THE LOOK

As GoJane’s lead MUA, I like to switch it up sometimes, even applying a hint of vintage with our Modern style. I was inspired with the 60's hues and tones for this look book, I partnered up with Cargo Cosmetics for this inspired look. Since the nights are getting colder and longer I decided to switch it up just a tad with some cooler hues with our edge mixed in for a more interesting day out or night out.

THE PRODUCTS

Powder: Cargo’s blu_ray Pressed Powder Eyeshadows: Cargo’s Pasadena Eyeshadow Duo, Make-Up Forever 101 Eyeliner: Tarte’s creme-based liner EmPhaseyes in black Blush: Cargo’s Cheek Activator Lips: Cargo’s Reverse Lip Liner, Lorac’s Lip Gloss in Butterscotch c/o Cargo Cosmetics

THE FACE

Prep the face with a moisturizer & primer.
Step 1:Using a round tapered dome brush i generously applied cargo blu ray pressed powder(link) all over the face as your base or what ever suits you best for example: Your choice of Foundation
Step 2: Apply in a circular motion, brushing the product upwards for an even finish.
Tip: Powder to Foundation Base is great for oily skin specially during hot days.

THE EYESHADOWS

Step 1: Apply a lighter shade of shadow. I used Make-up Forever 101, from the lash line all the way to the brow bone using a round dome brush.
Tip: The lighter color is a great way to highlight the brows.
Step 2: Apply the light blue shimmer from the Cargo Pasadena Eyeshadow Duo with a flat round brush; from the inner tear-duct of the eye lid up to the crease blending it out to the outer corner of the lash line in an angle.

Step 3: Apply a darker shadow from the outer corner, blending it up to the crease, using a small tapered brush or a smudger.
Step 4: Line the bottom of the lash line using that same darker shadow, with a flat liner brush for a more dramatic look.

THE EYELINER & MASCARA

Step 1: Using a cream base liner by tarte in black or any liner you feel comfortable with, I created a cat eye using a liner brush from the outer corner in a 45° angle bringing it in all the way to the tearduct.
Tip: I like to start from the outer corner of the lash line at an angle, to make sure my cat eye is even.
Step 2: Apply a generous amount of mascara from the roots of the lash line all the way to the tips.
Tip: Applying from the roots of the lash, ensures a bolder/fuller look.

THE CHEEKS

Step 1: Apply the cream base Cheek activator (link) by Cargo from the apples of the cheek blending in an angle with a duo fiber brush.
Tip: If you don’t have a duo-fiber brush, apply the cream on the back of your hands and with your finger, dot it along the apples of the cheek; then blend with your fingers

THE LIPS

Step 1: Line the lips with a reverse lip liner, I used Cargo's Reverse Lip Liner all along the natural lines of the lips.
Step 2: Use a lip brush to smooth out the liner.
Tip: The reverse lip liner by cargo helps create a bare more natural canvas for the lips, this also helps the lipstick or lip-gloss stay in place. Specially if you like to wear red lipsticks

Step 3: Apply a natural shimmer gloss around the lips. I used Loracs butterscotch but any shimmer with a hint of color will do.
Tip: Use lipstick if you prefer. I used gloss for a hint of shine and for a fuller lip.

We all want to know how a look is assembled. Specially when it comes to beauty right? Well I have a great solution for you ladies. With the help of my friends at TarteCosmetics, I went ahead and picked out some of my favorite products for this behind the scene look for Gojane’s look book. Not only am I sharing my favorite products, I will tell you why I handpicked these make up goodies for these how to looks! Paring Make-up and clothes can sometimes be a hassle so I went ahead and put togther a look that you can wear with these awesome outfits from GoJane.

I am a fan of all things natural but as an artist Im constantly carrying varieties of make-up and one of them is Tarte. Having this product for my shoots at GoJane makes it so much easier when it comes to touch ups and slightly changing a look. I love the fact that I have choices when it come to "AU Natural." What I mean by this is products that provide great pigments,long last wear, versatility, and duality.- specially when the skin needs a boost . Let tartes cruelty free, skinvigorating products sweep your skin. I know they say don’t kiss and tell but I had to share this one. After all, we all like to use products that feed our skin and that will stay put for those long nights of dancing or in my case photoshoots.

