden painted Nordic Noel Ornaments were perfect addition to our white 4 foot tree, while the Nordic Noel tree skirt tied it all together and to finish it all off a pompom star tree topper - of course!

Although my kids are just about at the age where they realize that Santa coming down the chimney to bring them gifts, my not be real, I still love that they believe just enough in the wonder and spirit of Christmas....and so long as they believe, I'll keep finding fun ways to make their holiday magical!......and I know that 'Santa' will enjoy nibbling on his sweet treats while drinking his 'special' hot cocoa on Christmas Eve ;)

I have a funny little story to share......The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, my poor son was just so DONE with all the attention placed on Christmas. How to Host a Friendsgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is literally a few short days away and you may find yourself looking for last minute ideas for hosting a small gathering of friends....also known as a Friendsgiving.

A Friendsgiving is a great way to host your friends for the Thanksgiving holiday, but you don't have to break the bank or do a lot of work to get ready - especially with my easy and affordable tips for setting a beautiful tablescape and preparing a delicious meal. Below are some ideas and tips that I have on how to pull together a quick tablescape and meal for your closest pals.

With the right combination of decorative pieces, you can create a beautiful tablescape that looks like you put in a ton of work....(but you really didn't)....I used a gold shimmer burlap table runner, a faux boxwood garland, mirror glass votives and metallic string placemats as the foundation of tablescape. Using the votives creates a very intimate space and provides an extra element of lighting. Spacing out votive candles with autumnal elements, like decorative pumpkins, down the center of your table, you can create perfectly natural looking centerpiece that will certainly wow your guests.

Little details like burlap bows hot glued to the ends of the runner add another level of dimension to a simple decorative piece. I just love, love, love mixing elegant pieces with more casual pieces and the combination of metallics and burlap completes this look perfectly.

Make it easy for guests to find their place at the table. I painted wood cut gourds gold and white and wrote down the names of my special friends. This is a simple DIY and if you add a magnet to the back of the place cards, your guests can take them home to attach to their fridge or magnet board as an instant thank you gift!

Instead of florals, I used a faux boxwood garland to fill in the middle of the table along with decorative pumpkins from my fall decor stash. There is so much you can do with a few decorative pieces. Keeping special occasional dinnerware on hand will always come in handy.

If you need an affordable idea for feeding your guests, my quick and easy tip for preparing a Friendsgiving meal is to keep it super simple.

I went to my local Aldi and Trader Joe's and found a full meal to feed 4-6 people for less than $35. Trader Joe's had a Turkey En Croute with cranberry sauce and gravy for $12.99! That's a major score. I also found frozen green beans and pearl onions, and frozen sweet potatoes...I doctored the side dishes up with spices and herbs and turned out a delicious meal! I was even able to find mini pies from Aldi that were a perfect treat for dessert.

What makes this idea THE BEST is that there is very little clean up and the time to prep and cook everything was less than two hours!

Pulling together a last minute Friendsgiving is totally doable. Just remember my tips when setting it up:

Simple decor can go a long way, a few elegant pieces mixed in with casual everyday tableware and linens will give you a stunning tablescape.

Dress up your place settings with cloth napkins, thank you tags and a few botanical sprigs (faux or real).

Make gifts serve a dual purpose by personalizing take home name cards....they'll mean a lot to your besties because you made them (and they take no time at all to make).

Make meal prep effortless with heat and go dishes that you can easily flavor with flair!

Winter Holiday Drink Station

I absolutely love hosting parties in my home, especially during the holidays. For years, I've centered most of our entertaining around our kids likes. As they're getting older now and our family dynamics are changing, I'm turning more of our entertaining towards adult flair and fashion. That being said, I realized with the holidays fast approaching, I needed to get our home into holiday hostessing shape.

We have a vintage dresser that my husband converted into a buffet for our dining room. I usually use it for displaying desserts or food when we entertain....mostly, it's just set up with regular seasonal decor and sometimes ends up being a catch all spot for homework - you know....real-life living.

Recently, we changed the location of the buffet in the dining space. It is now situated in front of our dining room window....that window has an eyesore of an AC unit behind those velvet curtains. So, this setup is great for colder weather months....but it will certainly not work for the spring or summer. This setup also works great as I can change out the drapery to suit the decor I plan use for whatever particular holiday occasion I'm hostessing.

We have an actual bar in our home but it is located in the Man Cave. We also have a liquor cabinet in our dining space as well, but it doesn't function as a suitable place to mix and serve drinks. Since most of our holiday entertaining takes place in the main living area of our home, I decided to use our buffet as a drink station.

I love the holiday selection at Cost Plus World Market so, I headed to my local store at Pentagon Row in Arlington, VA to find some essential Christmas Dinnerware pieces for our festive holiday Christmas Food and Drink station. There were so many Christmas Decorations/ChristmasDécor options to choose from.

