Last week, English FA is launching Kick It Out's One Game, One Community campaign. Much of the highlight was focused on Patrice Evra's claim that Luis Suarez uttered racism remarks towards him during Man Utd's match against us the week before. Everybody saw how suarez tormented United's defence that day and Evra had the worse end of the stick. It is sad when someone says bad things about another person and even worse if it is racial in context. Evra's accusation is something that needs to be looked into and King Kenny's statement that he is looking forward to a complete, transparent report from the FA and will 100% co-operate with it is highly applauded. One is innocent until proven guilty.

We have to kick racism from this beautiful game and our great club has always a supporter of this effort. God has created us equal and what makes us different is our attitude. I believe that our fans does not see colour as an issue. Whoever plays their heart out while wearing the sacred shirt will always be close to their heart no matter their skin colour..wheater he is white, black, brown, blue or even green. It is with great pride that our club's motto is You'll Never Walk Alone.. We have gone through a lot.. Hillsborough, Heysel to name a few where every single fan who watch the tragedy feels for the victims and their family. Let us reach out to every single person in this world and tell them that You will never walk alone.

THE FIRST REAL TEST

We came out for our first real test of the season with flying colours. Although we did not won the game, but the manner in which we took the game to United was awesome. Steven Gerrard was included for the match and by looking at the line up, clearly SAF set up the team to play defensively. Rooney was probably left out to protect him but he eventually introduced in the second half after they were a goal down. Our players looked composed except for Lucas who was probably still jet lagged. He was a bit slow and his usual neat passing was absent. Evra and gang was left fuming after the abuse made by our Super Suarez which afterward complained to the official that Suarez racially abused him. A load of crap. De Gea was on song with some superb saves to deny Kuyt, Suarez and Handerson. Hernandez again provide the spoils with the equalizer. I was disapointed with the draw but happy with the performance. Things are looking bright and hopefully we can build on this performance to challenge for the top spot.

Fernando Torres

What more can i say about this guy. He was an idol during his stint with us and he did show a slump in form at the end of his stint. He did not show great form in his early days at Chelsea. I guess his injury affected his game. However he has shown great form this season. With AVB in charge at Chelsea and with new midfield set up there, i have a feeling that El Nino will strike again. I have a feeling that AVB knows how to bring the best out of Torres coz during the last two games, those through passes that he thrives upon is there. I know Torres misses Stevie G's assistance as Lampard play is a lot different from our talismatic captain's style. I guess that is why he says that Chelsea's players are old and slow. Mereiles and Juan Mata arrival at Chelsea should provide the ammunition that he requires. Even Torres was criticized for that awful miss, i believe that it will spur him to score loads of goals. All great strikers have made some blunder at one time. So cheers mate.

HERE WE GO AGAIN

The time has come, the moment that we have been waiting for (apart from Eidul Fitri that is), BPL is back. All the pre-season games and all the transfers done, they are now ready for battle. Liverpool have done fairly well in the transfer market, roping in Jordan Handerson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Alexander Doni and Jose Enrique. I've seen Charlie Adam play when they came to town and was quite impressed with him (actually i was more impressed with Aquilani). The pre-season games was mixed with wins in the far east and then a few losses against Hull and Gatalasaray but managed a draw against a Norwegian side before capping it with a win against Valencia.

With King Kenny at the helm, i am optimistic this time that we can make a serious challenge for the title. I know some pundits are already writing us off as also rans, but deep in my heart i can sense that this time it will be different. We are no more a one man team, depending on captain courageous Mr Steven Gerrard all the time. We have players now who can turn the game around like Aquilani, Luiz Suarez, Charlie Adam and Mereiles. I hope tonight's game will see us hit the ground running. Sunderland is no pushover though, they have made some terrific signings and could provide stiff challenge to us. However, we have quality and enough firepower to see them off. Okay then... cant wait for the game.. Walk on.. walk on.. with hope in your heart.. and you'll never walk alone..You'll Never Walk Alone..

Malaysia vs Singapore

Malam tadi sepatutnya memperlihatkan permainan yang bersungguh oleh Harimau Malaya. namun apa yang dipersembahkan merupakan satu permainan yang gugup oleh anak buah K Rajagopal. Kesilapan taktikal yang dicaturkan oleh K Rajagopal menjadikan permainan terlalu longgar. Pasukan Harimau Malaya terlalu banyak bermain secara long pass dan mengharapkan Safee Sali membuat sesuatu daripada hantaran tersebut. Ini mengundang padah kerana pertahanan pasuka Kota Singa itu dengan mudah mematahkan serangan pasukan Harimau Malaya.