How its done

CHEEKS

APPLICATION:

Step 1: Apply Park Avenue Princess on the cheeks blending it in an upward motion with a blush brush to help define the cheek bones.

Enhance: I like to spoil the skin with warmth, so for sun worshippers or you just want that touch of definition I chose tartes- Park Avenue Princess. This is a matte base Bronzer, best part about it is you can contour,use it as an all over glow, or if your on the go- just touch it up for that all day kissed look. Lets just say smearing is no option for this gal- Lets keep it water proof!!

Step 2: Apply Blissful lightly over the defined area starting from the apples of the cheeks

Step 3: Apply Glisten with the same method used on Step 2.

Tip: Using two types of blush colors will help bring dimension to your cheeks

Blush: I personally think blushes bring a look together beside brows of course, The Amazonian 12 hour blush gets the bride approval, on the go, or evening party girl. It stays on leaving the skin totally smooth. It’s a powder blush not cream blush so no smearing here. A little goes a long way so don’t go to crazy because it is a well pigmented blush. Add some color to those cheeks and let it stay. This is a great product to have I say a must have.

These are my Faves
Bronzer: Bronzers are always a trial and error for me. Since majority of bronzers I've came across with normally have shimmer, I find that this product works perfect for the line of work I do. Its Matte and it does not streak. The powder itself is pretty compressed with a good amount of pigment. So a little goes a long way.

Blush: Im a sucker for blushes and this is something I would def have at all times. The color is true to the T and this will last for a long time. Its durable ( I dropped it on the floor by accident) The blush did not shatter which is a plus. I just love these. Ive been using them on my shoots and I give it an 8.

EYES

APPLICATION:

Eyes: I chose Tarte’s Beauty & the box – In the buff. This is from the Amazonian line. I call this quad my silky sand box. It comes in this sheek portable box with a sleek rose design- in it is 4 beautiful shades of shimmering sun kissed hues that will bring out the inner sun child in you.

Step 1: Apply Porcelain all over the eyelid starting from the brow line with a flat round brush

Step 2: Using Sunkissed with a round Dome brush- Apply it from the outer corner of the eye blending it all the way to the lash line.

Step 3: Using Tanline with a round Dome brush- Apply it from the corner of the eye blending up towards the crease line.

Step 4 Using Tanline with a flat liner brush- Directly apply on the the bottom lash line to add depth.

Tips: Shimmers are a great way to brighten up eyes specially when your on the go or just want a quick pick me up around the eyes!

LINER

APPLICATION:

Liner: Line it up with the Amazonian EmphasEyes Waterproof Liner – in black- Comes with dual liner and smudger:

Step 1 Using a liner brush or an angled liner brush (whatever makes you feel comfortable) Apply black from the inner corner of the eye sweeping it out in an angle. Tips: Liner is a great way to bring out the eyes, by lining it as close as possible to the lash line it will give your eyes the slight drama without overpowering the eyes. You can also switch it up by smudging and or lining the lash line line with a different hue in Blue! Just like the one you see here.

MASCARA

APPLICATION:

Mascara: Glam it up with lights camera lashes

Step 1 Apply a coat of Mascara starting from the root of the lashes sweeping it in an upward motion

Tips: Apply 2 coats while the mascara is still fresh will help create a more dramatic look.

LIPS

APPLICATION:

Lips: Sometimes its best to let the lips natural lustre show, but it doesn’t have to be dull. Depending on the look I’m going for shoots I like to have the lips look as raw as possible. I like to call this an all in one stick. It looks like a jumbo pencil. The best part is that theres no sharpener needed. Just incase you end up losing your sharpner or in my case misplaced in my kit somewhere you can always run to these just twist the know and viola. It has a great peppermint smell and it also moisturizes the lips and plumping it at the same time. This product is suppose to generate the cells on your lips. I guess you can say getting the blood flowing, which plumps the lips with out it being to obvious.

Step 1 Using the Jumbo Pencil in Hope- Apply it all around the lip line.

Step 2 Fill it in completely Starting from the center of the lip.

Step 3 Pout to smooth it out

Tips: For a less intense lip- just dab it all over the lip for a light tint.

