Our Life

Mark Twain

2012-08-08T08:51:00.000-07:00

April 4, 2012, I blogged about my bird photographs that I produced during my visit in Texas. I thought this would be my very last blog. But now I'm updating my blog....yay!!??

So it has been about 4 months since my last update. I've been busy. That would perhaps be a legit excuse. I hope so...but sometimes I wonder if anybody reads the craps that I posted here...hmmm

So anyway....

Latterly, I've been reading a lot. Because...

"A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read" - Mark Twain

This Twain's quote has inspired me to read, and I actually just finished reading one of his novels:

"The Adventure of Tom Sawyer"

Mark Twain

It was for my English class next Fall. I've to read a bunch of novels and short stories for my English classes.

Question: Why are you taking a lot of English classes Tilon?

Answer: Oh yes! did I mentioned that I'm doing English minor? There you go...now you know. Well that's for some of you who didn't know.

Moving on...

I have to say that Mark Twain was a great writer. This was my first Twain's novel and I fell in love with his work. Throughout my journey into the Twain's world, I stumbled upon to the memories of my own childhood. It was a great journey...about friendship, adventures, dreams and imaginations. Although this book was based on western kids and lifestyle, I can still relate to some of them. I guess kids have the same kind of imagination regardless of where they're from geographically. I wonder if children from the city could relate to this cause they don't have access to these places (river, forest, caves etc.) and they don't have as much freedom as Tom Sawyer and me (when I was young) had. Plus, City=dangerous, Rural=adventures (this is just another hasty generalization..sorry). That's an advantage of children who spent their childhood in the rural area. They can explore things...if you know what I mean.

Anyway, if you're free grab this book and read it, then only you will understand what I mean. This book will remind you (if you're an adult) of how you were in your childhood.

Mirror

2012-02-09T23:33:00.000-08:00

"Mirror on the wall

Here we are again

Through my rise and fall

You've been my only friend

You told me that they canunderstand

the man I am

So why are we here

Talking to each other again?"

Have you guys been there before?

If you asked me...

YES

I've been there before

The emotions that you get by listening to the song

and of course by listening carefully to the lyrics as well

it explained what I went through

back in the days...dark days I guess

I was lost but now I am found

Things happen

not only to me but I bet

to you guys as well

It was right after I graduated from High School

I felt hopeless and stuck

and nobody could understand me

I remember feeling lonely,

Stuck,

hopeless,

confused,

and

Angry

It was really painful

I was searching for something or somebody

whom I could talk to

or at least channel the pain away

Then I started talking to the mirror

*Literally*

I really felt that the mirror was the only one who could understand me

SADLY

~Sounds like a disorder~

I know

BUT

then AMY WINEHOUSE said to me

"I can't help you, if you can't help yourself"

Then I look at me

straight on my face and say

"I can't help you if you can't help yourself"

AMY WINEHOUSE saved me from my depression

for a few days only

That's all I remember I guess before I surrendered my life

to the LIGHT

"The Way, The Truth and the LIFE"

Then after that

"I LOVE MY LIFE"

because it is filled with love and grace

Yeah

Life good now

I'm not crazy anymore...

But this song!

~Mirror~

Reminded me of my dark and painful life

that I went through

It speaks to me

I kinda like it

even though it sounds depressing because it reminded me of those days

BUT

at the same time

It tells me how strong I am today

I grew up and I survived

Soli Deo Gloria

Oh! Darling

2012-02-04T19:51:00.000-08:00

I couldn’t concentrate on doing my homework just now so I grabbed my guitar and made a quick cover of The Beatles, Oh! Darling. This is one of my favorite songs by The Beatles. Deal with the imperfections when you’re listening. Adios. Soli Deo Gloria.

Writer Block

2012-01-22T22:02:00.001-08:00

I need to write a narrative paper. Personal Narrative paper but I can't think of anything. It has to be related to a community. I chose the Malaysian Community here at UNL cause I think my classmates would get interested! Maybe...hopefully...and most of all I just wanna get it DONE as soon as possible! I'm a BUSY man y'all (and I'm wasting my time posting this blog)

I got a new phone!

2012-01-20T23:06:00.001-08:00

I got an iPhone 4s and it's really cool and pricy...I know. But never mind I earned the cash by working in the lab. It's worth it I guess. It makes my life easier and somehow organized a little bit. Love it!

Caroling

2011-12-19T20:30:00.000-08:00

Last Sunday me and the NUMSA committee and some other people
went to Tabitha Hopital (Old Folks Hospital)

and we sang Christmas Carols!!

CAROLING!!

This was my very first time

singing Christmas Carols

to "someone who really need JOY in their life" (This is an assumption)

I had fun and BLESSED

There's this one old lady who won't smile when I say

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It was awkward

because I never been to this kind of situation before

but then one of my friend approached her and say

Merry Christmas

Then she smiled

with sad eyes

well at least she smiled...

