My Kidz Got Style Launches It's New Charity, My Baby Needs Clothes

The Holidays are here, and as a result of the faltering economy, I have decided to expand my charity. I'm not asking for donations here. I don't have millions, but what I do have, is the ability to help a few infant and children that live in poverty. God has blessed me in many ways. One of the ways I can pay him back, is by paying my community back.

I own an infant and children online store. Three years ago I started donating gently used clothing to families within my community. I have also donated to a few community organizations with the stipulation that they could not charge these families. But I want to do more. This is where you can help.

Wow, where has the time gone? This has been a busy year for My Kidz Got Style. I've really missed my log friends, but now I'm back.

We are coming up on one of my most favorite times of the year, Halloween. And, at My Kidz Got Style, we are ready to help you get those little ghosts and goblins ready for their big adventure. I just thought I would share some of our most popular costumes with you.

The Le Top Halloween costumes are loved by all. Halloween Safety

The spookiest night of the year is around the corner. Kids everywhere are choosing their favorite costume and looking forward to their favorite treats. As parents and caregivers prepare for this celebration, we at My Kidz Got Style would like to provide a few safety tips to keep in mind, so that no child is haunted by Halloween-related injuries. Hidden dangers associated with costumes, treats, and decorations can be easily prevented.

Please follow these safety tips to ensure this year's holiday is a safe one:

When purchasing costumes, masks, beards and wigs, look for flame-resistantfabrics such as nylon or polyester, or look for the label "Flame Resistant."Flame-resistant fabrics will resist burning and should extinguish quickly. To minimize the risk of contact with candles and other fire sources, avoidcostumes made with flimsy materials and outfits with big, baggy sleeves orbillowing skirts.

Purchase or make costumes that are light, bright and clearly visible to motorists.

For greater visibility during dusk and darkness, decorate or trim costumes withreflective tape that will glow in the beam of a car's headlights. Bags or sacksalso should be light-colored or decorated with reflective tape. Reflective tape is usually available in hardware, bicycle and sporting goods stores.

Children should carry flashlights to see and be seen.

Children should wear well-fitting, sturdy shoes. Oversized high heels are not agood idea.

Tie hats and scarves securely to prevent them from slipping over children's eyes and obstructing vision.

If your child wears a mask, make sure it fits securely, provides adequate ventilation, and has eye holes large enough to allow full vision.

Swords, knives and similar costume accessories should be made of soft, flexible materials.

Supervise pumpkin carvings to avoid lacerations.

Warn children not to eat any treats until an adult has examined them carefully for evidence of tampering.

Carefully examine any toys or novelty items received by trick-or-treaters underthree years of age. Do not allow young children to have any items that are small enough to present a choking hazard or that have small parts or componentsthat could separate during use and present a choking hazard.

Keep candles and Jack O' Lanterns away from landings and doorsteps where costumes could brush against the flame.

Indoors, keep candles and Jack O' Lanterns away from curtains, decorations and other combustibles that could catch fire.

Do not leave burning candles unattended.

Remove obstacles from lawns, steps and porches when expecting trick-or-treaters.

Indoors or outside, use only lights that have been tested for safety by arecognized testing laboratory, such as UL. Check each set of lights, new or old, for broken or cracked sockets, frayed or bare wires, or loose connections. Discard damaged sets.

Don't overload extension cords.

My the time has gone by fast. Yet another year has passed, and it's close to the time for visits from our favorite little ghosts and goblins. So, to help you and your little one get prepared, here are a few costumes that I found to be just too adorable.

Okay, by now you should know how picky I am when it comes to quality merchandise. I have come across two manufacturers that produce simply exquisite work. Interestingly enough, each manufacturer has been around for quite sometime -- which should speak to their reputations. Brighton Pavillion designs and produces Jane Keltner hand painted furniture. Each piece is custom designed to each clients wants and desires. Not only can you select several decorative motifs for your furniture, you can also make-up your own colors. The children's collection includes step stools, cribs, toddler beds, dresser/changing table, table and chairs, and chairs. This is truly heirloom quality at its best.

La Petite Maison specializes in luxury hand constructed playhouses for children. Each house is built tall enough cor adults to fit. What I love about these replica playhouses is the intricate attention to detail. Each "cottage" includes a dining room living room area, working lights, and kitchen. Innovations Toys brings a new light to board games

Innovations Toys introduces a whole new concept to board games. Khet the game that combines lasers with classic strategy. Players alternate turns moving Egyptian-themed pieces having two, one or no mirrored surfaces. All four types of pieces (pharaoh, obelisk, pyramid and djed column) can either move one square forward, back, left, right, or diagonal, or can stay in the same square and rotate by a quarter twist. Each turn ends by firing one of the lasers built into the board. The laser beam bounces from mirror to mirror; if the beam strikes a non-mirrored surface on any piece, it is immediately removed from play. Here's a brand new jogger system from Baby Bling Design Company that I wish was around when my children were younger. It's the rave of such celebrities as Julia Roberts, Tiger and Elin Woods, and Nancy O'Dell.

The Baby Bling Design Metamorphosis ATS has many special features. They have made the stroller slightly larger with a full-size hood to allow the child to grow into the unit rather than out of it. The 4-position seating section reclines completely flat for better sleeping and to be used as a changing table(just think, no more searching for a bathroom to change your baby's diapers). The seat and hood sections are removable from the chassis to allow your child to face you as an infant and reverse the parts back as they grow. The back of the hood zips off and a mesh screen remains allowing free-flowing air for your child. Baby Bling has added “loops” for attaching toys on the inside of the hood. The trim of the stroller has reflective piping for nighttime safety. The front wheel swivel lock is positioned on the left side of the handle allowing the user to lock the front wheel on awhim. They have added lots of storage space and made the fabrics removable from the chassis for washing, or interchanging with other fabric combinations that they offer as Upgrade Kits and much more.