I was instantly drawn to some of the icy accented decor as it reminded me of the day after a beautiful snowfall, from my years growing up in Connecticut. I also thought the bold golden metallic glassware that I found was just beautiful and deserved a spot at our drink station.

Here are my tips and suggestions on pulling together a winter holiday drink station for your home.

To set a winter holiday drink station, I recommend decorating with snow and iced kissed decor. You can hang icy wreaths as a focal point to your backdrop. They're festive and seasonal and add just the right decorative touch to the space.

Use metallic and mirrored pieces to bring lots of light and reflection to your drink station. I found a beautiful mirrored tray and placed metallic confetti gold glassware on it. I also added a few whimsical decorative snow birds and some fresh rosemary sprigs to create a winter look and feel to the table.

I like to offer guests options for their adult beverages, some people like alcohol and some do not. So, for a signature drink, I recommend trying an Elderberry Cordial. It's a very concentrated fruit blend that must be diluted with, sparkling water or juice for a non-alcoholic drink. However, if you'll be serving alcoholic drinks, you can add white wine or vodka.

I like to place Vodka or Gin in a large glass flask alongside the rest of the mix-ins. This lets guests control what they would like in their drinks. The cordial and sparkling water is the base for your cocktail mix and can be combined in a decanter.

Set out garnishing to complete your drink set up - I think cranberries and fresh sprigs of Rosemary are perfect complements and trust me, the Rosemary adds just the most subtle and delightful flavor to your holiday drink!

When serving drinks, its a really good idea to offer some edibles. Cost Plus World Market has a wonderful selection of quality gourmet meats. You can create a simple meat and cheese platter and garnished with fresh seasonal fruit and rosemary. You can present them on a white platter, slate tile or cheeseboard, whatever you have on hand would work perfectly.

Don't forget to add festive plates for your appetizers and bites!

Adding a bit of candle light is another way to bring light and reflection to your drink station. I like to use battery powered candles and dress them up with decorative candle rings.

Holiday entertaining is always a joy for me to share with those in my life I love dearly. I hope you will be able to use some of the tips I shared on creating a winter holiday drink station and that your next holiday gathering is full of fun, food and good times.

Black Unicorn Pumpkin

We have finally arrived at Day 13 of the 13 Days of Handmade Halloween and I'm so excited to be the one to close out our series with a DIY on how to make a Black Unicorn Pumpkin.

So, the story behind this idea was spontaneously inspired by my sweet friend, Cindy's Black Unicorn planner sticker designs that she sells in her Etsy shop, The Queen Pea! I was looking for a white pumpkin for this project and couldn't find the right style or size. There were bunches of black pumpkins available so, I figured...hey...I'll take a cue from Cindy and make a black unicorn!

Also, my daughter loves unicorns right now and I know they're super trendy so, I figured, why not? So, she and I worked on making her very own 'Uni-Pumpkin'.

Here's the how-to....

Supplies:

Craft Pumpkin (Black)
Adhesive Glittered Craft Foam

Faux Flowers
Yarn
Yarn pompoms, various sizes
Puff Paint
Hot Glue

To create the unicorn pumpkin, first, cut out two sets of triangles in two sizes for the ears out of foam and glue them together and set aside. Take about a 4" square of glittered foam and cut a curved end from the bottom of the square from one corner to the opposite corner, creating a curved triangle. Shape the foam into a cone and twist to create a horn. Set aside.

Next, create a loop 12"-15" of yarn by winding the yarn around a wide piece of cardboard. You can also use your arm bent at the elbow. Once you have the yarn looped as many times as you'd like (around 30-50 loops) you can tie it off at one end about 1/3 of the way from the top of one end of the yarn loop. Then, cut each looped end in half. This will be the mane. Attach the mane with hot glue, leaving the 'stem' of the pumpkin exposed.

Next, add the horn to the stem area and ears attach the ears to the top of the pumpkin. After that, hot glue yarn pompoms in various sizes in front of the horn and for a final touch, a few faux flowers to the unicorn.

Then, using puff paint and draw on the eyes and mouth.

This unicorn pumpkin is my fave thing made this far for Halloween since it is all my sweet girl's handmade creation.....and she just loves it

Halloween PopCorn Box Party 2017: Candy Corn Treat

I'm so excited to be participating, again, in creative blogger and illustrator, Laura Kelly's Halloween Popcorn Box party this year!

Laura sent me, along with a host of other talented bloggers, products from, Cost Plus World Market, Oriental Trading Company, Kunin Felt and Udderly Smooth .

I wanted to use all of the fun craft items that, Laura shipped to me. So, I decided to make a candy corn felt tag and use the box as a nice Halloween treats gift and favor box.

