Jeans are already hard enough for me, let alone adding an ever expanding baby bump to the equation. For 6 months Ive been able to get away with body con dresses (when I'm not in oversized nighties or mother Hubbard dresses), but this cooler weather + the energy I've got back now that I'm in my third trimester, means legs free for striding. I searched for maternity jeans online and stores I could find down the Peninsula way, but all were more shabby than chic = DIY

These are a pair of my old favourites that I whipped up. Converting them was a simple as overlocking the top of the pockets out (incl waistband) and stitching in some good quality elastic banding. et te voilà!

Instagram has been stealing the limelight more and more nowadays - the pic feed provides me with constant visual refreshment. Overlayed with fun filter apps there are so many available, but i'll take a second to plug my friends app - Instablend. My twin sister esp loves this app, so I thought I would share a couple of my images she has been playing around using this app, aswell as her handy photoshop skillz - most of you will recognise the base images from my first Spring collection

Finding out I'm carrying a girl was not only thrilling, but a real surprise. For 4 months we have been calling our bump 'him'- so convinced that a son was growing

I have 4 of the most beautiful nieces (& 4 nephews) which has given me years of practice designing and making mini Rada Priya Designs. Just a day after my 20 week scan, my creativity is running wild with ideas for my very own daughter

Pregnancy has, and is a constant adventure providing a sense of peace and purpose that I have never known before. It's a beautiful thing

A little post and pre show photo log of what my lovely twin sister wore to the L'Oreal Fashion Festival Red Carpet event. Most in her comfort wearing bohemian style clothing, I added a little chic with two pieces from my collection - the silk top is from the Autumn Winter 2013 collection, and the palazzo pant is from the recent Spring Summer 12/13 collection. The rest of the styling is all her own - including the hair jewellery that she bought on one her many trips to India.

This year the L'Oeal Melbourne Fashion Festival Red Carpet event was all about the ethereal bride. Hosted by Harper's Bazaar Brides, the show was opened by my favourite Australian, Collette Dinnigan. Her signature exquisite lace and hand beaded gowns in youthful feminine silhouettes glided down the catwalk, the models concealed by delicate face veils. Akira followed, pleasantly surprising us with loosely fitted shapes that seemed to float around the body.

Gwendolynne, the only designer to specialise soley in the Bridal field, delivered what the bride-to-be's in the audience came to see - the crowd erupted with coo's of admiration, and the gasps and murmurs of delight and the applause did not cease through Rachel Gilbert or Aurelio Costarella, until the final gown by Toni Maticevski, with its veil the length of the runway and needing 3 groomsmen to assist - I, along with with everyone else was left speechless. A triumph of inspiration

A little bit shagadelic, a touch of chic and a whole lotta 80's - Famous for Fashion Chapel st runway was not just eye popping, but purely entertaining

We shot the entire L'Oreal fashion event using the new Samsung Galaxy camera, edit and all - including the upload and post to the blog. If you follow me on instagram, twitter or Facebook, the instant upload from runway to media on the HD super clear screen is very smooth

Sex and the City marathon! What a better way to kick of this years L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival than a complimentary night out with the girls - Sex and the City style!

Chadstone The Fashion Capital, is currently holding the incredible New York Style exhibition featuring our favourite gowns the 4 SATC stars wore in the first movie. The exhibition was curated by the great Patricia Field herself. We were treated to cupcakes and champagne, and an exclusive screening of the extended version of Sex and the City, the movie.

I fit my growing baby bump into this bright green jersey dress from my upcoming AW13 collection (coming very soon!)

Happy Autumn! What a summer it has been - although half of it was spent in the wintery Italy, the last month has been simply beautiful down on the Mornington Peninsula - not to mention the excitement of expecting a baby!

Before I welcome my new collection, I had to show the final look from my Spring Summer collection. You might already recognise - I wore this Banksia ensemble to MSFW Runway 2 show late last year. Modelling for my model. You might remember the face of my most recent Spring Summer Lookbook - the lovely Samantha - when the roles were reversed, and she asked me to pose for her, I couldnt be more happy. The shoot was fun and relaxed, and her talents equal her natural ability on the other side of the camera. These are a few candids of the day, which I think represent beautifully the nature and intimacy of her style of working.