Ketiadaan Syafiq Rahim sememangnya dirasai kerana beliau merupakan enjin kepada pasukan. Pada pengamatan saya, Amar Rohidan gagal mengambil alih tugas Syafig dengan baik. Ball distribution beliau tidak kemas menyebabkan hantaran-hantaran beliau selalu dipintas oleh pihak lawan. Kurangnya bermain melalui sayap kiri amat ketara kerana Kunalan terpaksa mengambil bola dari tengah dan bawah untuk memulakan pergerakkan. Permainan one-two antara pemain-pemain Harimau Malaya boleh dikatakan "non-existant" mungkin kerana terlalu bermain secara long ball.

Safee Sali kelihatan kecewa dengan support yang diperolehinya. Bila bola dihantar terus kepada beliau, boleh dikatakan 70% pasukan Kota SInga itu akan memenangi second ball. Barisan tengah Harimau Malaya agak lambat untuk naik ke atas bagi membantu beliau. Amirul Hadi juga kurang berkesan dan seolah-olah tidak berani untuk menewaskan Jumaat Jantan. Namun begitu, gol jaringan Safee merupakan gol yang datangnya dari short play yang mana sepatutnya di gunakan sepanjang permainan. Pujian harus diderikan kepada Kunalan yang bermain mengikut wisel dan membuat lorongan cantik kepada Safee.

Apa lagi yang perlu diceritakan mengenai pertahanan kita. Dalam 4 perlawanan yang melibatkan pasukan Harimau Malaya ini, dapat dilihat pertahanan kita amat longgar. 4 gol menentang Arsenal, 6 gol menentang Liverpool, 5 gol menentang SIngapura di Stadium Jalan Besar dan 1 malam tadi. Hanya kecekapan Khairul Fahmi menutup malu pertahanan kita. Syabas Apek, berani saya menyatakan bahawa beliau layak diberikan 5 bintang atas persembahan beliau malam tadi.

Namun apa pun, pasukan Harimau Malaya ini patut diberi sokongan kerana berjaya menaikkan semangat penyokong dan menaikkan martabat Harimau Malaya yang selama ini dibelenggu oleh masalah rasuah. Bagi para penyokong Harimau Malaya, janganlah kita mencaci kerana mereka telah bermain sebaik mungkin. Marilah kita mengambil iktibar daripada slogan pasukan Liverpool.. "You'll Never Walk Alone". Jangan kita biarkan pasukan Harimau Malaya dipinggirkan. Jatuh bangun mereka, kita tetap berada bersama-sama mereka..InsyaAllah.

WHEN LIVERPOOL CAME TO TOWN

It was a historical moment for me. Being an ardent fan of The Reds, seeing them play in front of me is a dream come true and its the next best thing than being in Anfield. When Liverpool Football Club announces that they are coming to Malaysia for the first time, my heart skipped a beat. I just couldn't believe it coz this would be their first time coming to our shores. Me and a few friends discussed about going to Bukit Jalil to watch the game and made tickets arrangement. A friend of mine got the tickets for us and off we go.

We arrived at Bukit Jalil at around 2.00 pm and the stadium has already packed. We hung around to soak the fanfare atmosphere, taking pictures and stuff. By 3.45 we decided to go into the stadium. Its already half full as we went in and search for the seat with the best possible view. As the stadium continues being filled by our fellow Kopites, the speakers suddenly played The Anthem.. It brings chills to my spine as we sang You'll Never Walk Alone. Suddenly i was at Anfield. I'm Living my dream...

By 4.15 we saw from the monitor that the bus carrying The Reds players has arrived.. This made the stadium go wild. A couple of minutes later, Jay Spearing, Daniel Agger, Charlie Adam, Danny Pacheco went on the pitch to a thunderous clap and we gave our best rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. We were eager to see them in action and what a show it was.. 9 goals.. Hats off to Malaysia for giving Liverpool a fight. Harimau Malaya played well and deserve a pat on the back. Liverpool played 2 different teams in each half. The first half team played possession foorball and neat one-twos. Got a penalty and WHAT A GOAL by Shafiq Rahim. It was a gem.. The second team was more attack oriented with Kuyt, Aquaman and Jonjo bossing the midfield. 2 goals each from Ngog, Maxi and Shafiee. Being a fan for both teams (Liverpool and Harimau Malaya) it was truly a satisfying trip. To Liverpool FC, PLEASE COME AGAIN... and to Harimau Malaya.. YOU GUYS ROCK.. Thank you liverpool fc, and to my friends especially Rizal, Issma, Qisti.. thanks guys..