I wanted to share with you all the images and video that the crew did for Model Beau Dunn, who has been featured on HBO's Entourage, NBC'c Up All Night, ABC's Melissa and Joey and numerous sketch sketches for Jimmy Kimmel Live. The shoot was shot at a private estate with full team of creatives. We did a total of 4 looks for the shoot. I hope you guys enjoy the images and the video.

Is almost been a 8 months since I've posted anything, a lot has gone on within the past 8 months. There has been many shoots that have passed and many pictures that I have yet to share with all of you. I will be updating my site with all of my shoots with in this month. Did I say Raina has Phenomenal skin?? Keeping her skin fresh was easy. I feel when a person has a great palette there is no point of covering the skin with gunk.

I toned her Face using an alcohol free toner to take off the excess amount of debris and oils

I then applied a moisturizing Primer on her skin, I don't think Ive said this enough but I hate dry skin. By prepping the skin helps the make-up to stay on.

It's all about the skin ladies!!!

Lets apply foundation!

I used a foundation that has peptides which helps the skin maintain its natural moisture. Plus there's no point of applying way too much foundation when the skin doesn't need it.

I concealed using a silicone base concealer to hide any discoloration under the eyes.

Using a small concealer brush I applied it gently under the eyes in an upward motion.

Brows:

I then went over Raina's brows lightly with a brow powder to add definition and Brushed it up up up :)

Shooting Reality TV stars for Kasanova Magazine

I recently did a photoshoot for Kasanova magazine for some of the Reality stars of CBS. The shoot took place in old town tamaecula and one of the Ranches in De Portola Tamecula. It was such a wonderful experience working with Bridgetta,Rachele,Kristen,Jill, and Kelly. The point of the shoot was to raise money for cancer awareness. This issue comes out in May so make sure to pick one up. The girls got sponsored by BearPaw Shoes for the shoot, the boots were beautiful and I really wanted a pair. I might just go buy one of the style of boots for the shoot. Hanging out and working with the girls was a great experience, besides they made the shoot so fun, easy and I felt like I've known them for so long. Plus my mom watches all the series of the shows. This was definitely one of the best experiences I've had this past week. Just wanted to share it with all of you.

L U C I M A's Las Vegas Estate Fashion/Editorial Workshop

-April 16th-17th (Saturday and Sunday)

-15 photographers (max)

-2 to 3 photographers per 1 agency-represented model (probably 4 to 5 models depending on # photographers).

-Fully-styled.

-In one of the most ridiculously luxurious estates you've ever seen. Fountains. Pool. Towering cathedral-styled ceilings. Private gated-community. Fully furnished. 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The pictures speak for themselves

-We'll be taking advantage of the ambient lighting indoors and outdoors and creating different lighting sets for each of the unique styled looks. We'll explore the nuances of putting together a fashion/editorial shoot in a thematic location such as this estate. I'll set a full agenda for each day that includes lots of shooting.

-9AM-5PM on each day. Lunch is provided. And since we have the location for 3 days I'm sure we'll hang out a little after each day of the workshop

-With the different styled looks and models, I think a photographer can build his/her entire book during the 2-day workshop. Considering typical model, studio, MUA costs, stylist costs for such a production, I think the cost is well justified

FAQ:

Q: How far is the estate from the airport?
A: About 6-7 miles

Q: What should I bring?
A: The usual! Assorted portrait lenses, camera body, lightmeter, triggers (if you have them but we'll have plenty), lots of SD/CF cards (you'll be doing tons of shooting), and something to take notes on (a laptop might be useful so you can dump cards onto the computer!).

Q: How much does a cab cost?
A: About $20 from the airport but it really depends on where you're staying. I suggest renting a car since it's much more cost-effective and parking at the estate is not an issue!

Q: What if I don't have a lightmeter?
A: While it's not absolutely imperative that you have/bring a lightmeter (you can use the in-camera lightmeter), fashion/editorial often requires that you balance ambient light. The lightmeter allows you to quickly meter a certain ISO, aperture, shutter for any condition. In my work, I often need to drop ambient 1-2 stops to allow my subject to stand out with the help of strobes. The lightmeter allows me to meter angularly different sides of my subjects face and determine how much flash I need to either fill or overpower ambient (as main light). When I get to the camera, I then don't have to take as many test shots chimping to the proper balanced exposure.

