APPS are becoming the craze and although we would like to have ALL bases covered from the start, we did not want to wait until all phone apps were developed for each type of smart phone (Yes, we ARE developing apps for other smart devices). We realize there are other markets and we aim to go after every market there is! You do NOT have to own an Iphone, Itouch or Ipad to succeed here..The name of the game is to FIND those people who DO use those devices and GIVE them this APP, free of charge (we will give you the tools to do this!)

When I was in Dubai, people were using their Iphones, when I was in Oxford, people were chatting and texting away with their Iphones and Ipads and when I was in the airport today in Phoenix, I must have seen at least 20 people or more using Iphones and IPads! Ever been to an APPLE store? It is like a CIRCUS!

To drive home my point, all you have to do is visit your local mall and stand outside of the APPLE store and you will SEE and FEEL the enthusiasm that Apple customers have for their products. This type of customer is a great customer for you and whether you own an APPLE product or NOT, it does not matter. We are giving you the tools to ATTRACT Apple customers! Would it be good to experiment some day with buying an Itouch (you can get them for less than $200)? ABSOLUTLEY, however it is NOT a requirement. Apple users are ALL around you every day and you will begin to notice just HOW MANY people use these smart phones and devices. Myself, I use an Iphone however I am a PC guy still!

BVD Update-Part 3 Of Expose Involve & Upgrade Sequence

This is part 3 of the 3 part series regarding the initial emails that BVD corporate will be sending to new clients to help expose, involve and upgrade them into the world of BVD!.If you did not read yesterdays update, please do so now (it is below this update).

This week I have 6 important items to go over with everyone on the team. These “items” are 6 initial emails that will be automated and will be more like WEB PAGES that your new listing clients will see. The Labradoodle as a dog breed is still developing, and does not yet "breed true," i.e., puppies do not have consistently predictable characteristics. While many Labradoodles display desired traits, their appearance and behavioral characteristics remain, from an overall breed standpoint, unpredictable.

As such, Labradoodles' hair can be anywhere from wiry to soft, and may be straight, wavy, or curly. Some Labradoodles do shed, although the coat usually sheds less and has less dog odor than that of a Labrador Retriever. The color range includes white, cream, gold, apricot, red, brown and black, and most of the other colors seen in Poodles.

Like most Labrador Retrievers and Poodles, Labradoodles are generally friendly, energetic and good with families and children (although as with any dog the temperament may vary between individuals). Labradoodles also often display an affinity for water and the strong swimming ability present in both their parent breeds.

Like their parent breeds, both of which are amongst the world's most intelligent dog breeds, Labradooodles are very intelligent and quite trainable. Labradoodles can be taught to obey verbal or sign language commands, or both, and remain commonly used as guide dogs for disabled or handicapped persons around the world.

There is no universal consensus as to whether breeders should aim to have Labradoodles recognized as a breed. Some breeders prefer to restrict breeding to early generation dogs (i.e. bred from a Poodle and Labrador rather than from two Labradoodles) to maximise genetic diversity, in order to avoid the inherited health problems that have plagued some dog breeds.

Others are breeding Labradoodle to Labradoodle over successive generations, and trying to establish a new dog breed. These dogs are usually referred to as Multigenerational (abr. Multigen) or Australian Labradoodles. Australian Labradoodles also differ from early generation and Multigenerational Labradoodles in that they may also have other breeds in their ancestry. English and American Cocker Spaniel/Poodle crosses (ie Cockapoos), Two Irish Water Spaniels and Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers have variously been used in some Australian Labradoodle lines. The Curly Coated Retriever were used too, but these lines did not work out and they were discontinued.

Labradoodle coats are generally divided into 3 categories: Wool (with tight curls, and similar in appearance to that of a Poodle, but with a softer texture); Fleece (soft and free-flowing, with a kinked or wavy appearance); or Hair (which can be curly, straight or wavy, but is more similar in texture to a Labrador's coat). Labradoodles come in a wide variety of colours, including chocolate, cafe, parchment, cream, gold, apricot, red, black, silver, chalk, and parti colours. They also can be different sizes, depending on the size of poodle (i.e. toy, miniature or standard) used.

Although most Labradoodles are healthy, they can suffer from certain problems common to their parent breeds.

Both Poodles and Labrador Retrievers can suffer from hip dysplasia, and should have specialist radiography to check for this problem before breeding. The parent breeds can also suffer from a number of eye disorders, and an examination by a qualified veterinary eye specialist should be performed.

Over the past couple of years, a number of Multigenerational Labradoodles have also been found to suffer from Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), an inherited disease that causes blindness, which occurs in both Miniature Poodles and Cocker Spaniels. It is strongly recommended that Multigenerational Labradoodles be DNA tested for PRA before being bred.

A new touchscreen phone from Palm that takes aim at the Apple iPhone and the Rim BlackBerry was unveiled today by Palm.

The manufacturer of the Treo and Centro said the Palm Pre will be available exclusively through Sprint. The phone is expected to be available this spring.

The Pre was unveiled today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

With a slide-out keyboard, the Palm Pre has 8 gigabytes of on-phone storage and works with a new operating system dubbed Web OS. It will be able to access Sprint's high-speed network, or Wi-Fi networks.

North Carolina’s unemployment rate is highest in 25 years

North Carolina’s unemployment rate increased to 7.9 percent in November, according to statistics released today by the Employment Security Commission. The unemployment rate is the highest since October 1983.

North Carolina’s unemployment rate has climbed steadily since December 2007, when the rate was 4.7 percent. Rockingham County’s unemployment rate has remained slightly higher than the state unemployment rate. In October, Rockingham County’s rate was 8.6 percent. The county unemployment rates for the month of November will be released on Jan. 6.

“Global and economic challenges have had an impact on North Carolina,” said ESC Chairman Harry E. Payne Jr. “Many employers are faced with layoffs or cutting back hours. Several job hours, including manufacturing and professional and business services, have been affected by the national business climate. During the last year, employment in these sectors alone is down by 57,600.”

Rockingham County has taken a big hit in manufacturing during the past year. Hanesbrands, Inc. in Eden announced plans to close its yarn and knit-fabric textile plants. The yarn plant will close at the end of the year and the adjacent knit-fabric plant will close in February 2009. The plant closures will leave 720 people out of work. In November, General Tobacco Company announced it would cut 31 jobs from its Mayodan plant. Other manufacturing companies have announced cut-backs and layoffs.