What a performance.. Who would have guessed that we could play like that? A superb display of pass and run. Suarez again was phenomenal terrorizing birmingham's defence with his trickery. Kuyt was at his usual self. Always running.. so too was Lucas.. What a player he has turned out to be. Flanno was cool..and so was Robinson. Wish we could have played like this from the beginning of the season.

REVIVAL

Its been a while since i wrote anything.. much has change in our line up.. Torres and Babel has gone replaced by Suarez and Carrol and whats important is that The King is back.. Not Elvis you MORONS.. its King Kenny.. the iconic player and manager.. The only liverpool player who has achieve that.. a League winner as a player and manager not only at Liverpool but also at Blackburn.

Ever since his return, we have achieve remarkable results. Wins over Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City and the latest a draw against all odds at the Emirates. Whats more interesting is that the draw against Gunners was achieved with a very youthful back four (apart from Kyrgiakos). At right back is an 18 year old Flanno and leftback is a 17 year old Robinson. They really played their heart out and thats what u get from a local lad. I guess the pride of playing for your home team was something out of this world for the lads.

Anyway i was left kicking myself after the game coz I MISSED THE BLOODY EQUALIZERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I turn off the TV in frustration after RVP scored the penalty and went to bed ...how stupid i am... Had i known that just a couple of minutes after that we scored, i could have stayed on. Well i'm not gonna do that again..yessireee.. Great stuff by Lucas, Spearing (although he was at fault for giving away a penalty), Kuyt, Reina and the rest of the team.

Before the game, there was a minute of silence to commemerate the Hillsborough tragedy where 96 liverpool fans died and also to respect the passing of Danny Fizman, an Arsenal Director. I can still remember the Hillsborough tragedy.. and it happens after the incident during the European Cup Final in Heysel.. it was very sad.. My heart goes to the families of the victims.. For them, You Will Never Walk Alone..

A Huge Win

Torres is back.. That should be the headline for the newsmen. A brace against arch rival Chelasea proves a point that he is back to his best. I can see the fire and enthusiasm back in his eyes. I didn't rate much before the game for us to beat chelsea but after a few minutes i can sense that we could hurt them if we keep it tight at the back. Benching Drogba was a huge mistake by Ancheloti looking at the way he tormented our defense in the second half. Reina..what can i say about him. Two match winning saves. One from drogba i think the other was from salamon kalou (i think). Lucas was superb too, bossing Malouda until he could not play his game , going for every ball. He has really stepped up his game this season proving his critics wrong. Gerrard was everywhere... making those passes and running up and down... With Kuyt back, we are more a settled team. His tireless running was sorely missed in the previous games. I'm glad that we won. We are still in the race.

2 Wins on the Trot

We are now away from the relegation zone..Pheww.. However it was still a hard fought match..both of em. Again we only played better in the 2nd half. Torres still look a bit short in confidence. Against Bolton , his touches was still a bit off but he made the right touch when it matters most. It was a sublime back heel pass to Maxi and tribute to Maxi for his supern toe poke shot passed the unlucky keeper.

Another thing which came to my mind after reading a thread in LFC's website is during the Bolton game, the defenders applied the zonal marking system in contrast to man to man marking which Hodgson prefers. Whose instruction was it i suppose? Someone from the thread said it coud be Gerrard's or Sammy Lee's instruction but anyway it worked against Bolton. Davies was tightly guarded and Kyrgiakos and co did a great job marking him. Next game..Chelsea.. my oh my.. what a tough test. I don't know how Hodgson gonna set his team up. Maybe pairing Ngog and Torres up front with Gerrard back in the middle? Hopefully so..

Why do i have this feeling that Roy Hodgson is gonna be sacked soon? Watching the team play nowadays is just kills me. No passion at all, lack of commitment and drive. No leader too.. Gerrard seems to drifts and sometimes look lost in midfield. Is this the Benitez hangover? Sometime during a match i would think what would Rafa do is these kind of situation..who would he bring on and what tactical change would he do. I'm not saying Roy is lousy but i just don't think he's up to the job.