This is one of the most critical components of working on-location for fashion/editorial work. Of course having the concept/storyboarding/feeling is first and foremost to determining your settings

Q: Will we be shooting nudies?
A: Nope. There are great workshops for that kind of thing but our focus for this location will be shooting fashion/editorial fully-styled

A: So far it's Anneliese from NEXT and Brett from Zuri. I'll update as we go along!

When I first seen Lucy walk in the door. The first thing I noticed was her the shape of her face. She has beautiful skin and really fine hair. I loved her brows :) it totally stood out, I made sure to keep the focus on her face with the make-up since she naturally has defined cheek bones and beautiful eyes. Since Lucy has fine hair, I made sure that I kept body to frame her face.

February Make-up Haul

This Month's Make-Up Haul

These past few weeks I've been shopping for make-up like a crazy woman. I had to throw some oldies and get some newbies. I guess I went "MAD" lol. Not really just wanted to get some new stuff for my kit and myself. Got some hair products,Face products,eyeshadows,Lipsticks,liner or liners. I decided to put it all together since its was a lot of stuff to individually post. Some I have used and some will be the first time using or trying. I will categorize them by face,lips, etc etc... This past week has been crazy and busy but that's always good. At the same time I still want to share the experience with all of you. Just as much as I enjoy watching everyones haul lol. XD

I bought this on sale. I've used there line before but not this specific styling product. My hair is super textured and I love wax but I don't like my hair to feel heavy. This is a wax based spray and I use this for my bangs and to texturize my hair. I apply this to dry hair and I go over with a flat brush. It adds texture with out the heaviness of the wax. LOVE IT.

Icon hair products

I got these Item's on sale. I would consider this a good bargain buy. The serum is super silky, it leaves the hair smooth. When I looked at the ingredient label. I always look for alcohol since majority of styling products have them. I try to avoid buying serums that have alcohol since I have processed hair and its red. Alcohol strips out color and I do my best to try and keep my hair red unless it's a color deposit. Since this has alcohol in it which most hair products do. I use this only when my hair is dry, it can be used damp but I just try and do my best to keep alcohol out.

I can never buy enough of this. I love using and trying out different products for texture.

Eyeliner

Just needed some Gel liners and wanted to try the Kohl line. I have a set of limited edition kohl and I love them. I just can't use glitter liner all the time. I bought Black track just didn't feel like including it in here since I always get it.

Eyeshadows

I had to buy some new shadows and a bunch of pro palettes since the ones I have are broken. I prefer the refill pans only because it's a lot easier to carry in my kit and at the same time it saves a lot more space. I love there shadows the colors are always dead on plus I don't use a lot when it comes to an application.

I dont have enough of Make Up Forevers shadows, I plan to start collecting more since they are really amazing.

MakeUp Forever 171 wet/dry- Iridescent lime green

Peacocky Eyeshadows MAC

When I first saw these I thought that they would be very similar to the shadows that MAC carried. When I went home to use them my whole outlook of the colors changed. You have to use a really good base for these shadows I found my self packing the brush for these shadows. During the day the darker colors are not as intense as I thought it would be. I basically used a sealer for this. I love the way the colors look when its applied wet.

Love there paint pots. I love shimmers and golds. I can use this for highlights eyes and basically what ever my imagination will allow me to lol.

Mac's Cream Color Base- Movie Star Red

There cream color base products are awesome. This really stays on and can also stain the skin. I've used this on lips and if I do use for cheeks I only use it with a very sheer application. It's highly pigmented. On lips this is just amazing true to the color plus if applied correctly it wont bleed.

Spice

I always buy this color over and over. It's just one of those things that I love so much.

MAC RED

As you all know I love red lips. This is from the Satin collection. This still comes out matte in my opinion and a bit dry but I love it. I also bought an extra one for the give away.

I love orange and the way this smells is awesome. It comes in this really cute container. The color is not intense its super sheer with specs of glitz. Reminds me of an orange marmalade.

Love this color- I thought this was just a tube but it came with a brush.

I love this color. I always use this on myself when it comes to pout red lips.

Champale Edition lip Glee's