To dress up my box, I started by grabbing a piece of scrapbook paper, tracing around one side of the box to create a template. I cut out four pieces of the paper and then adhered them to the box to cover it up.

Once that step was completed, I made my Candy Corn felt tag.
To make the tag, I hand drew a triangle onto cardstock and rounded the corners. If you don’t have a corner round punch, you can always use a cap from a water bottle and trace around that. I traced my template and cut out the shape from a yellow, white and orange piece of felt.

The same technique can be used to make the mouth layer for the tag, and you just would cut black felt in half once your circle is cut. For the cheeks, I carefully traced around a pencil eraser and cut that out of pink felt.

When all my layers of felt were cut, I stacked the layer together and cut 1/3 off the top of the orange layer, then 2/3 off of the yellow layer. I used hot glue to attach all my pieces together and set it aside to dry.

Using some of the treats that Laura sent, I grabbed orange, yellow and white paper shred, added it to a clear bag, and placed the treats inside. Then I added a little tag with some festive ribbon. I also put some paper shred in the box with the clear bag of treats into the popcorn box. Finally, I attached the felt candy corn tag with a mini paper clip!

I love the idea of upcycling a popcorn box to use as a fun gift giving idea. The Halloween Popcorn Box Party is always so much fun! Check out last year's popcorn box here.

We love a good scary movie in our house and let me just say that Michelle Stewart of Michelle's Party Plan It hit the nail on the head.....and made it bleed with this eery project Look at the Scary Hockey Mask she created!

Solar Light Ghosts

Woo-hoo - we are at Day Five of the 13 Days of Handmade Halloween and today's project is a fun idea is from our fabulous maker, Stephanie Knieram of Designs bySK. These Solar Light Ghosts are so perfectly adorable! I can totally see putting these up in the kids rooms as night lights and even staking a few along our walkway!

Flamingo Trunk or Treat

YAY FOR HALLOWEEN!

I'm so excited to be part of the Trunk or Treat Blog Hop hosted by Nikki Willis of Tikkido. Each year she rounds up some of the most fabulous creative bloggers and lets us share some pretty awesome ideas for decking out our rides for a trunk or treat.

This year, I was really into flamingos....I went to San Diego in April and visited the zoo during my stay and got to see these beautiful pink birds and was instantly hooked. Everything was just flamingo this and that for me after that trip. So, I figured, it would just make sense to round up my Halloween with a Flamingo themed trunk or treat!

Oh and if you're wondering what a trunk or treat is....it's a fun way for kids and families to trick or treat. Usually hosted by community organizations, churches or neighborhoods, sometimes in parking lots or other outdoors spaces. Folks dress up their vehicles...trunks and pass out candy or treats. It's really fun and you should try it!

For this year's trunk or treat, I was lucky enough to again, work with my favorite party supplier, Oriental TradingCompany, to get some fun flamingo themed products.

If you need ideas on how to set up your trunk for a trunk or treat, I have some tips. I always start with a fabric cloth...usually a dark one because it blocks the light. I always tack the fabric and other items I am hanging up with t-pins or straight pins. For my set up, I just hung a dark fabric behind a pink plastic table cover. Then, I hung a Trick or Treat banner up using pins as well.

My next step was to create some sort of facade to somewhat dress up the not so pretty parts of hubby's car....and just really for overall decor. Faux tropical leaves were perfect for this and I added a few pink balloons blown up at different sizes for a pop of color! They almost look like flowers! A few colorful streamers were added to the mix just to hide more of the car. Here's another tip, use a strong double stick tape to hold items like this into place. They attach to metal and plastic easily and can be taken off without leaving anything on the car.

I placed one of my go-to fabric coverings on the floor of the trunk. The black and white stripes pick up the black and white colors in the Trick or Treat banner perfectly. I added more pops of color with a few decorative paper rosettes, a pink feather boa, and striped balloons from Oriental TradingCompany.

...and I had to add a pink pumpkin....of course.

To finish everything off, I added a fun lightbox sign, wooden flamingos, along with a few favor boxes filled with candy and flamingo pinwheels! I chose my candy because they were 'sticks' as a nod to the long legs of the flamingos.

I always like to have a fun show stopper and this large inflatable flamingo was SO perfect!

A trunk or treat is all about having fun. It doesn't have to always fit a typical Halloween theme - just use your imagination and go for it.

Day of the Dead Wreath

It's day 4 of the 13 Days of Handmade Halloween and things are getting creepily spooktacular! Tonya Coleman from Soiree Event Design has a very fabulous Day of the Dead wreath DIY that certainly won't scare away your trick or treaters!

Isn't it fabulous? I'm in love with all the bright colors and textures. I am definitely putting this project on my make it list!

DIY Handmade Halloween Skeleton Trick or Treat Bag

How to Make a Googly Eye Headband