The beloved Bung Mokhtar, backbencher's club deputy chairman says Proton should be wound up because the carmakes has embarrased the country by trying to pass off a rebadged Mitsubishi lancer as the Proton Inspira.. My dear Dato.. could u please SHUT UP.. This guy is a joke actually. If he says Proton should be closed down for that reason, then Perodua should also be closed down la.. One more thing Dato' if you don't know how a business work, just sut your mouth. Proton is doing all their best to make itself profitable. Why spend money on R&D for a new model when they still trying to stay afloat? They RM 700 million that is needed for R&D (to produce a new model) could be spent on something else. What a Shame

I just can't believe it when we lost to Blackpool yesterday. We are now officially 3rd from the bottom and in the RELEGATION ZONE. This is a disgrace. We need another striker ASAP. We lost Torres and lost the game coz we basically don't have another notable striker.For all the possession we had, we can't convert it into goals. I just don't think hodgson is the right manager for the club. People were slating Benitez for last season's poor start but this season's is ridiculous. Give him a few more games and if lost again especially to Everton, just sack him and bring on Daglish.

The Loss

It was a game of two halves. The first half shows the pathetic side of Liverpool with no imagination or aggression whatsoever to attack Man Utd's goal. They pass the ball but for what? To give back the possession to Man Utd's player or to pass back to defenders. I dont understand it at all. I do not know what Maxi Rodriguez is doing in the team. He should be running at the defenders, trying to make crosses or something, but he only pass the ball sideways or to the back. The same goes to Joe Cole. Manchester played well and deserves the goal. I blame Konchesky for the goal. What was he doing? He was on the goal line and should be guarding the right post.. yet he was nowhere there..

See? he was guarding Pepe's ass.. stupid!!!!! However their second goal was magic. I dont think Pepe or even Schmeichel in his prime could do anything about it.

The second half showed a different team. We attack, we fought for the ball. The commentators was saying Torres has not contributing at all, but did he proved them wrong. A clever turn and forced Jonny Evans to make a tackle and concedes a penalty which Gerrard duly scored. Another attack saw Torres attacking the ball and John O'Shea manhandled him to the ground. Mr Fergusson says Torres is a cheat, trying to send him off. We sir, he should be off for that foul regardless of what u think. Howard Webb was generous enough to give him just a yellow card. Gerrard's free kick was brilliant. Meireles i think who bumped into Fletcher which forced him to move and gave room for Gerrard to aim and scored. I was screaming at that point and when Gerrard ran to the corner i knew that he was calling the cameraman to come near and kiss the camera ala 2008's game. However it was Berba's day. We should have defended more and stop the crosses coming in. Carra was no match for Berba..maybe Kyrgiakos could have done better. Anyway, there was some hope in the team, at least if the 2nd half performance can be repeated in all games. That is what i hope for this season. YNWA

Another trip to the Hospital

In February my youngest daughter was admitted to Kuantan Medical Centre for appendicitis. On Saturday, her elder sister was admitted to the same hospital for appendicitis too. Although she didn't have a high fever like her sister, but her abdominal pain was much severe. At fist we went to see a GP to check on her diarrhoea,but the GP suspected something else and referred us to the hospital. She was warded at 12.15 am and after the blood test confirmed the problem, was operated at 1.00 pm by Dr Lee. Now both of my daughters have gone under the knife for appendicitis.

1st League Win

At last we got our win.. eventho it was a 1-0. West Brom did cause a lot of trouble in the 1st half. We didn't control the game and they did challenge for every ball and made our midfield a bit rattled. However, i seen enough of our new guy Poulsen to say that he is going to be a great signing for us. He showed some neat touches and great vision. Even Lucas played good last night. The second half showed how neat our game is. The goal was superbly created by Reina and some neat touches by Kuyt and Torres and what a goal from El-Nino. I just hope he can stay fit for the rest of the season..

LOST TO MAN CITY

So Liverpool lost to the Citizen.. In my opinion we lost not because we were worse than them but simply because we used the wrong formation and tactics. By playing a 4-4-2 system against them, exposed our midfielders to them. The refusal of Mascherano to play was a setback but Hodgson could still use Kuyt-Lucas-Poulsen-Jovanovich with Gerrard playing just before Torres/Ngog as the lone striker. By playing 5 in midfield we could have cut off their possession and stop them from playing. We were totally outplayed that day. The good news is that its only our 2nd game..there is still a long way to go.. YNWA

KILLING OR NURTURING TALENT?

Mezut Ozil is on the way to Real Madrid.. Who doesnt want to go there? Barca, Madrid, they are one of the best teams in the world. But buying these talents while they have lots of other great talent in their team? Does it help the player by not playing week in week out? Its not the same doing your best in training but not playing in the actual game. I think it is killing the talent. Man City is an example, they have an amazing list of talent in their squad. Robinho, Santa Cruz, Tevez, wright Phillips, Ireland etc. What will happen to them? they cant show their talent and by not palying, how can they shake off any type of form they're in? hmm....