Anyway

I really enjoyed doing this

and I'm looking forward on doing this kind of stuff

in the FUTURE!

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

NOW

Merry Christmas everybody!!

Talking to myself

2011-11-30T20:12:00.001-08:00

I don't know

BUT

I know that I am ready for it (hopefully)

what about you?

are you ready for it?

hmmmmmm.......

JUST say YES

you'll be fine

OK...YES!

I am ready for anything!

Over and over again

2011-11-17T18:34:00.001-08:00

Sitting on a bench on a sunny day

Listening to my summer tunes

You came into my mind

and

Put a smile in my heart

again

Like a falling leaf on an autumn day

Wondering in the air

Don't know where to fall

Nobody knows what tomorrow looks like

Why don't we explore the world

and enjoy the love in the air

Rolling my head in the sun

on a hot summer day

Walking hand in hand

Down to Abbey road

dancing in the rain

with your laughter that kept me warm

camp under the moonlight

waiting for the shooting stars

Let's fall in love again

over and over again

Here we go again!!

Temporary Home

2011-08-24T19:50:00.000-07:00

I'm Herlveron Sagulu and I approve this message!!

HAHA

The message of this song is wonderful

AND

True!!

This is HOW I see it

"...This is my temporary home..."

Earth is just a temporary home for me

cause my DADDY in Heaven tells me:

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

What is seen? - The World

What is unseen? - Heaven

Then the she decorated the song with 3 situations:

The 6 years old orphanage boy

The single mom

and the her grandpa

AWESOMENESS!!

Doesn't matter what's your religion or belief

as long as you believes that there are

HEAVEN and HELL

try to listen to this song from this angle

it'll gives you a great message

Blessed be

Hasta Luego

Can you afford friendship?

2011-08-20T20:51:00.000-07:00

My friend bought a tire for my bike (Punctured) for 8$

Then he made a joke

"plus 2$ Service Charge"

Then I said

NO (I'm not that kedekut =P...krek krek krek)

I don't know how he ended up saying 100$ charge for my friendship

then I replied in Manglish

"why so cheap one, mine is 10000000000000000000000000000000000$..can pay ah?"

That's actually true for me at least...I mean

for My friendship:

you guys can't buy it cause I'm pretty sure that nobody can afford it (but if you can feel free to purchase it, I'm happy to have that $$$$)

BUT

I can give it to you guys for free

all you guys have to do is

ASK!!!

*...ask and you shall receive...*

If nobody ask for it then

nobody gets it

isn't that interesting!!!

*I know right*

I do offer my friendship to everyone when I first met them

BUT

If they're not interested

then

that's it

Lock Stock and Barrel

Nobody can buy friendship but you can seek it, earn it, ask for it, pray for it...etc

you just can't BUY it

that's my point

something to ponder huh?

Enjoy your time on Earth

Hasta Luego!!

It's interesting that PEOPLE

have different character and personality

and their characters and personality are very

DEPENDENT

on the type of community that they're in

Just look at yourself

HOW

do you treat/act/react/talk/or "whatever it is that you do"

your FAMILY and FRIENDS

OR a stranger

NOT the same RIGHT!!

well at least this is real and true for me

AND

This is based on my own observation on HUMAN BEHAVIOR

*P/S I don't stalk*

WHY this things happen in our LIFE?

I made some assumptions *Just like all the scientists back in the days*

1. Your level of TRUST on people are not the same

2. The greater the level of TRUST, the greater the level of LOVE

3. PARANOID

4. SUSPICIOUSNESS

5. HISTORY or EXPERIENCES

affect us and the way we treat others

something to think about huh?

Short trip to McCook, Nebraska

It was really fun and I experienced a lot of stuff...

Optimus Prime's brothers and sisters

He's (Jim) making wood buckets just for fun but ended up shipping them all over the world and many movie makers ask him to make buckets and other things for their movie. Isn't that awesome!! p/s he wrote books about his buckets too!!

Birdhouse!!

Old guns Vs. Modern guns

This is a modern gun. Jim was teaching me how to hold it in the right way.

Jim said "well you don't have to shoot on the target..." then I pulled the trigger "ka-boom!!" then he said "...but you did" haha

That's me firing a shotgun/handgun? I'm not sure what do they call it lol...it's harder than I expected, I've got none out of 10 shots!

Looked like voodoo dolls but they're not. Those are Red Indian's dolls for the kids.

Old version of shotgun, they used gun powder and a bullets to shoot. It felt like playing firecrackers but you can kill someone with it.

He (Ethan) taught me how to pick the best corns

The gunman + carpenter (Jim) picking up sweet corns

Ladybug!!

Then we went to the county fair

Budgerigar

Sugar Glider!!

Funnel Cake

Rosey Bourke Parakeet

and...BABI!!! hahaha

Thanks for stopping by...

Happy Puasa to all my Muslim friends and sorry for the cute Babi Photo up there. Hope it don't ruin your appetite..haha