Shopping for bridal gown ideas at Anna Campbell in Brunswick - we got to meet Anna and try her latest collections. Big congratulations to my twin sister on her engagement, who has chosen me (naturally ;) to make her gown - Watch this space as the wedding plans progress

St Kilda Festival 2013 - What a spectacular day it turned out to be, not a rain drop in sight, a massive awesome crowd all day long, and The Cat Empire at Sunset. Thank you to all our friends that came along to support, and all the new friends we made during the day

Nothing like summer

The highlight of Summer has arrived again - The St Kilda Festival! The flagship event of the St Kilda Festival is Festival Sunday, where crowds of up to 400,000 flock to experience the best of Aussie bands, performers, plus workshops, events, carnival-style amusement and of course Market stalls!

Last year we showcased our Summer collection to great review, plus we were situated smack bang in the middle of hype facing the stage, so it was all play, party central.

We have the same spot again this year, and although the bureau tells us there is a 40% chance of some morning rain, we are excited! The line up at our stage in Alfred Square includes Mojo Juju, Kutcha Edwards, plus main stage across the street has the Juggernaut DJ's, Pez and The Cat Empire!

We will of course be showing off the newest collection, plus heaps of our favourite Jewels and accessories collected over the last year

There is nothing in our summer quite like - we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!! (10am - 9pm)

Dusk in the Byron Hinterland brought out a kind of gritty glow in pictures, from beach and bikini, we changed into crumpled summer dresses, the heat of the summer day brewing into a stormy evening thunderstorm. The Pass

... even that the clouds were low and grey, and the wind blew a gale, the ocean was warm and welcoming for our brief visit to our home beach of Byron Bay. My twin sister has fallen in love with a local label there called Arnhem, and I can see the attraction. I'm wearing one of their kimonos, a simple and very beautiful versatile piece, light enough to protect my fair skin from those deceiving UV rays. ASOS is having a pretty amazing sale at the moment, and this bikini arrived just in time for the trip - and worn everyday since (beaches, pool, creek, canal, and even in the bathtub with my niece!)

This outfit is the closet to an 'evening look' as part of my Spring/Summer collection - I, myself have gotten alot of wear out of this particular look, especially in cooler evenings, the black velvet skirt is warm, high waist and covers the knee. The silk shell in this pattern has been so versatile, and pure silk has ergonomic qualities for all seasons

Summer Pavilion

I cannot begin to explain how lovely it is to arrive back into the thick of an Australian summer. Melbourne is showing off, but the Mornington Peninsula is where all the action is... still we were able to find an uncrowded beach by the McCrae Pavilion for a dip in the bay and a long lunch

I have decided to relocate down here, business and all. So after my Byron Bay trip next week, this will be my new residence, and I couldnt be happier to be back near the beach

Florence is not only home to some of worlds greatest fashion houses, it boasts their respective priceless archives and museums. This night, by the quiet full moon, I got the Gucci Museum almost all to myself. Set over 3 levels, I took my time taking in all the history, craftsmanship and distinction Gucci has become so iconic for. And at the end, in their bookshop slash cafe, enjoying a coffee over the abundant collection of fashion publications, made it one of my favourite days in Florence this winter.

POLIMODA

Impressed by what I saw at the orientation day of Polimoda school of Fashion, Florence, last week, I decided it would be worth attending the final presentations of students graduating with Masters degree's in Trend Forecasting. With high expectations, I was still surprised with the quality of work produced by the students, who hail from all corners of the globe. Over 4 hours we saw bodies of work that varied far beyond the limits of contemporary fashion, venturing from the culinary kitchen to outer space, from physical body manipulation to questions of our souls. It was clear that an education at Polimoda could add another dimension to my skill set, and if all the chips fall right, I'm convinced to attend there in the new year.

Fixed by each individuals take on Trend Forecasting, I managed to capture only the few images you see below.

The presentation by the this student was striking and confronting, with a naked woman painted white, while moving images projected onto her body and screen. The final frame (not seen) outlined a silhouette of a modern asymmetric dress, the pattern almost lace like - very clever use of technology

This student presented a supersized image of Florence and asked the teachers/audience to write what they wish the city was (the image is not very clear, so I added the text of examples of what people wrote - mine was Cleaner & more Open)