After all the opening game been played of the new BPL season Chelsea now sits at the top of the standing thanks to their 6-0 drubbing of West Brom. It is still too early to judge as the season in long and things may change as the season goes to its full calendar. Man City with all its monies spent still cant get the better of Spurs. They had to thank Joe Hart for it for he saves their ass on a couple of times with some brilliant saves. It is business as usual for Man Utd and Chelsea but Arsenal and Liverpool played to a very entertaining draw at Anfield. Despite losing Joe Cole in the 1st half, i think Liverpool really showed character. Despite being a man down, they scored thru Ngog and could have scored a few more. It was entertaining as Arsenal piled on the pressure and Liverpool absorbes it until the blunder made by Mr Consistency Pepe Reina. This is the 1st time he made a blunder for quite sometime now. For a true pro like him, i bet he is kicking himself for letting that one in. I'm sure he's out to make ammends.

Watching Spurs play against Man City makes me thinking to myself what is Mancini doing buying all the stars? I cant see any pattern in their play and honestly..they didn't gel at all. Is this what they say too many cooks spoil the broth?

THE NEW BPL SEASON

Tomorrow starts the new BPL Season. The usual big four teams are now being seriously challenged by Man City and Spurs. Man City is the team to watch actually. With David Silva, Yaya Toure on board, they are certainly be the team to watch. Man Utd have acquired a real gem in Javier Hernandez. Arsenal too has strengthen its squad by buying wisely. Chamakh would be a good addition to the team. Liverpool on the other hand has scooped up Joe Cole. I think he could be the player Liverpool wants all these years. He reminds me of Daglish or Keegan. If he could perform 70% as good as Keegan and supply Torres with the ammunition, it could be an interesting year for them. Christian Poulsen could be handy too. With the impending departure or Mascherano, he might be able to fill the gap. Anyway, it would be a good match at Anfield this Sunday and you dont have to guess which team i'll be rooting for. :P

PHEWW

It is been almost 6 months since my last entry here. It is August now and today is the third day of Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah i have gone through Ramadhan without any problem and also my thyrotoxicosis is receding. By the way, in April to May, i was not feeling well as i was always trembling all over, fast heartbeat and sweaty. I thought it was due to fatigue or tiredness but my wife insists on seeing the specialist for his opinion. We went to see the Doctor and he says that there are three possible causes i.e heart problem, thyroid problem or severe panic disorder. I went for some test and the Doctor diagnosed me as suffering from Thyrotoxicosis. He gave me medicine for my thyroid to lower down my thyroid level in my blood and one for slowing down my heartbeat. After a month taking the medication, my thyroid level came down drastically and my heartbeat now was normal. However i still had to continue taking the medicine as it might happened again. Hopefully it will be back to my normal level without depending on the medication.

I've been quite busy these few months and had not the opportunity to update this blog. A lot of things happened during that period and recently my 6 year old daughter had to undergo a small operation to remove her appendix. It was a bit strange for a 6 year old kid to suffer appendicitis. She complained pain in her abdomen and we took her to the clinic. The Doctor gave her some medicine and inform us if the pain continues for a few more days, then we should bring her in again for further check up. after a couple of days she began having fever and we took her to the doctor again. After further check up, he referred her to the specialist and the specialist confirms that she's suffering from appendicitis. She was admitted to the OT at 7.00 pm and came out at around 8.15. Now she is fine and bouncing and running as usual. To Dr Lee of Kuantan Medical Centre and the nurses there, thank you very much.

WHAT HAPPENED?

I just cant put my finger into it but there is something really wrong in the way we play. Is Rafa at fault? They seems unable to really grip themselves on the field.. I mean literally, they can easily fell down to the ground. Is it the wrong choice of boots or studs used? Dirk Kuyt for instance, he can run all day but he cant turn with the ball without falling down or slipped.. This must be addressed by the coaching staff real soon or it will spell the end of our hope for 4th place.

I read today in Espnstar.com Lineker's comment about Aquilani being reds worst buy.. Is he insane? How can u judge someone whom you only see in bits and pieces? Rafa is doing the right thing to introduce him slowly to the pace and style of the English game to him. How can you expect him to perform after being injured for so long? He needs time.. Rafa doesnt wath to rush him in and injure him in the process. Lineker must be crazy for saying it.. Not that his opinion matter anyway...
